Problem when synching computer to ipod

I have been using Itunes with my ipod nano for over a year. I download songs and have no problems. When I connect to sync it is not recognizing the ipod and then gets an error message. I have followed all of the ipod troubleshooting steps and have deleted and reinstalled itunes and am still experiencing the same issue.

That doesn’t to be the problem. When I connect the ipod to the computer it says "Itunes has detected an ipod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore the ipod before it can be used with itunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting again." I disconnected and reconnected many times, I have restarted, check for updates, and finally restored my ipod. It has deleted everything off of my ipod then I get a do not disconnect message that never goes away. What should I do please advise?

  • My music will not sync to my ipod it only says revert and I cant open up music i purchased on itunes. I started having this problem when I updated my ipod

My music will not sync to my ipod it only says revert and I cant open or play music i purchase on itunes. This problem occured when i updated my ipod.
    Thanks

I also have a 4G ipod touch and a similar problem. Since I updated to the ios5 software any new songs I add to my iTunes don't sync to my ipod main playlist. They show up in the 'recently added' playlist, but not in the main 'songs' section. I fixed the problem once by restoring to factory settings and rather than reinstalling from a backup, I created a new ipod name and synced everything onto my ipod as if it was new.
This worked until the next new song I added and then the same problem started all over again. If you do reinstall everything as new, you may want to take a screen shot of where all your apps are and make sure all your photos etc are saved, as everything will be from scratch. Hope this helps!

  • Are there problems when buying an old ipod touch 4G?

I want to buy a used iPod Touch 4G, and I wanted to ask some questions: Are there some problems while switching from the old user's Apple ID to mine? Can he control the iPod Touch remotely and block me? Can I unlock it by myself or must I request informations from him? If I must, wich informations must he provide? Thanks.

Just restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.  Once you do that, the previous owner can't do anything. If the iPod has a screen passcode, just place the iPod in recovery mode and restore the iPod via itunes.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
One the iPod is set up as a new iPod you can enter your Apple/iTunes ID and password and sync to your computer.

  • Synch Computer to Ipod

I spent a couple of weeks at a friend's house, and while there I reorganized my iPod Touch with new and revised playlists, along with adding and deleting songs. In other words, a major reorganization.
Now I'm back home, and what I'd like to do is synch my iMac to my ipod! Is there a way to do that? Thanks!

If you manually do it, you can put as many song as you want. For example- you can go to your friends house and put his music on your Ipod and then come back to your computer and manually put them in. Now you have His and your music.
But if I remember the Ipod can only be in one format. (" What do you mean?") I mean if you look at your ipod settings you will see the format of the ipod. (this was on the old one, not sure on the new) and it had Format: (windows) or (Mac)
If you sync your Ipod from a PC to a Mac I will reformat the Hole thing so it only works on mac. But then again I am not sure about. I have heard from 2 people, That I trust.
Anyways Good luck hope it helps

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Since things seem to be a bit mucked up, I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Problem when flying and using Ipod

Everytime I fly my ipod crashes. Has anyone experienced this before? How do I fix it?

This is not an uncommon complaint. If you search these forums going back a ways you will find a decent number of people who have iPods that after getting up in the air stop working until the land again.
The iPod is supposed to be good to some number of feet (10,000 maybe?) and airlines normally pressurize their cabins to be no more than the equiv of 8000 feet, but often less, so normally should be below the pressure levels for proper iPod use.
But, yes, some people just seem to have ones that don't even like a few/several thousand feet of elevation. Not much you can do about it unfortunately other than buying another one for flight use (maybe a flash based Nano would hold enough for most plane rides).

  • Help w/ problem, When starting computer IDVD opens automatically.

I've had my Mac Book for about a year and a half and love it. In the last week however whenever I turn it on, IDVD automatically opens at startup. How can I make it stop?

Firstly, check the login items to see if you accidentally added it there. Next, try repairing permissions.

  • Battery problem when computer sleeps

Hi, I have Lenovo S12 , for about six months.
I use the battery which came with the computer.
It worked well till this problem : when the computer goes to sleep, even if the battery is full, it hibernates after really short time.
When I turn it on, it says that Windows didn't shut down properly due to low battery, but when it starts, it shows that the battery is full, and it behaves normally, I really can use it for about 3 hours.
Please help, what can I do??

