Problem viewing .mid files in Score Editor

Help please!
Used Finale several years ago before I upgraded to OS 10 and Logic 7.2 Express. I recently opened one of my .mid files from Finale and it played back fine but when I tried to see the score in the Score Editor it was altered and only some of the notes were visible - even though they all played and were obviously "there" using other views such as Matrix or Event Editors!
(The score in question still displays perfectly in Finale - the keyboard part in question has some large chord blocks that "build" but the build doesn't show in Score Editor - but the notes are "there and playing" - but it makes it hard to edit or follow in Score Editor.
Before I go back into Finale for my notation/writing needs, I'd like to know if there is a way to bring these files into Logic "on all levels"- including the Score Editor - or is this a bug?

There are many (read--jillions!) of options available within the score editor. When you open a score window on the midi sequence at hand first look at the inspector panel on the left side of the screen.
The first be-triangled panel has a "syncopation" option. Toggle that and see what it does. Read the manual for how it decides what to do here. More importantly note your Quantize toggle there. This quantize is not for how the sequence sounds, but how it displays. Change it one of the more likely defaults 16,24 and you'll get one level of precision. Set it to 8,12 and you'll get another. Set it to 4 and you get nothing but quarter notes and half-notes.
Read the manual for the myriad details, but hacking through the options may get you to what you intended.
You should likely read up on "overlap" to see what kind of roadblocks it is or isn't providing.

I using windows xp service pack3. I used before about 2 years and I never had problems, but now when I uninstall adobe photoshop cs5 because I could not see CR2 files in adobe bridge I tried install again about 3 times and unsuccessful, could you help me please.

Are you receiving an error when installing or are you unable to view your CR2 files once Photoshop is installed?

Problems creating bass tab in score editor...

Trying to write some bass tab directly into the score editor for printing out later. First thing I created was a bassline that's only on the low E. When I did the 5th fret A Logic kept putting the note to the open third string A. I fixed that in the tab layout section by setting the A1 pitch to A2 and the note now goes to the 5th fret A like I want.
But in the next measure I want a B5 bassline on the 7th fret/4th string and 9th fret/3rd string, B and F#. I can get the B no problem, but Logic is forcing the F# to the 14th fret/4th string note instead of the 9th fret/3rd string I want. I've tinkered with changing pitches in the guitar tab layout, but nothing is getting me an F# on the 9th fret/3rd string. Any ideas?
I wish I could do this in in Finale Notepad, but as far as I can tell, I can't do hammer on/pull off symbols unless I buy the upgrade...things I need to do in the THIRD measure!

I am sorry to have to say that importing scores was not the reason for MIDI, it is for the MIDI editor only. There is a NEW system now called XML and it can transfer scores and midi, but Logic can only open XML files from SoundtrackPro, Other sequencers,[ Cubase5 ] say they can safely transfer scores but I haven't tried it yet. There is a reply in this forum marked !solved! from me to someone else in which I falsely claim that logic CAN import xml,I was wrong, dig deeper and you will find that the choices for importing are MIDI, ,OMF, Open TL, and AAF, I haven't found any info on what AAF can do, but the other two are only for audio files only. I don't remember Finale exporting AAF so no joy there. Happy searching.

Acrobat X pro - Problem viewing PDF files in web browser

I've recently upgraded to the latest Imac and have experianced one or two teething problems with software compatibility with OS X 10.7.1 Lion (most now resolved)
My latest issue is viewing online PDF's which appear in my browser as just a blank black page. This happens in both Safari and Firefox (both latest versions)
My question is: Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this?

I was able install and view the files in adobe reader 10.1.1 and in web browser window 7 64 bit machine. But when I go to Edit-preferences-internet and unchecking "display PDF in Browser" , I am not able to view the pdf files in ie 9 browser. I have used this javscript to check for pdf version.
Immediately after installing adobe--
when I do adobe test in ie 9---https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html-- launches a test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
After unchecking-- it stays in the https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
Tried to go back to "display PDF in Browser"--it is showing it is checked(eventhough I did not check it)

GlassFish View Log File opens in editor instead of console

How to reproduce:
Open the Servers view, and bring up the context menu for a GlassFish server
Select GlassFish > View Log File
Actual: Log file is opened in an editor. Every time the file is changed, a popup is shown to ask whether the contents should be reloaded (unusable)
Expected: Log file is opened in Console view and provides the usual reloading and scrolling behavior
Eclipse: 4.3.0 (Kepler) (Platform 4.3.0.I20130605-2000)
GlassFish Tools: 6.0.3.201306271729
The question is: Can this bug please be fixed?

