PROBLEM WHEN LANGUAGE IN FORMS OEBS

Hi,
We are using Oracle OEBS 11.5.9 with the french and US languages installed.
When i open the standard forms RCVRCERC.fmb in the path $AU_TOP/forms/US, all the prompt of fields are in english but when i copie the forms in my home all the prompt of fileds are in french. Perhaps i forget something (an environment variable, ...) ?
Can someone can help me ?

Problem when creating a Form with Launch Task Form Wizard

Hi all,
I'm using jdeveloper 11.1.1.6 over Windows 7 64bits for my BPM project.
I'm a new with BPM and i have a problem when trying to create a task's Form with the "Launch Task Form Wizard". I'm trying to create my Form based on a custom template, i already have imported the template as a library, now after i have selected the template i follow the wizard and i reach the wizard's rowX-columnX where i should choose the field i want in my form, but the problem is that i don't see any fields in that part of the wizard, the window is empty :(
I have created a business object based on a XSD, then i created a process data object based on the previous created business object and finally i used this data object as a parameter to the human task.
What could be my problem ?? :( :(

I have also faced this issue few times. There could be a namespace issue / schema issue. Please check if you are able to see task:task in the schema section anywhere in the .task file you created. If that is not shown, the fields will not appear while creating human task form.

Reports layout/format problem when called from forms

hi,
using forms and reports builder 10g OS winxp
i have created web and paper layout report with pre-defined template gray (rdf). when i run the web layout there is no problem.
when i call this report from form using
web.show_document('http://machine:8889/reports/rwservlet?report=mail_report.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=HTML&userid=abc/xyz@dbname&para1='||:parameter1, '_blank');
the layout (cell bgcolors of the table) does not appear.
pl guide what am i missing out.

Hi,
that has nothing to do with forms. Your call inside web.show_document is a servlet-call. With this you get the paper layout of a report. If you want to get the web-layout, you have to call the report with a jsp-call. In your case that might look like http://machine:8889/reports/mail_report.jsp?userid=.....
If you store your report as jsp-file, you can use it for paper & web-layout, as rdf only paper-layout is possible.

Scrollbars problem when running a form with Sun Java instead of Jinitiator

Hi All;
Our forms are configured to run with the Sun Java instead of
Jinitiator; functionality wise everything works fine, but when running
the forms on the web there are 2 extra scrollbars
(one vertical and one horizontal) in addition of the browser scrollbar.
Note: This is does not happen when running the same form with Jinitiator (same configurations)
Anyone encountered this situation or has an idea how to to get ride of the extra scrollbars ???

I was able to make all forms working without scrollbars when running form developer at the desktop (windows os) without scrollbars
but when I run them at the application server (Linux Red Hat 3 Enterprise), scrollbars are still there.
I tried your suggestion but did not help

Problem when loading the form in workspace ( LCES2 v9)

Caused by: ALC-DSC-012-000: com.adobe.idp.dsc.registry.ServiceNotFoundException: Service: Default Render ES Update1 not found.
This likely means you copied an older ES Update 1 process into your ES2 environment and did not do a migration. There is a new set of Render and Submit processes for ES2 and your older process is referencing the set shipped with ES Update1.
Ideally, if you are trying to have a pure ES2 environment, then you should convert your processes to be ES2 processes (I believe there are docs to help with this) - I recommend this as it puts you in a cleaner position for future migrations.
But if you choose to keep it using the older Render and Submit processes, then you need to deploy the adobe-process-management-system.lca from the ES Update 1 environment. You would do this in the Adminui where LCAs are deployed, but make sure you choose the LC8 LCA tab.

Using WEBUTIL in the Menu - problems when not in current form..

We make a webutil call in the menu - but it is a problem when the current form does not have webutil attached to it.
Is there any work around other than putting webutil in 100 forms?
OPEN_FORM/CALL_FORM both affected.

I've just spotted this thread, so my comments might be too late to be useful, but... I had a similar problem, and as Eric suggested, went for the approach of having a single, small form dedicated solely to running Webutil functions. Any form or menu option that needs to do something WebUtil-related (e.g. 'I need to have File A moved from the apps server to the client') calls a library routine which then calls the dedicated form, passing it all the instructions it needs to carry out the action. Control then returns to the original form. At the moment, I leave the dedicated form in the background in modeless state, so it can be used again if needed elsewhere without having to be reloaded. (If the user tries to click on the modeless form, it shoves control straight back to the 'main' form.)
I read somewhere that ideally you shouldn't WebUtil-enable every form, if most of the time, most of them won't use it. There's the overhead of initialising all the beans every time a form is opened, and it seems to me that that's relatively intensive, as bean usage goes. Not a showstopper by any means, though.