  • Volume level when i play my Ipod

Hi guys, I need some help with this. I'm a totally new usser of an Ipod and I'm having some problems whit the level of the volume in some albums. When I insert a new cd in my computer, itunes always ask me about if I want to import the songs but never show me a kind of opptions about the volume in the recording so I have some especific albums that when I play it, the volume is lower than the rest of my other albums ¿what can I do? this is especially a problem when I use my Ipod in my car (FM converter).
    Thanks in advance
    30 GB   Windows 98

Soundcheck is what you should be looking for.
It's in the edit/preferences/playback menu. Once you do this iTunes will go through all your imported songs files, so you'll need to sync the songs to your ipod again to reflect the changes.
Also, turn on the soundcheck feature in your iPod. Settings/soundcheck/on.
When you import a cd into iTunes, there is no option to adjust the volume.

  • Album Songs Appear Multiple Times When Synching

Hey all, I keep encountering a problem when synching my iPhone. One of my albums (Daft Punk, 'Discovery') when synched has some of the songs appear twice. When I synch my iPod, I don't encounter this issue though.
On top of that, if I download the album directly from the iTunes store on my iPhone, this doesn't happen. As such, I can narrow it down to the PC synch. Any ideas of what's going on? What can I do to fix it? All I've done before is delete the multiple songs manually on my phone, but that gets annoying.

It's been a few days now and no one's responded. I've figured out a fix for this problem from some alternate forums.
    Here's my fix:
    1. Find the album to fix and select all tracks.
    2. Change the album's name to anything but the original title. In this case, we'll rename the album "Fix Me".
    3. Sync your iPod.
    4. Change the album's name from "Fix Me" to the original title.
    5. Sync your iPod once again.
Step 3 may be irrelevant for some, but I found that some albums needed to be synced twice to work properly.
Hope this terribly inconvenient and temporary fix will hold others over until iTunes is updated.

  • IPod Classic not recognized by iTunes, claims to be wiped of all content, and causes computer problems when connected

I have an 80 GB iPod Classic that has suddenly developed severe problems. I'm running iTunes on Windows 7 64 bit.
It was working fine until last night, when I connected it to iTunes to add 6 songs. (Four of these were bought on Amazon.com and 2 ripped from CD's). It accepted the songs and played them fine when connected. When I clicked the icon in iTunes to eject the iPod, it came up with the "OK to Disconnect" and progress bar as usual. However, this time the progress bar didn't start to fill in. It just sat there.
After several minutes the progress bar finally filled in and returned to the menu... but instead of displaying the cover flow on the right side as usual, it showed a gray box with "No Music."
When I tried to re-connect it to my computer, iTunes would not recognize it. My computer also wouldn't recognize it at first... after several minutes, it came up as a generic removable device. Attempting to right-click on it or eject it from Windows was unsuccessful.
The iPod itself displayed "Connected" and alternated the plug image with the spinning arrows. It never said "Synchronizing" as it usually does.
Furthermore, my computer's performance degraded severely while the iPod was plugged in. iTunes itself froze, and even my other applications (such as my web browser) would not work correctly. This all cleared up as soon as I unplugged the iPod. If I tried to initialize iTunes while the iPod was plugged in, it would not open. It opened immediately when I unplugged the iPod.
Finally, despite claiming to have no music or other contents (it had contained only my iTunes music library, which is about 26.5 GB), in Settings the iPod claimed to have only 5.3 GB of free space.
Resetting the iPod with Select/Menu made no change. I was able to put it in diagnostic mode and check the hard drive, which gave these results:
    Retracts: 381
    Reallocs: 0
    Pending Sectors: 10
    PowerOn Hours: 417
    Smart/Stops: 381
    Temp: Current 24c
    Temp: Min 15c
    Temp: Max 48c
When I put the iPod up to my ear I hear a steady, faint high-pitched sound and an occasional very faint crackling noise. When it shuts down the sound continues for a few seconds, then ends with a kind of squeaking sound.
The iPod is more than 5 years old, so I'm prepared for the probability that it's fried. But I'd like to try everything before I go ahead and spring for a new one.

The iPod's hard drive probably has data corruption.  That does not necessarily mean there is a hardware problem.  Hard drives, including the ones in computers, can develop data corruption.
Try putting the iPod into Disk Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1363
If it goes into Disk Mode, run iTunes on the computer and connect the iPod.  To eliminate other potential issues, you should disconnect other USB devices (you can leave standard keyboard/mouse connected), and connect the iPod to a direct USB port on the computer.
iTunes may prompt you to do a Restore, which you should do.  This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  If the problem was only data corruption, and there is no hardware problems, the iPod should have a "fresh start."  You can sync it from your iTunes library.
If the iPod does not go into Disk Mode, or if doing a Restore fails, the iPod's hard drive may be faulty.
