    System Spec:

AMD 6x 1055t @ 3.5ghz (but prob happened even at stock speeds)

    BFG GTX275oc

The digital temp readout on the mobo says one temp, and various monitoring programs say different temps (when they say anything at all...)
Is this a known bug?  I've had time when Core Temp said my cpu was running at 12c.  Do I have a defective temp sensor on the mobo, or CPU?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Glendor...

And the REALLY wierd part is that the problem just went away over the weekend...  Go Figure!
Didn't do anything, didn't change anything, just logged into the monitoring apps to write down some settings and noticed the Temps are registering, and show a remarkable similarity.  The only one that is still slightly wierd is the TMPIN2 that still shows a 63-65c reading.  Wish I knew what that was...

  • Problems with setting up LAN

Hi, newbie here need some help setting up my new KT4 ULTRA - FISR(MS-6590).
I am having problems getting my internet to work using the onboard LAN. I have installed all the drivers and the LAN is enabled in the bios. I have removed my ethernet card.
There is no response from the browser. I have switched off modem for 30 mins or so to have it reconfig itself but this hasnt helped yet. I am not sure whether there is some network settings which need adjusting, like line speed.
All help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.  )

    Hello,
There are a few things you can do to see if you modem/router is giving your NIC card an address.  First drop to a DOS prompt (start/run/command) type the following to see if your gettin an address.  IPCONFIG if your gettin anything other then 127.0.0.1 then at least your modem is "talking" to your network card.  IF you are not getting an address try making sure either..
A.) your using the correct type of lan cable since there are 2 you can use, 1. crossover, 2. straight through.
B.) make sure your TCP/IP settings have DHCP enabled, unless your using a Static IP address.
C.) if you are gettin anything other then 127.0.0.1.  Try un-installing any firewalling software you have.  It has worked for me in the past.
I dont know if any of this will help you.  But any information is good information these days.  Good luck i'll be watching this forum for now on.  Didnt know what I was missing!!

  • Having problems with wake on LAN ... does anyone else have this problem trying wake your mac remotely?

I've set my computer in system preferences to wake the computer from network, yet it doesn't seem to work.
Has anyone else tried to do this using a remote desktop and found any success?
I've even made a schedule for the computer to wake at a certain time, but if I try to log on remotely too late, the computer has already gone back to sleep ...
    any advice?

Me too. I thought iChat under SL or Lion would do it, but it will not wake up a remote mac with a request for screen control, or a video/ text request. Any ideas?

  • 890FXA-GD70 problems with 4 stick of ram

I just built a new rig around the 890FXA-GD70 MB and everything is going great except I have major stability problems with 4 sticks of Ram installed.  I purchased 4 sticks of G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 from Newegg.  The PC will boot fine with all 4 sticks installed and Windows 7 recognizes them but I have a lot of application crashes.  No BSOD so far but very frequent app problems.  Even the windows event viewer keeps crashing while trying to troubleshoot.  I removed two of the sticks and everything has been rock solid.  Anyone else successfully running 4 sticks in this board or have any suggestions to stabilize? I'm not trying to overclock anything at the moment.
    thanks,

I had similar issues with BSOD.  I thought it might be my RAM.  I tried all kinds of different settings.  Tested it in another system.  It worked flawlessly and passed all memtests.  I took that RAM and the RAM from the other system (a DELL from work) home.  Tried the Dell RAM out and no post.  Tried one stick in DIMM2 and it worked stably and then tried two sticks and it worked stably.  I then tried my memory (ADATA).  I got one BSOD, but ran several memtests and burnin tests over the next 5 or 6 hours.  No more issues.  SWEET.  Reinstalled windows.  Ran great for 4 or 5 days and then got more BSOD.  I contacted MSI support and on two separate occasions they suggested I RMA the board.  I returned the board and got a different one.  I've been happy since (no issues whatsoever).  I even bought two more sticks of RAM.  I'm just saying - maybe it's not your RAM.  I can't say for certain that the 890FXA-GD70 was defective.  It may just need more BIOS updates.  Frustrating to say the least.  I feel your pain.

  • Network problems with MSI 790FX-GD70

    Hi All
I have a problem with the onboard network cards.
It only works the first time from cold boot (when the powercable is completly disconnected from the PC, and LAN cable disconnected, turn on PC and then connect LAN cable)
If I shut it it down or restart the computer, then the LAN card disconnects, eg no lights active on either the pc nor the router. But if I do the procedure described above everything works ok again.
Same problem occours with both LAN ports.
    My system:
    MSI 790FX-GD70
    AMD 720BE
    4GB Corsair 1600mhz DDR3
    2x Asus HD4850 Crossfire
    2x Samsung t166 320GB HD
    Windows XP SP3
Tried 3 different routers but all with the same error. So everything points towards the motherboard.
    Please help.

