Problem w/ Dell webcam monitor

I bought a Dell SP2008 LCD ws monitor w/ webcam recently, but my Mac Mini (running Parallel 3.0 & XP Home) has problem using the webcam. I spent 4 hours w/ the tech. guy at Dell, & he concluded that the chipset & audio drivers of the Mac Mini need to be updated/upgraded. His conclusion is based on the fact that the XP fails to update the chipset & audio drivers. I check the Support page of Apple but couldn't find any chipset or audio drivers download. Does anyone have the same problem as me? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I personally don't use Dell Webcam Central.  With my onboard dell camera lighting is always an issue when compared to my external cameras.  There may be a setting in the software that might be adjusting the lighting that doesn't come across when using it in Skype.  I also know that most onboard cameras have a poor ISO level.  You might want to try the generic Microsoft drivers to see if conditions change.   They have worked with my Dell onboard camera especially when the current drivers aren't fully compatible with Windows 8.x  I have used either successfully in Windows 7.

  • New Mac Mini with Lion Video Problem With Dell E228WFP monitor

Just purchased a new mini Mac 2.3 with Lion pre installed.  I connected to my old Dell E228WFPI monitor via the Mini Display to VGA adapter.  The mini mac worked fine for an hour until I put it to sleep.  It would not rewake.  After rebute the gray screen and apple logo appear with clock, but after clock screen to black and monitor goes to power saver mode.  Took unit to apple store twice and could not resolve problem by changing resolution or other methiods.  Finally, we learned that the system works fine using Belkin HDMI to DVI cable.  This Dell Monitor had DVI connector.  Hope this helps...

How can a computer that's been turned off (and I mean completely OFF) get a network request? Only a sleeping computer should react to such a request. If you're sure you shut down (Apple Menu, Shut Down), then only an internal power supply or logic board problem should cause this. The only way it could be software is if Lion is not shutting down the computer but is instead putting it to sleep. Is it a new Mac Mini? If so, you should have it replaced or repaired.

  • Dell U2413 monitor thunderbolt connection problem

I am trying to connect a Dell U2413 monitor to my mac computer. I have two macs, an early 2011 macbook pro and a mid 2011 iMac both computers are running Maverics software.I am trying to connect with a Thunderbolt cable from the computer to the mini display port on the monitor.
The monitor will not work on either of my computers. The monitor either goes into sleep mode or I get a message saying there is no signal coming from the computer.  The only menu item available on the monitor is to select the input port and this is set to mini display. As far as I know this setup should work OK.
I've checked out the monitor by connecting it to an old windows notebook with an HDMI cable and all as OK so the monitor appears to be working OK
As both macs only have 1 thunderbolt port I can't connect the monitor any other way.
Any ideas why the monitor will not work on the IMac  and how to get it working please?

This has been a known problem for a couple releases now (see for example Second display problem with 10.9.4 and 10.9.4 - Thunderbolt display for 6630M (Mini mid-2011) still broken ).
Apple simply doesn't give a scheiß about it - but please file a bug at https://bugreport.apple.com -- they will close it as a duplicate (perhaps of 16197028), but this is our only [impotent] recourse.

  • Color Calibrating a Dell u2711 monitor in 10.6

I bought the Dell u2711 monitor right before the Apple 27" monitor was announced. I have had a horrible time trying to get the color calibration right. I don't have a hardware color meter, but that hasn't been a real problem with past monitors.
It seems that the Dell monitor functions in a wider color space, so I am not getting predictable results using photoshop in sRGB (for web graphics) or in general. Even if I restrict the monitor to the sRGB colorspace, some colors, such as reds and yellows appear washed out, while blues look fine. If I use the standard color setting, the color is super saturated when compared to my MBP LCD.
What are the best practice settings for calibrating this monitor for day to day web work?

what if you change your white balance setting or gamma.
Try native white point and 2.20 gamma

  • Startup Conflict: Mac Air & Dell U2412M Monitor?

