Problem whit ora-12637!
Hi, I have a problem whit this error code when I execute my form from Forms Builder. Im using Forms 6i. First, i open my form, then i connect to compile, and execute my form, but when the system open the forms runtime i get this error code.
In SQL Developer i connect whitout any problem, and whit forms 6i too, Why not whit Forms Runtime???
Regards!!
Unfortunitely, that doesn't help.
To anyone reading this thread, "6i", "10g", "11i", "12i"" are all product marketing references. They do not represent a product version. Knowing the exact product version is very important when trying to troubleshoot a problem. In this case for example, telling us that you are using a 10g db could potentially mean that you are using one many different releases (i.e. 10.1.x, 10.2.x). And of course, this does not take in to account any patches which may have been applied.
All I can offer is this, Forms 6.0.8.x is not certified or supported for use with 10.2.x databases. However, with Forms 6.0.8.25 or newer you can use 10.1.x databases.
I would recommend that you start with this information. If this doesn't help, please consider responding to the remaining questions in my previous posting.

Brconnect Error ORA-12637: Packet receive failed
Hello,
We have a problem with Brconnect (42).
When I start the brconnect program in DB13 transaction I get a following error message.
The error come when I start the brconnect program under user sapservice(SID).
When I start the brconnect program under (SID)ADM user the brconnect start error free.
After server restart the brconnect program run good approximetly 1 hours under sapservice(SID) user too.
We have used SAP ECC 6.0 with Oracle 10g with Windows 2003 x64 R2 SP2 environment.
BR0301E SQL error -12637 at location BrInitOraCreate-2, SQL statement:
'CONNECT system/************* AT PROF_CONN IN SYSOPER MODE'
ORA-12637: Packet receive failed
BR0303E Determination of Oracle version failed
Have you get any idea what was the problem ?
Thank you a lot.
Imre BolykiHi,
To execute the BRTools you need to have enough permissions and the environment variables set for that particular user. by default the SAPINST sets those variables and grants the required permission to the <SID>ADM user for executing the BRTools. Other users may not have enough permission to execute this and in turn these users will not have enough access to work on the database.

Oracle Error :: ORA-12637 Packet receive failed
Hi buddies,
One of my staff's PC is receiving this error sometimes when she is trying to connect to the database and she is able to connect sometimes.
Oracle Error :: ORA-12637 Packet receive failed What could be the cause.
I tried replacing her tnsadmin with my tnsadmin and it didn't make a change, still able to connnect sometimes and sometimes not.
Able to connect using PL/SQL developer, but not using our customized application. (Everyone else are able to connect)
Is it network problem?
Please advice.
Thank You very much.

Edited by: user645399 on Sep 16, 2009 8:37 PMAnd from this cut-and-paste the OP is supposed to take what actions to solve the problem? Please don't just post that which is one google away every time someone posts an ORA- exception. You make some valuable contributions here but just posting expanded text doesn't give someone a list of actions to take that will help them resolve the issue. Better the question is left unanswered so others will be more likely to offer help.
To the OP:
It is highly likely you have a network issue and the fact that it is isolated to a single machine makes it reasonably easy to fix. First try to figure out which component is failing. Go to the router or switch and swap wires between that client machine and another one that is working properly. Does the problem move? If not then swap the wires. Again does the problem move? Next the NIC card? What if you put another machine on the desk and put the original hard disk in it?
Sometimes it just isn't worth the effort so you just swap out the machine.
Intermittent problems are always hard to identify and fix. What is on your side is that this is only affecting a single user. -
ORA-12637: Packet receive failed
Hi All
I really need your help.
I've installed Oracle Database 10g Release 2. Database works properly.
Developer 6i, Developer 10g, SQL Developer, etc. are working with this database without problems.
But Forms 5 can't work. It connect to Database 10g about 3 minutes. After that I can build datablocks.
When I run the form, I see the following message:
ORA-12637: Packet receive failed
What should I do for resolve this problem?
Thanks.Are you sure Developer 5 can't work with Database 10g?Which Oracle version is Developer 5 ? You can see it by entering Sql*Plus from Developer 5 Home.
According to Metalink Note:207303.1 - Client / Server / Interoperability Support Between Different Oracle Versions not even 8.0.6, the Forms 6i version, is certified with 10g, but there are patches, as I said before.
I'm not aware of patches for Forms 5 to run with 10g. -
Ora 12637 Packet received failed
Hi,
I have created oracle an oracle database. but when i try to connect to database either through sql/plus worksheet or enterprise manager i get the error: ora-12637 packet received failed. Another database is running properly. I could not fix the problem. I have searched threads for this error and found that I should comment
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
this line in sqlnet.ora
Although i have not tried this as my customer is running a live database. And i don't want to make experiments.
If some one knows what is the technical reason and what is the proper way to solve this. I'll be very thankfull
But please don't recommend me 3-step story provided by oracle in documentation.

Hi All,
I have oracle 11gR2 installed on OVM. From last few days I am getting below error ORA-600 in my alert.log file
Errors in file /u02/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/......./SID_ora_30314.trc (incident=169998):

from the above referenced trc file : I got below message:

Is anybody having any idea about this error's first argument [qcsprfro_tree:jrs present] ? I am not getting any reference document from oracle support also.
Thanks...Hello,
I have oracle 11gR2 installed on OVMAs previously posted, you must open a SR to My Oracle Support.
In *11.2* you have the possibility with ADR (Automatic Diagnostic Repository) to create a Incident Package that you could send to the Support. It can help in the resolution process.
Please, find enclosed a link to this new features in 11g:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17120/diag002.htm#CHDJDBCH
Hope this help.

