Problem viewing vdo stream on monitor...

While scrolling forward the playhead in FCP the vdo stream that is sourced to the TV monitor freezes into frames and skips few frames and cannot be viewed as well as it can be viewed on the PC monitor. Would appreciate if someone could enlighten me with the solution? Many Thanx.
mac g5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   Dual Processor 2.3 GHz G5, 4.5 gb RAM, two 300GB SATA HD, one external 500GB firewire drive, 128MB ATI VGA card

I assume than you use 'L' key to forward and don't move mouse or pointer at the same time.
Review your View Menu / External Video. It must sitted at 'all frames'.
Verify that Canvas is sitted at 'Fit to Window' size too...

  • Baby Monitor - view live streaming video on iPhone

I am in search of a webcam (to use as a baby monitor) that I can use with my iPhone to view live streaming video from...
Can someone please recommend a webcam (ideally with a low-light setting, because babies like to sleep in the dark;) and a capable app from the app store that would help me achieve this?
    Thanks!

That is going to be a very custom app. I really doubt it will be in the app store. I understand the idea. I have a monitor myself that has video. I would have to hook up that video monitor to an input device on a computer networked in the home. For me this would entail video monitor output to a camcorder to firewire to imac. could get quite complicated. Even doing this much could encounter problems like each interface having to be set up correctly. once that is done, you might be able to use the bonjour networking to get from iphone to imac. all of this is hypothetical though. interesting scenario though

  • Problems with viewing screens in multiple monitor configurations

Sorry if this is already posted somewhere, but after searching for 45 minutes, I couldn't find an answer.
Since upgrading an iMac to 10.5.7 I've had problems viewing over remote desktop. The iMac has a second display (20 inch Cinema Display) and mirroring is off. Before the upgrade, selecting which monitor to view was a snap. After upgrading, if I select one monitor after about 3 seconds is switches to a 2 monitor view. It doesn't matter which monitor I choose. When it displays both monitors simultaneously, the extra monitor's screen will flash every 3-5 seconds (via ARD, not in reality) and the mouse connection will freeze for about a half second.
Obviously, this makes controlling the machine difficult.
I've trashed all screen sharing and ARD related preferences on the machine without solving the problem.
If I turn off remote administration in the system settings and activate screen sharing, everything works fine (but I lose the other important features of ARD). No other computers on the network have a similar problem - but this is the only machine with 2 monitors. If I turn on mirroring, I still have the problem of the mouse control freezing every few seconds. I assume the connection is being dropped and refreshed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Same thing here.
From the instructor workstation I can see any of the lab computers when viewing both of their monitors. When I try to look at just one monitor all I see is a black screen.
The video mode on the instructor workstation seems to be important. The instructor station has a second monitor that is a 1024x768 video projector. We like to have video mirroring on, of course. But in this mode, the student's screen always displays black.
If I switch mirroring off, I get the same thing IF I pull up the student's screen on the projector display. But I can see it if I pull it up on the local display. And it still shows when I move it over to the second display. However, if it's on the projector display and I try to select a different display it goes black.
But the whole thing is kinda flakey. Sometimes it works one way, sometimes it doesn't.
It works better if I set the resolution on the external display to 1600x1024. But that looks badly stretched on the screen.
All of this started happening with the latest ARD update.
I tried the same thing from a MacBook and it works great.
I suspect that it is a mismatch between ARD and the video card in the iMac. (Model Identifier: iMac7,1). The Video card is ATI, RadeonHD2600.

  • Display disappearing in viewer and in ext monitor

I am at my second project using Color, so I'm pretty new to it.
The first time it worked out fine.
This time I am encountering a strange problem.
I send the project from FCP, it takes me a couple of times to get it to open in Color, but I finally make it.
Once in Color I start grading my shots. As soon as I drag a grade from one shot to another though, the displays disappear, either my external display than the one in the viewer on my computer monitors, and there's nothing I can do to get it back. I have to resend the project back from FCP, just to have the same problem occur.
Anybody has any idea why it's doing that?
    Thanks

Nope. We aren't looking over your shoulder so how can we tell based upon the information you've not given?
It would nice to know what video format you're working with. It would be nice to know if you've followed the stringent rules for prepping your sequences for Color. It would be nice to know your equipment software/hardware infrastructure.
But to throw a guess out there, since you're using a G5, I'm guessing your video card is substandard and not liking what you're using for video.

  • Problems View language change

How do I change the language in Flex Builder 3 Problems View?
This is Czech. I don't understand Czech. I want English.
    Can someone please help?

