Problem when invoking a web service multiple times

Hello,
I have a java client which invokes an apache axis web service (deployed on an Oracle Application Server on a remote machine) multiple times.
The client distributes the web service invokes among multiple threads, every thing goes well but after an average of 300 web service invokes (among all threads) ab exception is thrown from the client:

  • Invoking web service multiple times

    Hello,
    in CAF I have modeled a business object Order which contains a number of OrderLines.
    In VC I have modeled a form which is used to collect the metadata of the Order as well as a table containing the OrderLines of the regarded Order.
    For storing the Order I have specified a web service in CAF, which basically inkoves the create operation of the Order.
    For storing the OrderLines I have specified a web service which adds an OrderLine to a given Order (i.e., invoking the add operation on the association).
    Is it possible to invoke this web service for each row in the table? When I connect the table to the web service and choose "all rows" only the last row seems to be processed.
    Best regards
    Alexander

    Hi Alexander,
    Consumption of  complex structure is possible when calling a web service.

  • Internal Server Error (NullPointerException) when invoking a Web Service

    I'm using SOA suite 10.1.3.3 (incl the latest patch set) on Windows XP.
    I've created 3 web services using the wizard interface out of 3 existing WSDL files. The Java code inside the web services is just dummy code.
    I'm testing the web services using the Test Web Service functionality in Oracle Enterprise Manager's Application Server Control.
    The moment I fill in the data and press invoke, I get back the following fault:
    <env:Body>
    <env:Fault>
    <faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
    <faultstring>Internal Server Error (Caught exception while handling request: java.lang.NullPointerException)</faultstring>
    </env:Fault>
    </env:Body>
    I know that control never reaches inside the services themselves.
    I've even followed the online demo that shows users how to create, deploy and test a Web Service in JDeveloper to make sure that I wasn't doing anything silly.
    What could be wrong? Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Exception obtained when invoking a web service generated with JDeveloper

    Hello,
    I tried to create a synchronous BPEL process that invokes synchronously a Java Web Service created with the JDeveloper. The web service is wrapped around a regular Java class. The new created BPEL process is successfully compiled and deployed on the server. But when I try to initiate a test instance of the process in the BPEL console, after I fill the input parameter for then process and push the "Post XML Message" button, I obtain the following error:
    Your test request generated the following exception/fault:
    BPEL Fault: {http://oracle.com/cde/util/Top300DAO.wsdl}org.apache.wsif.soap.fault{org.apache.wsif.soap.fault.object=java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect}
    I looked at flow and it throws the exception when it tries to invokes the web service generated with JDeveloper.
    Do you have any hints, ideas? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
    I want to also say that the proxy settings for the BPEL server and designer are filled. I think that they are ok because I succeeded to start an instance of another process that calls synchronously an external Web Service.
    Regards,
    Marinel

    My guess is that this is caused by the WSDL of your service having an invalid service address. Can you please take a look at the WSDL of your service make sure that the location of the address is valid? (we have seen a couple of instances in the past where the generated url did not have the right port information).
    Update that WSDL, restart the BPEL server or from the BPEL console clear the WSDL cache and re-initiate your flow.
    Best,
    Edwin

  • Problem when defining a web service

    Hello,
    I have defined several BAPI that I am calling from an external application by exopsing those BAPI using the SOAP adaptor.
    All goes well for all of them except one.
    For the one having problems the Integrantion engine is routing that call to different webservice than the one I expect it to do it,
    these are some of the paramenters I use when defining the web service in the Integration Builder:
    Interface name: MI_BAPI_PPMSRVAPS_GETLIST
    Communitcation chanel: CC_SOAP_BAPI_PPMSRVAPS_GETLIST
    Address: http://sapxi:50000/xisoapadapter/messageservlet?channel=:BS_WEBSERVICE_GREYCON:CC_SOAP_BAPI_PPMSRVAPS_GETLIST
    but instead when I test the generated wsdl using soapUI: the integration engine returns this error:
    Canceled with Errors 02.06.2010 15:04:22 02.06.2010 15:04:23   [websericename]     [namespace]MI_BAPI_PDSSRVAPS_GETLIST
    My guess is that at some point I defined wrong the web service but I have no way to redefine it or revert how it was defined.
    I redefined the webservice with correct parameters, but there is no change in behaviour.
    I checked server address and port (it is the exact same of the other BAPIs that work)
    Where can I see all defined web services when they are defined via the Integration builder define web service option?
    How to delete a webservice published this way?
    Any advise?
    Any help is very much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Mauricio Pego

