Problem while checking for updates in Intex Cloud FX

I followed the steps to check for updates: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-check-firefox-os-updates-and-install-them?esab=a&as=aaq
But every time I do that I get an error saying "There was an error when checking for updates."
I am connected to WiFi, and I tried the solution provided here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/967817, but it did not work.
Also, the OS Version says Intex_Cloud_FX_V07

Yes, the Intex website does say that the phone has v1.3 installed. (http://www.intexmobile.in/product_detail.aspx?PID=191&PCatID=3#)
But in the settings it says that the software version installed is '''Intex_cloud_FX_V07''', and the update channel is '''release-spreadtrum'''. Does it mean the Intex uses its customized version of the OS? If so, how do I switch to the ''un-customized'' version.

  • HT1338 when I click on software update it says ''An error occurred while checking for updates.'' Why does it say that?

So I bought a Powerbook G4 from a pawn shop and yes, I did check to see if it was still good. everything works fine but I need an update because I have OS X 10.3. So I connect to the internet and then I click on ''Software Update'' and I wait. But then a message opens saying ''An error occurred while checking for updates'' And I don't know why. HELP!!!

Something temporarily wrong with your internet connection?
Be aware that this is a very large file to download, it needs a strong consistent internet connection.
Have the iPhone on the charger cable too.
In the meantime read the threads in this forum about the visibility item and some other possible issues on the 4 and 4S (although a large number of people have these issues, it is still a minor percentage, but anyhow, be aware).

  • "software update"  "An error occurred while checking for updates"

When I click on "Software Update", an error results, "An error occurred while checking for updates".  It is definitely connected to the internet.  I was gifted a G5 and I installed a new hard drive and loaded the OS, OS X 10.3.5.  That version of Safari does not display pages correctly.  E.g., support.apple.com/downloads just clocks on the righthand side of the page.
Because cannot access that link, cannot manually update the OS - I was thinking this version is "old" and as a result, unable to connect to apple's update server.  Thanks.

Thanks,  I upgraded with your info.
Ultimately, I am trying to access mail.google.com but receiving  the following error with opera v9.5.x: Some important features may not work in this version of your browser, so you have been redirected to the Basic HTML version.
Safari gives the following: Some important features may not work in this version of your browser, so you have been redirected to the Basic HTML version.
I can access ask.com and using opera to type this response.

  • Firefox insists on freezing computer while checking for updates I have said not to check

Firefox repeatedly checks for updates of disabled addons. I have DO NOT CHECK FOR UPDATES enabled, but . . . WTF FF ignores my options as if they weren't entered. I've done all I can.
I'm pretty tired of trying to open FF and being delayed while FF pleasures itself at my expense.

  • IPod acknowledged by PC but only charges while checking for updates

This may very well be a newbie question, but I have not been able to find any help online. I plug in my ipod to charge, and everything acts normal - if itunes is open, it checks for new songs and updates it, etc, while charging. The only problem is that it does not continue to charge after it checks for updates. As soon as it says it is ok to eject in itunes, the ipod reverts back to normal and after a while just shuts itself off.
I have tried plugging it in the computer while itunes is closed as well, and it does something very similar. It didn't always used to be this way - Sometimes I would need to fiddle with it, but I could get it to charge.
    Any help is appreciated =)

The USB is turning off after it updates and Ejects.
Right click on My Computer and select Properties, Hardware, Device Manager.
    Click on Universal Serial Bus.
Right Click on USB Root Hub then Properties.
In the box, select the Power Management tab.
Deselect Allow the computer to turn off power to this device to save power.
Do this for all the USB Root hubs which may show up.

Post subject: NSURLErrorDomain error -1100 in OS X 10.8
If you check for software updates using the App Store in OS X 10.8 and get "NSURLErrorDomain error -1100" the problem may be with your Software Update preferences. This is particularly likely if you were using a custom Apple Software Update server. To solve the problem, quit the App Store, move the following two files (if present) to the trash, restart, and only then rerun App Store updates:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist.lockfile

I was recently trying to upgrade to mountain lion through the app store.  I have unreliable Internet from a cable company whom I will not name, but we all know who they are.  My Internet dropped while downloading the upgrade.  Once I went through the notorious unplug the modem/router and plugged it back in to gain Internet connectivity again, I could not resume. No matter what I did, the app store kept displaying "an error occurred." I am hoping that those with the same issue read this first to save them hours of skimming through the Internet to find a solution.  Here are the steps to take:
    1. Make sure you have reestablished Internet connection
    2. Chances are you got frustrated when you tried to resume/unpause the download and clicked the "X" to the left.  If so, select the "Store" drop-down menu from the App Store and select "View My Account." There should be an option to unhide your purchase.  You know what to do.
    3. There is also an option to  reset all warnings for buying and downloading under "View My Account." Do this, click "Done," sign out of the App Store and quit the App Store.
    4. Open the Preferences in safari and select Privacy.  Select "Remove All Website Data."  Just do it.
    5. Launch the app store and sign in.
    6. Now, if you "Check for Unfinished Downloads" everything works peachy.
I hope this helps.  Not much I can do for your Internet connection though.

