Problem w/ US holidays calendar

I have tried to subscribe to Apple's US Holidays Calendar, but it will not download. Instead I get the following message:
Data downloaded from http://ical.mac.com/ical/USHolidays.ics is not valid
Is this my problem or Apple's? Thank you.

I, like you, subscribe successfully using this link:
http://ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics
The link from the page you just pointed to is invalid for me. It's missing the 32 embedded between the US and Holidays portion of the URL. For reference, the linked file is:
webcal://ical.mac.com/ical/USHolidays.ics
Changing the webcal: string to http: results in this dialog:
Changing URL for calendar "US Holidays" failed.
Data downloaded is not valid.

  • Problem in generating Holiday Calendar

    Dear All,
I have created Holiday Calendar for 2009 through SCAL. After that I had generated work schedule rule through PT01. But after generating work schedule, 19th Oct,2009 which was marked as public holiday in the calendar is not coming as an OFF day in work schedule.
Please suggest how to rectify this error.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kanupriya

    Hi friend
First please check your Holiday Calender.  See whether the holiday is assigned to your holiday calender and make sure that you have assigned to your personnel subarea grouping and employee subgroup grouping.  Once you finish that, please run PT01.  After this go to PT03, give the correct information like the employee grouping, holiday calender, personnel subarea grouping and work schedule rule.  Give the current year 012009 to 122009 and select the ALV list and display the information.  If all the specified information is given correctly, it will work.

  • Problem with holiday calendar

    Hi Experts,
I need to configure different holiday calendars for worker and managemnet employee group in the same personnel area and sub area.I am not able to configure this as under "Set work schedule rule" node we can specify only holiday calendar per personnel area and sub area.
Please let me know if there is any way to achieve this.

Thnaks Sikindar and Sheetal for you replies.
Actaully i was talking about view V_001P_M. in this view when we maintain holiday calendars for personnel area and sub areas, infotype 0007 will show (in search help) only those work schedule rules which has got the same holiday calendar in it.
    example:
I have already created two calendars say ZM for management and ZW for workers for personnel area (say) MUMB and personnel sub area (say) 0001. i have assigned ZM holiday calendar in V_001P_M for PA MUMB and PSA 0001.
I have also generated two WSR with ESG grp 1 from Management and 2 for workers. WSR for management is generated with ZM calendar and for workers with ZW calendar.
now when i got to infotype 7 to assign workschedule rule for a worker in same PA and PSA it display only 1 workschedule rule in the serach help which is for management (coz i have mentioned ZM in V_001P_M). Now how to assign woker's workschedule rule?

  • Problem in maintaining Public Holiday Calendar

    Dear All,
I have to maintain Public Holiday Calendar for 2009. For that I have maintained the holiday dates in Change Public Holidays. Please guide me as to how do I assign these holidays which I have maintained to Public Holiday Calendars being used in different PSA's?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kanupriya

    hi,
for appearing in the holiday calendar of 2009, the Validity year of ur holiday calendar should contain the year  2009. say,
    Valid  Fr.year  2008
           To year  2010
For the day to be a OFF day u have to re-generate the existing work schedule as i mentioned earlier. Only then the new holidays assigned to ur holiday calendar will be taken by the Work Schedule.
U must give the same Holiday class to ur new holidays (Same that u used to create ur earlier holidays to avoid confusions......)
    Regards

  • ICal 'Show Holidays calendar' not showing holidays in Australia after upgrading to Yosemite.

Hello, I had been in Italy before moving to Australia and I had set Show Holidays calendar in iCal to display Italian holidays. When I've moved to Australia, I've changed the regional settings to Australia and therefore iCal was showing Australian holidays. After I've upgraded to Yosemite, I can't see any holidays anymore. I tried to uptick 'Show Holidays calendar' and reboot Yosemite, then tick it back and it is still not working for Australia. if I change my regional settings for instance for Italy, it works. It just refuses to display Australian Holidays so for now I'm forced to use Google calendar subscription for public holidays.
How can I restore the iCal 'Show Holidays calendar' ?

