Problem viewing tasks in UWL

Hello Gurus
I'm havin g some trouble in UWL since the installation of SP29. When a certain user logs on its session, can view all the tasks in the inbox, but as all you know, there is some batch process that refresh the view every certain time. So, when this happens, all the tasks gone and the inbox is empty. To view again the tasks, the user needs to click in some other tab from the menu, and then return to the tasks tab to view them again. And when the batch process is executed, the problem occurs again. The odd thing is this happens only with a certain user.
Any ideas?

Hi Armando!
This can be eventually tied with the fact that the affected user might have personalization set in the UWL. To check this please follow the steps from this page:
Removing Personalized Information - Configuring the Universal Worklist - SAP Library
Let us know the results in case this helps!
Other than that, all that I can think is something tied with the current iView/XML settings performed in the scenario. For this aspect, I would suggest that you test from the UWL iView provided under the Content Provided by SAP folder within the Portal Content. For this, please check the following documentation to get to know the location, in case you don't know it:

Hello gurus
I have a problem with the portal content the user is viewing on UWL. We've finished the job in Dev and everything was fine, but in QA when we try to view some tasks in UWL the message "The page doesn't exists or is not available" appears, and if we check the trace, appears an error saying "child not found" when we try to view the task. Any ideas?

Hi ,
Check the in the backend inbox , whether you are able open the task . If you are able to open it in backend workflow , try reregistering uwl again.
I believe it is related to backend workflow issue.

How to remove options in context menu of the task in UWL.

Hi,
How to remove options or customize the context menu of the task in UWL.
I have 4 options(Edit,Remove,Forward,Resubmit) is appearing in the context menu.
My requirement is to delete Forward option form the menu list and only 3 options
should appear in the list.
Can anybody suggest where to change?

Hi vikas,
Go to System Admin ->System Config->UWL Admin.
select your system alias.
Click on Click to Click to Administrate Item Types and View Definitions.
Select your UWL configuration.
Download DTD as well as XML file through Download Configuration.
Then you can edit the xml file using XML spy editor or anyone.
to upload go back to the same page and select the tab...Upload new configuration.
Do not forget to clear the cache after upload.

Handle to a BPM task in UWL

Hello UWL Experts,
This is a follow up thread to the question that I have already posted in BPM forum [Handle to a Task in BPM;. The attempt here is to check if this issue could be simply solved in the context of UWL / rather than BPM.
Here goes the actual problem description.
1. There is a BPM process which parallely triggers the creation of a task (in UWL ) and creation + sending of a custom email form (HTML form containing the same task data) to a user at the same time.
2. If the user approves the task from Email (instead of logging into Portal / UWL), how to automatically close the task in UWL.
On capturing this event can I use any UWL API to close the UWL task? Will a custom UWL connector help in closing this task in UWL.?
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.

CE 7.2 provides Adobe forms for this and that would solve the problem. Also, the close task event could be triggered in CE 7.3. But in CE 7.1, there is no solution for this.

Different task in UWL than Business Workplace

Hi,
I have problem with tasks.
Why in Business Workplace (R/3) I have only tasks "In Progress"? But in UWL in SAP Portal I have all of status tasks?
What must I do? I want the same tasks in UWL and in Business Workplace.

Hi,
Here is something you can do to troubleshoot the problem:
Open NetWeaver Administrator of your host
Go to Operation Management > Processes and Tasks > Manage Processes
Look if you can see your process under 'Processes in Error State', this is selected by default in the process list. If you can see the process there, you can probably see what is wrong with it in the 'Details of Process Instance' table. Look also for hints in the History tab where you can select to show advanced log items.
If your process is not shown in 'Processes in Error State', then you should be able to find it if you select to show 'All Running Processes'. Again have a look at the advanced details in the 'History' tab. Look for entries related to creation of tasks there, this means that a task has actually been created. You can see the active tasks in this process by clicking the 'Show tasks' button.
If this shows you a task, go to the 'Owners' tab to see that your user is actually a potential owner of the task.

My scenario is like that i created one dynpro application which display quotation data in one view. In second view i configured UWL Inbox. Through this Inbox i approve this quotation no.
Now my quotation comes from crm system in backend.
I need to provide just approve or reject fuctionality from inbox. But when i click on inbox item it is showing bsp error msg.So what is solutiion of this.

Can't Open Task in UWL EP7.0

Nothing new! Doesn't work!

SDK C# - query Security Role Properties like Views, Tasks etc

i have a Problem with getting information from the securityroles in SCSM. In C# i cant get the views, Tasks, templates etc. which are in the security roles. Can anybody give me a hint how i can query this configuration in c#.

