Problem while saving files

Hello everyone,
I have problem while wanting to save my projects. Nothing appears when I click on "Save" or "Save as". Ctrl+S doesn't work either. The only option that remains to me is closing my project, then it asks me if I want to save or not, then I save. But once it closed without asking me, I lost my work It's kind of annoying.
I'm using Photoshop CS5
Could anyone help me?

You likely don't have a display with a minimum of 768 pixels vertically.
Hard to believe, but Photoshop's Save dialog will fail if you don't have a display that large.

I have difficulty pasting text into the file name field (prefix only) while saving files. example: File name is Pic123.jpg and I want to rename it ABC123.jpg and I have ABC loaded into the WinXPsp3 clipboard. When I highlight\right-click\delete "Pic" then attempt to paste the ABC, I get either no reaction, or upon multiple paste attempts, the ABC is appended to the end of the file, after the extension, as "Pic123.jpgABC". If I delete this unwanted suffix, or repeat the process several times, eventually I can delete the unwanted portion of the prefix and paste the desired text. Sometimes it works fine first try, but mostly it takes several tries. I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 but the problem existed in whatever previous version I had too. This issue only occurs when using the delete/paste; I can always manually change the name by typing. Thank you for your help.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

A possible cause is that the server sends a wrong response header.

Problem while saving date field in custom table

Hi,
Iam facing the following problem while saving a date field in custome table
i have a date field zdate in which the value is 02082010.
now when i try to insert this value in the custom table it is getting updated as 20/10/0208 , but it should be 08/02/2010
How can i correct it..

just before saving u might have to use a string reverse FM and then save it..

Problem while saving an object under a dev class

Here is a problem while saving an object under a development class.... I created a Z program (ZSORDER) through SE38 and while i was saving that Z program under a development class called SALES it shows an error message like <b>" customer object program ZSORDER can't be assigned to the package SALES"</b>..... can any one can explain what is the problem....

you should have created your package starting with the letters "Y" or "Z".
you have created it with the letter "s". SALES.
's' is reserved to be used by SAP.
so create the package with the letters 'y' or 'z' like 'ysales' and you wont be getting that problem.

Problem While saving the Invoice

Dear Experts,
                  I am facing the Problem while Saving the Invoice, In invoice, We assigne the Output as RD00 and Medium as 6 (EDI).
When we are saving the Invoice, it getting as ' Updated Terminated'. When i found where the Error is coming in SM13, it showing in as Function Module "RV_MESSAGE_UPDATE' & Error Details is 'EAN11 not found for Material'.
                 But in Invoice whatever we enter the Material number, we maintain the EAN11 code. This EAN11 code is seen in MARM & VBRP Table. Unable to find the what the exact error is.
               please help me to sort this issue, Its business complicated.

          Thanks for your valuable Message.... I run as you suggested, but the dispatch time i kept as 1 or 2. because the program RSNAST00 is picking the values only for 1 or 2. so i run manually,, as of now the issue is, in the invoice number, for one material number, the Billed quantity is zero, so the UOM is getting as initial. From those vaues we are picking the EAN11 from maram table.
So, i modify that and run the EDI manually. As of now its working...

CAD Integration - Error While Saving file

Hi,
Im having One Document type "DRW" which was working fine with all the functionalities.
After that i created another document type "PDW". Now all the functionalities are working fine for this Document type and not for "DRW".
Im getting an error while saving the drawing file in AutoCAD.
For DRW Type, I can able to create a DIR. After creating DIR if i click save button im getting this error.

Japanese character problem while downloading file to application server

Hello All,
We are facing a strange problem while downloading a file to application server when file contains japanese text.
We are downloading vendor and customer information in a flat file format on application server. When the login language is EN program show ouput in a properly formatted manner.
When the login language is JA (japanese) program does download file with customer vendor data. I can see the description is japanese language but the formatting is gone for a toss.
We are facing similar issue with other programs downloading files on the application server.
I am using OPEN DATASET........ENCODING DEFAULT. and working on unicode enabaled ECC 6.0 system

Sometimes this also happens because of your desktop setting.Make sure that your OS also supports the JAPANESSE language.
Ask your technical support team to enable them in your desktop.

How to retain file name while saving file on archive servers

Hi Experts,
I am using function modules:
ARCHIVOBJECT_CREATE_TABLE and ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT for inserting a file to archive server and for linking it with a document.
Then I am reading the URL using FM: SCMS_AO_URL_READ. When I get this URL and download that file, the file name will be always defaulted to 'pclHTTP.dll'. I debugged these FMs to a certain extent and found that this name comes from CREP_HTTP-HTTP_SCRPT table.
Is there any way I can retain the file name while saving it so that when I read the URL it has correct file name in it?

Hi Max,
In case when downloading one file it is fine. But if I want to download 10 files at once and later if I go to my downloads, every file will be having similar name. Unless we open the file, we cannot know what file it is.

Having problems getting saved files in PS CS3 to show up in folders in Vista - help?

