Problem when using weblogic.jspc from an IDE

I am trying to call JSPC from an IDE (as part of an Eclipse Builder). To optimize performance I want to avoid to spwan a new process. So I am trying to call weblogic.jspc's main method directly from the IDE. Everything works fine for simple simple pages.
          But when the page refers to a tag library with a tag providing a TagExtraInfo class, weblogic.jspc complains about the class not extending the TagExtraInfo base class although it does:
          Errors encountered while compiling 'D:\vrp-localdeploy\applications\wot\WOT' :
          Translation of /rentalcar/tiles/i18n/CarCapacityView.jsp failed: (line 17): Error in using tag library uri='/tags/i18n' prefix='i18n': For tag 'bundle', extra info class 'org.apache.taglibs.i18n.BundleTEI' does not extend javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagExtraInfo
          I could not figure out what exactly causes the problem. Using exactly the same settings workes just fine.
          Any suggestions?

The full stack trace reads as follows:
          <p>

          <p>
          Unfortunately it doesn't really give any real reason - it is a general piece of code in jspc to report problems.
          <p>
          But I dug a lot bit deeper into the code and realized that the original problem is a ClassCastException in line 1290 of class StandardTagLib, which reads as follows:
          <p>
               tagextrainfo = (TagExtraInfo)Beans.instantiate(classloader, s3);
          <p>
          This looks quite obvious that the class named by s3 simply is no extension of TagExtraInfo, but unfortunately the only class with that name being referenced by the class path does extend this class. I wondered what the problem might be and came up with the following answer:
          <p>
          The class of the bean instantiated by Beans.instantiate extends a class with the name "javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.TagExtraInfo" which is cast to another class with exactly <b>the same name, but a different class loader</b>. Since neither of the class loaders is parent of the other one, both classes are not considered being the same class although they have the same name. Sounds weird, but exactly this is the problem!
          <p>
          Where does it come from and why it works fine when the tool is executed in a separate thread or on the console?
          <p>
          From my understanding the problem is caused in line 395 of the class weblogic.jspc:
          <p>
               GenericClassLoader genericclassloader = new GenericClassLoader(classpathclassfinder);
          <p>
          This line of code creates a class loader not knowing a parent class loader by which the class weblogic.jspc was loaded. All classes weblogic.jspc is using or calling will be loader by either the same or a parent class loader - this is important to understand. Since TagExtraInfo is directly referenced by StandardTagLib one instance of the class object (the object of type class) will be generated and linked when the class StandardTagLib is instantiated for the first time by the class loader which loaded weblogic.jspc (or by its parent). This is consequence which can not be avoided.
          <p>
          But now look at line 1290 of class StandardTagLib: It explicitly requests the class to be loaded by the GenericClassLoader instantiated in line 395 of the class weblogic.jspc. This class loader, off course, is not aware of the same class just being loaded by another class loader since it has no knowledge of it. It simply creates a fresh copy of the class object, which only differs in the reference to the class loader which created this class object.
          <p>
          Actually, I figured that the following line of code replacing the upper one, would resolve the problem:
          <p>
          GenericClassLoader genericclassloader = new GenericClassLoader(classpathclassfinder, this.getClass().getClassLoader());
          <p>
          Doing this, the GenericClassLoader would know its logical parent by reference and would implicitly - thanks to the implementation of java.lang.ClassLoader - try to find the class using its parent first, would find a valid class, and hence use the same instance of the class object instantiated by the parent class loader. The problem would be solved.
          <p>
          It works fine in the console or under a running application server, because they will always have the weblogic jar in their system class path. ClassLoaders not having a parent are implied to have the system class loader as their parent - the piece of code does work in this case.
          <p>
          Under Eclipse this is no option, off course. We would restrain us to exactly this version of the APIs used by the weblogic version in the system class path.
          <p>
          I was trying to patch this myself by extending weblogic.jspc by my own class to pass on a proper class loader knowing its parent, and I was sort of successful: The problem disappeared. But I can't gain exactly what I am looking for, because the method runJspc with four parameters (around line 447) of weblogic.jspc is private to the class and its public brother always passes true to this method as the fourth parameter - causing jspc to recompile all JSPs instead of just the requested ones.
          <p>
          Everything refers to WL81SP3.
          <p>
          That's were I got stuck currently. I have read some postings about this problem in the internet - some dating far back into the history. So, I have the impression that there have been some folks around with the same problem. I think the patch I suggested does not any harm and I could simply use jspc in my builder without any problems.
          <p>

