Problem w/ right speaker!!!

Hello, I have an annoying problem with my speaker system. Its the Creative Labs Inspire 2.1 2500 series. I used to have 5.1 but my **bleep** cat chewed em up. My sound card is the Sound Blaster Live!. I have updated all the drivers, and tested the system, but for some reason the right speaker will not work. Ive tried switching the speakers around and it still does not work. Ive checked all the balance issues and what not. And I tried reinstalling the sound card also. I really dont know what else to do, its annoying cause Im only getting sound from the left speaker and the woofer. Any suggestions on what I can try? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well, the problem could be the soundcard end, have you tried other devices (ie mmp3 players) and other cables? If that doesnt help then perhaps different speaker wire?If not then the output for the right speaker is the fault and you may need to get it repaired.

  • Problem with right speaker (W510 model)

    Hi All,
The right internal speaker doesn't work. Left speaker is ok.
I installed latest updates from Lenovo web site via Lenovo ThinkVantage Website. Also, I installed latest updates for Windows 7. But I got the same problem.
Anybody meets with such problem? Is there solution?
    Regards,

My right speaker is starting to crack, while playing music or a game. I would get it replaced

  • Speaker problems N586 bad right speaker

Does the grill on the speakers pop right off?  My right speaker sounds like it is blown.  I would like to make a visual inspection before replacing speaker.  If I found a tear I might apply some nail polish to get rid of the vibrations.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Okay, I am posting the rather simple solution since Lenovo has been of absolutely no use.
Speakers are purchased on line for less than $3 including shipping in used condition.
Turn the laptop over and remove the battery and power supply
Remove the screws for the keyboard (3).  You will see keyboard icon next to the screw holes.
Gently pry out the keyboard starting above the top row of keyes.  A small nail file of jewelers screwdriver will help.  There is a video on line to show this procedure on a different popular website.
Once keyboard is removed, unplug the ribbon for keyboard by lifting on the horizontal bar that holds the ribbon cable.
Put keyboard aside, blow clean if necessary.
Flip laptop again to reveal all of the screws on the back.  Remove all screws and make notes on where they go for reassemble.
After all screws on rear are removed, flip laptop rightside up.  Look for Lenovo oval sticky.  Last screw is under this piece of paper,  Peel this off to remove the final screw.
Use a thin putty knife to slide around edge and pop the laptop main faceplate around keyboard.  It has snap fittings every inch or two. Do this all the way around including between the 8 inches between hinges.
Remove the main faceplate  and disconnect 2 ribbon cables by pulling on the BLUE tabs.
Speakers are now exposed and can be replaced.  You will probably have to remove one motherboard screw at 12 oclock position in order to remove the left speaker wire.
    Reassemble in reverse.
Main faceplate will require ample pressure to snap back into place.  Dont forget to snap the 4-5 positions between the hinges.
Thanks to me and no thanks to Lenovo for their meaningless advice.

  • MBP 17" report, occasional white noise from right speaker

My 2.16Ghz MBP with 100GB 7200rpm drive and 1GB memory arrived a few days ago. Since then I have been installing software, running apps, and generally putting it through it's paces. I have also added a 1GB stick from Crucial. On the whole the MBP has been great, except for a few (hopefully minor) problems:
    1. It gets quite warm on the left palmrest, and gets uncomfortably hot between the keyboard and the screen. This is just during casual use, web surfing, downloading updates etc. The case temperature is about the same as my old 667MHz TiBook after it had been at 100% CPU for several hours (encoding video). I dread to think how hot the MBP will get doing something demanding.
    2. When closed the screen appears to be slightly bent, the gap at the two front corners is about 1mm wider than the gap at the latches.
    3. I have started to get hard crashes during the boot up sequence. Specifically after the grey apple I get the greyed-out multi-language reboot message and have to reboot. If I continue trying to reboot it eventually manages to get past the grey apple and boot up normally (usually this takes 2 or 3 attempts). I suspect this is due to something I've installed, possibly some Canon software for my MP750 printer.
    4. I have now heard a white noise/static sound coming from the right speaker on 5 occasions. Three of those occasions were while booting (one of them was when I first turned the MBP on! Not a good sign). The computer boots normally, but with this strange noise! The other two times where when I was launching apps. On each occasion the noise lasted about 3-5 seconds before stopping. It's more of a hissing noise, not a mooing or a whining noise. It sounds exactly like the speakers on a vinyl record player when the needle is in between songs.
Obviously all of the issue are annoying. However I'm only REALLY concerned about item 4. Item 1 was kind of expected after doing some pre-purchase research. Item 2 is annoying in a £1800 laptop, but I can reluctantly live with it. Item 3 is frustrating but I'm sure I can 'cure' it by removing software (it only started happening after a day or two of fairly heavy use). Item 4, on the other hand, is intolerable
Anyone have any suggestions? Advice appreciated. The nearest Apple store is about an hour away, so advice other than "take it to a Mac 'genius'" would be appreciated.
    17" MacBook Pro 2.16GHz Mac OS X (10.4.6) 2GB RAM

