Problem while adding SAP Netweaver 7.3 As Java in Solution Manager 7.1

Hi All,
We are facing strange problem while configuring managed system- SAP Netweaver 7.3 As Java in Solution manager 7.1 SP3. We added this system in SLD of solution manager and synchronized it with LMDB. As a result this As Java system is present under Technical systems in SMSY. Now we are assigning Product system to it with Landscape verification tool. But the problem is when we try to save after assigning Product version as SAP Netweaver and Product as SAP Netweaver 7.3. It always gives below error:
Fatal error trying to update Technical System (UPDATE_TSYSTEMS). Update could not be executed.
Product instance 54 not found
Product instance number error keep on changing depend upon what usage i select like ADS 7.3, Application Server Java 7.3 etc.
Please suggest if someone has faced this issue.

You can refer to my first blog on this topic:

Try to select only one product instance in LMDB and saved. After that, you can add more product instance in SMSY.

Problems while Installung SAP NetWeaver Portal

Hello,
while Installing a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 SR1 AS Java for a first test of SAP Portal functionality the process seems to get into a loop. The status message "Begin of SAP J2EE Engine Deployment (J2EE Application) *****" is shown at the bottom of SAPinst-Dialog. It's the same for now about 22 hours and no change in log files for the same time.
Could anyone please help me?

thanks to all who contributed to the solution of my problem.
I tried many things, but i think the main "fault" was an incorrect configured transport host.
- in the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts i inserted/changed the entry <IP-Address of host> <fully qualified name of host> SAPTRANSHOST. By the way, the host runs Windows Server 2003.
Other things i have done:
- installing j2sdk1.4.2_30-x64 instead of j2sdk1.4.2_17-x64
- setting the environment variable JAVA_HOME to c:\j2sdk1.4.2_30-x64 instead of j2sdk1.4.2_30-x64 - the installation of the JDK seems to set this variable automatically to the directory name only, and not to the complete path, so be careful
- updating the page file size (see instructions in Installation Guide)
- reducing file cache size (see instructions in Installation Guide)
The next problem i had was an incompletely running AS Java
- help was restarting the host
- and maybe inserting the file D:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\MAC_ADDRESS with content <hostname> xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx where xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is the MAC-Address of the host

Problem while installing SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 SP3!

Hi,
I am installing SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 SP3 on Windows XP Pro. The installation
proceeds normally till Step 26 but at Step 26 while creating and startiong
SAPStartSrv an error is thrown that the Service can not be started in 40 seconds.
If I retry the installation it is terminated with some errors.
The service sapstartsrv can be seen in the task manager up and running.
Please reply ASAP.

I have exactly the same problem.
Tried to install to my Windows XP desktop PC from the DVD that ist shipped together with the ABAP Objects book from SAP Press. I am completely new to SAP and wanted to learn a little bit through the book.

it seems the program xuser need the libraries libdl.so.2 and libc.so.6 and don't find it.
Both are in package glibc-2.6.x. ,maybe your have Version < 2.6 installed?

Error while installing SAP NetWeaver 2007

Dear All,
 I got an exception while installing SAP NetWeaver 2007
on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition (service pack 1). This exception occured when installer tried to install MaxDB database. When I saw installation log file, I found following msgs. Pls suggest me appropriate solution so that I could install SAP NetWeaver 2007 on my m/c.

Hi,
the following parts of the log should give you some hints about what might be wrong:
"dropping database instance: JP1"
"found instance JP1 "
"cannot remove package "Database Kernel": first you have to remove all instances"
It seems you still have a MaxDB instance named JP1 on your system. This instance could not be dropped, because it was not possible for the uninstaller to connect to the db instance:
"dropping database instance: JP1"
"Try to establish connection to JP1"
"command failed: <DBMException -24950 ERR_USRFAIL User authorization failed>"
So, if enough parts of the software are still available and you know how to connect to the JP1 instance (using either the Database Manager GUI or DBMCLI), you can drop the instance and proceed with the installation.