If the LAN-card is disconnected I wonder if the LAN-card is "present" at all. Check Deceive Manager. Please give some PSU info. Problematic booting and falling out devices...
Also, please, what is your BIOS Version?  Make sure its 1.4 .
Drivers - have you downloaded the latest ones from MSI's site and installed them for the LAN card?
Man.. is it me, or have there been like 6-7 people coming up with similar LAN issues on this board?  I've never known an onboard NIC to have issues.

  • 890FXA-GD70 with Phenom II x6 1090T does not start anymore

    Hi all,
I have build my system with
CPU AMD Phenom II x6 1090T
    Mobo MSI 890FXA-GD70
    Memory 4Gb Kingston DDR3 1333
    HDDs 2 Seagate 500Gb

    PSU Cooler Master RealPower M620
Operating system Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits
the system ran fine until last saturday when I tried to start it the system did not repsond at all !!! I opened the case and saw that the debug display was flashing and shows FF and does not get any further. The HDD inside LED is also flashing opposite to the debug LED display.
Does anybody have the same problem and maybe a solution on how to start the system? I build the system about 1,5 weeks ago and after some initial trouble it ran fine.
Thansk a lot in advance for your replies

  • Msi 890fxa-gd70 posting problems

the problem started after i installed a new thermaltake frio cpu cooler, i installed it outside of the case on the box the motherboard came in. I get the splash screen but the keyboard wont respond and hangs at code 38 with a usb mouse and keyboard and one sata Hdd & dvd drive plugged in. if i remove the mouse and keyboard it goes to code 78 and hangs. if i remove the hdd & dvd drive it cycles through and tells me i have no boot device. i have tried different combinations and tryed moving the ram around, just 1 stick!. i have tried clearing the cmos throughout doing the different combinations. I have tried all the different sata ports for just the hdd, and i have tried all the different usb ports to try to get the keyboard to register, i did also try another known working usb keyboard. this motherboard has never been OC'ed this is a custom build computer for a friend so i only have limited time to keep messing around with combinations of hardware. the ram is tested and i also tried using one of my sticks from my rig with no luck. so here is the specs
    msi 890fxa-gd70 mobo - bios 1.6
AMD phen II 555 BE - no oc and no unlocked cores
    G. Skill rip jaws 1333 mhz cas 9
this rig was working perfect for 2 weeks before i tried to install the new HS, i already checked the pins on the cpu to make sure that i didnt damaged it. i always practice safe ESD rules and was wearing my bracelet. i was very careful when installing the new cooler and made sure it wasn't too tight of a fit, i have already done this before on my rig same mobo, cpu and cooler and had no problems with it. I am stuck in a corner and I am hoping to find some help out... Any suggestions? Please and Thank You in advance

i have tried that also, the main problem is that i cant get it past code 38 with an usb keyboard in it so that i can enter the bios. i can get it to cycle through and not hang, but that is without any keyboard or Hdd so im back at square one. i still need to try an PS/2 keyboard but finding one is actually harder than i thought it would be. this board hasn't have a bios update, it came with 1.6 already on it. its not even an month old yet. but thank you for an possible answer to this dilemma.

  • 890FXA-GD70 no post with PERC6i

    Per subject line; I have a 890FXA-GD70 which I can't get to post with a PERC6i card.
Board code FF and system restarts itself in a cycle. No video display. CPU phase 3 LEDs light up. 2 memory phase LEDs lit.
Remove PERC card; system posts fine & remains stable.
The PERC6i works fine in other systems (servers).
I know its not a desktop product but I've read other people's spec on other forums who've used this card successfully in this board.
I've disabled onboard Raid and all other I/O devices in the bios (v1.7). Next step is to contact MSI Tech Support but given the phase 3 CPU LEDs I'm wondering if there's a CPU setting in the bios I can adjust that might help or if there's anyone else who's had the same problem with this or another Raid card & resolved it??
    Spec:
    890FXA-GD70 (bios v1.7)
AMD Phenom X6 Thuban 1055T (not OC'd yet)
    2x4GB Gskill Ripjaws PC1333 (not OC'd yet)

    Where do you put it?
In any of the available PCI-E slots. The GPU takes up the first 2 slots (x16 & x1). I’ve yet to try moving the GPU to another slot but afaik the GPU needs to be in the first PCI-E slot in this board in order to work...correct me if I’m wrong.

Is it that card in particular or any card you put in?
This card in particular. I need it to run ESX4i. The card works fine in other systems.

I get allergic reactions from RipJaws and CoolerMaster. But surely they can't be the culprits this time.  :undecided
TBH I was unaware of issues with RipJaws & CoolerMaster PSUs. Need to research it more.

