Problem while reading using UTL

Question

Hi,
iam reading a file delimited by '| 'using UTL_FILE package.the file has one field with a special charcter. i.e the field is copied from some file , so the space in it has transferred as special charcater like[]. .Now UTL reads it as two lines one till the character.and other from the charcter.Kindly suggest some solution to rectify this problem.

Sorry I meant get_raw or get_line. Anyway, do you have control of the file format i.e. could you add a specific end of line/record marker such as '{EOL}'. If you can, you could keep reading lines until your text contains this marker, and then bolt all of the read lines together and then process them, along the lines of....

    LOOP--loop to read up to the EOL marker
         utl_file.get_line(li_file, lv_LineFromFile...)