    Hi guys,
I had this problem too. I resolved it by going into System Preferences  > Language & Region and making sure the primary language was "English (U.K.)" under primary languages (i.e. at the top of the list of preferred languages).
I always had this set before, but I think upgrading to Yosemite changed this setting to "English" (without the "U.K.) which I guess is a generic "countryless" language. I believe the holidays setting in the calendar needs to know which country's holidays to display.
Hope this helps this waiting for a fix...

  • No 'Holidays' Calendar

I want to enable the 'Holidays' calendar in Calendar on my Mac Pro. I opened Preferences>General and both "Show Birthdays Calendar" and "Show Holidays Calendar" are already checked. I have a 'Birthdays' calendar, but no 'Holidays' calendar. I've unchecked and rechecked the option, to no effect.
The 'Holidays' calendar appears in Calendar on my iMac, so I checked there to see what was different, but the settings are the same. On the iMac, I unchecked "Show Holidays Calendar" to see if the 'Holidays' calendar disappeared and it did. Then I rechecked the box ... and the calendar didn't reappear. I now don't have a Holidays calendar on my iMac either, and it looks like some upgrade has broken this functionality.
I found 'New Calendar Subscription' in the File menu, but it wants a URL and I don't know the URL of the 'Holidays' calendar.
Can anyone help me out of this mess? It's the Australian holidays calendar I need.
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve  = : ^ )

Thanks, I found an Australian Holiday's calendar there.
You're right that it's not the 'Holidays' calendar that I previously had. That was at the bottom of the Calendars list (with the Birthdays calendar), under 'Other'. This new subscription puts a 'Holidays' calendar in the 'iCloud' section.
However, it works and appears to be up to date, so thanks!
I've marked your answer as helpful, but won't mark the problem as solved, as there's still the problem of the non-appearance of the 'Holidays' calendar with the "Show Holidays Calendar" checked. I'm interested to see anyone else can uncheck and recheck "Show Holidays Calendar" without losing the calendar. Did you try?
    Thanks again,
    Steve  = : ^ )

  • Holiday calendars

    Hi all,
I need your suggestion to solve this issue related to public holiday calendars. Jul 4th(paid) is a public holiday and that has been assigned as a fixed day/date when created. In the calendar where it is used, the validity dates have been given as 2004-2005 and it was not used for the year 2006. Instead some other name was used (unpaid). Now, I need to assign the July 4th (paid) public holiday to the same calendar.
When I go in to assign holiday, it does not show the July 4th (paid) holiday to be reassigned. The overall validity of the calendar is till 2007.
    July 4th - 2004 - 2005
                - I need to assign this to 2007 again
    Please advise.
    Reward points will be given.
    Chris

I've been arguing this issue with SAP for a long time.  We have the same problem only ours is more complex because we have over 20 sites and in any given year a site may or may not take a particular holiday.  As a result, we ended up creating a separate holiday for each site (i.e. 20 4th of Julys).
Prior to 4.6c it was possible to assign the same holiday more than once.  In 4.6c SAP changed transaction SCAL so that it is no longer possible.  The problem is with the transaction itself.  You can modify table THCOD directly using SE16 and everything (time, payroll, etc) will work fine but then transaction SCAL will abend.   What we want to do should be possible since the end year is a key field.

  • Transporting holiday calendar gives export error

I have changed settings for a holiday calendar and I am trying to transport the calendars to my test system. But in the process I get an export error saying "scrap char in NUMC field found in TFAIT.VON."
Does anybody know what the issue might be and how to solve it? What I have done is only to remove a fixed date holiday from one calendar.
The error refers to note 718511 for further information but it does not suggest how to fix the problem directly.
    Any thoughts?
    Regards Jesper

    Hi,
All public holidays calandar will be deleted in the target system. You can include objects of this type in a
Workbench request only and crete tranport request manually. If you want any further clarifications pl revert back to me.

