Problem Wacom Tablet DTF-720 C in Acrobat

Hello,
We have a problem with our Acrobat Professional (Version 9) application in conjunction with a graphic tablet Wacom DTF-720 C.
We use the graphic tablet in conjunction with the "Comment & Markup tools" in Acrobat in our department “quality assurance”.
In ads, our quality assurance draws or writes corrections with the "pencil" tool  (Acrobat) and a graphics pen.
While writing or drawing with the pencil, a fluent use is not possible because Acrobat builts paths for each line e.g.
Is it possible to turn this problem off because our user reads and also corrects about 50-100 ads per day.
I would be glad to get an advice from you.
Thank you

Hello,
thanks a lot for the interesting answers. From what i understand you are saying, that painting freeform shapes never worked that good in Acrobat. But our problem is, that it used to work just fine with Acrobat 9.5.x when Acrobat was running in Windows XP with the WACOM DTF-720C. You were even able to use handwriting which worked pretty well. Since we installed Windows 7 on the exact same machine and reinstalled Acrobat 9.5.x it does not work anymore. Drawing shapes and handwriting is almost not possible and the stylus reacts "stuttering" like if the machine couldnt handle the task (Quad Core CPU, 8 GB RAM, SSD).
Short story: it worked on the same maschine with Windows XP and it doesnt anymore in Windows 7 (Professional). To be sure, we tried this on 2 different maschines with a WACOM DTF-720. Both the same story. Win XP with Acrobat 9.5.x works, Win 7 with Acrobat 9.5.x doesnt.
Any thoughts?
(We will try "PDF Annotator". Thanks for recommending it! On the other hand it would be great if Acrobat would act in Windows 7 as it does in Windows XP)

  • Wacom tablet problems with CS3

I've had Flash 8 which was fine with my Wacom tablet.
However, now that I've downloaded Flash CS3 it's caused problems

double click on a symbol, a broken rectangular object appears and
enlarges. I'm eventually taken to edit the symbol, how it's become
most time consuming. Is there a patch or a solution?

how is this related to a wacom tablet?
can you provide a screenshot of this "broken rectangular

  • Security update 2011-011 caused problems for Wacom tablet

I have Wacom Bamboo Fun (model CTE-650) tablet, which have since worked well after every passed "security updates". However, after I installed new Security update 2011-011, it started to act weird. I can move pen pointer on screen, but cannot select anything and can't move windows etc..
I checked the disk, verified and repair permissions, and also tried to install most recent Wacom tablet driver but nothing have helped so far. Does anyone experienced this? Any solutions..?

I too have problem with my Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet (in this case the CTE-450). It acts as normal mouse, it does not map to the screen coordinates, only to up. down, left right movement.
When I open the Tablet preference pane, it tells me it does not detect any tablet. I restarted, and nothing. I reinstalled the latest driver (Driver 5.2.4-4(RC) for OS X 10.6, 10.5 & 10.4 (PPC & Intel) from 15 Feb 2011) and still does not work.
Apple... is it you who invalidated my valuable piece of hardware?

  • Illustrator / Wacom tablet / Yosemite problem

Ever since the latest Yosemite update I have experienced problems with Illustrator when using my Wacom tablet (Intuos Pro). Basically, if I draw a box or draw a marquee to select multiple items/points, the box I’m drawing will jump and draw the wrong size and in completely the wrong place. I also have other issues, like when adding anchor points to a line the application will suddenly freeze. It doesn’t even seem to fully crash (going to Force Quit appears to show the application is still running), but I can’t do anything so have to quit anyway. I have this same issue every single time and I can’t work for more than 5 minutes without it happening. I’m running Yosemite on a MacBook Pro with the latest Adobe CC updates and latest Wacom drivers installed. At the moment it only seems to happen in illustrator, not the other apps. This is causing big problems for my work, so any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Sair,
I’ve hit upon a sort-of solution that might help you:
With your second monitor plugged in, go to System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement, then drag the white bar from the smaller display to the larger (see screenshot below). This will effectively make your second display into your main display, and your laptop becomes your secondary display. I’ve been using Illustrator and InDesign in the larger display since doing this a week ago and haven’t had any problems. The only issue is that if in you normally run something else alongside Illustrator in your primary display this could, I guess, be affected, although I haven’t had any issues so far.
Obviously it’ll be much better if Adobe / Apple / Wacom correct the issue, but I hope this helps in the meantime!