Language in Form 6i

I have problem of language in form 6i.
when I type any "text" on canvas it is typing OK in Arabic Language, where as when I type the same inside the button it typing something like "ÇáÓáÇã" .

ORA-04062 occurs when executing a form that contains a call to a DB package

We have an application that is written in Forms 6i. We just recently deployed
this to a test server. When trying to run forms that have calls to database
packages that have a PL/SQL table as a parameter, we are getting an ORA-04062
error. This does not occur on our development server. I did some research on
Metalink and found lots of information about this error. One of which was NOTE
73506.1. I thought this was our problem. I added the initialization parameter
REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE = SIGNATURE to the init.ora file for the test server.
This did not seem to help. I am at a loss as to what to do next. We actually
have 3 servers that we are working with right now. Here is a summary of some
tests that we did.
Compiled Form against Database on Server 1. The form worked on Server 1 and
Server 2. It did not work on Server 3.
Compiled Form against Database on Server 2. The form worked on Server 1 and
Server 2. It did not work on Server 3.
Compiled Form against Database on Server 3. The form worked on Server 3. It did
not work on Server 1 or Server 2.
We had changed the init.ora file on Servers 2 & 3 to have the
remote_dependencies_mode = signature. So I expected the form to work on those
two servers (2 & 3) and not on server 1.
We never had this problem when we were Forms 4.5, but we didn't have the PL/SQL
table functionality then either.
It appears to work on any schema on the Server that the form was compiled
against regardless of the timestamp for the package on that schema.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

After many long and frustrating days, I have finally figured out what the problem is.
In the package that was failing, it was creating a pl/sql table that had 3 columns. Two of those columns were using a %TYPE as the declaration. The problem one was compounds.name%TYPE.
It turned out that the server that was having the problem had this column's definition being VARCHAR2(50) on all of its schemas. The form was being compiled against a database that had this column set to VARCHAR2(30). The 30 length is the correct definition. We aren't sure how all the schema's on that server got messed up, but that is the problem. Once we dropped the table and recreated it with the correct definitons, the form that called the package worked as it should.
I am a little confused as to why the %TYPE didn't work at runtime. I thougth that the purpose of using a %TYPE was so that if the column defintion changed after the code was compiled, that it would use whatever the definiton is at runtime. Is this not true?

Problem when displaying smartform in chinese language

I have copied a standard smart form into Z smartform and added few fields in it as per the requirement .
When I display form in english or german it prints correctly .
when I print it in Chinese it prints the workarea name which I am using to print the values of the fileds .

Hi Gouri,
The first step for translation is that u have to change the regional settings in your computer. Or You should logon with Chinese language.
If you have done that already, i think the problem may be that in the reoport the length of the field is smaller than the space required for the chinese characters.
Even if it is done i think you can try doing this, go to se63 translate the field once again and save it. I think this should solve your problem.

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

Did you have the same problem when you directly run the form within the application server?
Try to tnsping the SID of the database directly within the application server.

Problems when converting Office files into forms in Vista

Hi,
I recently purchased Adobe Acrobat X Pro but am having a problem when trying to convert office files (word and excel) into forms on my laptop running Vista.
I open Acrobat and select create or edit form and get the window to select the file which is fine.
I then select to import a file from file system which is ok so I browse and select the appropriate file and select next and I get the below error.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as updating but it had no effect.
I have uninstalled it and installed it on a computer running XP and it all works fine.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Since you seem to be on a 64-bit system, be sure you have updated Acrobat and are not running AA 10.0.0. Can you run PDF Maker (the create PDF button) in WORD?

Problem with enabling thai language in forms

I am using
forms6i,
oracle10g db(client/server environment),
NLS_LANG is:thai_thailand.th8tisascii,
our font standard is:ARIAL
when i give an i/p via forms the typed value is showing as junk characters.if i change the font for the particular form's field from arial to ms sans serif it is working fine ,but our font standard is arial .plz help me to enabling thai language in forms .and also plz suggest me whether arial font does support to thai language or not .
