I have a problem when copy new music in my N95 playlist. The playlist not refresh after copy new music in phone. I observ this after put the latest Nokia PC Suite and firmware 30. Can help somebody? Thank you.

Why All Podcasts Files Are Included In The Music Playlist????

I am desperate for an answer!!! I have searched online for hours and could not find a solution to this! I have the 5th Generation iPod and everything was fine in the beginning. I recently discovered all my podcast files are listed in the music playlist and this is very annoying because the podcasts are included in the library of songs! When I want to listen to songs, I just wanna listen to songs ... NOT PODCASTS! Why can't the iPod differentiate a podcast file with a music file? They lump them altogether in the music playlist!!!! Under the Podcast category, I found podcasts there also! Which means, the podcasts files are duplicates!!!
In a summary, this is what's happening:
1.) Podcast files are grouped in Podcasts playlist in iTunes. Music library does not show them - this is ok, everything's normal here
2.) Podcast files are listed in Podcast playlist in iPod - this is ok, as it should be
3.) Podcast files are listed in Music playlist in iPod - WHY????
I would appreciate some answers to this bizarre problem!!!

well.....to get the podcasts out of the artists menu (if you don't mind them in the compilations menu) you have to go to the podcast's info and press "yes" for compilations. I hope that helps some of you because that isn't really my problem. Because i have a lot of podcasts there is a long list of them in the songs menu and that makes me angry. I wonder if Apple can make an update so that you can choose to have your podcasts in the Artists and Songs menus. If any Apple worker sees this, please do.
I also have been looking in the internet for answers to this and i have found that the only reason that this is useful if you want to hear a series of podcasts without having to choose a single one every single time.
I don't know if i read this here, but whoever said that iPods aren't perfect because of this flaw, then they are wrongs. How come they are rightly grouped in iTunes?
I forgot to mention this. The solution posted doesn't work because:
1. I erase all the podcast from iTunes and only keep them in my iPod.
2. I had to erase all my songs from iTunes because i had to format my computer. Yes, it was stupid because i could have backed them up, but i forgot.
3. When you sync something, you erase everything you have right now. It would take too long to download all the podcast and too much money to buy all the songs.

Problem in refreshing the data of the UI element Table

Hi Experts,
I am having a problem.
I have a screen which displays list of variants in table ( variant name , variant desc )
I am binding the entries of table in WDDOINIT method.
but when i go back to selection screen view and come back to display variants view, WDDOINIT is not triggering.
Now if i move the code written in WDDOINIT method to WDDOMODIFYVIEW method, its not retaining the lead selection as the binding happens on every server round trip. if i check with First_time = 'X'. its same as that of having it in WDDOINIT method.
How do i overcome this problem of refreshing the table data.
any clue is highly appreciated.

create a custom controller for this and when u want to move from selection screen view to display variant ,
call method of this custom controller

How do I refresh the music in my itunes library? After several days of ripping cd's, merging numerous libraries, and deleting a ton of duplicates, I basically need itunes to start fresh. Suggestions?

Well you could just delete everything from iTunes, without deleting the files, and then import the media folder. Or you could delete the iTunes Library.itl file and let iTunes scan your media when it starts up. Or you could use iTunes Folder Watch with its option to Check for dead tracks on startup selected.
In general it is easier to use iTunes to manage the media folder rather than manipulating things by hand and then getting iTunes to play catch up. I have a script called DeDuper for automatic deduping, see this thread for background

Possible to have video playlists NOT show up in the music playlists tab?

I like how when I go to videos > video playlists, my iPod will show only the playlists that contain only movies and music videos inside.
Is it possible to have it so that the video-only playlists are parsed from the music > playlists tab? That section is cluttered enough as it is, and having empty playlists inside really doesn't help.
Also, anyone have tips for managing large amounts of songs? Since I have a lot of one-hit-wonders, the artist and album tabs has gotten populated with 1-song artists and 1-song albums, making it a pain for browsing through in search of whole albums.
Maybe I could put a symbol around the artist or album to make it higher or lower in the alphabet. From what I've seen, it goes symbols, numbers, then letters. Is there anything I can use to sort alphabetically in iTunes to be below the letter z?

I just remembered something; japanese characters (letters) are sorted by iTunes below the letter z. Accented characters (such as ö) get sorted next to their regular (o is higher than ö).
And so, I think I will go through and find all the albums and artists that only have one song to them and rename them using a japanese character so that they appear at the bottom of the album and artist lists. Should make looking through those much easier.