I've noticed that search is sometimes quirky in the console, yes. But that always felt like a bug in platform. Other than searching, usability of the console is superior: Automatically scrolling, Clear Console, Scroll Lock, Show Console when output changes, being in a view instead of an editor.
The editor is so bad that some people here refuse to upgrade to the new plugin version, instead installing the Indigo version from old workspaces.
How about just offering both in the context menu? They could be named something like View Log in Console and View Log File in Editor.

Problem viewing PDF File in JSP

Hi,
I have the file location of a PDF saved in the database.
If I modify the PDF file on my directory and then try to view it in my browser, it still shows the old file .. (I do not modify the pdf file name)
However, when I close my browser and reopen it, it shows up okay. this looks like a browser level problem but can someone give me an idea on how I can solve this problem within my JSP...

The problem you are having is a browser cache issue. If you open the same URL, the browser is trying to save you time by giving you what it got last time. The trick is to make the URL different each time it is opened. Just append a hash or some other unique code:
Instead of:
http://myserver/pdfMakerServlet/newpdf.pdf
Use this:
http://myserver/pdfMakerServlet/newpdf.pdf&012345
If the URL is different each time, the browser will ask the server again for the file.

Having problem importing midi files.

Hello everyone,
I am having trouble importing midi files in GB. Every time I do all I get is a single insrument, and not the whole midi file as it was when I downloaded it. I tried Dent du midi and cant even get that to work. It looks like it is working, but never seperates the tracks. I would really like to be able to pick apart midi files. Anyone have any ideas. This is my first Apple, but I have been a PC Tech for 8 years now. (I Hate PCs, I love the Mac)

Welcome to the forum. Yes, sometimes these issues occur. Since I am the biggest importer of MIDI files to GB3, I will see what I can do for you.
First, when you wish to import a MIDI, drag the file onto an empty area (ie no tracks) of the GarageBand window. Hold until you see a + sign. Drop, and you should see the tracks appear.
How did you obtain the MIDI file? From the Net? How did you save it? What were the steps?
Do you have Quicktime Pro? Sometimes the way you save a MIDI file will make a difference. You have a choice between "save as movie" or "save as source", and I believe the latter works best.
Has it worked for other MIDI files? Or is one or two giving you issues? Perhaps if you can post a link to the MIDI file, I can have a look at it.

Problem playing .mid file with QT Player on an external MIDI instrument

I am trying to play a .mid file with QT Player (so I can play it from various softwares as Keynote) and send it out on an attached MIDI device (thru M-audio or Tascam interface). Unfortunatelly, I can only choose "QuickTime Instruments" from the pop-up menu in QT Advanced Preferences. I tried with several configs (G4, G5), several MIDI interfaces, and last flavor of both Panther and Tiger with QT 7.0.4. I configured MIDI setups normally and I can play on exernal instruments from Logic or other sequencers.
Any idea why I cannot see my devices from QT directly ? Thanks,

I have tried with a Tascam US-428 with 10.3.9 and QT 6 (latest) and 7.0.4 hooked to a Akai S3000. I also tried on a G5 with a MOTU interface (all last software versions). At home, I have tried with my Ti550 running 10.3.9, QT 6 (latest) 7.0.1 and 7.0.4 and also with my Sawtooth (10.4.5, QT 7.0.4), both with a M-audio Uno interface hooked to a E-mu Proteus expander.
All configurations behave the same. They are working fine with various sequencers (Logic, PT, some freewares) but interfaces never show up in the advanced preferences of QT.

Problem viewing xhml_usc file of UseCase diagram

I am new to Jdeveloper. Currently working with Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
Cannot view the xhtml_usc files of items in the Use Case Diagram.
I think there is a problem in interpreting the xml itself. Since in the source of the page, items r marked red and the xml tags r grey (cannot be interpreted). And in the html tab of the page, a blank page is displayed.
Need help plz as we r investigating the new UML JDeveloper features here.