    Hello there.
    Error: 404 Not Found
    Description: The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
    Possible Tips:- for HTTP_RESP_STATUS_CODE_NOT_OK 404
    u2022 404 is an HTTP response code that indicates that the resource in question couldn't be found. Usually this is due to an incorrect URL, so it is better to cross check all URLs. Check pipeline URL in the SLD in the business system of the Integration Server For this go to SLD->Business System-><yourIntegrtaion Server>->Pipeline URL: It should be like this http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry Where host is the host name of the Integration Server and port is the HTTP(8xxx) port. To verify this in Integration Server you can do like this. Go to SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Choose Edit from Menu -> Change Global Configuration Data to switch to change mode. Then select System Landscape - Load Configuration. (This is not required always)
    u2022 Check that the port really is the ICM HTTP Port and not the J2EE port i.e SMICM then menu GOTO --> SERVICES and check the port number for HTTP. It should be HTTP port
    u2022 If the error is Page cannot be displayed, cannot find server in https configurations Check and correct the SSL configuration for the ABAP and the J2EE side of the system
    u2022 If the error is because of integration server when using Proxy communications then check these. i.e SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Corresponding Integration Server enrty should be dest://<Http Integration server-Destination> Where < Http Integration server -Destination > is the RFC destination (SM59) of type HTTP connection (type H) to the Integration Server. In this case, host name, port, and path prefix are saved in the RFC destination.
    Try some of the recommendations that most apply to your case.
    Hope it helps!

    Can someone tell what am I doing wrong. As it looks like I have to pass all the parameters for the method that is published but what if some are missing basically I want to keep all the parameters optional. How can I make the service to return the same what is passed when invoked. Any help is appreciated. I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.

    To make the service return "whatever is passed", you have to take a step back and realize that there is a little understanding of XML Schema required.
    When using a complexType, which is defined as a sequence, then you are implying an ordered sequence of elements. Default value for the 'minOccurs' attribute is 1. It's also important to understand that there is a difference between minOccurs=0 and nillable="true".
    nillable="true" just means that the name element can carry a null value. If you want the name element to be optional, then you must use the minOccurs=0 and keep the maxOccurs to it's default value of 1. Using an array is just a bad work around. This is for deserialization (XML to JAVA).
    The second part of you problem is on the serialization (or JAVA to XML). When you have a JAVA Bean, there is no way to make the difference between a member's value being null or not set, so it's impossible to decide if you need to send back a nul (xsi:nil="true"), an empty element <ns1:name/> or nothing.
    That said, if you do want to go the XML route, you can use the dataBinding="false" flag in the different WSA command. Instead of converting XML into JAVA, you will have SOAPElement parameters, where you can do all you want (see WS user's guide [1] for details - chapter 16). Note that you have to make sure that the WSDL (your contract) reflect what you are doing on the wire (format of your messages), so that you do not geopardize your interoperability with other toolkit.
    Note that this only applies to literal message formats (use attribute in WSDL), which is your case.
    Hope this helps,
    Eric

  • Encountered problem when invoking a Tuxedo service

    Good day.
    I'm currently encountering a problem when trying to invoke a Tuxedo service from a JCS. The error is a LIBTUX_CAT:488 : ERROR: Invalid data pointer given to tpreturn(). The returned error message to the WLS console was "tpcall invocation failed[null]."
    It was previously working until I added a few more lines of code that invoked a database.
    Both the JCS and the JCX used to invoke the Tuxedo service are in a Web Service project, stored separately in different folders though.
    Could anyone help please? I haven't found any solution to this problem yet.
    Thank you.

    Umm.. I already problem. Sorry for bothering everyone.
    I was simply passing a value that was longer than the set buffer in the Tuxedo service.
    Could someone please close topic? Thank you.

  • Problems while invoking a web service

    Hi everybody,
    I need to call a web service and treat its response data. So I'm using OdiInvokeWebService tool, and trying to export the response to an xml file, in order to be able to treat the information. The question is that I just can't get the response, because the response file is empty after doing the call. If I try with the "advanced" option of the tool, the result is the same, doesn't matter which mode of request (xml request or xml file request) I use. But I'm even more worried considering that the process works properly when I use a tool like soapUI, that means, I get a result when I call the web service with this tool. It looks very strange because I used ODI previously with the same goal, and I didn't have any problem working in the same way. So, could somebody help me with this issue?
    Thanks in advance,
    Hibai.

    > The problem is, when my application running in Netweaver tries to consume the webservice, it takes the external access to try to reach the webservice URL instead of take the VPN route to do that. ie. my application find an external IP of the webservice instead of finding the internal IP.
    You're using a proxy?