  • Problem modifying the connection details in a Report when using Weblogic 12

    Hi
    I have a j2ee application that uses the Java Reporting Component (JRC). At runtime, the code programmatically changes the connection type and schema name of a crystal report before running it. The connection that was used when designing the report is replaced with new JNDI parameters pointing to a Weblogic/Oracle datasource.
    The application works perfectly when using Weblogic 11, but the same code and report fails when deployed to Weblogic 12.
    I used Version 12.2.207.916 of the JRC, and updating  to the most current version I could find (12.2.217) did not solve the problem.
    The code snippet below shows how the connection and schema name is replaced for each of the tables in the report (not all the code is shown here)...
            PropertyBag propertyBag = new PropertyBag();
            propertyBag.put("Database DLL", "crdb_jdbc.dll");
            propertyBag.put("JNDI Datasource Name", jndiName);
            propertyBag.put("Initial Context", "");
                while (tableList.hasNext()) {
                    ITable table = tableList.next();
                    ITable tableNew = (ITable) table.clone(true);
                    IConnectionInfo connectionInfo = table.getConnectionInfo();
                    connectionInfo.setAttributes(propertyBag);
                    connectionInfo.setKind(ConnectionInfoKind.SQL);
                    tableNew.setQualifiedName(newQualifier + "." + table.getName());
                    tableNew.setConnectionInfo(connectionInfo);
                    dbController.setTableLocation(table, tableNew);
    The setTableLocation() function throws the following exception ...

    Last reference in any documentation re. version of supported weblogic is 10.3.x. And it may very well be that things worked in weblogic 11, but as versions go by the differences get bigger and eventually the app stops working.
    I'll ping the Program Manager for definitive info and future support. Once I have the info, I'll update this Discussion.

  • Error using jar, but the programme works right when i run it from any IDE

    I have a programme with 25 .java archives. Is a GUI with a main panel and a JToolBar. When i run ir from Eclipse iDE, NetBeans or in the Linux shell it works rigth. Then i try to make a .jar. In the process i haven't any error, and when the application starts either. But when i click in some of the JMenuItems, they don't work. The function of this Items are change the main panel. It's like some .class of event listeners aren't included, but i check the .jar and has the same .class archives than the compiled project.
    What can be problem?? It's very urgent, please.

    I'm so sorry for annoying you, i'm a poor stupid
    student that don't have money to hire an expert, so i
    try to learn and find help everywhere. But, don't
    worry, i resolve my problem by myself.what errors are you getting. It would be helpful if you could post the errors or some stack traces that you are getting

  • ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate

    ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate a form.
    1) Created a FORM on EMP using the wizards. This creates an AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH
    TABLE NAME - EMP
    Item Containing PRIMARY KEY - P2099_EMPNO
    Primary key column - EMPNO
    By default the automatic fetch has a ‘Process Error Message’ of ‘Unable to fetch row.’
    2) Created a HTML region. Within this region add
    text item P2099_FIND_EMPNO
    Button GET_EMP to submit
    Branch Modified the conditional branch created during button creation to set P2099_EMPNO with &P2099_FIND_EMPNO.
    If I then run the page, enter an existing employee number into P2099_EMPNO and press the GET_EMP button the form is populated correctly. But if I enter an employee that does not exist then I get the oracle error ORA-01403: no data found and no form displayed but a message at the top of the page ‘Action Processed’.I was expecting a blank form to be displayed with the message ‘Unable to fetch row.’
    I can work around this by making the automated fetch conditional so that it checks the row exists first. Modify the Fetch row from EMP automated fetch so that it is conditional
    EXIST (SQL query returns at least one row)
    select 'x'
    from EMP
    where EMPNO = :P2099_EMPNO
    But this means that when the employee exists I must be fetching from the DB twice, once for the condition and then again for the actual row fetch.
    Rather than the above work around is there something I can change so I don’t get the Oracle error? I’m now wondering if the automatic row fetch is only supposed to be used when linking a report to a form and that I should be writing the fetch process manually. The reason I haven’t at the moment is I’m trying to stick with the automatic wizard generation as much as I can.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks Pete

    Hi Mike,
    I've tried doing that but it doesn't seem to make any difference. If I turn debug on it shows below.
    0.05: Computation point: AFTER_HEADER
    0.05: Processing point: AFTER_HEADER
    0.05: ...Process "Fetch Row from EMP": DML_FETCH_ROW (AFTER_HEADER) F|#OWNER#:EMP:P2099_EMPNO:EMPNO
    0.05: Show ERROR page...
    0.05: Performing rollback...
    0.05: Processing point: AFTER_ERROR_HEADER
    I don't really wan't the error page, either nothing with the form not being populated or a message at the top of the page.
    Thanks Pete

