its my freind phone and when he start the maps its locked by icons like shop locked when he zoom in the map is gone and when he zoom out the maps showing and locked

Open the map application and if that was the issue you should be ready to search.
If not then the maps have been deleted from your card and you will have to reload them. you would have recieved a CD Rom in the sales package called Route 66. This 3rd party software is stable but not stable enough so it seems; To re download the maps for your country they will charge you. average price tag is $10(au) per town and $85 (au) per city.
OR... you can find a friend who has another 6110NAV with the maps in tack and copy them using the Route 66 software. you simply connect the handset via usb and copy the maps to your pc then reload them on to a formatted memory card. Put the newly loaded card in to your 6110NAV and there you go.

Hi,
Does anyone has any problem with your 6110 navigator? It seems like the phone always reset on its own and hang whenever the alarm clock goes off. I have sent it back to nokia care center, they upgraded my firmware but it hang when the alarm clock goes off. The nokia care center checked it again and said that it's due to my SIM card. I am not using a 3G SIM card. Does anyone has similar problem?

An older SIM card can cause problems in newer phones. You might want to upgrade your SIM card and see if that cures the problem.

MENU PROBLEM WITH 6110 NAVIGATOR

I HAVE A NOKIA NAVIGATOR 6110
CAN ANY ONE HELP ME WITH THESE PROBLEMS
PROBLEM 1> WHEN I PRESS THE MENU BUTTON IT GOES TO A SINGLE FOLDER ON THE SCREEN
THE NAME OF THE FOLDER IS &qtn_apps_... AND MOST OF MY OTHER FOLDERS ARE IN HERE.
PROBLEM 2> WHEN I GO INTO THE DATE AND TIME SECTION IT WILL NOT GIVE ME ACCESS.

Problem with Sat Nav

Hi there, I am experiencing some problems when trying to use my Sat Nav on my Curve. When I start up the application, it opens for a few seconds then pops up with a message saying 'A network error has occured, please try again later. If this problem persists, please check your network settings or contact customer support.' What should my network settings be, and how do I change them? I don't think I touched the settings for that, since getting the phone.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum!
As well as OVI Maps application needing to be set "Offline" within application > Spanner icon > Internet > Connection, you would need to go to Menu > Settings > Application settings > Positioning > Positioning methods - only enable Integrated GPS positioning method for no data cost although implication for satellite lock on if not utilising Assisted GPS feature with network access.
You may find that you need to go outdoors away from tall buildings for 20 - 30 minutes to establish first positional fix.
If you are not running OVI Maps v3.06 11wk10 check "?" icon within application > About Maps > Versions you may need to upgrade either via SW Update or OVI Store on device, via OVI Suite > Tools > Software updates on PC or directly from here:http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download#/nokia-n8-00...
If your N8 is not already updated to PR1.2 check by keying in *#0000# on dialler you could find that device still running OVI Maps v3.04, in which case you would be told that existing map data on mass memory has to be deleted and replaced when OVI Maps application updated.

6110 navi GSM connection problems

Hi there,
At home, my 6110 navi won't send or receive calls or sms. The weird thing is that :
1) the network sensitivity is at the highest (6/6) since I live downtown
2) I can easily get a connection in GPRS
3) My former phone (which was also a nokia) didn't have such a problem.
Still, no way to call or be called ! Anyone has ever experienced such an issue ?

Is there a link with the network setup ? Actually, I can choose between GRPS and GSM. I heard that GRPS was relying on GSM for voice calls but maybe it's not... So, is there a chance I get rid of my problem by setting up manually my mobile to GSM ?

Having problem with Nav. Bar on PC's

Hi All,
After thinking I was finished with my web page and checking it on three different Mac's with Safari, Firefox, Netscape and Exploer, all seemed to be fine. Alas, anyone who has tried to view it on a PC can not go beyond the first page since the links on the Nav.bar don't work.
Can anyone tell my why this has happened and how to fix it?

Nice site, things are looking good. To be honest I don't know how to fix your problem with windows users not being to access your nav bar, but I do know that there are quite a few people on here who have both safari and windows and will probably post about this. What I can offer is my opinion on the default iweb nav bar, get rid of it and create your own. Simply create a text-box and enter in the name of your page. Highlight the text box, open up the inspector - chose the link tab at the very end - chose to enable as a hyperlink and select one of my pages. Select the page you would like to link to and your all set. This is a long way around your problem, but it will enhance your site visually and hopefully solve your problem. I have done this on a few sites, and never had any problems reported from windows users. After you do this dont forget to uncheck the display navigation menu box in the inspector under the page tab. Hope this helps and good luck!

