Problem when I connect the Ipod nano !

every time I conect my ipod nano to my computer (windows xp) the ipod dont respond...I restart it but it happen again...
please I need help

ok well i have just about had it with this ipod
given to me as a christmas gift from my father, purchased a a proper retailer in thailand...and now when i return home it wont connect with my pc!
im like what, does it have jet lag...
it shouldnt since it has been 3 months now...and i have at last given into formatting, since one discussion said it seemed to be a sucess..
it isnt ok.
i tried...the famous 5R's
but intersting fact maybe...when i restored, it said it had a problem mounting with the ipod...so i thought it must be an internal damage with the connecter, but it cant, it connects with the charger and is visible in My COMPUTER
so why do i have such a stubborn ipod...
well im going to take it to a shop here, and get it either repaired before my eyes or i want it replaced, and no **** about purchase slip...
ipod (no matter where it was bought) should be quality and this is just rubbish
HELLO IPOD people, are you not seeing this and trying to do something about this...maybe we should go the papers and report shocking after-sales services..and warn people to not buy ipod as they malfunction sooner or later and just become a tiny peice of scrap!
somebody...i want a solution!

    1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
    2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
    3. Check the USB cable
    4. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
    5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
    6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job.
    7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

  • Itunes freezes when I connect my ipod nano

Thanks Santa for the new iPod Nano. Unfortunately, every time I connect the ipod to the computer, iTunes freezes and I have to completely reboot the PC. Very frustrating! I have reloaded all the software from the CDs four times, after unstalling it, to no avail. Interestingly, I have managed to download onto the ipod on one occassion and then once the download was complete, itunes froze. Any help would be much appreciated

Just in case, let's doublecheck to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes (the new 10.6.1.7 and one of the old ones with the freeze-on-nano-plugging-in issue.)

So you connect the iPod to an USB port, and then your computer immediately restarts with no further action from you? That's very odd...
Try removing all USB peripherals (including any hubs) except for your keyboard and mouse, and then connect the iPod directly to one of the USB ports on the computer. If that makes it work, connect your devices one at a time.
thanks that works i finally can use my ipod

  • When i connect my ipod nano 2nd gen, it charges but does not appear in windows or itunes.  I tried the reset but it didn't work.  how can i fix this?

I bough a 4g Ipod nano 2nd gen for my cousins birthday.  When i plug it into my computer it charges but does not show up in windows or itunes.  I tried reseting it, reinstalling itunes, everything the site said but it didn't help. I am trying to sync songs to it for my cousin, but it won't work with it not connecting.  Could the wire have something to do with it or is there a bigger problem here?

  • When i connect my ipod nano to my computer it does not light up and i get a message saying the usb devive has malfunctioned

I need some help here as I believe my ipod nano has crashed or something is terribly wrong. When I plug in the usb to my laptop I get a message saying the usb device has malfunctioned. My ipod does not light up. I have tried powering it on manually and nothing works. Help, this is going to ruin my workouts!!!

I'm not sure what the glitch was, but after I posted the problem, I called Apple and got a rep to walk me through some troubleshooting tips such as holding down the nano power button while plugging in the usb cable....nothing worked. Eventually, they scheduled a maintenance /replacement service.
I got the box yesterday and was about to put it in for shipping to Apple, when I decided to try connecting it to my laptop one last time. Viola! it started back up again and is currenting syncing as I type. Guess it was just a bad glitch of some sort. Anyone with a similar issue, perhaps you may want to wait a few days and see if it solves the issue.I hope this helps.

  • HT1386 I have IPod touch running iOS 5.1.1 and Windows 7 with iTunes 11.0.4.4. When I connect the IPod to my PC, iTunes recognizes it but before synching can get very far, it is interrupted by "charging not supported on this acc." Now what to do?

I'm having trouble with the wi-fi synch for iTunes and would be happy if I could just synch by the USB cable. With the new iOS, the connection to iTunes seems to get broken every time the dreaded "charging not supported with this accessory" appears, which is only a few seconds into the synch. Since my PC is obviously not an Apple brand charger, IPod won't stop producing this message. Using the Dismiss button doesn't resolve the issue because synch has already stopped. It looks like the hardwire to PC option is now dead.

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
