Problem w/purchased music

So i purchased an album, in it there was a song that could only be played if you purchased the whole album. After i purchased it, all the songs played fine exept for that one song. When i clicked on it the first time, a window told me that my computer was not authorized to play or burn that song (even though it downloaded), and since then, everytime i click on it, it simply won't do anything. I have no intention of purchasing the whole album again to have access to this this song, so is there a way to rectify this problem?

  • Problems dowloading purchased music

I recently bought a new computer. It has Windows Vista and I downloaded Itunes 7.0.2.16. I can download podcasts, but I just purchased two full albums and I am getting a stopped (err = -3259) message and nothing will download. What happens if it never is able to download? They say (somewhere on this website) that they are working on an Itunes upgrade that might fix the problem, but what happens to my purchased music if I can't download it? Irritated!!

  • Problem Authorizing Purchased Music

I recently upgraded Tiger to Leopard, and since then have been asked to authorize some purchased music and am running into some problems.
100 purchased and previously authorized songs are not playable. When I try to play the song on my computer, a message comes up saying I need authorize the song. The user ID that appears is "maryorourke," my user ID minus the rest of the email address. I cannot authorize these songs without a valid user ID. I have no idea how these songs came under the invalid ID or how to reset these songs. All other songs are under a valid user ID.
How do I fix this problem?
    Thanks!

    hiya!
these resources should be helpful with that:
    Using iPod with multiple computers
    Managing songs manually on iPod
Copying music between authorized computers with iTunes for Windows

Hi I have the same problem - an album has been downloading since end of January and not progressing.  Everything I have purchased since seems to be in a queue to download behind this album.  Any ideas how i can fix this please

  • Problems with 'Purchased' Music showing up as 'Error' in Match

I'm mystified by one aspect of iTunes Match behaviour.  I have a large collection of U2 songs, some of which I had ripped from CD and some of which, latterly, I bought through iTunes.  As you can see, most of the songs I have were found and matched by iTunes without a problem.
What I don't understand is why I am seeing Error against the songs from 'No Line On the Horizon' and 'Zooropa' when these were purchased from iTunes.  They are definitely in my Library because I can manually locate them.
Additionally, I don't understand why for two of the songs, Zooropa and Lemon, it wants me to download them again as 'Purchased'.  Why those two and not the others with Errors against their name?  I bought the No Line and Zooropa tracks from Apple to begin with.
Thirdly, it appears from the iTunes list above that I have two copies of Zooropa when in fact I only have one.  I can easily find the files in Finder as you can see from the screen shot below.
I don't really want to have to re-download all the songs that iTunes can't find as this will mean I just have duplicates. Equally, I don't want to have to re-attach or re-import Error songs that I know are on my HD and which have somehow been dropped by the iTunes Match process.
And I get terribly confused in this process of syncing and matching if I try to delete some of these duplicate entries, because frankly if I delete something and it's removed from iCloud and all my devices, I'm no longer quite sure what I'm removing and where from.
I have backup but should it be this difficult?

    It can become confusing.
An easy route to resolve would be simply to copy your U2 Songs to a standalone folder (outside iTunes).  Delete the Song files from iTunes (including the option to remove from the iCloud).  Once complete, turn iTunes Match off, go to the iTunes Store 'purchased' area and access all your U2 purchases.  From the U2 folder import any further U2 songs that were not purchased from iTunes.
Now sign-out of iTunes Store, restart computer from cold, start iTunes, sign-in to iTunes Store, start iTunes Match and allow is to complete the 3-step process.
At this point iTunes will correctly recognise all your purchased Songs and for the remainder will have successfully 'matched' or 'uploaded'.
This should leave your library in a stable working condition, with iTunes Match enabled and all U2 Songs.

  • Problems Transfering Purchased Music

I'm having a problem transfering my purchases from my iPod to iTunes. My last computer crashed, so using it is not an option. I've authorized my new computer, but each time I try and transfer, it still says the it is not authorized. Any suggestions?

Not sure what the problem is--but you're trying to take things from your iPod back to your new computer setup, correct?
Do any of these articles/posting help?

  • Can anyone help with a problem transferring purchased music PC to mac?

I have recently moved from a PC to a macbook pro, and have previously purchased 10 or so albums from iTunes store that quite happily updated to my iPod so that I could play them.
I used iPodutil to transfer all of my music to my new mac iTunes library, reformatted my iPod for my mac, but on syncing to get all of the songs from my mac back onto my iPod, find that "these songs were purchased for another computer, and cannot therefore be downloaded to your iPod". Essentially everything that I have (ironically) legally paid for through iTunes refuses to download to my iPod because it is not the original PC I purchased them on??
Does anyone have a fix for this, or is the "switch" from PC to mac going to deny me my favourite and legally purchased tracks?
    Thanks in advance
    Andrew
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.1)

Have you authorized your Mac to the iTunes Store account under which you purchased these tracks? If not, you need to do so, either by playing one of the tracks or by using the Authorize command under the Store menu in ITunes.
If you have, but haven't played the tracks at least for a few seconds, try than and then try transferring them to your iPod. Sometimes the authorization doesn't "take" until the track is first played in iTunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problems Downloading Purchased Music From iTunes Store

