Problem with 4g LTE

We are being charged overage since last November 2012.  They said my 4g LTE spiked up in November to 11GB and I have the 4GB plan a month. I started fighting with verizon then and have been fighting since then.  There is no way we are using that, my husband only get on the internet to check facebook and hotmail.  I even took my battery out of my device and they still said I was using data.  I told tech support last night that I was ready to take both our phones and this hotspot and tell them where they could put it, and he said ok that is fine whatever you want to do.  Verizon said they have been issuing me a credit, but there is a problem, I have not noticed it on bill.  They have sent me two different devices and I am still having problems.  One night at 900 PM I got a text message that I was at
50% then I turned it off, next morning I got up and turned on computers and hot spot...was on 15 minutes and got another text message at 75%, then 45 minutes later got another text message 90%.  Then by noon that day was at 100%.  That was only checking facebook and hotmail.  No downloads...no streaming movies, nothing like that.  I have spoken with tech support today, and they said they put a diamond ticket in on my account, suppose to research my account and see what is happening.  If by the end of next month I am still having problems I am probably gonna switch company's after 25 years...but I am through fighting.  When I went to verizon store today they told me other people was having problems with the jet-pak.  I think they need to get this fixed and credit all of us for the past 6 months for all the overage. 

Make sure you have automatic downloads turned off on your computers os, and software update turned off as well.
Those 2 items will cause your data to surge.  Another thing try changing your password on your hotspot as well.

    Hello I seem to be having a problem with the Iphone 5. I live in the Denver CO market and use ATT service. After speaking with ATT the problem I am having is an "Apple Problem". So here is what is going on. Att recently launched LTE in Denver. I work on the edge of the LTE/HSPA network borders in Greenwood Village. So basicly I get 1 bar of LTE service and 4 bars of HSPA. That being said the one bar of LTE is dramaticly faster then the 4-5bars of HSPA. The Iphone seems to be doing something that I can't understand at all. Because it is having problems picking what connection to use it opts to use nothing at all. No HSPA no LTE just phone signal at full bars.
    So I reboot the phone and BAMM! I have LTE 2 bars and great speeds for about 3min. Then back to nothing........ I am loosing my mind here anyone know if there is a setting or something that can be done?

    Even i am also experiencing same issue. Like during the day when tried doing browsing when i am on LTE, and it doesnt respond. If i reboot the phone, it then starts to work.
    I am almost 99% sure , this has started happening since 6.0.2 iOS update.
    APPLE support : In case, if you are reading this ... do you know a permanent fix for this by any chance, would it more like waiting for another iOS upgrade or can apple/att do something about it ?

    The warranty for the iPhone is not and has never been International.
    Warranty and support are ONLY valid in the country of origin.  The only exception is the EU where the entire EU is treated as one country.
    If the device will be used in India, buy it in India.
    An unlocked iPhone will work on any supported GSM carrier world wide.  The LTE portion of a US purchased, unlocked iPhone is unlikely to work outside North America as it does not support the appropriate bands used in other countries.

  • Does anyone else have issues with Verizon LTE service on the new iPad?

    I have the new iPad. I have noticed that issues with the LTE signal have gotten progressively worse. When my iPad is sitting in 1 spot it will switch from 3 bars, to no service, to 3 bars, and so fourth. I might be on a website, or in an app that is using data and it works great. Then at random it says No Service again. I just added my iPad to my Verizon account with their new family data plan, so they sent me a brand new SIM card. I feel like I can rule that out.
    I just want to know if anybody else has an issue with their iPad dropping service at random and jumping all over the board. I also have an iPhone on Verizon and it is with me always, I never have this problem with the iPhone. My iPad will say No Service but my iPhone will show nearly full service.
    Just to add, I have switched off LTE for periods of time to see if things change. (that way both my iPhone and iPad are on 3G so I can compare) Things are no different when just running LTE.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am under warrenty and I have Apple Care. I hate taking stuff in and replacing it if I don't need to.
    I am also signed up with a developer account through Apple, and my iPad has iOS 6 beta. This problem did not start with the beta software. It was the case before and after. I guess I was hoping if it was an issue Apple would address it with one of the revisions in iOS 6, but now I am starting to wonder if it is hardware.

