Problem with 6500

Hi, I bought my Nokia 6500 a couple days ago and I am having problems with the contacts information already. When I receive messages/calls from certain numbers, it will show as their number and not their name even though I have already saved their number in my contacts list.
I have already tried transferring all the contacts from my sim into phone, or vice versa and it still does not work. I have also tried turning it on and off multiple times and deleteing and adding my contacts over and over again. However the problem still persists for several of my contacts.
Any help please?
Thanks in advance

ah that changes things now, doesn't it...well if that is not the case then i am not really certain of what might be going on in your contacts. so sorry
/discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=117545&query.id=522642#M117545
and you did read all these possibilities in this thread and still nothing. i think this is by far the most extensive description to date.
the only other thing i can think of is, how old is your sim card, sometimes with the older sim cards funny things happen. so if it is an older one you might want to consider updating it to the newest one your provider uses.

  • Persistent problem with 6500 Classic

    Hello.
First I want to apologize if this is the wrong place for my problem.
I buyed my Nokia in the end of 2007. Since then I have problem with my earpiece and ringer. From time to time when listening music in the begining of the song the sound becomes really bad, nothing can be understand. To fix the problem you have to change the song or stop it and play it again. The same thing happens and when you talk with somebody. When I dial somebody sometimes the sound becomes really bad and I can't understand him and he also can't understand me. I have to dial him again. The same thing happens when somebody dial me, but again not always. The mentioned problems occur on about every 10th song and call, sometime in less time, sometime after couple of days, a week.
The phone go in repair. First time from the magazine said to me that there wasn't such a problem. The second and the third time they said to me that the problem is solved and earpiece and ringer are changed, but the problem continues. I get my Nokia from repair today. The problem continues. I don't know what to do.
    Please can somebody help me.

I think this is done intentionally in case you are using one of the application. You don't want it to lock while you are using something.
There is a shortcut to the standby screen though. While you are in one of the applications, you can press the red End Call button to close everything down and return you to the standby screen.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problems with 6500 Slide

I`ve had the 6500 slide for about a week and theres 2 problems. First is that during voice calls the line is very `crackly` and the other person can`t hear me and sometimes hangs up. And secondly there is sometimes a delay of about 30 mins in me receiving text messages. This isn`t due to the clock time as some people have reported. People have been phoning me thinking i`ve been ignoring them but i haven`t actually received their messages yet.Can anyone help or suggest anything?

I've had mine a few days and I can report the following problems. When you tune the radio, the phone freezes. You can't exit the radio setting screen, with either a red button press or pressing "exit." The phone switches on and off quite a bit, and the battery life is non-existent. The 6233 on GSM only gave three or four days easy. This one is 24 max. Otherwise, the phone freezes pretty regularly. Most annoying of all, the loudspeaker is terrible. The location of the speaker BEHIND the handset is one of the biggest engineering gaffs I have ever seen from Nokia. The loudspeaker quality of this handset is useless.

  • Mac OS 10.7 printer problem with 6500 all-in-one wireless

HP 6500 all-in-one wirelss: After configuring (and reconfiguring) the printer and exhausting all the troubleshooting steps suggested by HP, I still have the problem of prints stalling in the queue or, alternately, printing very very slowly. Wireless connectivity is "excellent" according to the Wireless Network Test Report. When printing, printer is found, display says "Connected to Printer" then the barber-pole spins and spins and eventually the word "Idle" appears. Any suggestions on how to get printer to work?

This article should help to maintain wireless connection:

  • LMS 4.0.1 - Inventory problem with 6500 VSS

    Hello,
I have just made a fresh install of LMS 4.0. I installed the 4.0.1 version too. It is done on a Windows 2008 STD running a WM environment.
I have only one problem : I cannot get the inventory collection for a 6500 VSS chassis. It is discovered, I got the archive configuration, it is visible on the data topology and on CiscoView but when I try to collect it for the inventory I got the following message :
    R2-C6509-01
    Device Collection  Failed.
    Someone has an idea?
    Thanks by advance,
    Regards,
    Abel JULIAN,
    Nextiraone France.

Login to LMS, then point your browser to
        http://SERVERIP:1741/rme/devices.do
select your device and click "Edit Device Attributes", then click "Inlide Edit" and adjust the SNMP timeout settings for this device; in a first step change it to 10 (default is 2); Save the settings by clicking "Modify" and on the next screen "Apply".
Retry Inventory Collection and see if it will be successful now.

  • Serious problems with 6500s

I've downloaded the latest software update for 6500s, however it did not improve on my hp, it hangs up automatically when im on the phone or it shuts down by itself. I doubt im not the only user of 6500 who is having these problems.

