Problem while downloading ALV GRID Output to Local Spreadsheet(Excel) File.

Hi,
I am displaying output in ALV GRID. While downloading the output to Excel file using "Local File" option provided by ALV.
But while downloading the columns and their respective values are coming in single column vertially of excel file instead of horizontal.
e.g. Grid output is as follows.
F1 F2
V1 V2
(F represents Field Title, and V represent Value)
Downloaded Excel File content:-

V2

Also, if your problem still persist, please refer SAP's demo code on ALV "BCALV_FULLSCREEN_DEMO".
There are many sample codes available, what you need to do is just go to SE38 and put BCALV* and do F4.

It is downloading into excel, but all character columns first and next all quantity columns it is displaying. But I need columns order as it is in the grid.

Hi,
Open up Excel on your desktop. Goto Tools > Macro > Security.
Make sure that your security is set to Medium (or less). SAP uses OLE automation to run the Excel instance and in Office 2003 (for example), Microsoft has increased their default security setting to High. With the High setting, the output to Excel fails.
Was this your problem? Don't forget those points, either.
check with this wetther it is solved or not.

Problem in downloading ALv Grid output

Hi Friends,
I've made an ALV report using the FM: REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY. Now when I try to download the output in excel using the path:LIST->EXPORT->EXCELSHEET, the 'excelsheet' option is showing as disabled. This is happening only for this report, while I'm successfully ablw to do this for other ALV grid reports. I'm on ECC6.0 & trying to download the output in XXL format.Kindly help me as what exactly needs to looked into.

hi,
Think that you does n't have authorization for that (auth group "J_1IDNLD").
You can try to do with another user which is ahving authorisation.
Get authorization for above grp. Hope it will helps you. Thanks!

On list where alv is displayed, select export icon( green color -> ),select spread sheet.
This will display records in Excel sheet.

i have two problems in displaying ALV grid output Using Oops.
1) How to modify the fieldcatalog after we getting a field catalog using general FM.
2) initialy it is displaying 13 fields but there are 63 fields .
eventhough we chage the layout to 63 fields it is displaying only 13 fields , these 13 fields may be different based on our selection but count of displayed fileds are same . how can display 63 fields at a time .

You can chnage using below code:
loop at gt_fieldcat.
if <gt_fieldcat-field_name> = 'FIELDNAME'.
endif.
modify gt_fieldcat.
clear gt_fieldcat.
endloop.
Make sure that all the field should not have no_out = 'X' and tech = 'X'.

Error while downloading ALV grid o/p list into local file

Hello friends,
   I have developed an ALV report and desplaying it using
'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, function module .While downloading the output list into excel format I am geeting an error "The current statement only supports character-type data objects.
Error Analysis-
In statement
   "STRLEN( obj )..."
the argument "obj" can only take a character-type data object.
In this case, the operand "obj" has the non-character type "P".
I have set the import parameter i_save values as 'A'
But still not able to download and facing the same error.
Please help me out ....

Printing Selection-Screen while printing ALV Grid output display

Hi,
I have a requirement wherein I want to print the Selection Screen also while printing the output in simple ALV grid Display.
Currently when I print the ALV output report, only the header and the Body of the ALV is getting printed. But the requirement is that I also want to print Selection screen along with this.
If anyone has faced a similar situation, plz let me know what needs to be done in order to print the selection screen also while printing the ALV report output.

Need to download the report output list to a Excel file.

I have a report output list, which i need to download to an Excel file, could any body suggest how to do this with out writing the ws_download.
My report data is coming from two internal tables, one internal table for left side reprt display and another internal table for right side report display, both the internal tables having the same fields.
suggest me how to combine these two internal table data in one internal table.
2 internal table structure is same but data is different.

LIST>SAVE/SEND>FILE,
then a pop-up window with different formates will appear,then choose u r required format.

Alv grid output to local file errror

Hi Friends,
I am using reuse_alv_grid_display to display alv report..
I am having 176 fields to display.. When i click
export-->local file.. dump error occurs..
It saying field symbol has not yet been assigned..
The termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLKKBL" in "GEN_FIELD_OUT2"
But When download it with few fields it's not showing error..
Is there any setting to clear this dump error help me sort out this problem..

Pronlem while downloading ALV grid to excel

My ALV report is working fine, but problem is that when i am downloading it to excel some data is missing from some coloum
like MATNR is 0000234567 in display but after downloading to excel it comes only 23456
last digit is missing in all the rows of matnr after downloading.

- First perform [the Consistency Check|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32/helpdata/EN/d6/23253963143e6ae10000000a11402f/frameset.htm] of your ALV, even if the display is fine (use shift+double click right on a free surface of the ALV)

                       I am facing a problem while downloading alv output in spreadsheet. Report headers and data headings are coming in excle but contents are missing instead of that No Data is displaying on excel sheet. Here I have given my code, which contain the building of field catalog and Calling ALV Grid. I have already checked the excel micros settings. Other programs are working fine on my system and downloading in excel is also working.

Facing a Problem while downloading the data from ALV Grid to Excel Sheet

Iam facing a problem while downloading the data from ALV Grid to excel sheet. This is working fine in Development server , when comes to Quality and Production servers I have this trouble.
   I have nearly 11 fields in ALV Grid and out of which one is PO number of length 10 , all the ten numbers are visible in the excel sheet if we download it from development server but when we download it from Quality or Production it is showing only 9 numbers.
Can any one help me out in this case.

if this problems happens dont display the same internal as u finally got.
just create new internal table without calling any standard data elements and domains... but the new internal table s similar like ur final internal table and move all the values to new int table.
for eg.
ur final internal int table for disp,
     data : begin of itab occur 0,
                    matnr like mara-matnr,
               end of itab.
create new like this,
           data : begin of itab occur 0,
                    matnr(12) type N,
               end of itab.

Excel File Format Problem while downloading in ALV Grid

Hi All,
My program gives an ALV Grid Output which contains the file download button , when I choose spread sheet as the file format , the actual data starts only from 4th line and the lines above it contain date, heading etc and the rest are blank. Is it possible that I can download only the records in the grid output with the column names and not the unnecessary log?
Also the format is not proper excel format, this same file will be used for upload into another program using the Function Module 'TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP'. When I load the file saved in the above format, this Function Module always fails.
Please let me know any solution for this problem

Problem while downloading report output

Hi friends,
I want to download the report output to local disk in excel file format. The report is developed using ALV grid display (using type poolSLIS). When I run the report all the values are displaying correctly.
When I download the same in excel file using spreadsheet/unconverted option, some fields are getting cut. For example Vendor code in report showing as 4060070, but in downloaded file it is showing as 406007 (last character missing.).
I tried GUI_DOWNLOAD function module(for practice), and it is downloading correct values in excel format.
The problem occurs for only one column. What will be the problem.
Is this something system problem or we what else.

Did you set the outlen property for your ALV Grid display?
Please check this.
Also, check whether you are exceeding the size for uploading a row in Excel or not.

Hi,
You can download the report by going to menu option
List->export->local file.. in this select spreadsheet and give the name for this to download.
You can view all the columns here in xls sheet.