[Solved] Problem in refreshing the iterators

I am facing problem in refreshing the iterators on the page / retaining the values in the view when refreshing the region (a task flow dropped as region).
I have two ShowDetailItems in tabbed regions as Tab1 and Tab2. Tab1 has a task flow, having page with Transient VOs, as region and same
is the case with Tab2. As per my requirement I have to navigate between Tabs and have to refresh the regions in the Tabs through bean as below.
this.homeRegion.refresh(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
But in doing so i.e. navigating from Tab1 to Tab2 and coming back to Tab1, I lose the data in the Tab1.
The problem is my bean associated with the page of the task flow in Tab1 does not get called when I refresh the
region. And also the iterators lose their values when I come back to TAb1.
I thought if I could reload the page or execute the iterators somehow when I refresh the region in the Tab, I would be able
to fix the issue.
Please help. I have been trying to figure it out for quite some time.

Hi All -
I somehow overcame the issue. In my Tab2 region task flow I had set Transaction property as "Always Begin New Transaction" because of which when I go to the Tab2 the Tab1 was losing its values in the transient VO.
For now, I reset the Transaction property of Tab2 to its default value and could navigate between different tabs with refreshing them everytime on disclosure event and still able to retain values in the transient VO.

Cannot check or uncheck any of the music playlists on the new ipod from a backup.

I bought a new ipod, and used the backup from an old ipod to replace all data and settings. Everything else seems ok, but on the new ipod I cannot check or uncheck any of the music playlists. How do I change this?

This is how it should work.
The iphone is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the one computer to which it is synced. If you sync to another computer, it will erase the current content and replace with the content from the new one.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy of your old computer to put everything on the new one.

Nokia musicplayer not refreshing the music library

I cant refresh music library in my 5233,refreshing just dont stop in music player and so no new tracks are added to it however all previous songs of music player are available in music player,new aaded tracks play well in file manager but they dont appear in music player as refreshing music player dont stop But when I refresh music player by removing MMC then it quickly refresh music library I don't want to do hard reset on my phone however I have done soft reset Please help me..

Welcome to the Nokia discussions board!
Sorry to hear you have been having problems with the music player, but since you have done a soft reset, you should back up your device using Nokia suite and then hard reset the device. This ensures you can sync the back up file back to your freshly reset device without losing any important information.
This also syncs your music files, but usually they should be in your MMC card.

Why does iTunes not refresh the Music Library if files are updated?

What if have already a nice library SYSTEM built for my music, and every time I add 30-50 files to 30-50 different locations, iTunes requires me to add the same song again... What if I am doing this updating for 3 hours and I can't remember anymore which songs I added to my Brazilian compilation folder? Why can't iTunes update the library with added files? I see this question popping up on a lot of forums. This is very cumbersome. I keep my international music collection organized by country of origin. If I let iTunes consolidate my music, it will put everything into one big folder organized by name of artist. I definitely don't want to let the program do that. I would lose all my work and all my system.
Once I imported the folder system into iTunes though as a reference, it does not recognize if there was a change, music added, music deleted, music reogranized. It doesn't make sense to delete everything from the iTunes Music Library every time I update my music collection.
Where is the solution? I want iTunes to find the changes and apply it to my Music Library automatically.
I can live with my iPod only having the files in one big library, since I mostly use it for shuffle play anyway, but I want to keep my originals in an orderly manner based on style, country of origin, etc. I don't want to end up having all my files renamed and moved.
So I need iTunes to refresh my Music Library by looking at the original folder I imported the list from, and make the necessary changes.

I guess then this is a serious shortcoming of iTunes... Up till this point I owned an RCA Lyra MP3 player and it had no problems whatsoever doing these things. I guess, after seeing how iTunes and iPod works, I'd rather return to Lyra if it had an 80 G version. The only thing that still keeps me with iPod is the capacity.
It seems like that iTunes is a very cumbersome program and it tries to be so much user friendly that it even tries to eliminate the human element. Sometimes, it makes sense to keep files organized in specific manner. Especially when there is work involved and productivity.
I guess I will just delete everything from the play list and read in the main folder every once in a while, leaving the machine working on it during the night or something, then another night, it will refresh my iPod. That's the only solution I see right now.
It is interesting that a huge program like iTunes cannot do what a small one like Lyra can. And I even read in user groups that some people created programs for this problem, but those programs don't work with iTunes 7 well yet, so I am stuck with the manual updating or the brutal deletion and re-reading.
Thank you for the answer. At least I know what not to expect from the program. I just use it for only one purpose: load music onto iPod, then forget about it. It quite an unuseful program for me otherwise.