  • Error when invoking a Web Service

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create a simple HTTP >> XI >> WebService (SOAP) synchronous scenario. When I test the web service in a web browser (http post) on the XI server, it works well. However, when I test the XI scenario, I have a "500 Connection timed out" on the synchronous response.
    On the runtime workbench, I have the following message : "SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML; HTTP 504 Gateway Time-out".
    Any idea ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Michael.

    1. Does your network have a proxy ? - if so, configure the proxy details in the SOAP adapter.
    2. Does the WS expect any credentials? - if so configure the same in the adapter.

    Notes
    The program fails at following line of code -
    l_service := UTL_DBWS.create_service (
    wsdl_document_location => URIFACTORY.getURI(l_wsdl_url),
    service_name => l_service_qname);
    Web services are SSL.
    The WSDL is at https location and needs username/password for access. The username/password to access WSDL are set using UTL_DBWS.SET_PROPERTY
    To access the SSL site, I have imported the CA in Oracle Wallet, JVM home and JDK home.
    Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong here. I am not able to even establish connection to web service host.
    This is very frustrating - Oracle has no examples on how to access a SSL Web Service (that needs authentication) from Database.
    This is effecting our project deadlines ......... any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I presume your Web Service needs HTTP (BASIC?) Authentication.
    All this needs is setting the following 2 properties, which as can be seen, you are setting....
    UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'USERNAME', '<username>');
    UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'PASSWORD', '<pwd>');
    This should work as long as your DBWS Callout Utility was downloaded from OTN after June 2008, and it's version is atleast 10.1.3.1.
    Following is a sample code snippet that was tested successfully for this :
    Declare
    l_service UTL_DBWS.service;
    l_call UTL_DBWS.call;
    l_result sys.XMLTYPE;
    l_request sys.XMLTYPE;
    BEGIN
    l_service := UTL_DBWS.create_service(null);
    l_call := UTL_DBWS.create_call(l_service);
    UTL_DBWS.set_target_endpoint_address(l_call, 'http://xxx.oracle.com:8888/basic/MyWebService1SoapHttpPort');
    UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'USERNAME', 'username');
    UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'PASSWORD', 'pwd');
    UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'OPERATION_STYLE', 'document');
    UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'SOAPACTION_USE', 'true');
    UTL_DBWS.set_property(l_call, 'SOAPACTION_URI', 'http://xxx.oracle.com:8888/basic/MyWebService1SoapHttpPort');
    l_request := XMLTYPE('<Z_CENTRICITY_GET_DOCLIST
    xmlns:urn="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions">' ||
    '<I_INCLUDE_OLD_VERSIONS></I_INCLUDE_OLD_VERSIONS>' ||

    '<I_PATIENT_NR>0000000181</I_PATIENT_NR>' ||
    '</Z_CENTRICITY_GET_DOCLIST>');
    l_result := UTL_DBWS.invoke(l_call, l_request);
    UTL_DBWS.release_call (call_handle => l_call);
    UTL_DBWS.release_service (service_handle => l_service);
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    dbms_output.put_line(sqlcode || ' ' || sqlerrm);

    Assuming this is for Oracle BPM 11g.
    I'm a novice at this and sure others will have infinitely better ideas (have I lowered your expectations enough?), but here are two thoughts. Both of these ideas assume that your child process was invoked by an Oracle BPM parent process.
    When you expose a process as a web service and invoke it asynchronously from a parent process, there is a call back service available. I've yet to figure out exactly how to get it to work, but if you look at the "Start" event's property in the composite (it's the service) you will see the callback information in the bottom dropdown. I believe what this means is that from your child process, you can use a Service activity to invoke a service that invokes the callback service back to the parent process's Service activity.
    My other idea (you're not going to like this one) would be to to invoke the subprocess using a Message Start Event activity instead of the Service activity you're currently using. If you go this route, then you could have your parent process kick off the child subprocess using a Message Start Event activity and then immediately after this have a Message Catch Event activity. The child process could have a Message Throw Event activity immediately after its Start Message Event activity that sends a notification to the parent process. The good part about this is that I've actually gotten this to work.
    You can send argument information back to the parent process, but (sorry) I don't yet know how to capture the process id.
    Wish I could be of more help and hope this helps a little.

  • DNS problem when calling a web service

    Hi,
    when I try to call a web service from the Studio I get the following error message:
    return code: 503
    Network Error
    Network Error (dns_server_failure)
    Your request could not be processed because an error occurred contacting the DNS server.
    The DNS server may be temporarily unavailable, or there could be a network problem.
    Looks not like an OBPM problem, but I can access the web service via SoapUI and I can access it from an OBPM enterprise installation on a server here in the network. The problem is only when I try to access the service from OBPM Studio. I also tried accessing a local web service, also does not work.
    Does anyone have a hint, what it could be? Thanks for your help!
    Regards
    Matthias

    No, it is in my local LAN, so it should work without proxy (and in SoapUI it also works without Proxy). But nevertheless I tried it also with a proxy, but unfortunately without success.