I've got a Dell U2412M monitor connected to my Macbook Air 11", running OS 10.8.5. But more than occasionally, the Air won't launch; I get the gray screen and the spinning beach ball. By unplugging the peripherals (the display port-to-monitor, the USB cable that runs from the computer to the monitor, and a USB hub), I seem to have isolated the problem as the USB cable that runs from the computer to the monitor. Anyone know why this happens, and how I can resolve the conflict?
I can launch by unplugging the peripherals, then plugging them in after the Air boots. But I'd like to get it working normally, if possible. Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Did you resolve issue?

  • WebCam NX/Webcam Monitor

I'm using the Webcam NX for a remote monitoring application with the Webcam Monitor software. I am sending images to an FTP server.
Problem: I can't store more than 0 images on the FTP server because the FTP transferred image file name is limited and recycles after 0 images, overwriting files on the FTP server.
Is there a way to date/time stamp the file name, or allow the incremental numbering to continue past 0 images?

  • Dell Webcam Central Download for Vista

I am unable to get download this software after following Dell's Instructions on their website.
Just recovered one of my older computers from a bad crash and would like to get this up and running.  Does anyone know where I can get a direct download for my XPS one a2010?
I don't know why Dell is making it so hard to get software that they provided with my computer originally.  They should have provided this on one of the disks that they sent with my system.

I am a little confused with the first sentence, did you mean

  • Illustrator keeps freezing after plugging in a new Dell U2715H monitor?

I just bought a new Dell U2715H monitor and ever since plugging it in Illustrator keeps freezing. It works for roughly 5-10 minutes then freezes. I just removed Illustrator CC and reinstalled so let's hope that works. Anybody else have this issue? What can I do to fix this problem?
    I'm running a MacBook Pro Retina 15", Mid 2014

A fresh copy of Illustrator has seemed to fix this freeze.

  • Mac Mini late 2012 with 2 Dell u2913wm monitors?

    Hey everyone,
I am currently using 2 19inch monitors connected to a late 2012 Mac Mini with the intel core i5 and the 4000 graphics. I have been looking and am either going to go for the dell 3007wfp's or dell u2913wm monitors depending on what is available at the time. I know the 3007wfp's are old but i'm not a fan of the current dell 30inch screens.
My question is would the Mac Mini be able to drive either of the screens? Keep in mind I want to run 2 of these monitors like I have been with the current 2. I could not go back to single monitor even with the ultra wide setup. ( Just me )
Would there be any problems you think i would encounter or would it be plug and play and work well???
    Thanks
    Dan

  • Macbook pro goes into power save mode with dell sp2208wfp monitor.

I have a macbook pro and am trying to connect it to a dell sp2208wfp monitor, I am using a hdmi cord and it goes straight to power save mode. My mac works on my roommates monitor and his PC works on my monitor but my mac doesn't work on my monitor. I've read the other forums and have found nothing. One guy suggested plugging the mac into a power source still nothing, any solutions before I try and sell this thing on craigslist?

Had the same issue a few months ago when I tried connecting to external monitor, it is only possible to run external displays from a Macbook Pro while the power cable is attached, if you try and connect to external display without having the charger attached the external display will flash your desk top for a second and then your Macbook Pro will go to sleep.  Hence connect your charger every time you wish to connect to external display, its not a problem with your Macbook Pro, it's just the way of Apple. Hope that helps.

  • Can I run two Dell 24" monitors with iMac 27" (5750) in portrait mode

Hi there, want to putchase the 5750-based iMac 27", but I have a pair of Dell 24" monitors I want to run with it, preferably both in portrait mode. Is this possible? Or if not, is it possible with some sort of adaptor/external graphics card?
    Thanks kindly for any help:)
    Shawn

    HI Shawn Glibson,
the imac has one video output. a 30 dollar adapter can be used to hook up a DVI display. (mini-display to dv adapter)
But you can add additional displays through a USB to DVI adapter. For instance see2 xtreame uv200 http://www.trittontechnologies.com/index.php/products/usbvideotechnology/see2-xtreme-uv200/ This is a great solution if you want to have another display for websites, office documents. a USB to DVI adapter isn't that great for 3D games.
    I hope that helps

  • Using a second DELL 1704 monitor ?

