Problem using expression source
I am trying to use the expression source from the article "Using an Expression Source to Drive Your SPICE-Based Circuit". I do what the article says but when I try to select the expression source it is not listed in the instrument window. I can run the example but when I click on the expression source I get the following message.
Cannot find the LabVIEW instrument "LVInstrIF820/Expression_Source". The following instrument(s) will not work properly:XLV1
I have the LVInstrIF820.dll in the following directory C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Circuit Design Suite 11.0\lvinstruments. So I am not quite sure what is going on. I am using v11.0 of Multisim.
TIA
Jon
Hi Jon,
You need to add the Expression_Source.llb file to your LabVIEW instruments directory. You can find the file attached or I got it from the Using an Expression Source to Drive Your SPICE-Based Circuit example program. I placed the file in my directory and it appeared on the toolbar in Multisim.
You could also check the directory is correct by going to Options>>Paths>>Miscellaneous>>User LabVIEW instruments path in Multisim.
Let me know if this doesn't work.

Problem using Express over Ethernet via Solwise Gigabit Homeplug
I am hoping someone can help me here.
Similar problem with Tandie (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12175903). I have a Vista PC which has no problem at all to connect to my Express over ethernet. I use my Express to "Create new wireless" network and stream my itunes over ethernet, which works well if I have a cable connected to the Express to my network where my Vista PC is connected.
However, when I take my Express to another room and connect it to a Solwise Gigabit Homeplug and my other homeplug connects to my network I then seem to have problems. The homeplug works perfectly with my PS3, but my Express after about 2 hours itunes and Airport Utility is unable to find it. I can however ping the Express, but that is it.
Here's how I configured the AX:
Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network
Wireless Network Name = unique name different to my Wireless BT Hub
Radio Mode = 802.11n (802.11b/g compatible)
Channel = Automatic
Click the Internet icon
Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
AX Firmware ver: 7.4.2

Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
This would be the correct setting if your AirPort Express is connected directly to a simple modem (a simple modem has only 1 ethernet port)
If you have the Express connected back to another router (it will have 3-4 ethernet ports), then the correct setting for Connection Sharing would be "Off (Bridge Mode)"
I can't say if this will solve your problem. If you continue to have issues, then test using an ethernet cable from the Express back to your main router. If this works well, then one or both of the powerline products is suspect. -
Weird printer problem using Express, Vista and Dell
I have a new Dell Inspiron 1525 running Vista Home Premium. I have a Brother printer hooked up to my Express. Set up printer via Bonjour w/o problems. Computer recognizes the printer and seems to send info to it. But when I try to print, it only prints the first few lines and then just stops. Won't print anything else. And if I try to print another document, it does nothing at all (doesn't even print the first few lines). Tried with an HP printer and got the same results. Have uninstalled and reinstalled printer many times with same results. Already downloaded updated drivers for printer.
Express works fine otherwise (connects to the Net, streams music from iTunes). But when connected to my old laptop that ran XP, suddenly stopped printing wirelessly (would print nothing at all). I wrote it off to computer problems at the time. Now I wonder if the printer connection on the Express is malfunctioning even though the rest of it is working fine.
Help please -- anyone! Thanks.Welcome to the discussions, Charles266!

Problems using Express Lane for support
When reporting some issues to Apple for support, I get an error that my product (iPad Air) is not yet supported. Is anyone else having this issue?
Thats not a regular expression thats just standard Expression Language
No idea what Lomboz is but you are trying to access a value that declared in the scriplet code and not in the pageContext where JSTL stores/retieves variabeles and values by default.
JSTL is not designed to work with scriplet code anyway.
try something like
<c:set var="test" value="testing"/>
<c:out value="${test} /> -
Flex 4.5 problem using image in Mobile Application (Android)
I have a problem using flex and mobile application...
I have an image with path = "/mnt/sdcard/images/20120202172020990.jpg"
Simply using
<s:Image id="image" source="/mnt/sdcard/images/20120202172020990.jpg" />
Get me an empty image on device, still using it on computer (desktop build / debug) it works fine...
I have enabled every kind of permission in the app.xml
Why I got this error?I actually solved the problem using:
image.source = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath(file_name).url;
using instead this one it will work only under windows...
image.source = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath(file_name).nativePath;
I don't know if it's a bug or whatelse, but I think that the source property of Image passing a filename that start with / (/ is root for unix based OS, android, linux, ios, etc), will take is as a relative path instead of complete path... -