  • US Holiday Calendar not syncing

Ok, so I use iOS devices and a PC for work. I use iCloud for my calendars, contacts, etc. I use the web portal to view my calendars. I wanted to add US holidays to my calendar for 2015. The built in one in iOS will not sync to iCloud. So I created a new calendar called US Holidays and then I sent the holiday .ics calendar to my email account, when I click on it, it allows me to add all events to my holiday calendar.
This is where the problem starts. iCloud shows the new Holiday calendar I created, but will not sync all of the events that I add from the .ics. If I go in and manually modify one of the events, it then syncs to iCloud and the web calendar.
    Thoughts? Suggestions?
BTW, last year when I did this, it worked perfectly and has worked fine for other calendars (sports team schedules, etc.)

The best way I found to do this is here: http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-add-us-holidays-to-iphone-calendar/
Type in the the url from iCal in Mavericks for the Holiday calendar: p19-calendars.icloud.com/holiday/US_en.ics
    It works great.

  • Holidays calendar does not cone on

My holidays calendar does not show when it is checked. Birthdays works as does alternative.

I finally solved the problem after going through the apple support site. My itune option to synch calendar had been turned off, probably as I uptdated to Itune 9 or ipod 4.0. It is in the info part of the settings of the ipod when it is connected to the computer.
    Anyhow, all is well now

  • Errors in Christian Holidays calendar - please update

I subscribed to the Christian Holidays calendar at http://ical.mac.com/ical/Christian32Holidays.ics. It has some errors and since I didn't create it, I can't fix them.
    The problems:
    - Easter should be an entire day, not just from 1-2 PM.
    - The following holidays between Epiphany and Easter are missing: Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday
Since these are some of the most important holidays in the Christian calendar, and also some which change their date every year, it would be nice if whoever is in charge of this calendar could fix these problems. Thank you.
    Message was edited by: superflippy

I searched for this thread because I too noticed that "Good Friday" was missing from the "Christian Holiday Calendar 1.0" file for this year. The bottom line is that despite the 10/07 time stamp on the Downloads/Calendars page, this file has not been updated (by Apple) in three years.
For example, "Good Friday" exists in this ICS file for 2004,2005,2006,2007 only.
The challenge in keeping a calendar like this updated is that certain religious holidays such as "Easter" do not fall on a Gregorian calendar interval that can be repeated in iCal. (Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21.)
Of course Apple could go a long way in at least helping their users avoid this confusion by simply including a date range reference or last updated reference in the description field of these calendar files.
So basically you can wait until the (correct) Apple folks catch on to this thread (don't hold your breath) or their mistake (I wouldn't wait for that either) or you can start updating this calendar yourself.
To do this, click on the Christian Holidays calendar in iCal. Then click File/Export. Save. Drag the resulting exported (saved) file onto your iCal icon. An "Adding New Events" dialog will appear, pull down the menu and select "New Calendar".
You will now have an editable local instance of the original "from URL" based calendar and can start updating (or changing) as you see fit.
Good luck fellow disappointed Apple provided iCal calendar downloaders.

  • How to subscribe to Chinese holiday calendar

I'm using iOS8.1 with the region format set to US. That automatically subscribes me to US holiday in the calendar. If I also want to manually subscribe to Chinese holiday calendar, what's the server address I should use to add the account in "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" setting?
I know if you want to manually subscribe to US holiday calendar, the server address is files.apple.com/calendars/US32Holidays.ics; for New Zealand it would be files.apple.com/calendars/New32Zealand32Holidays.ics. I just couldn't find the one for Chinese.
Of course I can set my region format to China, that'll automatically give me Chinese holidar calendar and then I can manually subscribe to US holiday calendar. But not sure if the region format change would cause other problems.
    Many thanks in advance!

I found it by messing around with the url of the ones you listed. It is http://files.apple.com/calendars/China32Holidays.ics
    Enjoy