[5800xm] Problem with rSAP usage in Skoda nav-syst...

like in the topic: I have a problem with rSAP usage in Skoda nav-system Columbus: it stays ON searching for the car nav-system & eats battery level (just being standby): within 24 hrs completely empty. With bluetooth turned on, without previously connecting to my Skoda nav-system, the phone can run for about 10 days standby.
I tried every setting without improvement, I run the latest firmware/software on my 5800 XM.
Only if I turn off manually the bluetooth subsystem (not just the nav-system connection, but completely turn off bluetooth), then the phone doesn't eat through my battery-level. I dont want that, because it's not neccessary (I have to turn it back on again later & forget to do that), sometimes I forget and find out people can't reach me coz my phone is battery-empty.
Anyways, this situation is already since the beginning when I bought the phone from Nokia store. No improvement since.
Please can anybody help out?

Well, since a few days we're testing the default setting from aspergerguy and now it seems the battery problem doesn't occur no more. Amazing how such a small change of unexpected / undocumented setting can give a device real purpose instead of almost uselessness.
For clarity, again the problem: I am able to use the phone with the carkit-nav system, but after using (ergo: getting out of the car, into our home), the phone eats through the battery within 24hrs.
This now no longer happens with Wireless car kit set as default.

Here we use MediaNav with iPhone4s, 5, and 5s. I use spotify to stream music, it works great. But each approx. 15s the signal drops for a moment.
I believe there is nothing wrong with the bluetooth connection of the iPhones, as I use them with other audio systems.

Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome. Works in IE. This is my first time trying to post a question - so please be kind. I am also not good with code and am finding css a real challenge after learning to design based on tables. I'm using CS5.

I realize the images are not ideally sized - I'll fix those once I get the pages to function. Maybe I need a different slide show? I would prefer a widget that I can modify to required size & postition. Again - I'm not good at building with code from scratch.
The problem is the naviagation links that are directly next to the slide show do not work in Firefox of Chrome. They do work in IE.
I've read about using jQuery.noConflict(); code but can't figure out the correct way to use it in my case or whether that's even part of the solution. I know my code is not well organized as I have cobbled together from various sources in an attempt to format the page the way the client wants it. Also, FYI, I will eventually try to make the page work in Surreal CMS.
I've spent sevaral days over the last several weeks trying to solve sth slide show/navigation conflict - so any specific light you can shed will be much appreciated.

Problem with installing CUCM on MCS-7816-I5

Hi to all.
I have a problem with installing CUCM 8.6.1 on new MCS-7816-I5 (IBM) hardware. The problem is that installation loops in restart after upgrading MCS firmware. Actualy, installation does not sucessfully upgrade firmware, so every time it detects old firmware and trying to upgrade it.
I also tried update MCS firmware with downloaded Firmware Update Utility 3.6.5 CD from Cisco downloads, but it also fails.
Does anyone have idea what's going on? Is this a Cisco failure or IBM server failure?

It almost sounds like this bug;

Incorrect "Hardware Configuration Error" due to hardware setup errors
Symptom:
Refresh upgrade stops with IMM device detection, and then server being reported as unsupported
Conditions:
in-band USB interface was disabled, which is configurable via IBM system X or IMM (browser) interfaces.
Workaround:
change the in-band usb interface settings to enabled.

Problem with maps on e72

Hi everyone
I've got a problem with maps on my E72.
I've seen advert that Nokia is going to let everyone use maps for free on selected models.
I was going to buy Sat Nav for whole Europe as I travel a lot and I was going to change my old N95. I thought I could do both in one new phone. Checked all the available models and chose E72. It said it;s got GPS and you don't need to use your network and spend fortune on internet connection. Got it from eBay for £270.
I installed Ovi Maps from internet and the first thing that surprised me was it had 'only' 7-8MB.
I thought that something was wrong, maps for 72 countries couldn't be 8MB big.
After some time I managed to set my e72 up. Put my Maps on and...
It takes loads of time to find GPS connection, but the worst thing is if I type lets say Paris it doesn't find anything. Map has wholes, like suddenly the roads end and there's nothing there.
My question is what am I doing wrong? Do I need to download something more? I didn't have any maps on my phone when I bought it. Where can I find them?
If someone could help I'd appreciate it.

I forgot to mention that when I choose a destination it keeps saying Calculating route all the time. I waited about 15 minutesand it didn't calculate anything.

Problem with CSS styles and Previewing in Firefox

Hello,
I recently rebooted my Mac OS X system (leopard) and reinstalled Adobe CS3. Before this I had virtually no problems with Dreamweaver and everything was running smoothly. However, now whenever I preview my pages in Safari, the CSS code is completely mangled.
Also, my site won't preview in Firefox unless I close any existing tabs and exit Firefox completely. I have no idea why these problems are occurring, but I have pasted the code below so any advice would be extemely helpful.

thanks so much for the insight on the firefox issue. hopefully they fix that soon.
as for the css, i do have a screenshot of what's happening. the background image seems to repeat after the navigation bar instead of keeping the transparent background. it's extremely odd and i've never seen it before. it can be seen in the attached photo.

