Problem while deploying entity beans
Hi,
We are using JDeveloper 3.2.2 (NT) and 8.1.7 (NT) to deploy EJB's.
Now we are trying to deploy the entity bean to Oracle JVM. We are facing the following problem while deploying an entity bean .
"Persistence provider declared in the deployment descriptor is not supported
*** Errors occurred while deploying the EJB to 8i JVM ***
*** Deployment completed ***"
We would appreciate if anyone could help us to solve this error.
nullHi,
The error was coming because of the table structure. All the columns were composite keys. I alter the structured by removing composite keys and added a new column as primary key. Now it is getting deployed successfully.
Can anybody comment on such a behaviour of OC4J?

Problems while developing a Perl client
Hi,
I am trying to interface to the OCWS using SOAP through Perl.
Here is the code:
#!/usr/bin/perl
use strict;
use LWP::UserAgent;
use HTTP::Request;
my $ua = LWP::UserAgent->new(env_proxy => 1, keep_alive => 1, timeout => 30, );
my $data_to_send;#-- And build a string of it
open(SOAPREQ,"soap_req.soap");
while(<SOAPREQ>) {
$data_to_send = "$data_to_send$_";
print "Sending :\n$data_to_send\n";
#-- Create the Request Object and send the data
my $response =
$ua->request(HTTP::Request->new('POST', 'http://development-10.cc.uic.edu/ocws-bin/ocas.fcgi',
HTTP::Headers->new('Content-Type' => 'text/xml', 'SOAPAction' => 'http://www.oracle.com/WebServices/Calen\
daring/1.0/'), $data_to_send));
#-- Print the response
print $response->as_string;
Note that I have my SOAP payload in the soap_req.soap file. This is a simple Ping command. Here is the listing:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<soap:Body>
<cwsl:Ping xmlns:cwsl=
"http://www.oracle.com/WebServices/Calendaring/1.0/">
</cwsl:Ping>
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>
But, this doesn't seem to work. (I realise that I have not set the Content-Length SOAP header in the Perl code. If this could be the source of the problem, would someone please tell me whether the Content-Length includes the length of the headers also or just the payload).
The listing for the response in SOAP indicates a "method name not supported error". Here is the listing for the response:

Problem while developing Front End
Hi all
I am developing GUI ( Front End ) where a user is allowed to add labels, buttons at runtime .
Also he can add images to the screen at run time. He should be able to resize the size of the image at runtime. Also he should be able to resize the size of labels.
The mouse cursor should be chanangeable to resize cursor when the user is trying to resize the labels or image..
Can anyone provide me some useful tips in this regards or links..
Sample Code would be most welcome...Go step by step:
Create the Frame and the container that will hold the added component(labels, buttons etc..)
Add a button or menu that will activate the creation of the new component.
Use a listener to lister to the button or menu.
Create a new component and add it to the container
If you done it till now you 33% done.
Add a mouse listener and use it to change the size of the components.
Cange the mouse wile draging it to resize the component, and change it back to normal when mouse was released.
YOU will find a lot of samples in the forum if you will do it like this.
Good luck

Problem while executing entity bean - Exception

I have installed weblogic6.1
I have checked for my datasouce with the external program that works properly.

JNDI Name for datasource is CabinEntityJndi
Unable to deploy EJB: cabinmethod from ejb_cabin.jar:

bleException>
Thanks
AmitMake sure that the JNDI name for the datasource and that for the EJB is different. It seems that both the datasource and the EJB are getting bound to the same name and hence the problem. You'll have to check the deployment descriptor to ensure that JNDI names for the datasource and EJB are different.

Problem while invoking a Stateless Session bean from another bean
Hi,
I have a peculiar problem while coding with Stateless Session beans. Maybe you guys can help me out over here. The scenario is as follows
There are 3 Stateless Session beans. Let Us say Bean A, B and C. There are three methods, method1, method2, and method3 inside A, B and C respectively.
From A.method1(), B.method2(), and C.method3() are being invoked sequentially. Each of these methods does some JDBC operation and then returns.
The problem is this, if C.method3() throws and exception, then I am unable to rollback the changes made by B.method2(). Those changes get "Committed" to the database.
All the 3 beans have Bean managed persistence property set. I am using WebSphere 6.1.
Any insight on why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks In Advance
Amardeep VermaHi,
This is a matter of calling all three methods in the same transaction context. Most easy way of doing this is having a 4th session bean containing a method calling the other 3. Make sure that the Transaction Attributes are REQUIRED, which is the default.
If the calls a to different backends/databases, you need global transactions and therefor XA complient database and drivers.