  • Problem with Contacts for 6500 slide

I recently bought a Nokia 6500 slide and i`m very pleased, except one thing.
I used to have some other phones, and all my contacts were on the memory of that phone (not on the SIM).
For me to have my contacts on the 6500 slide, i had to move all those contacts on the sim, then insert the sim into the 6500 slide and move them again from there to the phone memory (i hate having my contacts on the sim couse i can't add any aditional info).
Ok, so.. after i moved all my contacts to the phone memory, i saw that from about 200 contacts, i only have about 20. At first i thought "ok, there was a problem with the moving process and i lost them all..." I was just about getting over this, when I realized that those numbers that I lost are still in there, but i can't see them.
If I manualy enter a number of a contact that don't show in my Contacts List, when it dials, the number appears on the screen. Same if that contact calls me. I can't see them in the Contact List tho.
It's like there are hidden or something..
I tried changing the settings so that i can see only the contacts in the SIM (in which case, none apear), only in the phone (only those 20 or so appear) or showing both (still, only 20 or so appear).
The contacts are not in the SIM couse i tried putting the sim back in the old phone, and it's empty.
They must be somewhere in the phone. Is there a hidden setting that i can find, that allows me to see those contacts that I thought I lost? It's very annoying to wait till someone calls me so I can add his number again in the phonebook
To be more specific, let me give an example.
Let's say I had contact "John" with the number "12345678". Now I can't see it anymore.
If i dial 12345678 and then hit "Call", it apears like "Calling John"
If John calls me, it apears like "John" on the screen.
If i try to add John to the phone book I get a message like "A name is already entered for that number"
It's like... all the contacts are already there, but I can't see them
Can someone help me please... I`m really desperate

    Hello and welcome to the forums;
First, you mention the error references a SIM card, however your profile says you have a Sprint device. A small problem there, and I would like to clear up any confusion as which device you have: a Sprint CDMA device, or one with a SIM card.
Second, have you tried restarting your device? Hold down the power button and move the ringer mute switch next to it back and forth 3 times, then wait 4-5 seconds for the device to restart by itself.
Try this, and let us know what happens.

  • Problem with HP 6500-E709n Wireless software on Windows 7 64-bit

How do I, or should I, uninstall Microsoft xps printer before installing HP 6500-E709n software on Windows 7 64-bit?
I have tried installing, uninstalling & reinstalling the software twice now and am preparing for a third installation. I inadvertently left the wireless printer on during the first installation & eversince then, I've had to physically unplug the printer to get it to shut off. Now, the printer will only shut off with the power button if I hit it before the wireless light comes on.  I cannot get the printer key pad keys to function at all, other than turning the power on & off as described above.
Up to now, I had been using a wireless network flawlessly with a NETGEAR router, untill I tried to install the HP software on my Windows 7 64-bit unit. Now my other computers no longer find the printer....I get the message the printer is off line.
I have currently unistalled all the HP software and rebooted for the third time. The Microsoft XPS printer now shows as the default printer...& I can't find it in the add-remove program list. Do I need to uninstall it before installing the HP software, or is my problem with the eprom firmware?

  • Problems with dark Artifacts on images when viewed on PC screens???

I have a very urgent problem concerning Adobe Photoshop CS3, my Apple Cinema 20 inch Display and my SpyderPro2 on my Mac Pro Intel Dual Core Xeon 2x 2.66GHz.
I have been using the Spyder for some years now, but recently I have been having big problems with the results. I only use Photoshop CS3 to enhance digital products images.
I have a major contract with a jewellery company in London, where I clean up digital photos. Images that I have lightened up to look great on my Cinema Display have been reported by my client to look pretty dark on their PC's in their offices.
Some of these images show lines and grubby patches??? To check this I opened files in Photoshop and moved the levels 'black' slider down quite some way, and did see evidence of what the client could see at their end? It seems that when I have used a faded eraser brush it leaves a light patch in between the shadows of the jewellery. This shouldn't be visible to the naked eye though?
I must point out that when I use the eyedropper tool on images, to read the amount of grey or colour in the white areas around the peices, I am shown values of 1,2 or 4 maximum in the CMYK values. 4 percent out of 100 is nothing and should not be visible to the naked eye?
How is it that my clients PC's can see dark shadows and where my eraser brush has rubbed out???
I have tried many re-calibrations and also tested all of my older calibrations dating back a few years. I have also tested the same faulty images on Intel iMac's, an eMac, and a few PC's. On the iMac's I can just about make out the artefacts that my client can see, but nothing that I would deem as unacceptable.
I am at a loss as to the fault, but It may be the Spyder2 Pro's inability to calibrate my Apple Cinema display properly? I may lose my contract which I cannot afford to do, and I simply have to find the cause ASAP.
I have my Mac's in my office apartment next to two bay windows. I have vertical blinds there. When calibrating I have always turned off all the lights and pulled the blinds right back so that only the light from the two large window doors is coming in.
For graphic design the calibrations seemed to be okay for quite some time, but recently it is getting harder to achieve good results with the Spyder? This could affect all of my workflow which is very serious. But I must stress that overall the Spyder results are not terrible. I can see good colours and dark levels and in general across all of my calibrated profiles, the jewellery looks acceptable on my Cinema Display?
I did say to my clients that they should calibrate their PC screen properly but their offices have many Screens and they all show the same artefacts (some much worse than others)? I know that PC Screens are darker than Mac's but a 4% grey should not be visible????
As these are a web company the images will be seen by PC users around the world and most of these will have no calibration on their screens. What can be done to prevent this and what is the cause of this? I can't possible please everyone, but as a creative professional I have to be 100% certain that my workflow is at its best.
I need urgent help to solve this or loose valuable business? I hope that you are able to help solve this mystery. Could this possibly be something with Photoshop?
I have just purchased the new Spyder3 Pro which I hope will give perfect results but I have to find out what the cause of this is. If some of the fault lies with the client, I can charge these for all the testing and calibrating I have done.
    Kind regards,
    Jason Conway

