Problem when passing non English text to another amx page
Hi,
I'm using JDeveloper version 11.1.2.3.0 under windows 7, to deployed ADF Mobile application into android device,
when i used the application to pass 3 input text value to another page (or object)
i note that if passed the 3 text without any English character (means just Arabic,Urdo,Farsi ...)
the next page will received only the last text and the others will be null
that means the other texts Value Change Listener dose not work, they will work just in one case if i used English
or any other special Character (Space bar, Back Space ...) in order to invoke that action
Any help plz
Note:- when i deploy it to iPhone device it is work fine

Hi,
do you have a test case and instructions for me to try and run. Just create a simple page-to-page use case and send it in a ZIP file (renamed to ZIP) for me to test on 11.1.2.4 and file a bug if required. If you have a support contract, you can file a service request with support. My mail addres sis in my OTN profile, just click my name link.

Hi friends,
I am using a variable to display a text in english as a simple list, it is coming fine. Also, when the same variable is used to display any non-english text like korean or japanees, it is coming fine in the output list. But, when I do the print preview using 'LP01' or other test printer, the korean or japanees text is printed to the left (the text is shifted to the left) as result the whole column is shifted to the left.
Can anyone tell what could be the problem & it's possible solution.

I just came over from Sprint 4 days ago and had my number ported over. When I send a text to another number, it shows up on the other phone as coming from email address and not my phone number. For example, if the recipient of the text has me in the contacts as "Tom", the text comes to them displaying my email address instead of "Tom".
cfm007,
Welcome to our family. We want you to be able to enjoy all the services we provide and we definitely need to address this. Do you receive/make calls without problems? Are you able to receive messages with your contacts' number? Are you using iMessages? If so, go to Settings>Messages>Send&Receive>only your phone number should be enabled.

Problem with the Non-English Characters
Hello,
I have been using Adobe Illustrator but I have a huge problem with the non-english characters with Standart Fonts. With the Professional font's I have no problem with them. But when I'm using any standart font in font folio library I cannot type any "ğ-İ-ş". I can add those letters in fontlab with the glyphs (scedilla, idotaccent, gbreve). Most of the fonts have those letters already prepeared so I dont even have to redraw. But I can't add those glyph to every single font because I dont have that kind of time and patience. Is there any better solution for this? Or is there any font folio pack that all fonts are PRO.
I'm looking forward for your answers
Thanks.Joel wrote: I'm told that this is the exact difference between Adobe's Standard and Pro fonts — the Pro fonts have additional glyphs, including those necessary for extended Latin script.
Exactly. The Pro fonts have at a minimum the Adobe Western 3 character set, which is essentially western European + Adobe CE.
> Standard fonts just have the basic English character set, with maybe a bit of help for Spanish and French.
A lot more than that!
> You're doing Turkish, right? Adobe's coverage for Turkish in its fonts is not great - some of the Pro fonts have Turkish coverage, many do not.
This is false. Every single Adobe Pro font supports Turkish.
To be clear:
All Adobe Standard fonts support the following languages: Afrikaans, Basque, Breton, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Gaelic, German, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Sami, Spanish, Swahili and Swedish.
Adobe Pro fonts support those languages, plus AT LEAST: Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Slovenian and Turkish. Some Pro fonts have more language support than this, such as Greek and/or Cyrillic, and additional extended Latin.

How do I remove non English text on my calendar
There is non English text on my iPad and don't know how to remove it
Settings>General>International>Language/Region Format
-
I have worked on i18n for several time in various positions. I mess up non English text first time. The followings are the process:
1.Copy translated text from MS word file into a text editor
2. Run the native2ascii -encoding UTF-8 file1.properties to file2.properties to convert the unicode.
What may cause text encoding error in the above steps?
Thanks very much for your inputs.Is there a connection between the two steps? I don't see one. First you put some data into a text editor, then you ignore it and start working with a file.