    Hi,
    I want to add my new Dell 1704 monitor as a second monitor to my mac;
I have purchased the Apple mini dvi adapter cable (how short is that!)
and have a DVI-i to the DVI-i cable into the dell monitor.
Ok, so it seems that the MAc knows its connected, as I can drag pages off the MAc screen
(but it does not show any other screen when I look in the display Preferences page)?
The dell does not display any image, just blank/black ; however when I disconnect the DVI-i cable it goes into screen sleep/test mode, and likewise wakes up when reconnected
(in doing so the mac screen also goes Blue, whilst it has a think)
I DO KNOW that other users on here, use an Imac with this very same DELL 1704 monitor
(nb I have checked it through VGA with my PC ((Grrr)) and it works fine)
Any ideas, why the Dell wont display the images ..?
    thanks.

So what happened when you started up from your Mac OS X installation disc with the Dell display connected?
I could still be the Dell display, since you are using the VGA connector in one case and the DVI connector in another. The VGA port could be working properly, and the DVI port could be faulty. The display probably has a switch for changing between the using the VGA port and the DVI port. Make sure it is set properly. Also, the display probably has an on-screen menu; be sure to check it for anything related to "sleep" mode. It may also have a recessed reset button to put it back to default settings. If so, try pressing it.
You are also not using that DVI cable when connecting with VGA, so it could be defective (or not compatible in some way). Unless you actually see an image on the Dell display momentarily before it goes to sleep, I have no idea what being "recognized" means. Even if a display is turned OFF, if the connection is properly recognized by Mac OS X, the screen should appear in System Preferences Displays pane Arrangement tab. If all the pins are not connecting, but some are, there may be some reaction when you connect them, but not actual recognition. So you could try another DVI cable (DVI-D); even a new cable can be bad. Take the adapter with you if you are buying locally, to makes sure the connector pins match.
The other two connection points are the Mini-DVI adapter and the iMac's port itself. You might try getting a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter, and connecting the Dell display using the VGA port, since the Dell display does work with the PC over it's VGA port.
As I said, you need to do tests to rule out each of the four possible connection points between the iMac and the Dell display.

  • Yoga 2 Pro with external Dell P2414H monitor - Win 8.1 issues

I have a UK model Yoga 2 Pro (Core i7/256GB/8GB). Generally happy with it but I have one weird issue that is annoying me.
The system is fully patched including all Windows updates and latest Lenovo BIOS and drivers.
At work I have a Dell P2414H monitor connected to my Yoga 2 Pro (micro HDMI to HDMI cable into an HDMI to DVI adapter plugged into the monitor's DVI port).
Windows recognises the Dell monitor in display settings. I can extend my desktop onto it. I can run the Cleartype Tuner and tune the laptop screen and Dell cleartype settings independently. All good so far...
In Taskbar and Navigation Properties (right click on the taskbar and select Properties) I expect to see a "Multiple Displays" section on the Taskbar tab with a setting that allows me to extend the taskbar across both screens, as per this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-8/how-connect-multiple-monitors.
However, whatever I try I never see the "Multiple Displays" settings in Taskbar Properties. I have rebooted with the external screen connected and not connected and tried everything else I can think of but all to no avail.
Is anyone else seeing a similar issue with an external monitor connected to their Yoga 2 Pro?

Discovered that if If I make the external monitor my primary screen, not the laptop, then Windows gives me the Multiple Monitor Taskbar settings back. However, I then have screen scaling issues so dialogues and the task bar etc. on the Yoga screen are tiny. Not ideal...