Anybody, please give me a hand.
Thank alotI put code (in the on-error trigger) here. please have look, thanks again.

Problem with ORA-25240 and msgId:=NULL
Hi,
I have a problem with ORA-25240- the documentation says that you cannot specify a message ID and correlation ID int the dequeue- options. However I am getting it setting msgid explicitely to NULL!
The code snippet is:
vr_message jms_message_with_header_type;
vr_dequeue_options DBMS_AQ.dequeue_options_t;
v_message_handle RAW(16);
BEGIN
vr_dequeue_options.deq_condition := 'tab.user_data.header.properties IS NOT NULL AND '
|| 'tab.user_data.get_string_property('MYServicename'') = '''
|| i_MY_Servicename || '''';
vr_dequeue_options.correlation := i_correlation;
vr_dequeue_options.navigation := DBMS_AQ.FIRST_MESSAGE;
-- should be default anyway:
vr_dequeue_options.msgid:=NULL;
vr_dequeue_options.wait := DBMS_AQ.NO_WAIT;
DBMS_AQ.DEQUEUE
queue_name => 'MYQUEUE',
dequeue_options => vr_dequeue_options,
message_properties => vr_message.header,
payload => vr_message.message,
msgid => v_message_handle
Any ideas?
Thank you,
SteffenHi,

The example behind the link is not complex enough. They are not using deq_condition and correlationId of the deque- options. If I set one of these values to NULL the code works fine but it complains about msgId if I have both values set with msgId=NULL?!?
Thanks,

Oracle8i Personal Edition hangs with ora-12637
I have tried to install Oracle8i for Windows 98 using the installation wizard. However, the database cannot be created because the configuration assistant cannot complete the job. When run as a batch file, each call to server manager receives a ora-12637 error. i have heard that you have to have Oracle8 installed, which I don't. Is this true? Where can I find it if I need it? It isn't in OTN that I can find anymore.
TIA!Exactly which Windows OS are you using? WinME does not work.

Problem whit audiobooks.
Problem whit audiobooks. when im putting in audiobooks in Itunes the hole contents dosent apper in Itunes just a few files. say that is arund 24 files just 10 appers in Itunes whats wrong?
I, too had this problem and spent a lot of time with AppleCare. After having me take my phone back to factory presets and finding no improvement to my audio files, the solution turned out to be quite simple: customer service re-loaded my iTunes audiobook purchases so the files were up to date. Just wish they'd come up with this solution before I had to completely reconfigure my phone.......

Problem whit Update Operation, Error UPDATE_ROW_CONFLICT with Oracle DB
Hello friends!, I have a problem whit UPDATE Operation with a Oracle DataBase, but it is rare because it works in "Java Sun Application Server" and not in Tomcat (5.5.12) , displaying the following error:
"Error :Number of conflicts while synchronizing: 1 SyncResolver.UPDATE_ROW_CONFLICT row 5 values changed in database"
part of the file log:

The code used in the page (EditPerson.jsp) is:

RowKey personRowKey = ido_personsDataProvider.findFirst("PERSON_ID", pid);
ido_personsDataProvider.setCursorRow(personRowKey);
public String saveButton_action() {
try {
ido_personsDataProvider.setValue("USER_ID", userDD.getSelected());
ido_personsDataProvider.setValue("STATUS", statusDD.getSelected());
ido_personsDataProvider.setValue("NAME", name.getValue());
ido_personsDataProvider.setValue("FUNCTION", function.getValue());
ido_personsDataProvider.setValue("ADDRESS", address.getValue());
ido_personsDataProvider.setValue("EMAIL", email.getValue());

ido_personsDataProvider.commitChanges();
catch (Exception ex) {
log("Error Description", ex);
error("Error :"+ex.getMessage());
return null;
Please, Some idea of why gives the error? Help!
Thanks in advance!

P.D. Excuse my English.Hi All!
New Info:
System.out.println(" date created : "+ido_personsDataProvider.getValue("DATE_CREATED"));
System.out.println(ido_personsDataProvider.getCachedRowSet().getMetaData().getColumnClassName(13));When these lines are printed in Java Sun Application Server for JSC show this:

java.sql.Timestamp|#]
When these lines are printed in Tomcat show this:
date created : 2006-04-24
java.sql.Timestamp
Why? the values of this date is different in one or another server. Problem of driver JDBC? I use driver: to ojdbc14.jar, in Tomcat for the connection to the BD Oracle. Maybe this originates error UPDATE_ROW_CONFLICT...
Please, any idea?

---------------- End of Call Stack Trace -----------------Since this is XE and a known bug, my expectations aren't too high. Should I just reboot every week?
There is a dblink that comes in every half hour and deletes and adds around 4K rows in a table. Everything else is just a bored database playing with itself.
I see from MOS ORA-00445 Is Reported While Waiting Too Long To Spawn A Process [ID 1382349.1] an event to set. Should I? Or should I make some dummy process to give the db something to do? (The thinking on the latter is that with so little for the db to do, Windows is making startup of normal things take longer).
Bug 9871302 by the way, buried in there is a mention of background processes failing to start.