If I understand you correctly, while adding email addresses to any particular email IDs you're can't see multiple email IDs. Email addresses are stored under the contact names. You can save multiple email address under one contact. Now while putting name in To/CC field you should be typing the names of the contact and when pressing/selecting names you would be prompted with multiple email addresses.
Try this -
When you device is POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery. This make a reboot to your device which minor issues with the BlackBerry device.

SAP NetWeaver 7.3 AS Java install error in Install Java Engine phase

Hi All,
I am doing my first installation of SAP NetWeaver 7.3 AS Java on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Oracle database 11.2.0.3, this is a domain installation.
I have been following the SAP Installation guide and everything has been going well but I am now stuck with an error in the Install Java Engine phase of the installation.
The error message I am receiving is:
An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.3 > SAP Systems > Application Server Java > Standard System > Standard System( Last error reported by the step: Process call 'C:\usr\sap\E1D\J00\exe\jstart.exe pf=\\sourcing\sapmnt\E1D\SYS\profile\E1D_J00_sourcing -file=C:\usr\sap\E1D\J00\exe\startup.properties -nodename=bootstrap -launch' exits with error code 1. For details see log file(s) jstart_bootstrap_J00.log.)
When I check the jstart_bootstrap_J00.log it is empty.
I have done some searching for a solution for this error and it seems it may be related to the database not running. I can confirm that I have run lsnrctl start and also, in sqlplus, run startup; both commands showed that the starting of the listener and database were successful.
Does anyone know what might be causing this error?

In C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\NW73\INSTALL\NW73\ORA\STD the file jstart_bootstrap_J00.log is empty.
In C:\usr\sap\E1D\J00\work there was no jstart_bootstrap_J00.log file, however there was a file called log_bootstrap.0.log, the contents are:

I am installing SAP Netweaver 2004s Web AS Java on Oracle Database 10g and HP-UX (PA-RISC 10.23).

Install both SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 4 and Solution Manager in C drive

Hi, SDN fellows.
I just want to confirm this.
I am trying to install SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 4 and Solution Manager in C drive. Are these OK, since they both will be installed under the C:\usr folder?
What precaution we need to install these two SAP components in the same drive (C)?
I am installing both components in MS Window Server 2008 R2 SP1 with MS SQL Server 2005 SP3.

Sorry, I missed the "IDES". I am installing SAP ECC6.0 EHP4 IDES system for training purpose within the organization.
I am referring to the Installation Guide - SAP ERP 6.0 EHP Ready ABAP on Window MS SQL Server (Based on NW 7.0 incl EHP 1). All downloaded installation files are from: EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0/NW7.01 --> IDES --> --> Widnows Server --> MS SQL Server.
The OS is installed in C drive.
I have allocated 250GB in C drive and 200GB in D drive from SAN.
For IDES system (I know it is similar to the standard ECC), is it also recommended to install in D drive (separate from the OS)?
In this case, should I install both Solution Manger and IDES in D drive?
Or what is the best combination where I should install these two systems?

Error while starting SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio

Hi,
I have installed Java SDK (v1.4.2_09) and Netwearver development
studio (2.0.13) on my laptop.When i try to lanch the development studio

Hi,
I got this solution from SAP and it worked.
This is a known problem that appers due to an implementation bug,
while trying to read the proxy information. The studio expects non-
empty value for key com.tssap.config/proxy, located in
[YourDevStudioInstallationPath]\eclipse\plugins\com.sap.java.ide\pl
ugin_customization.ini file. During the installation no value is
assigned to this key (as you mentioned - no proxy in your case). The
problem will be fixed for SP14, however there is a workaround:
1. Change the value for key com.tssap.config/proxy in
plugin_customization.ini to something like this - proxy:80.
2. After this change the DevStudio should start and you'll be able to
configure your proxy settings from Menu Window->Preferences-
>Workbench->Proxy Settings. (In your case - disable the proxy
server)