  • Problem when using About Operator in Contains Query

    Hi,
    I'm new to Oracle and this forums too. I have a problem when using about operator in contains query.
    I create a table with some records and then create a context index on 'name' column.
    CREATE TABLE my_items (
      id           NUMBER(10)      NOT NULL,
      name         VARCHAR2(200)   NOT NULL,
      description  VARCHAR2(4000)  NOT NULL,
      price        NUMBER(7,2)     NOT NULL
    ALTER TABLE my_items ADD (
      CONSTRAINT my_items_pk PRIMARY KEY (id)
    CREATE SEQUENCE my_items_seq;
    INSERT INTO my_items VALUES(my_items_seq.nextval, 'Car', 'Car description', 1);
    INSERT INTO my_items VALUES(my_items_seq.nextval, 'Train', 'Train description', 2);
    INSERT INTO my_items VALUES(my_items_seq.nextval, 'Japan', 'Japan description', 3);
    INSERT INTO my_items VALUES(my_items_seq.nextval, 'China', 'China description', 4);
    COMMIT;
    EXEC ctx_ddl.create_preference('english_lexer','basic_lexer');
    EXEC ctx_ddl.set_attribute('english_lexer','index_themes','yes');
    EXEC ctx_ddl.set_attribute('english_lexer','theme_language','english');
    CREATE INDEX my_items_name_idx ON my_items(name) INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT PARAMETERS('lexer english_lexer');
    EXEC ctx_ddl.sync_index('my_items_name_idx');Then I perform contains query to retrieve record :
    SELECT count(*) FROM my_items WHERE contains(name, 'Japan', 1) > 0;
    COUNT(*)
          1
    SELECT count(*) FROM my_items WHERE contains(name, 'about(Japan)', 1) > 0;
    COUNT(*)
          1But the problem is when I using ABOUT operator like in Oracle's English Knowledge Base Category Hierarchy it return 0
    SELECT count(*) FROM my_items WHERE contains(name, 'about(Asia)', 1) > 0;
    COUNT(*)
          0
    SELECT count(*) FROM my_items WHERE contains(name, 'about(transportation)', 1) > 0;
    COUNT(*)
          0I can't figure out what 's wrong in my query or in my index.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hello (and welcome),
    You'd be best asking this question in the Oracle Text forum, here:
    Text
    And by the way, it will help others to analyse if you put {noformat}{noformat} (lowercase code in curly brackets) before and after your code snippets.
    Good luck!

  • How to specify encoding=gb2312 when using weblogc.jspc?

    Hi,
              I have tried to compile jsp pages using weblogic.jspc, but found out
              that I can not get the same result as compiling on the fly.
              When compiling on the fly, I can find these in the generated java source:
              out = pageContext.getOut();
              ((weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspWriterImpl)out).setEncoding("gb2312");
              response.setHeader("Content-Type", "text/html; charset=gb2312");
              HttpSession session = request.getSession(true);
              But when compiling with weblogic.jspc, I can only find these:
              out = pageContext.getOut();
              HttpSession session = request.getSession(true);
              In my weblogic.properties file, I have this:
              weblogic.httpd.initArgs.*.jsp=\
              pageCheckSeconds=2,\
              compileCommand=c:/jdk1.3/bin/javac.exe,\
              workingDir=c:/Develop/weblogic/myserver/classfiles,\
              keepgenerated=true,\
              encoding=gb2312,\
              verbose=true
              And the command line to compile manually is:
              java weblogic.jspc -verbose -verboseJavac -compiler
              c:\jdk1.3\bin\javac.exe -d ../classfiles -keepgenerated -encoding "gb2312"
              MY_JSP_NAME.jsp
              That seems to be caused by that weblogic.jspc can not get encoding parameter
              correctly,
              can anybody tell me why?

    term is not a http address, but a directory address. So, you have to specify the path on the server:
    term=c:\oracle\forms90\.....

  • Problems when printing help topics from OHJ

    We have encountered some persistent problems when printing help topics from Oracle Help for Java (Ice Browser).
    NOTE: When we print the same source files from Oracle Help for the Web, the printing problems are gone.
    (1) Spacing Errors (all printers had identical results)
    Text with special formatting (<b>, <i>) often has either too much space or not enough space.
    Links often have extra spaces underlined before or after the link, itself.
    (2) When printing multiple help topics from the TOC (an entire branch in the tree):
    On some printers, no graphics print correctly, but instead print as one of the following: 1. empty box the size of one character, 2. black box the size of one character, 3. black box the size of the original graphic. We could not detect a pattern that caused 1, 2, or 3.
    NOTE: all graphics are bit maps (screen captures) that were generated in the same manner.
    NOTE: if these same help topics are printed one at a time form Oracle Help for Java, the graphics print fine.
    Is this a problem with the Ice Browser?
    Thanks for the help,
    Wendy Studinski

    There are a known issue with the ICEBrowser printing in some circumstances. The laying out of text by the ICE Browser relies on font metrics (being able to measure the width of a run of text in a given font). On screen it looks great, but when printing, even though the GraphicsConfiguration for the printer is being used, these widths are sometimes off, which can result in text running together at boundaries between text styles. We're not sure what to do about this problem, and we've reported it to IceSoft.
    Not every font has this problem, so varying the font you are using might help the appearance when printed.
    The other problem you report, problems with the images when printing multiple topics, is something that we will look into.