RTF to HTML conversion - Non-English Text
Hello,
I am trying to convert a RTF file to a HTML file. Below is the code that I am using. I am not able to convert non-english text properly (German, French, Swedish etc). I like to know the proper way of doing this and if there is a more efficient way of doing this conversion in general (It is taking around 1 minute for this to complete on a 300 MHz, 320 MB iBook). Thanks.
Regards
Sarat
Code Begins
public class FormatConverter {
private DefaultStyledDocument tempRTFDoc;
private HTMLEditorKit htmlKit;
private RTFEditorKit rtfKit;
public FormatConverter () {
tempRTFDoc = new DefaultStyledDocument();
htmlKit = new HTMLEditorKit();
rtfKit = new RTFEditorKit();
public String convert(String strText) {
String strResult = "";
StringReader reader = new StringReader(strText);
try {
tempRTFDoc.remove(0,tempRTFDoc.getLength());
rtfKit.read(reader,tempRTFDoc,0);
ByteArrayOutputStream byteArrayOutputStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
htmlKit.write(byteArrayOutputStream,tempRTFDoc,0,tempRTFDoc.getLength());
strResult = byteArrayOutputStream.toString();
catch(IOException ie){}
catch(BadLocationException ble){}
return strResult;
public static void main(String args[]) {
// Read the rtf file from disk
FileInputStream in = null;
try {
in = new FileInputStream("sample.rtf");
} catch (java.io.FileNotFoundException ioe) {
System.out.println("sample.rtf file not found");
byte []input = new byte[10000];
try {
in.read(input);
} catch (java.io.IOException ioe) {
System.out.println("Error reading from sample.rtf");
// Do the conversion
FormatConverter conv = new FormatConverter();
String strHTML = conv.convert(new String(input));
// Write the html file to disk
FileWriter out = null;
try {
out = new FileWriter("output.html");
} catch (java.io.IOException ioe) {
System.out.println("Error creating file output.html");
try {
for (int i = 0; i < strHTML.length(); i++)
out.write(strHTML.charAt(i));
} catch (java.io.IOException ioe) {
System.out.println("Error writing to file output.html");
// Close the files
try {
if(in != null)
in.close();
if(out != null)
out.close();
} catch (java.io.IOException ioe) {
System.out.println("Error closing files");
System.out.println("Conversion done");
System.exit(0);
Code Endshi,
i'm also trying to do the same thing (convert rtf to html). i was wondering if your conversion handles tables and if so if you could post the code as i'm having trouble finding out info about rtf's.
in terms of stripting out the body tags there are a number of different ways of doing this, here's one way>
myBigHtmlString = your html doc loaded in to a string;
String[] tagsToStripOutArray = {"<html>","</html>","<body>", "</body>", "etc", "etc"};
int pos=0;
for (int x=0; tagsToStripOutArray.length; x++) {
pos = myBigHtmlString.indexOf(tagsToStripOutArray[x]);
if (pos != -1){ // if tag exists in string strip it out
myBigHtmlString = myBigHtmlString.substring(0,pos)+myBigHtmlString.substring(pos+(tagsToStripOutArray[x].length());
}// end for
i haven't compiled this so there maybe errors,
cheers,

Since moving to Maverick and the new updated of Keynote, I have a constant problem when typing in a text box, the program crashes. Is there a bug fix for this. Drives me nuts. Like many who can type quite quickly but at secretarial level, the text box freezes, nothing works and you know what's coming...crash!
This is most annoying. Is there bug fixes for this. Apparently I have the current updates and this problem still exists. Is it a Maverick bug or Keynote.
BarryHow did you install Mavericks, as an update ontop of the previous OS or did you wipe the drive and install clean?

