Problem with 68-pin cable

How can I fix the cable SH68-68-EP to the connector block CB-68LP (there is a gap of 5 mm between screw and hole) and to the DAQ card 6024E (there is no hole at all; it seems to me that some clip is necessary there!).

NI moved from a clip-style cable to a screw-lock style cable. While this was done over a few years and most boards and cables are cross-compatible, this doesn't appear to be the case for you. My best suggestion would be to call into NI technical support and explain the situation. Either a new cable or a cable-adaptation kit will most likely be required.

Justin

Is this a problem with the Pinned section of the Jump List for the Firefox icon? Assuming so, a few questions:
    * Did anything significant happen before the data was lost, such as using the Reset feature or uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox?
    * Are other sections of the Jump List (such as Frequent and Tasks) operating normally?
    * Are you able to pin a new site to the Jump List?
Windows uses a binary file format for Jump List data, meaning that viewing it in a text editor reveals a lot of gibberish in addition to scattered text (if you can even determine which file is relevant). There are utilities to extract this data. I haven't tried any myself, but this one came up in a search: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/jump_lists_view.html

  • Problem with Connector Pins??

Since Wednesday, I've had this issue with either the cable or the connector pins. If the wire is connected to the iPhone and and I push the plug slightly, the phone will cease to charge and sync with the computer until I've stopped touching it.
If I hold the phone at a certain angle, it again loses connection to the computer. Lose connection enough times and a pop up appears on my laptop saying something like "this device can perform faster on USB 2.0."
So, is it a problem with the connector pins? I tested out the cables on a different comp in case it was a problem with the USB port and it did the same thing.
Any opinion and/or help would be grateful.
    Thanks.
P.S. I'll try to post a video of the problem.

You can utilize any iPod cable. All the way back to iPod Nano's first model or maybe a few iPod classic models earlier than that. As long as the cable is USB 2.0 to iPod, it will work with connect and sync. You can't use FireWire to iPod however. FireWire doesn't have enough juice to sync devices except the first gen iPod era.
If other iPod cables don't work with your iPhone syncing there may be a problem with the connector pins which you can have an Apple employee inspect or visit an AT&T store for a probable swapout.
You can also purchase a battery case and utilize them for syncing. This replaces the iPod connector with Micro USB or Mini USB. You would connect your Mac/PC to the Micro/Mini USB and after it recognizes the new method, it'll know your iPhone and sync as well as charge your battery case.

  • Problem with DVI native - cable?

I have a Intel Mini and am trying to get it to display on my Philips 20" HDTV. The TV has DVI native input (not HDMI). Here's the situation:
    - Output Mini to S-Video or Composite Video into the S-Video or Composite on the TV works as expected, but the image quality is pretty poor. I understand this is a known limitation - fuzzy text seems to be common.
    - the DVI input socket on the Philips serves double duty for either DVI or analog input. For analog, I can use a DVI-VGA adapter (either the Apple one or a Belkin I have), and hook it up to my IBM laptop via a std. VGA cable and it displays under the "PC" input channel on the TV as expected. If I try to use VGA output from the Mini (this means using the Apple DVI/VGA adapter supplied with the Mini, connected to a VGA cable, and then another VGA/DVI adapter to plug into the TV's DVI port) - I do not get an image. Keep in mind the TV doesn't have a separate VGA port - it specifically uses and accepts VGA/analog input via the DVI port.
    - When I try to use a DVI-D cable from the Mac to the TV, tuning the TV to the "DVI" channel, I get no image.
When I say I don't get an image, I'm not talking about a sync problem. I do not even get a flicker at startup before the video driver loads, and I cannot display anything when booting into single-user mode. This is true with either the VGA method from the Mac described above, or the DVI method.
The DVI cable I am using has 19 pins - 9 + 9 + flat blade. The Apple and Belkin DVI to VGA adapters have 23 pins - 9 + 9 + 4 around the flat blade, and the flat blade itself.
Am I not getting any signal because I do not have those 4 pins around the flat blade? The only other DVI cables I have seen have 25 pins - 24 small pins and the flat blade, but do not have the 4 around the flat blade.
Does anyone have a reference on the pinouts of DVI std? It seems strange to me that I don't even get a flicker at startup (and I've tried both "PC" and "DVI" channels on the TV). This behavior indicates to me that I do not have a problem with sync or timing specs (yet anyway) - as it appears the TV doesn't even receive any type of signal from the Mini.
Intel Mini Mac OS X (10.4.6)
Intel Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Technically speaking, a display should not have a DVI-I input. DVI-I was invisioned by its creators to be an output only, so it should only be on a host and not on a monitor or TV. That said, there are some manufacturers that couldn't resist using DVI-I on their displays.
Since both the MBP and the mini have DVI-I outputs, when you hook them to a display with a DVI-I input using a DVI-I cable, there is definitely the possibility for conflict. It looks as though your MBP gives priority to the analog connection and hence reports a VGA monitor whereas your mini appears to prioritize the digital output and is reading a seperate EDID table and reporting the display differently.
I recommend you either try using a DVI-A-to-DVI-A cable or a DVI-D-to-DVI-D cable. This will eliminate any possibility for contention. And based on the results you have had so far, you might want to start with the DVI-A-to-DVI-A cable.