Thanks for all your comments and so quickly.
To be clearer, I am not working in CMYK for image enhancing at all, but windows RGB in photoshop, which is darker than working CMYK or Monitor RGB. I just use the CMYK colour scale in the photoshop colour picker window to see what values are around the object.
its not 4 across all four but on average C4, M2, Y1, K0.
When saving in save for web the images look fine on my screen, pretty much the same as the photoshop tiff file.
Each image has adobe RGB 1998 embedded when saved as a tiff file.
The client looks on internet explorer 7 on their PC's and also within Photoshop.
Colour settings within photoshop are using MacUser magazine's recommended setting from 2006: RGB: Adobe RGB 1998, CMYK: Euroscale Coated V2, Grey: Generic Grey, SPOT: 20% dot gain. Engine: Apple CMM, Intent: Relative Colorimetric. Also Black point compensation and User Dither are checked.
Also the monitor calibration is set at 6500 at 2.2 gamma.
To be clearer about the dark shadowing and the artefacts. When using levels I click on a shadow point to remove all but a slight shadow. Then I sometimes need to use the faded eraser to clean up or lessen the shadow. The image looks fine on my screen, but in the levels window I drag the black pointer about a third of the was across the screen to simulate what the client is seeing on their screen. This is quite a long way to drag the slider. I can sometime see the edges of the image, or white holes where the eraser has been. The lines are areas around the object that have been rubbed out a bit.
I agree that colour values will show on a screen, but the effect of the shadow should be smooth and not clearly visible with an edge?

    also p110741.tif
I have uploaded the layered tiff file and the web jpeg to my server, so you can hopefully see something odd?
If there is a problem with my cinema display at least its under warranty, and the new Spyder3 pro should help when it arrives in a few days time.
Hopefully I can pinpoint the exact cause to this and take steps to stop this ever happening again. I am very grateful for your advice and help.
    Kind regards,
    Jason.

  • Problem with dv6500

I am having problem with my HP Pavilion DV6500 (Series dv6636nr, P/N: GS664UA) that is described in this recall:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01087277&lc=en&cc=us
I have absolutely no power to the laptop.  It started by randomly turning on and off and now it won't turn on at all.   I've checked to make sure it is not the battery by removing the battery and just using the ac adapter, the battery with the ac adapter, and the battery alone.
Problem is, that the series and model of my laptop isn't covered under that recall I posted above.
Is there anything that I can do or has my laptop (about a year and a half old) become a glorified paper weight?

how to get sound  and audio driver for laptob hp dv 6500. il had windows vista before , but it has windows 7 now and i coud not that driver at hp support because  my laptob does not has yhe original system now, help me please. thanks.

unable to find appropriate driver for my mcbook air using a ricoh aficio mp36501SP network printer.  had similar problem with another ricoh copier/printer, but was able to resolve that problem entering ip address.  this one wants job code.  i don't believe mac allows for input on job code or printer code for permission to print

I'm having similar problems with an HP OfficeJet 6500. One suggestion that improved the situation, but did not totally solve the problem, was to select "OfficeJet Pro L7700" for its drivers.
One other suggestion is to turn off the printer, then simultaneously hold down the "#" and "9" keys and turn the printer back on. This hot key seems to reset the printer to factory defaults, allowing you to set things up anew.
Finally, kvetch to HP. Their networking software clearly has problems in its relationship to OSX, but nobody on either side seems motivated to bring in a good therapist.