So the "real need" is that your security roles are confusing and not well defined, so to address this, you'd like to make or find a tool that tells you quickly roles a given user is in, then you could go about troubleshooting
the security issue.
I'd like to offer an alternative: fix your security roles.
a ideal* service manager implementation has 3 security roles.
Administrators, who can see and manage everything,
Analysts, who can work incidents complete activities and shepherd things through the process, but can't really change how the system operates
Everyone Else, who get
implied permissions and not much else.
Sometimes those roles are broken out into different responsibility groups, which are queue filtered, but typically those are the three classes of people in service manager.
Those roles groups should be applied to the departmental or job groups that correspond to the people who do this job, i.e. you work in the helpdesk, therefore you get helpdesk rights in SCSM.
If you are going to stray from this ideal, you should have a good reason for it.
*note: ideal is not "most" or even "a good", ideal is exactly what it sounds like, an ideal goal state that isn't restricted to practical needs. Practical business needs are going to modify this ideal, but it isn't going
to change the goal, just how close you can get.

Unwished Tasks in UWL

Hello there,
we got a very strange Problem:
Some Tasks are appearing in the UWL of our productive System, even their visualization is not configured. Not in a XML File, Wizzard nor in SWFVISU. (In the validation System they are configured.)
Second strange thing. This state came up yesterday, but the Tasks are from October.
How is it possible that this Task appear jet?

You can turn on the UWL support information and find out which XML configuration these unwanted items are picking up.
You can then remove the corresponding configuration from your UWL configuration files.
An alternative is to have an XML configuration file (with a higher priority) with a list of all the unwanted items as shown below:
<ItemTypes>
 <ItemType name="uwl.HideThisTask.TS0000XXXX" connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="launchWebDynPro" executionMode="default">
 <ItemTypeCriteria externalType="TS0000XXXX" connector="WebFlowConnector"/>
 </ItemType>
<ItemTypes>
So, when UWL looks at the name = uwl.HideThisTask.TS0000XXXX, it doesn't recognize it and it will hide it from being displaying.

when iam trying to forward the GP tasks from UWL in EP 7.0 iam getting Exception like...
"Unable to perform the request. Try again and if the problem persists, inform your system administrator.
what could be the reason.we are not using CE to develop the GP process. GP processes are generated on portal itself.

How to get current viewed task

For an external synchronization requirement I need to maintain or be able to retrieve the current viewed task by a user. I'm hopeful that this has been solved before. Does anyone have any insight there? I'm considering setting up a table to maintain the current viewed taskid for the user, but even that is proving challenging with my lack of ADF exposure. I see the 'TaskSelectedEvent' in the wizard generated task form I'm using but I'm not sure how I might leverage that.

Yes. there is no API to get the current task.
Try this:
WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject().getParameter("wi_id");
But i still say a bit confused with your requirement.
The task id gets created only upon creation of a task. And you want this current task id in the BPM Process context? How is it possible unless and until some action takes place and the data is passed from WDJ to BPM Context?
Please clear my doubt.

Problem viewing some webpages

Hey
Looking for some help with my macbook. I have been having problems viewing videos on youtube and i'm unsure of the problem. When i try to view a video it comes up with this message.
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."
Also youtube doesn't look right. It looks like it is all in some kind of basic format with no graphics, ads, pictures etc. (Im not particularly computer savvy)
I've checked my all the settings are correct in preferences, i've updated flash player and made sure all other software is up to date and still no joy!
I had no important data on my macbook so i wiped it and reinstalled the OS and updated everything again, it still hasn't sorted the problem.
Im unsure what to do next, any ideas would be much appreciated.
PS i recently had someone's external hard drive plugged in to it, could i have got some virus from this??

I assumed it probably was not a virus but i thought i'd check anyway. Thats pretty much the reason i bought a mac.
I checked the preferences and JavaScript was already enabled and all other boxes checked also. It only seems to be youtube thats the problem so far although i have not been on many other websites since.
My internet connection is not particularly fast, i am using my college wifi network and it can often be very slow. I usually need to let videos load for a couple of minutes before i can watch.
I have had the Macbook for about a week and have been using it regularly. The problem only started yesterday. I also carried out all my apple updates yesterday, i'm not sure if this is what has led to the problem??

What exactly do I need to do?

That means you were probably using Adobe Acrobat to view PDF's. Acrobat is totally unnessary, you can view PDF's in Preview (Applications - Preview).

I am having problems viewing CR2 files

I using windows xp service pack3. I used before about 2 years and I never had problems, but now when I uninstall adobe photoshop cs5 because I could not see CR2 files in adobe bridge I tried install again about 3 times and unsuccessful, could you help me please.

Problems viewing songs in Zen Mi

Hi all!
I just bought a Zen Micro but have problems viewing the list of songs that I have transferred from MediaSource to the Micro. After I have done a sync, the list of songs do not appear on my Micro at all. I only get an empty screen with the words 'selected music' on the screen but I can't select anything because the songs are not there!
Do the songs take a while before they appear on the screen even if the transfer from PC to Micro is successful? Must I switch off and switch on my Micro before things work? Am I the only person who faces this problem? Could I have done something wrongly?

mmm, have you been reading any manual or so?
Sounds a bit like you are looking at the "Now Playing" screen, without music selected. In that case indeed, the screen says : "go pick some music".
What you do in that case is use the 'back' button, to get to the main menu, and then navigate to your "Music Library", and then on from there.
So either you still have to learn to use the user interface, or I misinterpretated, and there is something oddly wrong with your player