It is typically a bad idea to have degenerate sample data as in this case where each element is 7. This does not easily allow to verify if the correct order and transposition is achieved. (Also, your second FOR loop is pure LabVIEW gibberish. )
Try something as shows in the image.... (of course the diagram constants should be replaced my math based on the input array sizes).

Problems viewing PDF files following Acrobat Pro XI update to 11.0.10

Following update to Acrobat Pro XI version 11.0.10, some of my PDF files give me the message "cannot find or create the font 'Times-Bold'. Some characters may not display or print correctly" when I try to open them. Associated with this is that the characters "fl" are missing, i.e. the word "fluid" in the files appears as "uid". For some other files, I do not get the message "Cannot find or create..." but "fl" is missing nevertheless. I had no problems prior to the 11.0.10 update. I have tried a repair installation to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing first, Are you facing this issue with all pdf files or just one particular file? Because if you are facing this error with that particular pdf file then it might be because the fonts in the pdf file might have got corrupt.
secondly i would like to know that which operating system are you using?
Moreover, if you have acrobat installed on your system, then you might try the following procedures :
1. Go to File-> save as other -> more options ->Post script ;
Now open Adobe Distiller and convert Post script file into Pdf file.
If the above procedure doesn't work then try the following :
2. Tools - > Print Production -> Preflight -> PDF fixups -> 'Embed Fonts' and 'Embed Fonts (even if text is invisible)' -> Analyse and Fix

Problem viewing pdf files when browsing

Help! Ever since downloading the lates Adobe and purchasing it, I can't view a pdf file at all from any site without first saving it somewhere. If I just click on it, it won't open -- it makes me save it to a file first. That never happened before. After I download it and save it, then I can view it. Is there a setting I need to change or something? Thanks...

Try this:
- Quit Safari completely (Safari menu > Quit)
- Launch the Terminal application (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
- Enter the following command and then press return:
defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport -bool NO
- Close the Terminal window
- Restart Safari
- Try another PDF file and see if they now open in Safari.

Problems viewing Raw Files

I have recently installed Photoshop CS4 on a new PC. When I open Bridge all Raw images are shown as icons and will not then open up in Photoshop (says there the wrong file type). When I try to install the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw and try to install it it says thet Bridge needs to be closed to continue installation but Bridge is allready closed. This has never been a problem on my old PC. Any help would be grateful.

You mentioned that you downloaded the latest version of Camera Raw.
Be aware that different versions of Camera Raw are specific to the version of Photoshop.
I believe the most recent version of Camera Raw that will work with PS CS4 is ACR v. 5.7
The later version like 6.5 will only work with PS CS5 or later.

Problem viewing pdf files

When I click on a pdf file, it is black.

i have these kind of problems too:
it only appears in os x preview, safari, quicklook, and apps like papers, who uses the "os-x-pdf-engine". but these pdfs will only shown correct with the acrobat-reader. the problems are: complete black, complete empty, some objects are invisible, pictures are invertet, ect. a developer told me, that it is a bug in os-x...

Problems viewing .asp files

I'm using Quicktime v. 7.1.6 and Flip4Mac v. 2.1.0.33.
I also can't see them with Windows Media Player for Mac v. 9.0.0. Very Strange!
I've tried futzing with all the various settings ... but to no avail.
Can someone PLEASE help! By the way: the video's here are only representative. I've had problems at a variety of sites.

Works here...try this.
Go to system preferences. Click on the Flip4Mac...Browser tab...unclick Launch Quicktime Player...close out and try again...
Even with a fast connection these streams to 10-15 to start.

Problem viewing AVI files with quicktime plugin

I have quicktime 7.6 and perian installed
When I try to stream an AVI file I can hear sound but no video is displayed
If I download the file and I then play it with quicktime everything is fine
If I remove perian then I will be able to stream from the website but of course unable to play MKV, Divx and Xvid files
I have removed all obsolete codecs and I am running out of ideas on what is wrong with the system

In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from
http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/