  • Photoshop CC work area troubleshooting on wacom tablet

Hi I have a very odd problem going on with photoshop cc while using my wacom tablet. For the most part it runs fine with no real problems whatsoever. I can work on photoshop normally until I move my cursor away from the wacom screen, back to my MacBook, and click out of the program. Once I do this the work area in photoshop disappears. specifically meaning the window where my current file is being made goes blank. everything around the work area appears the same, like the tools, tabs, etc.  My only solution to this problem is to turn off and on the wacom tablet. It works fine after that until I click out of the program again. Its getting pretty annoying to deal with now so any help would be super appreciated. I will post pics to give you guys an example when I get the chance. Posting from my phone right now.
    here are my specs:
    Macbook Pro  15-inch
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB
    OSX 10.9.2 (13C64)
    Cintiq 13 HD

Is it just slow drawing, or is actual computation (image size, rotate, GBlur, etc.) also slow?
If the slowdown is drawing, then the most likely culprit would be the video card driver. Update your driver from the GPU maker's website.
If the computation slows down, then something is interfering with Photoshop. We've seen some third party plugins, and some antivirus software cause slowdowns over time.

  • Wacom Tablet Mapping Bug Only in Photoshop

I am using a Graphire Wireless Wacom Tablet on a Windows 7 PC at work. I installed the most recent drivers, and it works flawlessly in a duel monitor setup, and I have no trouble mapping it however I would like.
This is all great until I launch Adobe Photoshop (CS4). Upon launch of the program there is some kind of bug, and suddenly the mapping acts as if both displays were squished into only the primary display. I can toggle between displays, and instead of toggling between display 1, 2, and both, it toggles between the left and right half of the screen and the whole screen. The other monitor is still functioning normally, only the mapping of the tablet is effected, and as soon as I close Photoshop, it reverts back to normal.
I did find one posting with the same problem, but it was resolved my installing the updated drivers, which I already have, and the discussion was closed. Any help I can get would be great.

Wacom has per-appliation settings, and somewhere you've changed the tablet mapping for Photoshop.
Photoshop does not know about the tablet mapping, only the Wacom driver knows about and controls the tablet mapping.
Check the Wacom control panel/preferences.  If you can't figure it out, contact Wacom technical support.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 incompatible with Wacom tablets?

Hey everyone, so I'm having a lot of issues with my Wacom tablets and PS CC 2014. So, I have two tablets hooked up to my computer (and before you ask, no, the issues don't stem from two tablets being connected to the computer. I already tested that.) A Cintiq 21UX and an Intuos 5. Both work very well and as you would expect in Photoshop CC, however in CC 2014 they have loads of problems. On the Cintiq, while I get great, fluid lines with the brush tool I can't change my eraser's size on the fly by rotating my pen like usual. It's very annoying and absolutely destroys workflow. Now, the eraser works, but the size can't be changed by flipping the pen from the brush tool like it normally would be able to. That's just the issue with the Cintiq though, on the Intuos 5 there's no pen pressure whatsoever! It just thinks the pen is a mouse, on both sides of it. I'm certain this isn't a driver issue, as the tablets have their drivers up-to-date and work perfectly with both Photoshop CC (standard) and Corel Painter X3.
Does anyone know how I could fix these issues?

I'm on Windows 8.1 with an Intuos4 tablet.  I updated to photoshop CC 2014 and after updating the tablet driver so I had the use Windows Ink checkbox I got the pressure sensitivity back but the lines are horrible and jagged so I'm trying to revert to the old implementation following your instructions and created the txt file named PSUserConfig.txt with the lines
    # Use WinTab
    UseSystemStylus 0
That worked to get pressure sensitivity to work whether or not the Windows ink box was checked but didn't fix the jagged lines.
I'm not sure I understand the second part of your instructions about turning off gestalt's functionality (Not even sure what that is) Is there supposed to be a PSUSerConfig.txt file because there wasn't one until I just saved the one I made.  Is any of this even going to fix the jagged lines or is that a whole different issue?
Everything works just fine in Photoshop CC 64bit

  • Wacom Tablet Issues with LR 5.6

Ever since I upgrade to LR 5.6, I'm having problems with my wacom tablet (intuos 5 wireless small).  When I use the TAT, as I move up and down the slider moves a couple of numbers and them stops.  If I use my blue tooth mouse, it works just fine.  Also, if I go up to the Histogram and click and drag, nothing at all happens using the tablet, but works just fine with blue tooth mouse.  There are a lot of other issues with rendering and unstable pen action.  I have no issues with the tablet in Photoshop CC - 2014 ACR or any other programs.  It's definitely tied to LR 5.6.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.  Oh, I have uninstalled and re-installed and have the same problem.
    Dennis

I downloaded the driver at Wacom Europe GmbH - Support - Treiber  ran it without the tablet being connected, than plugged in the Intous again. Immediately a new USB-recognition/installation process started (but all customizations were preserved).
That was all. I am not a nerd, just a normal user, so nothing special to report. It just worked out fine.