  • Strange problem when calling a Web Service...

    Hi,
    First of all, I succeed calling a custom web service : I pass to this web service a table and retrieve a table.
    Now, I am trying to do the same thing with the web service of BAPI_USER_GETLIST.
    Here is the code in the Component Controller.
    <i>
    Request_BAPI_USER_GETLISTPortType_BAPI_USER_GETLIST    input =
         new Request_BAPI_USER_GETLISTPortType_BAPI_USER_GETLIST();
    wdContext.nodeRequest_BAPI_USER_GETLISTPortType_BAPI_USER_GETLIST().bind(input);
    ComplexType_BAPI_USER_GETLIST complex = new ComplexType_BAPI_USER_GETLIST();
    complex.setMAX_ROWS(10);
    complex.setWITH_USERNAME("X");
    complex.addRETURN(new ComplexType_BAPIRET2());
    complex.addSELECTION_EXP(new ComplexType_BAPIUSSEXP());
    complex.addSELECTION_RANGE(new ComplexType_BAPIUSSRGE());
    complex.addUSERLIST(new ComplexType_BAPIUSNAME());
    input.setParameters(complex);
    try {
         wdContext.currentRequest_BAPI_USER_GETLISTPortType_BAPI_USER_GETLISTElement()
              .modelObject().execute();
    }catch(Exception e) {
         wdContext.currentContextElement().setException(e.getMessage());
    wdContext.nodeResponse().invalidate();
    </i>
    I do not get any results.
    When debugging in the ABAP code, I get something strange.
    For everyone who looks in the BAPI_USER_GETLIST source code, you can notice
    that there is a refresh in the initialization function for the retrun and userlist
    tables.
    But, all the other tables (SELECTION_EXP and SELECTION_RANGE) has an empty line added!
    And this cause the problem.
    How do I know that this is the problem ? Because, when debugging in ABAP, I delete
    those lines in thoses 2 tables and everything works good.
    Is there a way to solve this problem ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
      Again you are trying to add an empty line and then delete it. Well what i am saying is you dont have to do the lines
    complex.addRETURN(new ComplexType_BAPIRET2());
    complex.addUSERLIST(new ComplexType_BAPIUSNAME());
    ComplexType_BAPIUSSEXP d1 = new ComplexType_BAPIUSSEXP();
    complex.addSELECTION_EXP(d1);
    ComplexType_BAPIUSSRGE d2 = new ComplexType_BAPIUSSRGE();
    complex.addSELECTION_RANGE(d2);
    complex.removeSELECTION_EXP(d1);
    complex.removeSELECTION_RANGE(d2);
    input.setParameters(complex);
    Just write the following code and you are good to go.
    Bapi_User_Getlist_Input complex = new Bapi_User_Getlist_Input();
    wdContext.nodeBapi_User_Getlist_Input().bind(complex);
    complex.setMax_Rows(10);
    complex.setWith_Username("X");
    try
      wdContext.currentBapi_User_Getlist_InputElement().modelObject().execute();
    catch(Exception e)
      wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException ("Exception occured "+e,true);
    Hope that helps you. You dont have to pass any values to the table structures. This specific bapi does not require data to be passed to the structures and by doing so empty lines are added and that is what i was saying when i explained in my previous post. Hope that clarifies your doubt. Do let me know in case u require further clarifications.
    If you are getting a error saying Return and Selection_EXP are required check the mapping.
    It is enough if you just select the nodes under
       Bapi_User_List_Input
          |_Output
          |    |_Return (Model Node)
          |    |_Selection_Exp (Model Node)
          |    |_Selection_Range (Model Node)
          |    |_Userlist (Model Node)
          |    |_Rows (Model Attribute)
          |_Max_Rows (Model Attribute)
          |_With_Username (Model Attribute)
    and of course select the Model Attributes MAX_ROWS and With_Username
    Let me know if you require any more information
    regards
    ravi

  • Call Same Web Service Multiple Times

    Hello All,
    Just wondering if there are any issues calling the same web service more than once within a single form?
    Basically what I'm trying to do is use an LDAP web service that returns a user name at different status levels. (i.e. user1 who starts the form process, and then again at user2 who is reviewing the form - pre-populating their names)
    Since the web service is already bound to the first set of fields at level 1, I created a new data connection to the same web service to run at the next level. Problem is, I'm not getting any errors OR any results.
    Do I need to just re-create the web service with another name?
    Thanks.

    Multiple calls work fine for me.
    Just create a new data connection and that's it.
