HELP! Problem viewing Youtube videos.
Hello,
I am having problems viewing Youtube videos. Everything was great until the other day. I have not changed anything on my computer to create this problem.
Diagnosis:
when viewing videos straight from youtube.com with Safari, it loads and starts to play the video & audio. after the first second the visual video disappears and the audio keeps playing. I can scroll throughout the video, but no picture.
I do not understand, I have updated everything and still same outcome. It was working the other day fine and then boom, no video. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Thank you for you help,
BSounds like a problem with Flash. I'd recommend visiting Adobe's web site and updating to the most current version for OS X.

Problems viewing Youtube videos
Hi. I have a newbie question and my english is not very good. Do I have to change the flashplayer to view the videos of this channel correctly. Geldanlage Finanzberater - YouTube
As I know chrome uses flashplayer, right?
Thanks in advanceWell, tried several things.
Used AMDDrivertest (or something like that) to detect whether the most recent drivers for the videocard, which seems to be okay.
Then, tested again (to be sure) if youtube video's played well when Shockwave Flash was deactivated. Yes it did.
So I deinstalled Flash, and rebooted pc.
Then downloaded and installed a quite old version of Shockwave Flash (11.6.8.638) and yes, youtube video's played well. But, then again, of course, the tv-site didn't work, for it needs the newest Flash player.
So, uninstalled the flash again, debooted.
Then, downloaded and installed the Shockwave Flash version as I have on my laptop, which is 11.9.900.170.
And ... youtube vid's did'nt work again.
And... the tv-site does work. :-|
I looked into the processes which could be related to Adobe Reader or Acrobat, (I have Creative Cloud) and stopped all those.
Still no changes.
So, for now, I don't know what else I could do, other than watch youtube only at my laptop :-) (better for my workflow I guess :-)
Could it be something with Creative Cloud? Seems to me it couldnt' for I stopped those processes. I don't use that on my desktop.
Still very strange.
The only thing I can think of theres' some kinda bug in the latest Shockwave versions.
I remember I had the same version as on my laptop installed before this one, then the problem started, and because of that I updated to the 12.0.0 43 version. -
Problems viewing Youtube videos when Adobe Reader is installed
Hi,
Since I installed Adobe Reader XI there are some issues viewing Youtube videos. The videos stop playing after about 2 seconds, or go back to zero.
First I tried to deactivate all plugins in Firefox (which I normally use; I also tried to play the videos in IE, but that didn't work as well).
Then activated one by one.
I use Windows 8.1 (had the same issue on Windows 8).
I got a Windows message, saying there is a problem with my videocard, from [date].
That same day I installed Adobe Reader XI.
So, I deinstalled it, and everything worked fine again.
Today I installed Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05, Dutch) and yoohoo, back to the same issue again: videos stop after 1 or 2 seconds.
Is this a known Adobe issue?Well, tried several things.
Used AMDDrivertest (or something like that) to detect whether the most recent drivers for the videocard, which seems to be okay.

One of the following steps should help.
1. Install Adobe Flash Player.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Quit Safari.
Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Enable Plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Web Content: > "Enable Plug-ins".
or
Internet Plug-ins > "Allow all other plug-ins
3. Check whether you are currently in YouTube HTML 5 trial.
http://www.youtube.com/html5
At the bottom left of the page uncheck the box for
"You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
4. Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the boxes next to all items.
Check the box next to "Remove all website data".
Click "Reset".
5. Turn off Extensions/Plug-ins if any that may interfere with Flash working properly.
Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Now try YouTube.

Recently having a problem viewing youtube clips embedded on to ppt
As a lecturer, I often insert youtube clips onto my ppt. Until about a month ago, I never had problems viewing the embedded youtube clips on my powerpoint files. Now, after having succesfully embedded the video clips, I keep getting this message as shown in the screen shot below. I have installed the newest version of flash player numerous times (my OS is Window Vista and the Flash Player version I have is 11.7.700.169, AND I mostly use Firefox but have the same problem on IE), turned off and back on several times, and uninstalled and reinstalled the Flasy Player many times, but nothing would work. I have tried embedding other youtube images as well as tried doing the same thing on other computers and I run into the same problem. I KNOW how to embed youtube videos into ppt files as I had done it a lot of times with no problem. I don't assume I am the only one experiencing this problem. Please help!
PS: Sorry, didn't know the screenshot doesn't work here. So the message I get is "To play the selected item, you must install a later version of the Adobe Flash Player. To download the Adobe Flash Player, go to the Adobe website."See similar topics