Having problems using ion tape express with itunes cannot find the song on hard drive
Having problems using ION tape express with itunes. The song is on hard drive as temp1 not the name of the song. And I have problems playing it in itunes
because it says it cannot locate the song'Then correct the name of the song or point iTunes to the new file.
Issues with restoring should be directed to the manufacturer of the backup software/device... this is not an Apple or iTunes issue. -
hi
I have to use expression operator in a cube's mapping. i am using two different tables to get a column from each table in input group of the expression. On the bases of these two columns i have to make a decision in CASE statement in output group.
but in mapping deployment it gives me an error that expression is getting data from two different sources.... is it impossible to use two different tables in expression operator..... if so......... then how can i solve my problem (in fact i have to use case statement for decision making on the bases of the information from those two tables)
thanks in advance
imranhi Patrick
i have already done this but it is not working as well and response is same "you are using two different sources in expression".
in fact i am using few tables from source schema and another table(time dimension table) from target schema. i think either this error is due to using time dimension's table or it could be due to using table from two different schema's
what you say... i need your point of view

Linkage and performance problems with "Additional source folders"
Hello
There seems to be a some problems when using "additional source folders" in Flash Builder 4.5 and 4.5.1 (links to folders outside a project see pic below). Hopefully I'm doing something wrong and some kind soul could point it out.
I have a library project which is referenced from a Flex application. When I try to use the tools to go to any of the declarations in the library project from the flex application project, I get a "Code Navigation Error" insetad of seeing the source code in the library project:
Typeing with code completion turned on is super-duper slow, characters take around half a second to appear.
What would really help is to know if there's a way to tell Flash Builder how to locate the source files for library swc's, and if there was a way to improve the performance of the text editor.Thanks for replying.
I didn't specifically embed the source. How would one do that? I tried the "-debug" additional compiler option (from here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf69084-7ad5.html) but I get an error saying "Option -debug cannot be used when compiling in Flash Builder":
I also did add the common swc into the libraries path using "Add project" in the Flex Application project:
The linked source folders are in the library project, however I still get the same problem wven when not using linkled source folders so I don't think that is the cause: -

Thanks you very much.It is unclear where you are having a problem. Is your issue at runtime (when the form runs in the browser) or when working in the Builder on the form?
Also be aware that you will need to sign your jar and include some new manifest entries. Refer to the Java 7u51 documentation and blogs that discuss the changes.

Safari crashes or will not quit also the same problem using Yahoo Mail
Iv been having a problem using Safari & Yahoo Mail. When opening specific e-mails or opening attachments withing the e-mail, Safari will crash. Not once or twice, but 2, 3, 4 or more times. Each time I send in a report to Apple telling them what is happening. I do not have the same problem if I use "Camino" with Yahoo Mail.
I'm also having problems in that there are times when Safari seems to just be sitting there and not opening a page or will not quit when I hit the "Quit Safari" button. It will just sit there and if I bring up the "Force Quit Application" it shows that Safari is (not responding). Then I have to Force Quit Safari to get it to do something.
Know this is really 2 situations, but does it mean that Safari is corrupted? Is it possible to have to much in Safari? To many bookmarks, to many RSS, things like that? Does Safari have it's own max like your HD?Morning Maria,
Thanks for the help. I'll try to post the thing I found in the crash log, but it seems to be rather large. Checked and re-checked, but what I'm posting is the only thing that started or stopped like you said at the end. The entire thing runs for pages and pages. Remember I said that it's been an on going problem where Safari will crash 2,3,4 or more times in a 5 minute period. I send a report when ever that report window pops up. That adds up to a lot, LOL.
If I understand you right as well. You're saying that the Safari cache folder should show a big flat ZERO if the cache is emptied and then I go back to check the folder. Does that mean then that when I empty the cache from Safari>Empty Cache ... that it isn't doing exactly everything? So that I will have to start going to Preferences to do it or to remove that folder more?
BTW, does it hurt if I would remove and trash all those crash report logs that are in the files? Right now it shows 10.8MB in there.
Okay, not that this will help, but here is what I found on the Safari crash log:

Problems using java.xml.xpath - How to get values from DTMNodeList?
Sorry for the waffle in the subject title, but I was unsure what to call it. I hope this thread is in the correct forum.
I'm having problems using xpath to parse some data from an XML file. I am able to create an expression which obtains the elements I wish to retreive, but I'm unsure on how to go about getting their values. So far I have..
public int getTerms(int PMID)
String uri = "http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/eutils/efetch.fcgi?db=pubmed&id="
+ PMID + "&retmode=xml";
// Create an XPath object with the XPathFactory class
XPathFactory factory = XPathFactory.newInstance();
XPath xPath = factory.newXPath();
// Define an InputSource for the XML article
InputSource inputSource = new InputSource(uri);
// Create the expression
String expression = "/PubmedArticleSet/PubmedArticle/MedlineCitation/MeshHeadingList/MeshHeading/DescriptorName";
// Use this expression to obtain a NodeSet of all the MeSH Headings for the article
try
DTMNodeList nodes = (DTMNodeList) xPath.evaluate(expression,
inputSource, XPathConstants.NODESET);
int length = nodes.getLength();
String[] terms = new String[length];
// Test mesh terms are being stored.
*for (int i=0; i<length; i++)*
* System.out.println(i + ": " + nodes.item(i).getNodeValue());*
return nodes.getLength();
catch (XPathExpressionException e2)
{ System.out.println("Article with PMID " + PMID + " has no associated MeSH terms");}
// return a default
return 0;
} The part in bold is the problematic code. I wish to retreive the values of each of the nodes I have taken into my DTMNodeList using a for loop to iterate through each node, and use the getNodeValue() method from the Node class which should return a string. However, the values I retreive are NULL. In the test document I use, the elements do have values.
Here is a snippet of the XML file I am reading in:

The element value is actually the child of the node I am current at, so instead of doing:
i + ": " + nodes.item(i).getNodeValue()); I should have really done:
i + ": " + nodes.item(i).getChildNode().getNodeValue()); -
Problem with setting Source Level in Sun Studio 2
I've got problem with setting Source Level to 1.5 in Sun Studio 2. When I try to set it to 1.5 in Project properties and click Ok everything seem to go well, but when I open Project Properties again Source Level is set to 1.4. I need this to work cause I started to lear Java recently and I want to use foreach loop.
Please helpI'm just citing an example using Date().
In fact, whether I use DateFormat or Calendar, it shows the same result.
When I set the date to 1 Jan 1950 0 hours 0 minutes 0 seconds,
jdk1.4.2 will always return me 1 Jan 1950 0 hours 10 minutes 0 seconds.
It works correctly under jdk1.3.1 -
Problem using multiline container in Alert Category
Hello, experts!
Could you please suggest me how to solve the following issue.
I have userdefined multiline container MY_CONTAINER with two elements FIELD (stores name of field) and VALUE (stores value of field). This container is filled in runtime by means of BADI extension. So in transaction ALRTDISP filled container looks like:
MY_CONTAINER
MY_CONTAINER[1]
FIELD SystemCode
VALUE 42
MY_CONTAINER[2]
FIELD Key
VALUE 0292383728232
MY_CONTAINER[3]
FIELD State
VALUE 1
...and so on. Number of filled elements of container is unknown.
I need to add the contents of this container to Long text of Alert Category in form of:
SystemCode: 42
Key: 0292383728232
State: 1
...and so on.
I added MY_CONTAINER on the Containers tab of my alert category. And in Long text included the following expression:
&MY_CONTAINER[].FIELD[]&: &MY_CONTAINER[].VALUE[]&.
But in long text it looks like:
SystemCode Key State ...: 42 0292383728232 1 ...
If the expression is like
&MY_CONTAINER[].FIELD& - &MY_CONTAINER[].VALUE&
then long text contains only the first element:
SystemCode: 42.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
I think I need to use expressions (something like FOR-loop) for filling Long Text in Alert Categories. Is it possible?
BR,
VikaHi Experts,
still trying to work out but couldn't understand the behaviour.
<b>If the Long text :</b>
Error: &SXMS_ERROR_CODE& <b>of category &SXMS_ERROR_CAT&</b> was found in a message &SXMS_MSG_GUID& from the service &SXMS_FROM_SERVICE& <b>and Interface &SXMS_FROM_INTERFACE&</b>
to test I am running the program <b>RSALERTTEST</b>
<b>Msg got thru E-mail is </b>
Error: and category:<b> &SXMS_ERROR_CAT&</b> was found in a message from the service and Interface
<b>
And when I change the Long text</b>
Error: &SXMS_ERROR_CODE& <b>and &SXMS_ERROR_CAT&</b> was found in a message &SXMS_MSG_GUID& from the service &SXMS_FROM_SERVICE& and Interface &SXMS_FROM_INTERFACE&
After running the program <b>RSALERTTEST</b>
<b>
E-mail msg</b>
Error: and was found in a message from the service and Interface <b>&SXMS_FROM_INTERFACE&</b>
coudn't able to understand why it is displaying the container variable as is in the mail.
checked all the Alert Framework configuration, Everything looks good.
Thank you,
<b>MK</b> -
I'm having a problem using c:forEach. Eclipse is telling me the problem is with the items parameter, and for the life of me, I cannot see why, since I could swear forEach uses an items parameter. Here is my code and the exception report. Can anyone please help? Thanks.
