Problem viewing artwork for ipod content in itunes
I would like to scroll through my ipod library the same way as the main library but the options for doing so are greyed out. There is also no artwork window and when I transfer a song from library into ipod, the artwork doesn't transfer with it. Have I disabled something?

Do you have album art for all the songs on your ipod? That is something else I've not checked for, I've no need to see the artwork. So, I also assume your ipod song list is different to the music you have in itunes, or else why would you want to view it in itunes?
I guess itunes is showing you what is on your ipod in the list only view cos that is all that your ipod supports. You ARE viewing your ipod after all, so the songs aren't essentially IN itunes.

this is the fix:
-Launch Control Panel - Double click Quicktime, If you do not see quicktime, look on the top left side of control panel and switch to classic view. This will then allow you to see Quicktime.
-Now click the advanced tab and click on Safe Mode GDI Only, Apply, then ok. -
my ipod & itunes are fully up-to-date with 4.2.1 for ipod and the itunes 11.0.1 and every app (ex facebook & ice cream jump says i need 4.3 version but when i click all updates say its all up to date. I have tryed restoring it 4 times to factory as well. Please help I have set-up over 10 ipods and differents generations and have never had this issue like this, I even have all ratings ristriction unchecked and payment info in itunes so i need help please
but i could download on others ipods in same gen, facebook and ice cream tower, everything i look up and try install always says that for apps so your saying that i can not ever download any apps to this ipod ever againÉ

Apple would have to strip so many features out of iOS 7 to make it work on your iPod that about all you'd have would be iOS 6 with different icons. So as the others have said, this is not going to happen. If you want iOS 7, you'll need a newer iPod.

my old computer crashed so I used a program to download my ipod contents into itunes. Now when I sync it only uploads @ 100 of my 8000 songs ?
Any error messages when you sync the iPod? Do all of these tracks play okay in iTunes?

Getting Album Artwork for songs NOT in iTunes and ONLY on iPod

Am I missing something obvious here? I am struggling with the album artwork feature for use in the coverflow section of the iPod Classic 80GB. I do NOT keep all of my songs in iTunes as my laptop hard drive is just not big enough.
My problem is that highlighting the songs on my iPod once I've connected it to iTunes then selecting Get Album Artwork simply doesn't work. Only trawling through countless forums on various websites I've discovered that possibly the artwork is only updated for songs you have in the iTunes library or only for songs bought on iTunes. I have 1000s of CDs I've uploaded onto my iPod (surely lots of people do not keep their music in iTunes for the same reason as me - small hard drive?)
There MUST be a software fix for this problem that could be issued out? Or if not, somebody should come up with a fix on an independent website. By the way, all of my tracks on the iPod have had their info obtained from the Gracenotes system used through iTunes so not having matching info to iTunes cannot be a reason for the lack of artwork can it?
I'd love to hear a solution to this problem.

Correct. It's meant to access your iTunes library and add artwork from the iTunes store.

No, because as I say, it's meant to add artwork in the iTunes library (although even this can sometimes be an issue if the album info obtained from Gracenote doesn't match what's in the iTunes store.)
If an iPod is set to manage the songs manually, then it's possible to add the artwork to the songs directly onto the iPod (when looking at them through iTunes) without adding it to the songs in iTunes. Just copy paste an album image from (say) Amazon into the artwork box in the bottom left corner when looking at the songs on your iPod through iTunes.
However, I have found that if you are adding artwork directly to the iPod via iTunes and not to songs in the library first of all, then some (or all) artwork may not display correctly. -
Viewing ipod contents from itunes 7
I have itunes 7 and a video ipod. Ever since my latest update of itunes, I am unable to view my ipod songs from itunes (I can only see the summary, and different options about syncing music, videos, etc.). With the older version of itunes, when my ipod was selected, I would see a list of all my ipod music, similar to the library. Is it possible to do this with the itunes 7?

ITunes Not Remembering View Options for iPod
I just upgraded to 7.0.1 to see if it would fix this problem, but no dice. The view options for my 5G 80GB reset back to the factory settings each time I disconnect my iPod, or even if I restart iTunes and leave the iPod connected.
I'd like to have the browser up and have some of the other options changed, like showing track numbers and time. This used to be a setting that always stayed the same with my previous iPod.
I upgraded my iTunes to 7.0 and bought my new iPod at the same time, so I'm not sure which is actually having the problem. Anyone else notice this?I'm having exactly the same problem with iTunes 7.0.2 and a 80gb iPod. It's really annoying. It should remember the view options, at least iTunes 6 did.