Problems while defining EJB relations for container managed bean
I am having a problem while trying to create my relations for my container managed bean.
My Database schema is:

I have defined my OrderBean to have:
@LocalMethod()
@CmrField
public abstract Collection getCmWorkItemsCmr();
@LocalMethod()
public abstract void setCmWorkItemsCmr(Collection workItems);
I am not sure how to define my relation for my class:
@Relation(cmrField = "cmWorkItemsCmr", multiplicity = Relation.Multiplicity.MANY, name = "Orders-CmWorkItems")
An order can have many workitems. I am not sure how to fill in the rest for foreign Key jointable and such.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be helpful.

I think you are trying to test the Hello world EJB example shipped with the product. As a first
step I would recomend you to go through every line of the document on deploying this application,
since, I too have experienced many errors while trying to deploy the sample applications, but on
following the documentation, I subsequently overcame all the errors and have been working with the
applications. So please follow the steps in documentation and let me know, if you still encounter any
issues.

A web developer problem while running a web application
Hi all,
I'm novice to J2EE.
I've encountered a problem while accessing the deployed module in weblogic 8.1 server.
I'm sure that the webapplication module is deployed as i saw my module in administration console & also the status said that it is deployed.
when i access my web application by specifying the proper server and port no and context root it is showing
either 505 - resource not found error(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh) or 404 - not found error.( http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh)
Now let me elaborate what i've done till now.
My webapplication folder structure is : C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
My servlet is ServExamp.java
I created a folder called "Suresh". In that folder created another folder called "WEB-INF". In WEB-INF created a folder called "Classes".
Since my servlet is in package "Sai", the .class file reside in \Suresh\WEB-INF\Classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
The source code is :
package Sai;
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;
import java.io.*;
public class ServExamp extends HttpServlet
public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req,HttpServletResponse res)throws IOException
PrintWriter out=res.getWriter();
java.util.Date today=new java.util.Date();
out.println("<html>"+"<body>"+
"<h1 align=center>HF\'s Chapter1 Servlet </h1>"
+"<br>"+today+"</body>"+"</html>");
Now i'm almost done creating a web application. Next, I constructed a simple web.xml descriptor that gives a web friendly name for my servlet, and points to the servlet. I constructed web.xml descriptor file in the WEB-INF folder (C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\).
The web.xml file source is :
<!DOCTYPE web-app
PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"
"http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">
<web-app>
<display-name>Hello World Web Application</display-name>
<description>Test Servlet</description>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>ServExamp</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>Sai.ServExamp</servlet-class>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>ServExamp</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/Suresh</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
</web-app>
Now I have told Weblogic that the URI /Suresh corresponds to my servlet "Sai.ServExamp".
My Web Application is ready to be deployed at this point. I logged onto Weblogic's admin console,
1) clicked on deployments, then navigated to "Web Application Modules" .
2) Clicked "Deploy new Web Application Module"
3) Navigated to the location of your web application folder (Suresh). There was a radio button next to it indicating that I can select that folder as a valid web application.
4) I Clicked that radio button and clicked "Target Module".
5) It informed that my web application "Suresh" will be deployed to myServer.It asked a name for my web application deployment. By default it was "Suresh"
I clicked Deploy.
6) After deployment, my web application "Suresh" appeared in the "Web Application Modules" tree on the left.
I Clicked on "Suresh"( my web application) then clicked the testing tab, then clicked the link shown there(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2).
It was not showing my servlet (showed a 403 error)
Error - 403
This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
I think so it came b'coz I don't have an index.html or index.jsp page.
7)Instead,I added my servlet on to the URL it provided.
http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh
It is showing these error code: Http: 505 resource not allowed
The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for cannot be displayed because the address is incorrect.
Please try the following:
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, check that it is entered correctly.
Open the localhost:7001 home page and then look for links to the information you want.
Click Search to look for information on the Internet.
when i just type : http://localhost:7001/ -> Error 404 not found error
it's showing
Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
I want to run my web application & any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
with regards,
S.SayeeNarayanan.
Note: I even deployed my war file, which i got by execution of (jar cv0f webapp.war . ) command from the root directory of my web application i.e. Suresh
Then executed my webapplication it is showing
error-505 resource not allowed.

Error while looking up bean from Eclipse plugin
Hi all,
I am developing an Eclipse plugin which calls session bean deployed in some j2ee engine. But I am facing a problem while I try to look up the bean. It gives me an error saying <i>"com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.UnsatisfiedReferenceImpl"</i>.
I tried print out the UnsatisfiedReferenceImpl stacktrace and it says

Does anyone have any idea?