  • MBP 2011 can't find harddrive (not problem with drive or cable)

My early 2011 MBP 13" was running fine, then froze up. On restart I got the image of the folder with a question mark on it (the Mystery Folder) - the system couldn't find a drive to boot from.
I took it to a genius bar and the, ahem, "genius" said the system couldn't find the drive because of a problem with the drive. "The drive's dead" he said. I hadn't backed it up, and was freaking out that I'd lose all my data. The only option he said Apple could do would be to take it away (for a week) and put a new hard drive in for £80. They'd take the old drive out, and I wouldn't get it back to try and recover the data.
I asked about replacing the drive myself, as I've done that on PCs, and he said I could try it.
I bought a new hard drive, and an external enclosure. I put the new hard drive in the MBP - Mystery Folder. I put the old drive in the external enclosure - it starts up! Everything still there, exactly as I left it when it froze. I clone the old hard drive onto the new one, try booting from the new drive in the MBP. Mystery Folder. I connect the new drive with an external enclosure - it starts up! And everything running fine.
It's the cable, I hear you cry. So I ordered a new internal cable. Replaced it. Started it up. Mystery Folder.
So, it's not the hard drive, it's not the cable. What is it?!

    Hi Ogelthorpe.
That's right - I now have 2 hard drives, clones of each other.
Both will boot when in an enclosure and connected with a USB.
Neither will boot when inside the MBP.
So it's not the drives that are the problem. Therefore it's an internal cable problem?
    I replaced the cable.
Neither drive works when connected internally with the new cable.
What else could it be that means the system can't see the hard drive when connected internally?

  • IPod Touch 2nd Gen Video Out Problem with Apple Component Cable

I'm trying to get video out working with my iPod touch connected to my TV. Here's the information.
32 GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen
    Apple Universal Dock (current version.)
Apple Component Out cable for iPod (current version that connects with a dock connector.
I've connected the component cables into the component video input on my TV. When I start playing any video (purchased off iTunes store in Standard Def,) I get a scrambled picture that appears to be the video, and no sound. I purchased the TV in South Korea and haven't gotten to test it yet on a TV back in the US. I have my video out settings with wide screen turned off and set to NTSC (South Korea uses NTSC.) I've also tried every setting combination, and switching the cable connections with the same or similar results. Sorry if a similar problem has been posted elsewhere, but after searching, I couldn't find any similar behavior. Any ideas on what might be the cause? I don't have any other component devices to check if the component on the TV is bad.

I've got that same problem: iPod Touch 2nd Gen, Apple Component Cables, and an HD TV.
The funny thing is, the cable works fine with an iPod Classic (160 GB) but not for the iPod Touch. Can anyone explain why that is?

  • Problem with 30-pin adapter

When I use an apple 30-pin to lightning adapter for charging or listening to music I am not able to receive any call... is someone having the same problem??