  • Wacom tablet brush features lagging and non-responsive

I am a photographer and rely heavily on my Wacom tablet to edit my images in Photoshop. The latest CS6 update and CC update disables any tool that uses the brush feature. If I work with a tool for example the quick selection tool, before I can use any keyboard shortcuts or hot keys I have to click anywhere else in my workspace, then my keyboard will work. I cannot increase the selection size of the tool, cannot adjust hue or saturation,  and cannot choose another tool using the keyboard shortcuts.
THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM for me at the moment. My editing time has nearly TRIPLED because of the additional steps I have to take.
I contacted Wacom support and they told me to contact Adobe. All of the Adobe forums said to contact Wacom. I am now stuck in an endless battle of neither company wanting to take responsibility.
The most recent Wacom drive supports Mac 10.8x-10.10x so Wacom does not believe that their driver is the cause of the malfunction. When I use my Apple mouse I do not have any of these issues in Photoshop. Yes, the simple answer is to stop using my Wacom and just use my mouse but that is not a plausible argument for a left-handed person.
I am also frustrated that I could not contact support via email that I had to start a discussion. Hoping someone from Adobe will respond or even see this. Clearly there is an error with the Adobe software.

Ok the problem seems to be fixed for me. Here what I did:
Before, I was running Yosemite 10.10 on an iMac i7
I had the latest driver from Wacom (I tried a couple of older drivers, to no avail)
I'm running PS CS6, with all update
I'm using a Wacom Intuos 5 medium tablet
I was getting super bad lag while using the brush and other tools. Let's say I'd open an image to edit. After selecting the keyboard shortcut for my brush, I'd make one pass with the brush on the image. The brush stroke would be there, but it wouldn't show up in the history palette. Only after making another brush stroke would the previous action be recorded in the history palette. I was lagging real bad. In between brush strokes I wouldn't be able to change tools or even change the size of my brush. Nothing worked. I'd have to click off the image to regain control, or click the trackpad to regain control. BTW, the trackpad worked perfectly. NO lag for anything in PS. The polygonal lasso tool, one of my favorite selection tools, was basically unusable with the lag. I'd have to click several times before it would catch up and then sometime it would just randomly close the selection. So that was useless.
Ok, so that's what was happening to me. My tablet was basically useless. It took triple the time to work with it.
All I did was update Yosemite to 10.10.1 and the tablet now works PERFECTLY in photoshop cs6 for me. I'm not sure you'll get the same results but it worked for my computer. I really didn't think it would work so I was pleasantly surprised when it did.
I had tried installing older wacom drivers. Didn't work.
I tried reinstalling PS CS6 in a new user profile on my Mac. Didn't work.

  • I got Photoshop Elements 11 when I got my Wacom tablet, but I can't find the serial number anywhere?

I got Photoshop Elements 11 when i got my wacom tablet this summer. I recently got a better computer so i want Elements 11 on it too. The problem is that I cannot find the serial number anywhere to be able to use it on my new computer. Since I got Elements through Wacom, it does not show up as a product on my Adobe profile. Does anyone know what I can do to get it back?

Also check the Wacom page. I'm sure there are instructions on how to deal with OEM licensed and bundled versions.

  • How to I get the the Wacom tablet's pen sensitivity to work on Photoshop when it works in Flash?

    Hi Everyone!
Alright so I did some looking around to see if I could use other threads to help solve my issue before I came here to ask. A lot of them seem to be related to surface pro and some of the instructions I followed was to remove USB drivers so that they can re-install themselves and simply re-installing the Wacom drivers.
I am on Windows 8 (64bit) and am using and Intuos 4 Wacom tablet and what seems to be most peculiar is that the pressure sensitivity seems to be working just fine in Flash but has never been able to work in Photoshop. I took this as a sign that this might be more of an issue with the application than the tablet itself since it is clearly registering in another application.
Sorry if this has been answered before! If so, it would be great to get a link otherwise I would greatly be indebted to those able to help me with my problem.
    Thanks so much!

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

  • Photoshop CS4 brush lag with wacom tablet

I've upgraded to photoshop CS4 extended recently and all my brushes that worked fine under CS3 are now with a real lag.
I've installed the latest version of photoshop ( Adobe Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 update ) and the latest update for my wacom tablet, but the lag remains.
My computer is a new "24 imac:
    -  2,66 GHz intel Core 2 duo processor
    -  4 GB memory
    -  NVIDIA GeForce 9400
I use my tablet and photoshop a lot, but with this lag it's terrible to draw..
Is there someone who can help me with this or has the same problems ?
    thanks in advance

Glad I could be of service.
Speaking of services, if you are running Vista or Windows 7 (not XP) you should turn off tablet services too. They automatically start if you install a Wacom driver on these Os'es, and they can also cause hiccups and lag in Photoshop CS4.
You have to be logged in with admin privleges.
    Go to Control Panel->System and Security->Administrative Tools->Services
    Open 'Tablet PC Input Service'
Stop the service and select 'Disabled' as the startup type.
You'll know you got it because the annoying 'ripple' effect will go away when you touch the pen to the tablet, and the pop-up keyboard will go away. Of course, if you actually are running on a tablet PC then don't do this.