    Hi,
The DG834G Netgear that I had would not work without the DOS being Off and the Pings being allowed.
Do you still have the Port Forwarding setting Enabled ?
I am curious about the VPN.
Some VPNs are set up with an Internet connection as part of the process.
It sounds like this one is not. iChat cannot resolve two connections to the Internet (Wifi and Ethernet at the same time for instance)
The No Data for 10 Secs message means you were connected (even if you did not see any Video or hear any Audio).
The message means that iChat did not end the chat and that an external event did, such as pulling an Ethernet cable, router failure, turning off the Mac's Airport card.
DOS work on a threshold basis and if it receives "Too much Data, Too Quickly" it cuts the port that this is happening on to "Protect" the whole connection.
This threshold cannot be changed and tends to be lower than iChat can Stream video over modern connection speeds.
I would try two things separately.
The SIP ALG is something I did not have on my Netgear.
iChat Uses SIP so I would try it with that ON.
Also try setting iChat menu > Preferences > Video Section > Bandwidth Limit to 500kbps
iChat 5 Can "See" your whole Internet Connection speed. (iChat 4 and Earlier was limited to a max of 1.5Mbps set in System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming - a setting that does not exist in Snow Leopard)
It could be that the new router allows faster throughput and that you have moved to iChat 5 meaning you are bumping into the DOS threshold.
Of course the issue could be at the other end. The log is not that specific about which end "Cut" the connection.

  • How can i view the Streams process through 10g OEM

I have successfully configured OEM on Oracle 10.1.0.3
    My question is:
How can i view the Streams processes and queues so that i could monitor its functionality.
In 9i Java Console OEM I was able to monitor Streams using the <Distributed> tab but I don't find any such option in 10g. Please help.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Raj

There's a message on the Database Administration page of EM10g.
"TIP      Use the Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console to manage Streams, Advanced Replication, Advanced Queues, XML Database, Spatial and Workspace."
At present there is no way through the EM10g Web Interface, and I understand the Java version which comes with 10g doesn't contain any 10g new features.
So I am still using OEM 9.2 in addition to EM10g
    Thanks,

  • Viewing video stream still drops connection with firmware 1.52.06

I have a BEFW11S4 (V.4) and installed a new firmware (1.52.06). I still lose internet connection after viewing a streaming video -- such as msn.com. I have viewed other postings on the internet and it appears that there are issues with Linksys firmware. Many say don't upgrade if you want to avoid the "streaming video bug." It appears that firmware 1.50.14 is the most stable. Unfortunately, the current firmware is 1.52.02. This is strange because a few months ago I downloaded the 1.52.06. Anyway, does anyone know where I can get the 1.50.14 version? I emailed Linksys tech support several times and the conclusion they gave me is that my router is defective. I don't believe this because the streaming video problem occurred right after I installed the 1.52.06 firmware, which strangely is unavailable on the website.
    Thanks.
    Ty

I  tried using the methods to determine the correct MTU size as listed on the linksys site they didn't work for me.
Using the format, ping -f -l [MTU SIZE] yahoo.com  ,worked but the result (adding 28 to that number) the linksys would not accept.
I finally just tried changing numbers then viewing a streaming video site. and found 1472 worked okay for me.  using the current software 1.52.06

  • Problems viewing Palladia HD channel

Very recently, I am having problems viewing the Palladia HD channel.  I can view the channel for a few seconds, but then I get a pop up on the screen that my set top box can view the channel and I need to upgrade my STB. (I can view other HD channels just fine).  I follow the on-screen instructions for upgrading the STB and it tells me that my STB is up-to-date.  Anyone else run into this problem?

    Woburn Mass Fios customer.
I had received the same screen message "setup box can not view the channel, need to upgrade the sdp box. I clicked the on screen ok and response was my box was up to date.
I called Verizon tech support today and talked with an engineer, he was unaware of the issue or error message. I told him what I had read here (model numbers QIP6200, mpeg4 format ,etc) but nothing registed with him. I calmly described the issue, the screen notifications and the response, he said he can only help if I have a technical problem and any box upgrades are handled by billing. transfered to billing, explained it, again, again never heard of it but they did find a tech who understood the problem.
Once I was connected with this tech (Jerry) , he understood and said a new box is on its way, the old 6100 series could not handle the new format and the new box would be a 7100 version 2. He said that the local provider is switching the channel format to a better stream method so that bandwith method would be reduced with no quality concerns over HD picture. . He also said that the conversion of most channels will occur within the next year or two and that there are other channels like Palladia that would require the new box. I've only run into this error with Palladia on my system at this time.
I asked him why some people I talked to earlier did not know anything about this issue and he said they must have been new and the box limitation was known for at least six months.
Suggestions to Verizon:  Perhaps an internal tech alert may or should be in the works.
Also fix the on screen automated help menu's as if it worked, I would have had a box on its way a week ago without spending an hour of my life talking to customer service today. It wasted their and my time.
Note to billing person, your system must be slow but the minutes of silence while you checked out my account had me wondering if I was on hold or mute. Introduce either background music or some verbal communications letting me know each step of the way would be nice.
Also no offers of free movies or other special deals. I'm hurt as you guys usually rock with the offers.