Does the dock manufacture say it will work with iOS 6? Some docks do not.
Is there a firmware update available for your dock?
Have you went to theri support sute?
Have you tried resetting the dock?
    Sometimes this works
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Problem with the HDMI cable.

    Hi folks.
I was living in another country where I have had my TV and MacBook Pro Retina there with the Samsung TV via HDMI cable I was watching movies. Everything was perfect.
Recently moved to another country, I brought with my of course my MacBook and HDMI cable.
The problem now is, I have the very same Samsung TV and everytime I connect the TV with MacBook the TV displays green. Sounds work perfect. I can see everything but with the green thing on TV.
I bought another HDMI cable thought the problem would get solved, but the same problem even with the new HDMI cable.
Do you know how to solve this problem, guys?
    Thank you so much.

  • Problems with the pin to charge iPhone 5 in the car

There is a problem using the very nice cases BELKIN to protect the iPhone 5 and trying to charge the phone in the car. The adapter- pin provided by MAC is to big (square) and do not allow the pin enter in the phone. It sems like it was a miscommunication between Apple and the manufactures of  cases. The problem do not exist with the charger for home

    likely they were just guessing
when it comes to charging then the only! thing that matter is the volt level
if one charge a device which was made to charge by 5volts with 12Volts it's big trouble
    nothing else can give issues

  • Problem with MAC Pinning and new VLAN

[Cross posting to Nexus 1000V and UCS forums]
Hi all, I have a working setup of UCS 1.4 (3i) and Nexus 1000V 1.4 and as per the best practice guide am using 'channel-group auto mode on mac-pinning' on the Nexus uplinks. I am having trouble when adding a new VLAN into this environment, and it is a reproducable problem across two different installations.
I go through the usual VLAN creating process on the Nexus, the upstream network and within UCS itself. I create the new vethernet port profile and set it as an access port in the new VLAN. However when I attach a VM (either existing or new) to this new vethernet port profile within vCentre the VM cannot communicate with anything. However, if I disable MAC pinning with 'no channel-group auto mode on mac-pinning', the VM instantly starts to talk to the outside world and the new VLAN is up and running. I can then turn MAC pinning back on again and everything continues to work.
So the question is, is this behaviour normal or is there a problem? Disabling MAC pinning does have a brief interruption to the uplink so is not a viable long-term solution for the customer when they want to add new VLANs. Is there a way to add new VLANs in this scenario without any network downtime, however brief?
    Thanks

    Simon,
Let's gather some further outputs if you're able to recreate this (if this is prod, let me know and I'll whip this up in my lab).
Go through the process of setting up the new VLAN.  Once you confirmed your VM has no connectivity when using a PP tied to the new VLAN, gather the following outputs into a text file and attach to this thread:
    From the VSM:
    show vlan
    show int trunk
    show log last 15
module vem x execute vemcmd show vlan y (x = module of VEM where VM is running, y is the VLAN ID)
module vem x execute vemcmd show bd y (y = VLAN ID)
module vem x execute vemcmd show pc
module vem x execute vemcmd show port
module vem x execute vemcmd show pinning
module vem x execute vemcmd show trunk
From the CLI of UCS Interconnect:
    connect NXOS
    show vlan
    show int trunk
    Also please highlight or Identify:
    - Problem VLAN ID #
    - VM veth # in question (1000v)
    - vEth # for each Service Profile vNIC used for your VEM uplinks (UCS)
We'll start with this and work from here.   Once I have these outputs I'll let you know if I need anything else.
    Regards,
    Robert
(I'll keep this as the main thread, and update the 1000v forum once we resolve)

  • Problem with iPhone car cable

I have an Audi A4, which was supplied with a fitted iPhone cable, to allow charging of the phone and playing music. The new 3G phone works perfectly but the cable doesn't charge the phone anymore. Does anyone know if I can buy a converter? Audi don't seem to be able to help

The older car docks deliver power over the FireWire pins, which newer iPhone models cannot use. You need a charge converter.