Canon 860 Series (Pixma) Printer Problems with OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) – links to Canon Support Site with Drivers and Software with install tips

After spending several hours sorting out Canon Pixma OSX problems here are my thoughts:

Problem:
- New imac and MacBook Pro 2012 (OSX 10.8.2) had a problem using Canon Pixma 868 printer on network and would not scan or print using Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print), which has advanced scanning and photo printing functions.
- When I connected the canon printer to my imac, OSX 10.8.2 automatically downloaded and installed drivers for Canon 860 series printer. I could then add the new printer (select ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”) and printer would work while connected via USB but could not get to print or scan over network wifi.
- The original Canon 860 Series CD does not work with 10.8 and the manual / online instructions did not make sense (as based on CD install).
Solution:
1) Install Canon Printer Drivers and Software (from official Canon site)
Go to canon support site, review FAQ, then download and install following Pixma 860 Series software & drivers for OSX 10.8 (links see below). The version I downloaded is in brackets but check for updated version. Full instructions are below.

If you have problems installing the software under 10.8, see the FAQ on Canon site. You will need to allow software installs from “unidentified developers by using “Control” Key or by changing your system preferences)
2) Check Canon Printer and Software Working while connected via USB
Once you have downloaded and installed drivers and software and restarted computer, check that the printer and Canon Pixma software (Pixma MP Navigator 2.1 & Photo Print) are working via USB. Open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App) and make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it shows the correct SSID Wifi settings (under the Canon IJ Network Tool App ‘Setup menu’). This is normally done as part of the automatic install but worth double checking
3) Add new network printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”).
After you have checked USB printing turn off printer, unplug the USB cable and shutdown the Canon IJ Network Tool App.
Then turn the printer back on and wait 30s. Then add a new printer using ‘apple menu’ / ‘system preferences’ / ‘print and scan’ / “+”). Once you select “+” (add new printer), wait 10-30s for the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer to appear in the new window eg Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) (Kind: “Canon IJ Network”)
DO NOT ADD THE MX 860 SERIES BONJOUR SCANNER (the Bonjour Scanner is the built-in software, is not needed and often appears first on the add printer list). The Canon scanner can be accessed used through the MP Nav EX Ver. 2.1.3 software (which has much better functions)
You will now have two Printer Canon MX860 (USB) and Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network). Set the Canon MX860 (Wifi / Network) as default and test print and scan
If the Wifi Networked Canon MX 860 Series printer does not appear, check the printer and make sure that the printer can see the wifi network. On the printer select Menu / Settings / Device Settings / Lan Settings / WLAN Setting List. It should say WLAN Active, identify the SSID and have an IP address
If the printer can not see the Wifi Network, plug the USB cable back in, then open the Canon IJ Network Tool App (Applications / Canon Utilities /IJ Network Tool / Canon IJ Network Tool App). Make sure you can see the Canon MX 860 series (xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx) and that it has your SSID settings (under setup), if it has this info, restart the computer and the printer and try again

Two new problems with the Quicktime Plug-in

I recently discovered two new problems with the current Quicktime Plug-in for Mac OS X.
First, the Quicktime Plug-in is unable to stream Quicktime media in any internet browsers other than Safari.
There is just nothing on the spot where the embedded Quicktime player should be.
Second, the Quicktime Plug-in only shows the message "The operation couldn't be completed. This file is not a movie file (-2048)"
everytime it should work together with the Flip4Mac Plug-in. The thing is, when facing a webpage where a wmv or wma file is
embedded, there only shows that error message on the spot where the player should exist. I first thought that it would be a
problem with Flip4Mac. So I uploaded about this problem on telestream.net, only to hear that the error message above belongs
to the Quicktime Plug-in.
Both of these problems did not happen at all only three weeks ago. The embedded Quicktime player showed up without any problem
in my Firefox and Opera, and wmv or wma files were streamed successfully through the Flip4Mac and Quicktime Plug-ins.
Then, suddenly, after some point, these two problems began to occur, and there is no information on how to solve them on the web.
I obviously tried uninstalling and reinstalling Quicktime. I even completely erased the hard disk of my Macbook, and reinstalled the
whole Mac OS X. But the problems still remained. I borrowed another Macbook from my friend to check whether these problems
occur in other computers, and they did occur in my friend's Macbook as well. So they are definitely not the matter of my own Macbook only.
I think these might be the problems with the new Quicktime Plug-in 7.7.1.
Please check about these problems and solve them on the next version of the Quicktime Plug-in.

Printing Problem with Quicken & Preview

I recently tried to print a Report in Quicken 2003. It just spit out 2 blank pages. I went back to print window and clicked on Preview and the Report shows but just spits out 2 pages. I went back to print window and did a Print as PDF and saved the file the desktop.
Opened the PDF with Preview and tried to print - it just spit out 2 blank pages again. Finally opened the PDF with Adobe and it printed fine.
I've had prior problems with Preview just spitting out blank pages.
I'm using an HP 6110 that in all other applications prints just fine.
Any idea why Quicken and Preview just spit out blank pages?