How can you refresh the Music Album view in the Touchsmart 3.0 software?

I have a load of albums stored on a network drive and was told to do the following to include a network share in the Touchsmart Music Library:-
mklink /d rmusic "\\server\music" Where \\server\music is the network share
All worked fine and my albums were shown in the Touchsmart Music Library
The problem I'm finding is, if a track in the album has some info missing, for example the Album Artist, the Touchsmart Music Library thinks its a seperate album and shows it as a seperate album in the album view.
I've gone in to the offending track on the album on my network share and have amended the info on it, using an mp3 tag editor. The problem I have is that I'm unable to refresh the Touchsmart Music Library to show the updates, as they are still showing as seperate albums, even though they are th same. Help!! (I hope this makes sence)

you might want to try twonky media server running on your \\server, i think you have various album options you can play with so that hopefully your touchsmart library will conform to it.

According to your description, you can refresh the cube. But the users from a domain can't do this and get the above error. Right?
In this scenario, since you are the only user which can refresh the cube and the other user can't, it might be permission issue. Please re-grant the cube permission (Read/Write) for the domain users. See:
Grant cube or model permissions (Analysis Services).

For those experiencing problems connecting to the Music Stor

I sent the following comments through feedback to Apple:
Since upgrading to iTunes 6 I've lost the ability to connect to the Music Store. I can browse, but I can't buy anything. I get an error message (-9813). I went to discussions to see if I was the only one having this problem, but I see that many people are experienging it.
I went to iTunes support, and followed the troubleshooting steps stated there:

but it didn't work.
I then noticed that not only I wasn't able to connect to ITMS, but the same problem occurred when I tried syncing my computer with my iDisk (Through system preferences), and also when I tried to connect to home page through iPhoto, or when I try to backup to my iDisk (using Backup 3).
I first thought, as many in these discussions, that there is a problem with the Music Store, but I think the problem seems to be .mac related. And more precisely, with port 443, which is the port used for SSL and HTTPS connections.
Speaking of HTTPS, let me tell you that when I try to connect to a HTTPS site, like the Apple store, for example, I get a message stating that Safari doesn't recognize Apple's own certificate to grant access to that page.
I also thought the problem could be with my ISP, but I've been working with it for a long time now and never experienced a problem with it. Everything started happening after upgrading to iTunes 6.
I have no idea how to correct this problem, I believe I'm not the only one.

While refreshing the report the , the system is unable to refresh properly .If context is changed in the report the context member is getting fixed instead of dynamically changing.

After upgrading my iPad to iOS 6 some of the music playlists from iOS 5 no longer work, because they are not available on iOS 6, eg. recently added, recently played. Should I delete them?

Since the upgrade to iOS 6 some of my music playlists from iOS 5 do not work, eg recently added, recently played, probably because they are not available on iOS6. Should I delete them.

I should mention that I have the same issue with my Iphone 4s, now using iOS6.

Problem in refreshing the data in Xcelsius

I have added a refresh button in my dashboard to refresh the data from the BOE , but ones i click that button it ask for user authentication and ones i enter that and click ok nothing happens , the data is not getting refreshed.
In second case i made my data connection as refresh on load so as soon i launch my dashboard it ask for user authentication and after entering that details nothing happens and i am not able to see the data and even if i enter wrong details in the pop up window it does not gives any error message for wrong credentials.
Earlier i was getting the error like #2032 , #2017 so i maintained the crossdomail.xml file in web server it was resolved.
But i am not able to refresh the data nor i am getting any error message kindly suggest !!

Thanks for replying.
Step 1 : I have used a excel sheet using the live office connection and using the existing CR report from the BOE.
Step 2 : Then i have published that excel sheet in BOE
Step 3 : I have imported that spreadsheet in the Xcelsius and created a dashboard on top of that.
Step 4 : I have added a refresh button on the dashboard which is used to refresh the live office connection and the session URL that i have maintained is http://XXXC043A:8080/dswsbobje/services/session . i am not using the refresh on load option.
Step 4 : When i preview the dashboard with the preview button available in the Xcelsius i can see the dashboard with the existing data but ones i click the Connection refresh button a user authentication window pop up which ask for the system name user id and pwd and Authentication type . I used the Enterprise authentication for that but ones i submit the credential nothing happens even if i enter the wrong information no error message is prompted.