Link to specific text from another web page
Hello all
Is is possible to link from one page to a specific piece of
text in another web page in the same site? I have tried named
anchor, hyperlink, etc but it just goes to the page rather than the
text. I don't know if I am attempting the impossible. Can you help?
Thank v much.> This also has a css rule so this 9pt thing is left over
from copy and
> pasting
> from Word. I have it cleaned up as you suggested but I
still have:
> <span style="font-family:Arial; font-size:9.0pt; is
there way of avoiding
> this?
It depends on your settings for how you copy/paste. See your
PREFERENCES
for those. I don't get such things because my settings are
'tight' in that
they are restrictive to what stying is carried into the page.
> How I do this in a nav bar?
Change this -
.nav {
font: bold normal 14px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
text-transform: none;
color: #003300;
font-weight: bold;
a.nav:link {
font: normal 12px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
text-transform: none;
color: #003300;
text-decoration: none;
a.nav:visited {
font: normal 12px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
text-transform: none;
color: #003300;
text-decoration: none;
to this -
.nav {
text-align:center;
.nav a {
font: bold normal 12px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color: #030;
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration:none;
margin-right:35px;
and then change this -
<div align="center"><a href="index.html"
class="nav">Home</a> <span
class="nav">About
Us</span> <a
href="impact_HE.html" class="nav">Impact of HE
Proposal</a> <a
href="purpose_ED.html"
class="nav">The Purpose of
ED</a> <a
href="procedures.html"
class="nav">Procedures </a> <a
href="what_can_we_do.html" class="nav">What Can We
Do?</a></div>
to this -
<div class="nav"><a
href="index.html">Home</a><a
href="about_us.html">About
Us</a><a href="impact_HE.html">Impact of HE
Proposal</a><a
href="purpose_ED.html">The Purpose of ED</a><a
href="procedures.html">Procedures</a><a
href="what_can_we_do.html">What Can
We Do?</a></div>
But an even better way would be to make the menu an unordered
list, like
this -
<ul>
<li><a
href="index.html">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="about_us.html">About
Us</a></li>
<li><a href="impact_HE.html">Impact of HE
Proposal</a></li>
<li><a href="purpose_ED.html">The Purpose of
ED</a></li>
<li><a
href="procedures.html">Procedures</a></li>
<li><a href="what_can_we_do.html">What Can We
Do?</a></li>
</ul>
And use this CSS -
.nav {
text-align:center;
.nav ul {
list-style-type:none;
margin:0;
padding:0;
overflow:hidden;
.nav li {
float:left;
width:150px;
margin-right:5px;
border-right:1px solid green;
.nav a {
font: bold normal 12px/normal Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color: #030;
font-weight: bold;
text-decoration:none;
If you want to make the current page look like it doesn't
have a link, then
do this -
<ul>
<li><a href="index.html"
id="home">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="about_us.html" id="about">About
Us</a></li>
<li><a href="impact_HE.html" id="impact">Impact
of HE Proposal</a></li>
<li><a href="purpose_ED.html" id="purpose">The
Purpose of ED</a></li>
<li><a href="procedures.html"
id="procedure">Procedures</a></li>
<li><a href="what_can_we_do.html" id="what">What
Can We Do?</a></li>
</ul>
and add this to each page (use the proper ID) -
a#about {
cursor:default;
/* any other styles you want to make the current page show

Make the changes manually in code view.
If you are getting the idea that you will need to ramp your
HTML and CSS
skills to do this stuff, you are right on target!

Is it possible to call an amx page from another amx page via Golink component?
I need to generate a dynamic list with page names where I click on a page name and it takes me to the listed page. For eg., When I declare a page as favourite, a list is updated at the back-end. Now I have this favourites' list on another amx page, and I need to take the user to the specific page when one clicks on the page name. Plz help. I don't want to create control-flow cases for every page in my app so that the navigation happens on the action string, it will be an unnecessary overhead.

Dear support team, as a non English user of your admirably super great application , unfortunately I do sometimes fall in some little icky troubles when i want to underline my text, so i get forced to use the pencil tool each time which burns a huge part of my time and energy out. thus I want to ask you respectfuly, to please add a simple straight line tool so that we can use it and come over these annoying obstacles easily. Thanks for your kind monitoring and attention to all the feedbacks and critisisms. Mojtavbaa.V
Hi,
Adobe Reader allows users to underline text irrespective of the language, provided that the PDF is not a scanned image. Are you unable to do the same? Could you provide us with a sample file where you are observing the issue at [email protected] so that we may investigate the issue?
Thanks,
Adobe Reader Team -
