Problem with a particular site

Why won't this thing (Jetpack 5510L) get into this site?
http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5
This is the Lockheed Martin flight simulator site, it just takes forever to resolve the connection (if it ever does at all) and it's like molasses in January loading the pages once it does. Why? I don't have this problem with other sites?
Thanks,
Jim

I appreciate your replies guys. I tried the network-tools site and it blew right in instantly with a tracert of 9 hops. I then popped open a command window and ran a tracert from my own machine through the hotspot and it took 19 hops. What I noticed is that all the IPs are different when I run the tracert from the hotspot, look here:
Tracert run from network-tools site:

So I'm assuming the difference in those IPs are the problem, what is that about and why does the hotspot mask the IPs like that where the network-tools site doesn't? I guess given that Lockheed Martin is the world's largest defense contractor and it's probably vital to national security that their site be secure it would stand to reason that they might be using security techniques that most sites don't use. I spend a lot of time on flight simulator forums (I am an FS developer and also on the beta team for the Prepar3D sim) and someone usually throws up a post about it somewhere whenever there's a problem with one of the major FS sites. Avsim.net for example is always flakey and there are usually 2 or 3 threads a month on the various forums where someone is complaining about it. I can't remember ever seeing a thread about the Prepar3D site so I can only assume I'm the only one who has problems with it. Further it seems like once I finally get in I can usually surf around the forum without much trouble, it's like once the initial connection has finally broken through then data is allowed to flow almost normally.
I tried disabling IPv6 although I'm not sure if I did it right, I found it under Settings > LAN in the jetpack admin page. Is that the right setting? It rebooted the hotspot when I unticked the box but it didn't seem to change anything with regard to getting into the Prepar3D site so I put it back. Maybe I changed the wrong setting?
BTW I usually run the hotspot in "EDVO only" mode since it just seems to work better than "Automatic (4G LTE, CDMA) which was the default. Where I live I've seen 4G service only two or three times in the 3 years I've been on Verizon, those were all back when I was using the Samsung SCH-LC11 hotspot, I've never seen 4G (here) with this MiFi unit. I don't really have a problem with that as it's not advertised as a 4G service area according to the coverage map and in general the MiFi device has been quite a bit more reliable than the Samsung was. I have had the MiFi connected to my sister's laptop in town 5 blocks from the cell tower and seen 4G downloads at 3 MB/sec.
Thanks again for your replies.

  • Problems with one particular site

    Hi all,
I've noticed various posts where people mention they can't get on one specific website and I've always wondered why that could be, but it's never happened to me ... till now.
I can't get on this one, www.beestonlightingcompany.co.uk (and .com) who is one of my new clients. I've tried everything I can think of, I've emptied caches and cookies, I've deleted prefs, rebuilt permissions, reset my modem and router (even tried direct to the modem, no router) released and refreshed my DHCP connection - the lot. No joy.
The fact that I can't see the site on either of my Macs in any browser (Safari, Opera, Netscape, Explorer, Firefox, etc.,) seems to suggest to me there's either a system thing happening here or something up with my router, though like I said even taking that out of the loop didn't help.
Also all the other clients I have websites for are hosted at the same place and I can see those fine. I can also ping beestonlightingcompany with no trouble and I can get to it using CaptainFTP for uploading. And my client can see the site at both addresses using his PC - fortunately, be a big problem if he couldn't! I suspect anyone here who tries it will get to it too ... it's just me. Wierd.
Any ideas anyone? This is really bugging me!

    Thing --
That site works fine for me.
So, maybe try these and get back to us, OK?
Have you done these? Do these one at a time, and then restart and retest Safari after each one.
    1. Empty your cache & History settings via the Safari menu
    2. Trash your Icons Folder:
    HD>Users>Home>YourName>Library>Safari -->Icons
Restart Safari and a new folder will be automatically regenerated.
(This folder saves favicons of all the sites you visit. Needs cleaning periodically -- or you can change that file's preferences to "Read Only"
rather than "Read & Write." This will keep it from growing in size.)
    3. Launch Font Book and check all fonts for duplicates. A duplicated font will have a bullet beside the font family and you can resolve duplicates by selecting the font and at the menu bar, go to Edit > Resolve Duplicates.
Do this for each font with a bullet next to it.
    If you're still having problems:
    4. Shut down your computer . . . unplug the computer, modem, and router, if you have one. Let everything sit for 2-3 minutes. Plug everything back in, start up your modem & router, then restart your computer.
Do you have internet apps SpeedDownload, iGetter, PithHelmet, Acid Search, Safari Enhancer ? Or Norton or Virex? Sometimes non-apple internet apps need updating or uninstalling. If you do, let us know which ones and which version, please.
    Hope this helps

  • Safari trouble with one particular site

I have a problem with safari when I use one particular website (www.itsagoal.com)
I've noticed that it is the website in particular that may be at fault. The website is www.itsagoal.com and what happens is that the built in clock for that website goes mentally fast. Although I noticed this issue before under 10.4.5, it was never a problem. It didn't affect scrolling, or the fans or anything. It was purely just an asthetic bug. However, now, under 10.4.8 (using safari I must add) it really is a problem.
Everything is fine at the site, until you enter a forum thread. Then the time goes crazy. You can do this without needing to login, here http://www.itsagoal.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?id=9D9B62088B9CBF508BBBAB 0785D7BA4F
Could somebody please visit those pages and confirm a few things for me.
    1. That the time (which is top left of the screen) is fine on any non forum page.
    2. That the time does indeed go crazy.
    3. Are there any experts amongst you that have seen this before and perhaps know what the problem is with the site?
    Many thanks
    iLee
p.s. How do I go about debugging this myself so that I can let the developer of the site know whats happening?
Edit: In firefox (and Camino), the time only updates when changing pages and is not a problem at all.