    It was replaced by the iPhone 5C, which is essentially the same phone except for the case, better LTE converage and a larger battery.

    This is the Lockheed Martin flight simulator site, it just takes forever to resolve the connection (if it ever does at all) and it's like molasses in January loading the pages once it does. Why? I don't have this problem with other sites?

    I appreciate your replies guys. I tried the network-tools site and it blew right in instantly with a tracert of 9 hops. I then popped open a command window and ran a tracert from my own machine through the hotspot and it took 19 hops. What I noticed is that all the IPs are different when I run the tracert from the hotspot, look here:

    So I'm assuming the difference in those IPs are the problem, what is that about and why does the hotspot mask the IPs like that where the network-tools site doesn't? I guess given that Lockheed Martin is the world's largest defense contractor and it's probably vital to national security that their site be secure it would stand to reason that they might be using security techniques that most sites don't use. I spend a lot of time on flight simulator forums (I am an FS developer and also on the beta team for the Prepar3D sim) and someone usually throws up a post about it somewhere whenever there's a problem with one of the major FS sites. Avsim.net for example is always flakey and there are usually 2 or 3 threads a month on the various forums where someone is complaining about it. I can't remember ever seeing a thread about the Prepar3D site so I can only assume I'm the only one who has problems with it. Further it seems like once I finally get in I can usually surf around the forum without much trouble, it's like once the initial connection has finally broken through then data is allowed to flow almost normally.
    I tried disabling IPv6 although I'm not sure if I did it right, I found it under Settings > LAN in the jetpack admin page. Is that the right setting? It rebooted the hotspot when I unticked the box but it didn't seem to change anything with regard to getting into the Prepar3D site so I put it back. Maybe I changed the wrong setting?
    BTW I usually run the hotspot in "EDVO only" mode since it just seems to work better than "Automatic (4G LTE, CDMA) which was the default. Where I live I've seen 4G service only two or three times in the 3 years I've been on Verizon, those were all back when I was using the Samsung SCH-LC11 hotspot, I've never seen 4G (here) with this MiFi unit. I don't really have a problem with that as it's not advertised as a 4G service area according to the coverage map and in general the MiFi device has been quite a bit more reliable than the Samsung was. I have had the MiFi connected to my sister's laptop in town 5 blocks from the cell tower and seen 4G downloads at 3 MB/sec.

    Has Apple fixed the problem with 4G cellular connection on the iPad 3?

    Cellular connection problem was for US connection in Houston, Texas.  Have an iPad 2 which functions perfectely on Wi-Fi or 3G.  Bought an iPad 3 strictly to get the increased speed from the 4G LTE connection.  Purchased on with the AT &T cellular.  Wi-Fi functions fine, but 4G LTE connection is terrible when it connects at all.  Went to AT&T and they said no problems with service in my area, but never get over 2 bars and most times, Web pages load very slow or will hang and not load at all.  Went to the Apple store and they said it was AT&T network problem and went to AT&T and they said no problems with their service.  Went to the Apple communities forum here and discovered that many people were having the same problems with the 4G LTE cellular connection on their iPad 3's.  Didn't seem to matter if it was AT&T or Verizon.  So I decided that I would just return the unit and wait for Apple to fix the problem.  Hence my question.

    There's been lots of talk about the iphone5 battery issues.  I'm one of those unlucky iphone5 owner who got some problems with the batterie.  Some thought it was related to ios6.  I can tell you it has nothing to do with it.  I was concerned about the product quality because of what I was experiencing but I knew it wasn't something that would get out of Apple's control.  They were kind enough to monitor my device and also kind enough to change my phone.  Since I got the new one, I can tell you that my battery issue is forever gone.  I only lost 25% within a period of 11 hours using it normally.  I'm running all features, including LTE,bluetooth, wifi, traffic and so on.  It is performing as well as my iphone4.  So if you have problems with your phone, go back to Apple Store and they will change your device.  I do appreciate Apple!s customer's service and so should you.  As for iOS6, I've upgrated my iphone4, ipad and ipod and there's nothing to worry about.  It's not draining my batteries any faster than iOS5, not at all.

