Problem when synching iPod

OK, this is really weird. I downloaded Superbad, but when I went to put it on my iPod, it wouldn't synch. However, the weird part is that it started to synch. When it got about 1/3 of the wway done snyching, it just stopped as if it was finished, but it wasn't. Can anybody help? I have the most recent version of iTunes and the most updated iPod software.

That doesn’t to be the problem. When I connect the ipod to the computer it says "Itunes has detected an ipod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore the ipod before it can be used with itunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting again." I disconnected and reconnected many times, I have restarted, check for updates, and finally restored my ipod. It has deleted everything off of my ipod then I get a do not disconnect message that never goes away. What should I do please advise?

  • Problem when synching computer to ipod

I have been using Itunes with my ipod nano for over a year. I download songs and have no problems. When I connect to sync it is not recognizing the ipod and then gets an error message. I have followed all of the ipod troubleshooting steps and have deleted and reinstalled itunes and am still experiencing the same issue.

That doesn’t to be the problem. When I connect the ipod to the computer it says "Itunes has detected an ipod that appears to be corrupted. • Problem with synching iPod 4th gen Nano to iTunes Vista 8.02

Not had a problem with this Nano - sometimes hangs on first play nothing a reset doesn't cure - til now.
For some reason iTunes decided a Smart playlist (To delete - if I rate one star it lists it there) was missing when it was there, just disappeared for a while. It eventually came back after I recreated it.
This meant the other playlists I synch from fell over and refused to synch to the iPod (having a massive collection and only a 8Gb Nano means I tend to have playlist for Recent stuff, and random shuffle type playlists).
So I deleted the condition in those Smart Playlists, and thought it was fine...nope, it now only synchs less that half of the iPod, even though the playlists have loads more tunes in them. Tried deleting the 'To Delete' playlist(s), restoring the iPod, upgrading from 8 to 8.0.2 - no dice. Even a restart and an iPod reset doesn't fix it.
It just says 'synch complete' when there are obviously many more files to download, it usually only does 300-600 then stops. Sometimes it tells me (wrongly) there is not enought space on the iPod by 0.2 of a Gb or something, and says it won't synch. When I reduce the size of one of the playlists, it then goes back to saying 'Synch complete'.
Don't know what's wrong with it - could it be the iTunes library - I moved it to an external USB drive, and switched from my XP machine to this one, but it seemed to be working fine? Hence the restart - I had switched off the drive when I put the laptop into suspend mode, so initially it wasn't there, so I thought iTunes might have gotten confused, and did a restart after upgrade. Still the same.
    Any ideas?

Nope still doing it. Just got to 2-thirds full.
So what's happening now it says
'Ipod cannot be synched, playlists are 1.82Gb and there is 1.77Gb on the iPod'
Fine, you then reduce the size of one of the playlists by say 100-200Mb:
Then it doesn't sync those files - it doesn't sync anything and says 'Sync completed' and 'Ok to disconnect'
    Argh.
    BTW what's sentinel?

  • File not Found error when synching Ipod

I have a fairly new Ipod and synced successfully for months, but now iTunes says it cant synch because of a "File not Found error" (no error number or other clues). I'm running the latest iTines and Ipod software, and I've reset USB drivers but still no luck. I cant reset the iPod itself becase I then got a "1418 error", which is why I then reset USB. I'm stuck, has anyone seen this before?
The Ipod itself plays fine and Itunes recgnises it OK, albeit very slowly, even thought I'm using USB 2.
One other piece of info; when this first happened, the sync must have first deleted the songs I no longer wanted, prior to unsuccesfully adding new ones. Those old songs show up on the iPod but are skipped when I try to play them.

Its on the same thread as this one ("connecting iPod nano (second Generation ) to Windows"). Scroll through the authors, you will find it.