You could try with a single stick of memory with correct/manuf. recommended voltage.
    Tried with 1DIMM; same.
Using default voltages. I’ll check what voltage is recommended by Gskill.
Tks for the replies so far.

  • 890FXA-GD70 no boot with Razer Naga (on the latest 2 biosses)

With the 890FXA-GD70 I had no problems well still have no problems but if I run on either the latest bios 1.12 (1.C) or the one before that 1.11 (1.B) the mobo will hang on initialising USB controllers if you have the Razer Naga (and from what I heard other razer mouses as well). On the BIOS I'm running now 1.10 (1.A) I have no problems so I'm kind off wondering what you guys changed to the latests 2 BIOS that makes the motherboard unable to boot with the Razer mice.
If you need other info you can have it but as I'm sure this is not a hardware problem but a BIOS problem I doubt any other info would be of use to solving the problem.
I checked with multible power option (EuP/CPU Phase/DDR Phase/Cool & Quiet/C1E) but even with those disabled the motherboard still hangs on initialising USB controllers.
On Fail-safe defaults the motherboard also hangs on initializing USB controllers.
If I plug the mouse in after Windows has started the whole computer just freezes (on the 1.11 or 1.12 BIOS).
If I need to forward this to support do tell as it seems quite weird that 2 bios updates where nothing much has changed besides:
    1.11:
    - Update CPU AGESA code.
    - Update RAID option ROM.
    - Improved memory compatibility.
    1.12
    - Update CPU module.
Cause the BIOS/motherboard to hang on initialising usb controllers.

PSU has nothing to do with it, but it's a 1500W MaxRevo (Gold 94% efficiency).
    Processor is a Phenom II X6 1100T
Memory is also supported memory which is Kingston KVR1333D3N9 4x => 16GB
After I flash the BIOS I always clear the CMOS actually twice since the first time I try to save the BIOS options (AHCI=on and no bootlogo etc.) the system does not boot XD but that might be because I don't unplug the powercord while I clear the CMOS though the computer is completely turned off. After I clear the CMOS a second time it will be able to save the options and normally boot.
A CMOS clear shouldn't be required actually since the BIOS update (DOS-WAY) destroys the CMOS checksum doing the same as a CMOS clear except for keeping the date (all other BIOS options are reset).
For kicks I've tried the in the BIOS 1.12 (1.C) I've put the Razer Naga in the USB2 slot I normally put it on the back = no boot, USB3 slots = no boot, front panel USB = no boot. Hell the first thing I do is trying usb-ports or different ports if something does not work like the Adaptec Raid Cards in the EFI mobo's.
I've been in IT for like 6 years now and I've never had problems with my Razer mouse(s) as I had an Razer Imperator before the Razer Naga. The 790FX-GD70 motherboard I had never had problems with it (besides it dying of old age ;P). Apperantly since the latest update the mouse also works on the 990FXA-GD80 motherboards without problems in the BIOS anymore.
Like I said the weird thing to me is that it happens with the 1.11 (1.B) and the 1.12 (1.C) bios while the 1.10 (1.A) bios (which is the one I'm on now) works perfectly. Which in logical sence makes the next 2 biosses bad as something is programmed in there differently than the 1.A bios and cause the Razer Naga (and most likely other gaming mice with own firmware) to fail. This should not be that way seeing as the if the only thing that is added to the bios (from 1.A on) is better cpu support, more memory support and the raid option rom not that I'm into bios programming but if the code was continued from the previous bios code and not rewritten completly the motherboard would still boot with the Naga period.

  • Problem with Jabber and file transfers WAN - LAN-Users - a solution!

    Hi,
I read a lot of messages about problems with file transfers between iChat-Users, if one (or both) are behind a NAT.
I had this problem to and found an easy solution:
    My situation
iChat-Server behind a Netgear ProSafe FireWall. I opened the needed Ports including Port 7777 (the Port for the iChat-proxy (proxy65).
The iChat-Server is configured to host the domain "server.ourdomain.com" (as an example).
This address can be reached from the LAN and also from the WAN-side.
From the LAN-side the DNS redirects to 192.168.1.1, from the WAN this domain redirects to our official IP-address (the WAN-IP of the FireWall).
I tried nearly all kinds of mentioned solutions, but nothing helped.
The really easy solution is: I just added our official IP to the "Hosted Domains" in the iChat-section of Server-Admin.
After that change, the transfers are made via the proxy65 of iChat-Server. The transfers are shown in the log /private/var/jabberd/log/proxy65.log.
I think, that the other posters who also have this kind of problem are working in a similar setup (domain name of server is used from the LAN AND the WAN-side with different IP-addresses (LAN-IP & WAN-IP).
This solution will only work, if the WAN-IP is a fixed address.