    But it's covered by Apple's warranty - if you ask, they should erase & reinstall OS X then if it still panics without adding any 3rd party software, there has to be some problem with the computer.

    Hello I used an online tutorial to create an "express CSS
    menu" the menu looks really good but it does not validate and in
    IE7-Vista every page you try to access prompts an error that says

  • Problem with Access Point app

    Yesterday I experienced a problem with my internet sharing where it wouldn't start and gave me an error: Connection not shared, Internet sharing isn't currently available
    . I ran across an article on wpcentral.com where they suggested installing the Access Point app from this thread:

    Now I've done that and I see 3 profiles in the app, only 2 are LTE. Activating either of those LTE profiles now gets me an error when trying to internet share that looks like this: Connection not shared, To enable tethering on this device, go to att.com/mywireless or dial 611. When I use the 3g access point profile I get the same message I was getting yesterday.
    At this point I don't think this app is doing anything for me. I dont' use multiple sims, I'm not a world traveller. I also don't know which profile I should be on. I'm clearly in over my head and would like to just take a step back. However, I can't see a way to uninstall the app as it's now in settings. How do I get myself back to where I was yesterday?
    And for bonus points, does anybody know what the original error I was getting means?

    Yes, I've tried a soft reset to no avail. I've gone to both the AT&T store and the Microsoft store and neither of them have any thoughts on what's going on. At this point I think I will need to replace the hardware since I've not found a solution from anyone.

  • Due to the rumored heat problems with the iPad 3, is there a danger in using a leather case design for it.

    I recently purchased a 64 GB Verizon LTE iPad,  along with a Bear Motion leather case designed specifically for that model. I've been reading a lot about the heat problems with the new iPad and although I haven't noticed them on mine, I'm worried that putting it in the case may cause worse problems. Is this something I should be concerned about?

    Unless you have a defective iPad you should be fine.  The only time it should be heating up is when you're running an intensive app like a game that's working the quad-core processor and the screen.  I bought a Targus leather case for mine and play InfinityBlade2 on it and haven't noticed any heating issues with mine, but the part holding the iPad is plastic, so it can disipate heat better.
    If your iPad gets too hot it'll warn you, so I'd use it for now and see what happens.  It'll shut down before it causes any permanent damage.

    Although this reply is late.  I just want to share that I have the same issue - no LTE after upgrade to 8.1.3 on my iPhone 5.  No matter switch on/off iPhone or LTE option or Airplane Mode -  they all didn't work....but after an upgrade to 8.2 today.  I got my LTE back now after a month...not sure if it is a bug or a reset work.  Good luck to anyone who looking for the resolution of same issue.

  • A number of problems with my HP-655

    Iv'e had this laptop for nearly 2 years, but actually using the thing for about 6-7 months because its been sat in a laptop bag due to it not functioning AT ALL.
    1. After 3-4 months of getting it, it would not boot up, i got the black screen and blinking caps lock ( which im aware is coding for a cpu failure an other things like that ) after about a week straight of trying i gave up, put it in a laptop bag an didnt get it back out agen for about a year. ( i had yet ANOTHER hp compaq laptop prior to this one that did the same thing. )
    2. i got the laptop out one day and it decided to boot up. it gave me the option to do a system restore, which i did.
        That seemed to do the trick, so after i was done using it, i tried to shut it down. it would get to the blue screen ' shutting down ' and would just stay like that....
    3. For some reason everytime i booted it up again it asked me to system restore, i must of done this 6-7 before it stopped.
    4. After about a week of it functioning well again, out of the blue, the keyboard started started typing specific                          keys like they were being pressed and held down and because of this the keys that turn up and down the screen
       brightness have been affected as my brightness jus goes down randomly ( when it feels like it ) which it will do for quite a while at times, its quite annoying having a picture of a brightness symbol constantly in the middle of the screen.
    So i have had quite a few problems with this, i got this with a phone contract which was nice but if you are going to pay money for something every month, you expect the thing to at least function perfectly. i didnt have insurance for this laptop so i have not bothered to contact HP and im pretty sure the warrenty has well ran out by now. it seems to jus come down to faulty hardware.