  • Is there a way i can view video streams to my mac on apple tv

This is more or less the same quesiton, just put another way:
I'd to rent TV episodes/movies from Amazon -- http://www.amazon.com/gp/prime?ie=UTF8&tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=2480937525&ref=pd_ sl_4jhisc5c2_e and show them on my HDTV via Apple TV.

I'm experiencing a similar problem with an LG Flatron monitor which my MBP no longer recognizes.  I've tried installing all the updates listed above but have not been succesful. Everytime I get a message saying that this software is not supported on my system. Can anyone tell me why I can't install the updates?

    Hello Philly,
I believe that when you reset your ipod(command given from the computer, right?)  touch WHILE the ipod was updating, It cleared the system in the middle of writing files, thus corrupting(equivalent of cutting of in the middle of a sentence) the basic running system.
I suggest you go to an apple store and ask for a technical diagonosis in person. they may offer to help if the problem is fixable. If your ipod is still under warrenty, i would guess it would be free/low cost.

  • Problem viewing some webpages

    Hey
Looking for some help with my macbook. I have been having problems viewing videos on youtube and i'm unsure of the problem. When i try to view a video it comes up with this message.
"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."
Also youtube doesn't look right. It looks like it is all in some kind of basic format with no graphics, ads, pictures etc. (Im not particularly computer savvy)
I've checked my all the settings are correct in preferences, i've updated flash player and made sure all other software is up to date and still no joy!
I had no important data on my macbook so i wiped it and reinstalled the OS and updated everything again, it still hasn't sorted the problem.
Im unsure what to do next, any ideas would be much appreciated.
PS i recently had someone's external hard drive plugged in to it, could i have got some virus from this??

Thanks for the swift reply greg.
I assumed it probably was not a virus but i thought i'd check anyway. Thats pretty much the reason i bought a mac.
I checked the preferences and JavaScript was already enabled and all other boxes checked also. It only seems to be youtube thats the problem so far although i have not been on many other websites since.
My internet connection is not particularly fast, i am using my college wifi network and it can often be very slow. I usually need to let videos load for a couple of minutes before i can watch.
I have had the Macbook for about a week and have been using it regularly. The problem only started yesterday. I also carried out all my apple updates yesterday, i'm not sure if this is what has led to the problem??

Problem viewing forms. This form is not supported with the current version of Adobe Reader.
Upgrade to the latest version for full support.
What exactly do I need to do?

That means you were probably using Adobe Acrobat to view PDF's. Acrobat is totally unnessary, you can view PDF's in Preview (Applications - Preview).
BTW PLEASE complete your profile. It's very difficult to help  someone when they don't provide any information about their system. You can easily do this by clicking Your Stuff in the upper right of this page, then click Profile and fill in the pertinent information.

  • Viewing HD on SD monitor... something amiss

Is this normal? I have a ProRes Compressor setting in Sequence settings and DVC Pro HD as my sequence setting. I am viewing on an SD monitor using a Firewire cable attached to a DSR-25. Far as I know this deck does not have any downconvert settings for HD to DV. How am I able to view this. It is keeping up with every frame, over a network even... Is that what ProRes does? It isn't premium quality or anything... that is... I wouldn't try to color correct with it... but I am just surprised I can see anything at all... Did I miss a memo or something...?

I thought FCS2 allowed for HD formats to be monitored in SD. I found this in the manual under new features in FCP 6/External Video Monitoring. Not sure this helps. Perhaps the sequence compressor setting needs to be set to SD uncompressed.
    External Video Monitoring
You can now output to external video interfaces whose settings don’t match those of
your sequence. Here are some examples of some of the possibilities:
A DV or HDV sequence output to an SDI signal on a third-party interface
An uncompressed NTSC or PAL sequence output to a DV FireWire output
An HDV sequence output to a DV FireWire output
Sequence and output formats must have compatible frame rates. For example,
sequences with a frame rate of 60, 30, or 24 fps can be output to a 30 fps device,
but not to a 25 or 50 fps device. Also, when an output device does not match your
sequence settings, additional real-time processing is required. This means that
segments that already require a lot of real-time processing power may need to be
    rendered to play back.