My sincerest apologies if this has floated across oyur screens before, but I don't seem to be pluggin in the correct set of keywrds to bring it up in the search if it has.
Here's my dilemma. I just bought a new computer which came preloaded with Vista, and uploaded my old copy of CS3 onto it. The program seems to be working fine, except that when I open a file in Photoshop and edit it, then save it in a new file (as I do for most of my photoshoots, etc), or even when I save it in the orignial folder, the new "saved" file will not show up in the Vista folder. If I go back to Photoshop and open the folder via File>Open, I can access all of my pictures, but to I cannot access them to upload to the internet, email, use in other programs, etc.
If I go into "Recently Changed Documents" I can find them, but they seem to be in a temp folder in the Adobe folders. But again, if I go back to Adobe, it says they are in the folder I put them in.
Any ideas what's going on here?

They are hidden for whatever reason, either you have a permission problem or they are registered incorrectly with Explorer. Open the folder, then check Extras --> Folder Options. Disable the Hide System Files option and then the more generic Hidden Files section a little lower. If that reveals the files, it's time to check the File Types tab in the same panel and see, why it actually thinks your documents are system files. the simplest solution would be to remove the PSD association and then create it new, when you open a file wit6h a double-click. Of course al lthe above assumes that not some security tool or another application is "stealing" your file type associations. If you have such tools, checking their config may already solve the problems.

Increasing Write Speeds while saving files?...

While i love Photoshop, its performance can be a huge concern. Lately, i upgraded my workstation from a 4 year old desktop and went all out...
Here are the specs of the new system.
2 x X5670 (12 Nehalem 2.93Ghz cores)
48GB of ECC RAM
3 x 50GB (raid 0 on LSI 5150 sata 3 raid card) Sandforce SSD drives that give me sequential read/write speeds of approx 800MBps.
My issue is that i hate the way photoshop writes data while saving PSD files. I cant seem to see photoshop write to disk at speeds greater than 12-15 MBps. This has become the slowest link in the entire photoshop work flow and is slowing me down considerably.
The other option i was trying to investigate is to edit loads of files and then do an equivalent of a bulk save but i cant find a trick to do that.

I gave the save as tiff a go but DID see a dramatic increase!!
C Drive:
T Drive: 40GB Fusion i/o PCI card. Photoshop uses this as the scratch disk (under preferences --> general --> performance).
P.S: my systems temp variables (user and env) etc are all redirected to this drive.
I have a D Drive (Raid 5 across 6 x 2TB drives that i use purely for storage)
Here is what all i am doing...
Open a raw nef file,
Use define to reduce noise (automatic profile)
Use Viveza to adjust brightness/contrast/structure/warmth
save the file
These are some timings...
Loading photoshop --> 4.5 sec
Opening a D7000 16MPix raw image --> 8.5 sec (file opens in camera raw and then i click open to open in photoshop)
Times to save processed files...
PSD: 28.5 seconds!!!!
Tiff: 2.5 seconds!!! yes 2.5 seconds (you barely see it save!!)
You are the man...
i would assume that i have the CPU and RAM horsepower to have photoshop do a good job at the compression while saving but the diffrence is huge!!!
now please tell me what do i lose (if anything) in moving to the Tiff format (preserving all layers)

Unwanted File Download box in JSF - Problem while Saving State.

I am having a situation wherin there are multiple command links dynamically generated in a dataTable.When I click on any one of the links a file download dialogue pops up to save/open a pdf doc.Irrespective of any operations on the download dialogue, if I click on anyother link (i.e this is the 2nd click on tat page)
then the file download doesnt pop up and instead the page is refreshed.
On the 3rd click , the file download again pops up.
The code in the action method of the command link goes like this

Seems its something to do with saving of the client state.
It will be of great help anyone can advise on this.

Problem while saving list output as local file.

Hi Gurus!
i want to save the list output of classical report into excel but complete data is not coming into excel file.
[SYSTEM - > LIST ->SAVE -> LOCAL ->SPREADSHEET ]
when same output is transfer to unconverted file [notepad ] then completed data is coming.
please help me ,

Yes Rahul, I know that and you have to do the formating. This is how you can do.
Open the unconverted file in Excel format.
Select the first column and then goto Data - Text to Columns , a pop up will come.
Select Delimited, then press next.
Then selct the delimeter that is used in the unconverted file to seperate two columns. Say for example if ' | ' is used then in others write ' | ' and press next.
IN the data preview section select all the columns and then select text radio button on top and press finish finally.
Now u will get the proper format of the file. Delete all the empty rows and columns that u don't want.

Problems while uploading files using the FileReference API

I've built an image uploader module in Flex using the FileReference API and PHP.
While this works perfect for images upto 1 MB, What I'm noticing is that for images greater that 1 MB even after the Event.COMPLETE has triggered, the file hasn't yet been uploaded into the folder.. its only after a couple of seconds or minutes after the Event.COMPLETE, that the image actually shows up in the FTP folder. Morever I also noticed that for such files the DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA that we are using to get feedback from PHP never gets called.
I thought it would be related to the PHP script getting timed out... but the PHP script does get executed and the images do show up in the folder but thats way after the Event.Complete has been triggered and more importantly DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA doesnt get called.
Everything seems to work fine as long as the file size is under 1 MB
Did others too face similar problems and any ideas on how to fix it?

I don't believe there is, as the browse button renders out as an html input type file component, and this has no ability to get native file size from the client. The only way to do it is to check the file size server side, but that kind of defeats the purpose to some extent, as the file is required to be uploaded before the file size can be checked.
There is no way to do this on the client short of using a third party client side component - ie. java, flash or some other active component that gets file system level access.