Well, that was 15 minutes of life wasted typing out the above post that I'll never get back
I was hoping for some sort of 'expert' advice from all the users here with thousands of posts. Evidently not.
Anyway ... I have (kind of) fixed the problem myself. Resetting the power management unit almost completely solves the static noise problem. I say almost, because since resetting the PMU (about 2 weeks ago now) I have heard the static noise ONCE. This is compared to hearing it around 3 or 4 times a day prior to the PMU reset.
This at least makes me slightly more confident that this is a software/firmware glitch, rather than a hardware fault.
    Hope this helps someone.

Hi, basically i have 3 sets of creative i-trigue 3400 purchase as second hand. All these 3 sets have some minor problem. I trust my ability i able to repair it as iam a professional electronic engineer. Just need some advance information or guidance from creative big brother and sister.
i do check with the controller everything, because i have 3 sets so i able to verified the problem.
1)subwoofer not output----Is it problem with amplifier or any transistor damage? How do i start checking and verified it?
2)right speaker low output compare with left speaker----I already analysis it and would like to know is it the transistor prolem? Please let me know so i can start with my repairing.
From what i know, this model seem like going to discord soon, so is it possible send me a partial schematic on the 3400 so i can repair. Please let me know and reply me, i am waiting your answer. Thank you

  • Right speaker no longer works?

Hey everyone. So the right speaker on my Macbook Pro just stopped working properly. When I go into the system preferences > sound > output and try to just have it come out of the right speaker (instead of having it balanced between the 2), it comes out really quiet and with this weird echoing/tinging sound. Any advice? There hasn't been any damage or injury to the computer... Thanks!

Without knowing exactly what is wrong, hard to tell if MBP is worth getting fixed. An Apple Store will diagnosis the problem for free. Ask them how much the repairs will be. Once you find out what the problem is, call an AASP & ask about the cost of repairs. May be cheaper than an Apple Store.
If you are a do-it-your selfer check out iFixit and TakeItApart.
Search YouTube for Macbook Pro “How To” tutorials.

  • Gt 683r right speaker pitches at high volume, suggestions ??/

    Hi,
I have an gt 683r gaming laptop, however there seems to be a problem with the right speaker as at high volume it starts to pitch and it makes listening to music annoying.
Does anybody have the same problem, and how could it be solved.
    Thx

Contact your reseller and send it to RMA would be my advice.
I'm not award of any apart issue on this model, probably it is an hardware issue and only solution would be RMA.

  • My right speaker suddenly stopped working

My right speaker suddenly stopped working. Does anybody know what could have happened or how I can fix it? Thanks!

Just to make certain that it's not an OS setting, check in your System Preferences>Sound and make sure that your balance is set in the middle:
If it is, and you're still having problems, you could also try resetting the SMC and the PRAM/NVRAM. If that doesn't help, it's likely a hardware problem that will have to be addressed by a trip to your local Apple Store or an AASP.

  • HP DV7T Quad: Audio is louder from right speaker then left speaker!

I've seen this issue posted on other sites like notebookreview, notebookforums etc but there doesn't seem to be any fix for it...which makes no sense to me.  The right speaker in my notebook is louder then the left one is.  The only way to compensate for the problem is to lower the "balance" in the sound properties for the right speaker (I have it all the way down to 70 if you can believe that!)  Now my audio sounds even between the left and right speaker.  I think it's ashame that seems to be the only fix for the problem.  Not sure if this is a driver issue or a hardware issue.
NVidia installs audio drivers to the computer when installing the video drivers (which I still don't understand why...I thought NVidia was a graphics company?)  Then I install the IDT drivers/software afterwards.  HP has verified that this is correct so everything on my end is up to date...minus of course offical drivers for the 320M video card that everyone is still waiting on!
    Any solutions to this?

    Thanks for the info

  • Need advice about rattling right speaker

Hello. I have a MacBook Pro that is only 13 days old. The right speaker rattles quite annoyingly with certain sounds, including many system sounds, and even at low-moderate volumes. I can also feel a strong vibration under that speaker and under the keys along the right side of the keyboard. In many cases, if I lightly touch those keys, the rattling stops.
My question is whether anyone else has had luck getting this problems fixed? Or is this just something we have to deal with? Otherwise, my MBP is working beautifully and I hesitate to bring it in for fear of getting it back with something else wrong.
Any advice or anecdotes would be appreciated!