  • NLS support problems when using AL32UTF8 in dads.conf

    Hello,
    Following a post by Joel Kallman, in one of the forum threads, about the mandatory use of AL32UTF8 in dads.conf, when running HTML DB v2.0, I changed my PlsqlNLSLanguage parameter accordingly.
    Prior to the change, I experienced some problems when using non-English characters – some application items appeared as gibberish when contained non-English characters, and the LIKE operator didn't perform as expected. After the change, it all seems to work OK, but now I have a different problem.
    All the non-English characters in my HTML page source code appears as gibberish. On screen, at run time, everything display correctly, but the source code seems to be corrupted. It is very difficult, and very annoying to debug the pages that way. Is there a way to enjoy both worlds – Using AL32UTF8 in the dads.conf, as required, and still getting a coherent HTML source code, containing non-English characters?
    Thanks,
    Arie.

    i tried everything in this article, but still have the same problem when using Rapidweaver software. NOT with other software. I am converting my iWeb site  to Rapidweaver, whenever there is a calmer period in my office. I have 16 Gb RAM on my NEW iMac and have Parallels desktop, mail, safari, iWeb and Rapidweaver running simultanious.
    I never have the problem if i don't use Rapidweaver, but after i have added several pages to Rapidweaver, the problem begins. my iMac won't start up. the only thing that works is re-installing Macos OS X 10.8. i tried even whiping the completeharddrive, and reinstalling with a complete new user, the same problem.
    I had it on my previous iMac also, and bought a new one because i thought the problem was in the iMac first. i hadn't noticed it only happens with using rapidweaver.
    i sent my complete rapidweaver project to the programmers from rapidweaver at Realmacsoftware, but they couldnt reproduce my problem, there macs started up without any problem.
    i deleted all the rapidweaver addons and extra stacks, and started a complete new project.
    saterday i had the problem again, after adding about 5 new pages to my rapidweaver site.
    i think i have reinstalled Macos OS X 10.8.2 20 or 30 times by now

    Type '''about:support''' in the URL bar and hit Enter.
    Scroll down almost to the bottom of that listing and see if you have '''user.js Preferences''' just above the '''''Graphics''''' category.
    If you do have that, click on '''user.js file''' in this sentence. <br />
    ''Your profile folder contains a user.js file, which includes preferences that were not created by Firefox.''
    Does that "different homepage" appear in that user.js file?

  • Problem when using Javabeans in ADF?

    Hi,
    I encountered a problem when using ADF.
    Please look at the following 2 classes :
    public class Person
    private String name;
    private String city;
    private int age;
    public Person(String name, int age, String city)
    this.name = name;
    this.age = age;
    this.city = city;
    public Person()
    public void setName(String name)
    this.name = name;
    public String getName()
    return name;
    public void setAge(int age)
    this.age = age;
    public int getAge()
    return age;
    public void setCity(String city)
    this.city = city;
    public String getCity()
    return city;
    public class PersonFactory
    public PersonFactory()
    public List getPersons()
    List list = new ArrayList();
    list.add(new Person("peit", 18, "dalian"));
    list.add(new Person("robin", 22, "shenyang"));
    list.add(new Person("Joe", 30, "York"));
    list.add(new Person("Edi", 23, "Beijing"));
    return list;
    public List getNames()
    List list = new ArrayList();
    list.add("Peit");
    list.add("Robin");
    list.add("Joe");
    list.add("Edi");
    return list;
    public void commit()
    System.out.println("Data commited");
    I created the PersonFactory class as DataControl, so I can use the getPersons() and getNames()(just for test, so they are simple), I drag the names from
    the DataControl palette as Table in a JClientPanel, good luck, it works and displays the 4 Strings in a table, but when I drag the persons from
    the DataControl palette as Table in the same JClientPanel, it does not work and raises exception :

    Hi, Frank
    Thank you for your reply.
    I am sorry for not explaining well. I mean that the getNames() works fine, but getPersons() does not. The only diferenece between them is the former is simple string and the latter is javabean, but when I made the PersonFactory as DataControl, I set the bean class Person for the getPersons()(list of persons) bean class.
    I debuged the class, the exceptions raised when the table for getPersons() setModel() method called.
    So, where is the problem?
    Thanks.