I recently purchased an album from the iTunes store and received a notice saying one song couldn't be downloaded. This song originally showed up in gray and couldn't be clicked on, played, etc and did not show any way to properly download it without purchasing the song again. Based on my calculations, I was still charged the full amount of the album despite not being able to download one of the songs. How do I go about downloading this song without paying the $1.29 again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

in the itunes store click on Purchased under the Quick Links section
Navigate to the music you want to re download and click on the Cloud icon to the right of it.
It will download a fresh copy at no extra cost

  • Problem with purchased music download

I have a problem that has only just manifested itself.
When I purchased a track yesterday the following error message appeared.
Unable to check for purchases. An unknown error occurred (5002)
    Can any one please assist.
    Thanks
Mesh Computer/ ipod 80 gig video   Windows XP

Error 5002 is a timeout error.
    - You may be trying to download at high traffic hours and your connection speed cannot handle it. (make sure you are using broadband)
    - Your computer's firewall or antivirus software may be interfering with the connection. If you have just recently installed upgardes to the iTunes software or your computer's security software, you may need to reconfigure it to allow access to the iTunes appliction. If configuring does not work, you will need to disable the firewall completely and then attempt to resume the download.
    Hope this helps!

  • Odd problem with purchased music from ITMS

Hi everyone. I purchased some songs on a friends computer via itunes with my account, but when bringing them over to my computer itunes asked me to authorize my computer. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Starxedhearts
Although you bought them on your account, iTunes has attached them to your Friends account - being the machine you downloaded them on. Your options are:
    1. Contact the iTunes Store and try and sort it out with them or
    2. Burn the tracks to CD on your friends machine and then import them to yours.
    Regards

  • Problems playing purchased music on itunes!!!!

I just downloaded an entire album.
I went to play it through itunes and when there's still about three seconds of a song left, it goes right into the next song,....it just blends one into the other!! I tried setting the stopping time for each song and it won't let me! Is there something i'm missing that I can do?
If not, then what the ****!?? Did I just pay for music that I can't even control and loose three seconds of ech song??!! If so, than this is a total rip off!
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
Open iTunes preferences and click on the Playback Tab. Make sure the Crossfade option is turned off and your songs should no longer fade into eachother. It you like the feature you can adjust the length of the fade.

  • Problems playing purchased music from account

I have been having trouble getting audi playback on my itunes account. We recently installed itunes on a new desktop computer in our basement. I purchsed 2 songs which downloaded. I authorized the computer to play and was able to playback both songs (the only two in the library) This was our 5th computer authorized on this account. When I synch'ed the ipod to transfer all purchased songs (about 165), they all showed in the computer library, bu now none will play, including the two I just purchased.
Not sure if it is related, ut another computer at work which had been previously authorized could not play samples nor would it allow me to purchase songs. Anyone have any ideas?

Email iTunes support using the form at the bottom of this page & they'll let you redownload the songs - It sounds like the files didn't download correctly.

  • I updated to itunes 11 and all my purchased music is gone.

After I updated my computer to itunes 11 all of my purchased music disapeared. When I go to the itunes store however, it lists all of my purchases, but when I try to download them again it tells me I have to purchase them again....Is there anyway of getting my music back? I am logged onto the same username as I purchased them with, so that's not the problem either. Any help?

I had the same problem, cloud purchased music was gone from my computer after upgrading. But I read some more support stuff and they suggested removing the songs from your computer but don't delete the file and then you can download again from the cloud. Otherwise I wasn't getting the option to download - no need to rebuy music. Apple needs to know this was a problem though! Hope this is helpful to you. It is a pain but saving alot of frustration as to how to get it back. Good luck.

  • Nano won't play purchased music from iTunes 6!

Is there anyone else that is having problems playing purchased music from iTunes 6 on your iPod? My 4GB iPod nano is not playing (i.e. skipping over) songs that I have purchased AFTER I upgraded to iTunes 6. My iPod software is up-to-date and I tried resetting the iPod, but neither helped. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.
    -Ben Powell

From what I've read, resetting your nano erases the music, etc. from your nano, putting the software back to its original state.
This really has to s*ck, but if it works, its good that you can fix it that way. It does, however, make a great real life case for backing up your music.
I've been using software (no I don't work for them) called e-backup for my email. I have receipts and other email from 2002! But, the point: it allows you to backup other folders/files. I included my music as an option yesterday because I remember losing term papers, etc. that I didn't backup to floppy or disk. Just in case!

  • How to transfer non purchased music back to iphone

    Hi
I recently had to to a system restore on my iphone 3gs as there was a 'bug' apparently during an earlier sync process. I back up to icloud to make things easier which it did.
One problem, all purchased music does get synced over except 93 songs which i assume are music purchased or transferred to my library using other sources. Is there a way for me to transfer all that music and complete my library the way i originally had it prior to restoring my iphone?
bdw, i check selected songs from my library which is about half of them to sync with my phone. So, only have of the checked ones (93 of them) are synced over.
Any help would be grateful, thanks in advance

All your music should still be in iTunes on your computer. Isn't that the case? Simply select it in iTunes for syncing to your iPhone.
If for soome reason the iTunes library is incomplete, you can redownload all your purchases again for free. Sign in to iTunes Store using tthe Apple ID you used to purchase the tracks; select Purchased from the Quick Links section in the right-hand sidebar; redownload.
The title of your post mentiones non-purchased music, but the text body does not. Is that an issue you also have?