Problems viewing youtube "upgrade flash player "message
I'm having trouble viewing youtube I keep getting a warning to up grade my flash player and i do ,but to no avail . I'm stuck in a loop and can't view many videos ...Its all so frustrating Please Help
You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe. -
I am having a problem viewing YouTube videos in the latest version of Firefox.
I'm on Firefox 34.0 on a Windows 7 laptop. Up until recently I had no trouble viewing videos on YouTube. I would enter "youtube.com" into the browser address and it would take me to http://youtube.com. But now it takes me to "http://m.youtube.com/?", which appears to be a mobile YouTube viewer. And when I try to open a video there I get this message:
"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (rtsp) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context."
This just started after the latest version of Firefox uploaded to my computer. Why can't I access the normal Windows version of YouTube anymore? This problem has been fixed. I rebooted my laptop after clearing my Firefox cache and deleting all cookies. Once my laptop was rebooted, I opened Firefox and now I can access the regular YouTube site, not the mobile site.

Problem Viewing Youtube videos (skipping and stopp...
Hi there,
everytime i go to watch a youtube video the video will do one of a variety of things.
1. The video never plays it will just show the buffering ring
2. Videos that are short i.e. 30 seconds or so will start to play 1 or 2 seconds then skip straight to the end
3. The video plays fine and then pauses repeatedly
4. The video starts to play and somewhere during the video it skips right back to the start and plays from the beginning again.
As you can imagine these problems are persistant and extremely annoying to say the least. I would be very appreciative if anyone could offer any advice to sort these problems out. I have bt Infinity (if that makes any difference)
Cheers

Problem viewing YouTube Videos
All of a sudden I'm having difficulties viewing videos on YouTube in particular. Video takes too long to load, frames are jerky, counter keeps going back and forth at the end of the video. Moreover, my Mac is very slow during the process and almost crashes if I try to maximize or minimize window, or work with other applications. The rainbow disc is almost always there. This happens only on YouTube. Could anyone please help?
N.B. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Flash Player. I tried repairing permissions (as they said on a Mac forum). I tried emptying cache and resetting Safari. I tried using TimeMachine to restore to an earlier time. I tried using MacKeeper to empty some space on the memory. I tried opening Safari in 32 bit mode, but it made things worse (videos were cut down to a couple of seconds). Nothing seems to work.

Since June 11, 2010, YouTube stopped playing videos. I uninstalled both Adobe Flashplayer 10 plugin and Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5., in IE 8, I have theAllow Active content to run files on My Computer checked, Download signed Active X controls is on prompt. And Run active x controls and plugins is enabled as well. I have Windows XP Home Edition. I re-installed both players again. I also saved the uninstaller to my desktop, making sure nothing is running before using it, which I haven't yet. Should I restart my system before using the un-installer?
Same here. I uninstalled and re-installed everything Adobe. I tried different browsers and updated everything. Still, the You Tube videos won't play. Even Facebook won't play them back. I can play back videos on other sites like Yahoo, so I'm assuming the problem is with You Tube and not Flash. I wrote to the computer manufacturer's customer service and they couldn't solve it either. My last option is to re-install the operating system but I'd rather not have to go that route.
You Tube does work on my work computer, so I'm assuming the problem has to do with an update of Flash. Still there's no excuse for things like this not working. -
Unable to view Youtube Vids-tried several programs
I recently down loaded the 4.5 OS for my curve 8310 and was excited to find it had a video recorder and straming capabilities.
However, when I ventured over to the youtube mobile site and clicked to play a video, I am directed to my media player but nothing happens. The same problem continued whentrying to use blueapple and even a third party you tube player. Java script is enabled and I have a curve 8310, v. 4.5.0.55.
Any suggestions?
Message Edited by MercifulVoodoo on 09-17-2009 12:38 PMWell, for starters, I would upgrade your device to a much more recent OS release... .55 is quite old, I am not sure streaming video worked on it anyway.
Here's a thread link to the most recent.

Hi, what version of Flash do you have?
See in each Browser which version of Flash it thinks it has...
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
If you need to re-enable an out-of-date version of Flash Player, you can do the following:
1. Navigate to the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins (Disabled) folder.
2. Drag "Flash Player.plugin" into /Library/Internet Plug-Ins.
3. If the browser is running, quit and restart it.

I just started having problems viewing youtube videos. Other videos on other sites appear to be working. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.
A friend recommended this and surprisingly I could watch the videos so apparently my issue is a Flash problem.
Try this test:
Try this, www.youtube.com/html5 and click 'Join the html5 trial' and see if you can watch videos then. If you can, it's a flash issue. If not, I have no idea.
If it's flash, I would upgrade FF to 5.0. I believe it uses built in flash, much like Chrome does. -