Cannot figure out how to view ipod contents on itunes screen??
My kids have the nanos where I could see what had been transferred over and what wasn't. With my 5th generation, I can't figure out how to view it's contents. I get the summary screen and related screens on what to sync with the 7.0 version.
On the left-hand sidebar in iTunes you should be able to see your iPod - icon with name beside it. Underneath it, there should be listings like music, movies, T.V. shows, podcasts, audiobooks. (I guess if there's nothing on the iPod yet there may be none of that) Select one of the items and it will show you the iPods' contents of that particular thing.

Css problem in media for ipod and mobile
I have a problem applying code for a menu on a webpage.

I have applied the effect fine for the Full screen model media section of responsive.css but when I try to tailor the menu for the smaller resolutions it is only adjusting it for the full screen version.
I have applied the middle resolution in the example uploaded but for some reason it is not applying it to the model.
Please can anyone shed light as why this could be - the clue has to be somewhere in the nav section of the css....

I have a fifth generation 30GB iPod
I've uploaded loads of album artwork and attached the files to the relevant tracks - I know this has completed within iTunes but the artwork is not appearing on my iPod.
By the way - i've down the obvious by selecting the show album artwork on my iPod options before the iPod is set to sync.
Any ideas?Does this happen to ALL artwork or only certain albums?
I have found on occasion sometimes artwork for certain albums don't transfer over. I usually can force it on by first de-selecting that album (I un-check them in the library and my ipod is set to only update checked items), do a sync, which removed the album from the iPod. Then I recheck the tracks and sync again. Usually on the second sync back onto the iPod, I get the artwork.
I think this normally happens to albums that were already on in the library without artwork and synced to the iPod and that I later added artwork and they didn't update artwork to the iPod. Stuff I added to the library with artwork from the start (that already have the artwork the first time it syncs to the iPod) seem OK.

2 Problems: Album Artwork won't load and Itunes deletes podcasts
I have one minor problem and one major problem. The minor problem is that I try to get album artwork off the internet for some of my albums and I go to add the artwork in Itunes and when I add it, it doesn't show up, like I never added any. The second problem is that when I am in the podcast section looking at podcasts, downloading, and/or listen to some, it sometimes deletes a whole director, usually one or two of my video podcasts for no apparent reason and gets rid of the whole podcast in my directory. I can re download the podcasts, but its really annoying.
For the artwork not adding, make sure XP doesn't think the actual music file is read-only.
You might need to 'undo' read-only several folders above it and apply it to all subfolders.
FOr example, if you are trying to change artwork for
drive:path....\iTunes Music\Beastie Boys\Licensed to Ill
Make sure the "iTunes Music" folder is not read only.
For the podcast problem, right-click on the top-level podcast name and choose *Do Not Auto Delete* from the flyout menu. -
Copy IPOD Contents TO Itunes on New Computer
Is there a way of copying my ipod music to a new computer versus haveing a blank itunes that then erases the ipod contents on syncing??? Thanks
JRkleinOk, here is a little trick i learned. All you have to do is add folder (if on windows) or just files (not files on windows).
First you want to plug in your ipod while having iTunes open.
Second deny and attempt for iTunes to add the current library onto the pluged-in iPod.
Third, go to the preferences and go to advanced, and check the box that says: "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library"
Fourth: Amke sure the iPod is enabled as disk use, and then add the ipod folder, yes the whole thing to your library.
Fifth, the files hsould now appear in you library, and you can disconnect your iPod because the file were copied to you itumes Music folder.
sixth, disconnect the ipod and attempt to play the songs. If you can't retry.
Who said Apple doesn't let you take songs off the iPod. -
Problems transfering videos to ipod since installing itunes 6.02
So, i just upgraded to itunes 6.02 and now i can't transfer videos onto my ipod. It tells me they aren't in the correct format or a format the ipod can play. Before i upgraded i had absolutely no problems. I have tried taking off files that uploaded fine with the previous version of itunes and uploading them with the newer version and they don't work either. I've got the latest updater software and that's made no difference.
I've used both Videora and Apollo ipod convertors and neither make any difference. I've tried both mpeg4 and h.264 formats, but that doesn't work either.
Why do apple bring out software that creates new bugs?!I just bought a 5th gen and cannot transfer videos.
The videos are a computer format (could not play on TV) and I converted them to play on Ipod like help file stated. It stated that I can drag and drop to Ipod icon that shows when I connect the Ipod and use ITunes. Well no can do! It transfered to ITunes and will play in ITunes but cannot get to Ipod. My Ipod has a video section so I know I can have them on it. I tried with manual and automatic update selected.
Am I doing something wrong?