My UMBP also has the same problem. It is more of a resonating vibration on the right side of the the computer. I have sent my computer in twice and the first time they replaced the right speaker and the second time they had it for a week and then said it was normal. The mac specialist is now looking into it for me.

  • Crackling sound from right speaker - Envy 14 Beats edition

The right speaker on my Envy 14 Beats edition has a crackling/static sound when playing any sort of sound from it.  I assumed it was a faulty speaker since its just the right speaker..  I've talked to HP support and they had me send it in.
After two weeks I got it back only to find that they simply changed some audio configurations in an attempt to fix it.  Nothing has changed and the problem still exists.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is some sort of fix for this without me having to send it back to them to replace the speaker.

Hello tedebare73.  I understand your notebook is making a weird sound from the left speaker.
Are there any other electronic devices (guitar amplifiers, cell phones, speakers) around the notebook?  These can all cause very strange noises.
Try hard resetting the notebook as well.  Here are the steps.
    Shut down the notebook.
Remove the battery and AC power.
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds three times.
Replace the battery and AC power.
    Verify whether the problem persists.
Finally, if neither of the above have an effect try removing and reinstalling the driver.  Here are instructions.
    Go to your Device Manager.
Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.
Right click on your audio device and select "Uninstall."
Reboot the notebook.  Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
    Verify whether the problem persists.
Let me know the results.  Have a wonderful day!
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

  • Satellite L850 - right speaker is not working, Win7/ 32-bit

Satellite L850 right speaker not working in Win 7/ 32-bit
    Only Headphone speaker stereo OK.
    Thank you for your good advice;
    Kind Regards, Joh

Check please if Toshiba PC diagnostic tool is preinstalled on your notebook.
If yes start it and check hardware functionality.
I presume this tool will ends with the same result. On this virtual way we cannot say for sure right diagnostic but I presume the speaker is either defective or there is some problem with the speaker cable.
Good advice? Contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

  • No sound in right speaker/headphon

I bought the sound blaster Audigy 2 ZS and for while everything was working well. Than day i lost sound in my right speaker than i tried my headphones but my left speaker was fine i was still getting sound from only my left speaker/headphones. Thinking i had a damaged sound card i went out and got the sound blaster li've 24 bit. After i installed it the same problem was happend. I still dont have sound in my right speaker/headphone. I tried everything i updated my drivers and even changed my sound card pci bus slot and nothing worked. Right now i have the Sound blaster li've 24 bit installed.

Hey, I've just had this same problem happen to me within the past two weeks except that it's with all my freakin' sound equipment (speakers/headphones/canalphones) and the last item happened within the past hour or so. I'm also using the Elite Pro ($375).
It first happened with my 5. Klipsch speakers ($200) and I figured it was the speakers that went bad because all I get now is a loud shrilling sound when I power up without even having to play anything. However, about a week later, my Sennheiser headphones ($80) lost sound in the left side and I figured it was a huge string of bad luck since the audio problems were slightly different. This time though, like two days later, since I gotta have my gaming and also music, I hooked up my Shure earcanals ($75) and now the left side of those has almost disappeared like my other headphones. The right is real loud like normal with both, but almost nothing in the left side and/or completely gone and sometimes I hear a crackling shrill sound similar to the speakers.
With all three of those going bad, it has to be the sound card. I swapped slots, reloaded drivers and all that, but I still have the problem. I even tested my headphones at least (not the speakers since they're bulkier) on my MP3 player, Nintendo DS, and other computer with an xtrememusic in it, and the left side of those headphones are still shot. Did the soundcard somehow disable the left sides and they can be reactivated somehow or are they now completely shot? What's up and can something be done about my sound card damaging those items? Cause now I'm PO'd as that's a lotta freakin' money. They outta be able to be replaced under the other companies warranties, but I don't want this problem to happen again if I receive them back.
    Thanks,

  • Sound from front right speaker not working, playing out of le

I have a Soundblaster X-Fi Fatalty and it'ss a little under year old with all current drivers. The front right speaker plays no sound but the front left speaker plays what is supposed to come out of the front right. I have it set on the 5. surround sound but it doesn?t work on any other settings. A week ago everything was working fine I have not installed anything new since then. I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or something set wrong on my computer. Does anyone have a solution or know what may be causing this? Also I checked the speakers, they work fine.Message Edited by Nowise0 on 0-04-2006 03:52 PM

I ghave this same problem with an XFi Elite pro card and a 5. speaker system. To get sound coming out all 5 correct speakers and subwoofer i have to select 7. speaker set up then 5., then 6. and finally 5. again then it works fine - I have to do the selection in THX from game consule mode to get it to work.