  • Error while checking for update

Lately, when I sync my iPad to iTunes on my mac, when I click on "Check for Updates" I get the following error message...
"iTunes could not check for an update to the carrier settings for your iPad. An unknown error occurred (1631).
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again"...
The network is fine, both on the mac and the iPad... And the phrase "...could not check for an update to the carrier settings" doesn't even seem to make sense???? It used to work but this just started recently and now the error pops up every time I try... My iPad is WiFi + 3G but I've never activated the 3G coverage...
    Any thoughts??? thanks... bob..

I hadn't seen that error either until just recently... I found this post,
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=12635600
where folks with the same problem have appeared to have found an answer...
All I did was toggled my Cellular Data switch from OFF (where it always was before) to ON for a few seconds... That is not to say I signed up for AT&T service... I just toggled the Cellular Data switch but I was still running in WiFi mode as always...
And it worked... Message gone... Other folks on that same post talk about inserting non-active SIM cards into their iPads to clear the error??? Don't know about that but the Cellular Data from default OFF, to ON and then back to OFF has, for the moment anyway, cleared the message for me...

  • App Store error while checking for updates

I noticed recently that there hasn't been any updates for OS X Mavericks so I decided to manually check for one. When I did so, I got this error while attempting to check for an update:
There's not much else to explain. The only other thing that has been getting really weird on my computer recently is my keychain. It keeps forgeting the wifi password for my house saying "Keychain 'System' could not be found to store B7F3D". It also keeps forgeting my icloud email password. Other than that, there is nothing else wrong.
    Thanks for any help!

It seems it fixed on its own. Everything is working properly now.

  • Problem to check for updates

I upgraded my iPhone 4 and my iPad 2 to iOS 5 some days ago. Now I have the following error when I try to check for software updates from iTunes 10.5 on my iMac - "iTunes could not check for an update to the carrier setting for your iPhone. An unknown error occured (1630)". Anyone out there has the same problem and knows how to fix it? Would appreciate any help. Thanks!!

Hey Apple-User community, is there really nobody out there who could help me with my problem? By the way, my friend has the same problem and would appreciate support! Thanks

  • HT4623 what is wrong when my iphone says, an error occurred while checking for updates

what is wrong with my iphone, when i try to make software updates, i get a error message

Try rebooting your iPad and then see if you have any success updating.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • When I try to check for updates, an error message appears with no details. How do I get and check the updates on my new intex cloud fx phone?

I have a new Intex Cloud Fx phone. In this, I go to 'Device in formation' and try to update the device by pressing update now, I get an error message that says 'an error occurred while checking for updates'. Also, it does not respond to the' last updated' command. When I press 'more device information' I can see’ OS version Intex_Cloud_FX_V07’. I have tried all kinds of procedures suggested on the net and elsewhere but have not succeeded in updating my phone, so far. This includes resetting the phone. I am using a Wi-fi connection. It seems that quite a few persons are facing this problem. There have been suggestions ranging from 'there is a bug' to 'there are no updates'. So, the problem persists, with no end in sight. I feel Mozilla should look at it.

    Hi!
Thanks for contacting us today! I understand you are having issues with updating, and using the device.
I believe that we are aware of the update issue however, it is ultimately the carrier/ manufacturer to provide updates. Please contact the respective company for assistance.
As for device using, and things not working. Please provide us with more details. (Note: the bug may have already been fixed, but is available in a later update).
    Thanks!

  • Check for Updates and User Account Control

With Adobe Reader the 'Check for Updates' function under Help does not appear to function when 'User Account Control (UAC)' in Windows Vista is turned on.
When UAC is turned off, the 'Check for Updates' works, and if there an update is available for Adobe Reader, it will download and install.
Other programs that update software funtion with UAC turned on, albeit with the additional dialog boxes that UAC brings, namely the CTL/ALT/DEL and user account logon (when applicable.)
Without updating the Adobe Reader software, users are leaving themeselves open to vulnerabilities.  Without UAC turned on, users are also leaving themselves open to certain risks.  So there appears to be a dilemma presented.
Does anyone know if/when Adobe will be changing the 'Check for Updates' functionality so it will behave more in-line with the UAC functionality?
Thank you in advance for your time and attention.

With UAC enabled, I start Adobe Reader, click on Help, and there is no selection for updating.  There is nothing for me to click.  Additionally, in Edit, Preferences, Updater, "Do not download or install updates automatically" is selected, and everything on the right pane is greyed-out.
With UAC disabled, I start Adobe Reader, click on Help, and there is a selection for 'Check for Updates.'  In Edit, Preferences, Updater, I can select the various methods of downloading/updating Adobe Reader.  The option to download the update but not install was selected, as I wanted it to be.
Finally, I noticed that the notice from Adobe, 'Update is ready to install,' appears in the Windows tray.  And it is this point that somewhat changes the serverity of the problem, that is, while 'Check for Updates' is not available when UAC is enabled, it appears that Adobe can still be updated through the automatic download feature.  The only problem with this is that I cannot tell if the update was downloaded while UAC was enabled (probably not since the download setting says not to) or while UAC was disabled.
In any case, it still does not appear that our clients can get their Adobe Reader software updated while UAC is enabled.  And this represents a security dilemma for us.

  • BlackBerry Z10 stuck "Checking for updates" first time setup.

I have just bought the Z10 and it keeps getting stuck while checking for updates. I have rebooted it a few times, taken the battery and sim card out and then rebooted it a few times with no success. What should I do?

Yes. You can't update or restore any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone. The sim card need not be activated, but it must be valid & present. If you want to update, you need to get a sim card.