  • ITunes Resyches my Library randomly when synching iPod

I am running the latest iTunes (8.0.1.11) on a fully patched Vista Ultimate. I have a Fifth Generation iPod (iPod with video) which is running the latest firmware (1.3). I do not and never have gotten any BSOD when running iTunes, so I don't seem to have a Vista - iTunes issues specifically.
All the music I have is on a network drive, and all the PodCasts are local. When I moved from my old laptop to this one, I exported my library and imported to the new laptop. After waiting for a really long time for the library to import, all seemed well. I deauthorized the old laptop, and authorized my new laptop.
When I plugged in the iPod for the first time, I selected the "Erase and Sync to New Library" option. The iPod took a really long time, expected since I have over 6000 songs, but it never finished synching. I connected multiple times and finally got everything on the iPod.
The next day, I plugged in to repower and synch a few new Podcasts. 30 minutes later, I noticed that it was still synching, and it read "Copying 350 of 3096: XXX". No idea why, but it was copying files that were not changed. Since then, about 3 out of 4 synchs are for 2000 - 4000 of the songs in my library. There doesn't seem to be any pattern on how many songs it thinks it needs to synch, or on how it determines that it needs to lose a huge amount of the library. If I diconnect prior to letting it finish the synch, it actually has cleared all the songs it was trying to synch.
Anyone know what I might be able to do?

Just downloaded iTunes ver. 9.0.0.70. After that my iTunes library on my PC has vanished. However, all of my music is still on my iPod. iTunes offered me the option of synching purchased music, which I took, so that music is now in my iTunes library. But, I have thousands of songs that were downloaded from CDs which are on my iPod, but not anywhere on my PC (running XP, Service Pack 2). Is there a way to get iTunes to accept non-purchased music when I synch the iPod? Thanks.
Your library should not have disappeared. It might be a setting. Try checking for the default music directory under the Preferences tab. You might have to change it to where your library is actually located on your computer.
If you did lose it for some reason there are NUMEROUS articles on the forums and in the Support section of iTunes regarding how to get a library off of your iPod and onto your computer.
Be careful how you sync your iPod (I always suggest enabling disk use and syncing manually).
There are lots of third-party programs that are free or cost something that you can also use. Again, a quick search of the forums should bring up numerous references.
Hope this helps a little. Please keep us posted!

  • Problem when charging Ipod

Hi there, any help would be appreciated
It seems my battery died, so when trying to charge it up via PC, it just says "Please Wait Very Low Battery" which is all when and good, but it doesn't change, and just sticks on this. I have tried removing it from the power supply and manually restoring it, but this won't work.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks again

normally, the battery needs to be replaced around 18-24 months, if you have done the reset and still cant solve the charing problem (make sure the ipod cable is not a faulty one), then it is the name for a battery replacement
an option other than get the battery from apple shop

  • Problem with Synching iPod Touch

Just picked up my iPod Touch today at a local Best Buy. And so far I love it. I love the web browser and youtube. But I have a big problem with syncing it. I spent 2 hours on the phone with the support only to find out I have to wait 3-5 days for a call back. It basically won't sync. It will try and do a couple songs then error out and say device is not connected or device and not be written or read from. Support could not understand the problem and neither can I. I have 2.0 USB ports too. I tried another computer and it worked fine. Anyone got a solution?

    Well then I'm all out!
Hope you get it sorted soon.

I'd like to help you get the SexPod up and running again but you've posted on the iTunes for Windows side of these boards and although for the most part we're a pretty nice bunch of people here - if I do say so myself - generally speaking you'll be better off if you post your question over on the iTunes for Mac side.
    Good Luck!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Since things seem to be a bit mucked up, I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Album Songs Appear Multiple Times When Synching

Hey all, I keep encountering a problem when synching my iPhone. One of my albums (Daft Punk, 'Discovery') when synched has some of the songs appear twice. When I synch my iPod, I don't encounter this issue though.
On top of that, if I download the album directly from the iTunes store on my iPhone, this doesn't happen. As such, I can narrow it down to the PC synch. Any ideas of what's going on? What can I do to fix it? All I've done before is delete the multiple songs manually on my phone, but that gets annoying.

It's been a few days now and no one's responded. I've figured out a fix for this problem from some alternate forums.
    Here's my fix:
    1. Find the album to fix and select all tracks.
    2. Change the album's name to anything but the original title. In this case, we'll rename the album "Fix Me".
    3. Sync your iPod.
    4. Change the album's name from "Fix Me" to the original title.
    5. Sync your iPod once again.
Step 3 may be irrelevant for some, but I found that some albums needed to be synced twice to work properly.
Hope this terribly inconvenient and temporary fix will hold others over until iTunes is updated.