    Hi iLee
yes, the clock runs fast for me too using Safari.
What actual problems does it cause you?
If you enable the Debug menu via Terminal or some third part utility. Then use the User-Agent menu item & set it to "MSIE6" ....... this tells the webpage we're using Internet Explorer 6; and seems enough to get the clock behaving normally. Works for me.

  • Network problem with one particular iMac in a home network

I want to report a problem involving one particular iMac (2008 Al 24").
On my home network (Apple Airport Extreme and Express extensions, about five Macs and couple of iDevices), all other Macs can see and connect to each other as well as printing to the networked Brother printer without problem.
However, on one particular iMac, I can see all other Macs, can set Brother printer as default with green dot next to it in Print Preference Pane, but I can not connect to other macs, nor print to the printer. Meanwhile, the iMac can get on the internet without any problem. I checked Share Preference Pane and all settings are same as other macs.
The iMac used to work flawlessly until recently, and I first noticed the problem because I could not print, getting a message the printer can not be found (and the dots turn yellow for a while then went back to normal green). Then, I found neither the iMac, nor other macs on the network can connect to each other, even though I can see all of them in Finder.
I opened Apple Remote Network on my own mac, and I can see and connect all other shared macs, but this iMac's status showed not online, even though the IP adress is valid. As a results, no other macs can connect to the iMac, either. It seems to be a problem with the intranet only, not internet.
One more thing, about a month ago, the iMac popped out a warning about network name, saying the old name was in use (conflict) in the network, so I have to change it in Share Pane. Not sure if this is related to the intranet problem.
Reboot and repaired permission several times, no change. Hate to reinstall everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Another update:
For unknown reason, my iMac was suddenly back onto the home "intranet". It can be accessed by my MacBook Air through Finder Connect, and can also be seen by Apple Remote Desktop.
However, printing is still a problem while other macs have no problem printing to the same printer. Whenever I send a print task, either Word document, or other programs such as GraphicConverter image, the iMac tried to connect to the default printer, but failed, and wanted to try again in 30 seconds 9and continued to fail). Meanwhile, the green dot next to the printer selection turned to yellow in Preference Pane. But as soon as I cancel the print job, the printer status went back to normal green.
The printer is a Brother color laser HL-4070CDW, connected through wireless (g only), with it own DHCP but specific IP address. I printed out a setting for the printer and all looks normal, and all other macs can print to it without problem. Other macs can also get access to the printer profile, and check inks copy counts, etc, but the iMac cannot.
Only thing changed since last post was a new update for Apple Airport firmware (to 7.5.2 I think). So my problem is still half solved: can connect to other macs on the same network, but still not be able to print.

  • Problem with creation of site (SMWP)

    Hi All
I am currently working on SAP SRM 7.0 , middleware settings for master data replication from SAP ECC to SRM.
I am facing a strange issue. when I try to create a site for backend ECC system in transaction SMWP. When I click on site attributes for typr R/3 and give the ECC RFC destination , system throws an error "Logical System is not defined in target system".
I have checked multiple times in ECC and SRM ALE settings where logical system for SRM and ECC is correctly defined. There seems to be no problems with RFC connections  also in both ECC and SRM as I am able to remote log in.
Kindly let me know what could be the possible reason for this issue

    Hi Nikhil
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have already checked this blog although I have doubts with my system Landscape definition.
While defining system landscape in "SPRO-> SRM Server-> Technical Basic settings->Define System Landscape" there are two attributes System Lanscape Directory Name and system Type. I might have put wrong information here.
Can you plz let me know what do you put in these fields? Is this information provided by BASIS team during installation?

    Hello,
First, sorry for my very poor English
    I have a Linksys WRT610N with firmware  1.00.03 B15 (latest I think)
Last three days I have trouble connecting to a single website. This site is www.bdgest.com
I can access all other sites I want, but that one is very difficult to access, very slow with timeouts and error 404 messages.
When I connect to my modem with a cable, everything is OK. If I connect with a cable or wifi to the Linksys router, the access is weak. The problem is not my PC because I have the same problem with my I-Pod touch.
I don't made any change to the Linksys configuration.
    Can somebody help me ?

  • Firefox-only connection problems with some SSL sites network-wide

I recently starting experiencing problems with sites not loading in Firefox with the error "Connection was interrupted". I've consistently seen this problem trying to load accounts.google.com. The problem exists in both versions 3.6.26 (OS X 10.4 latest available) and 10.0.1 (Windows XP/7/server2k3). In every single case, other browsers on the same system (Safari, various IE versions) can load the same URLs just fine.
I've already verified no proxy (FF and working browsers, all OSes), disabled ipv6 and preteching in network.dns, disabled all add-ons, deleted existing profiles, cleared cache, and cleared recent history. Existing articles suggest disabling DNS prefetch,

Nope. Settings are default as far as I can tell. Validate a certificate if it specifies an OCSP server is selected, connection-fails-invalid is not checked.
I resolved the issue after talking to my ISP - there was a DNS caching issue and I was getting an invalid IP for ocsp.thawte.com - but the behavior seems buggy. The OCSP server connection WAS failing (with a timeout) and per Fiddler FF just keeps issuing repeat OCSP requests before eventually giving up with the interrupted connection error. The "When an OCSP server connection fails" option doesn't seem to do what it says in this case; prior to getting the DNS issue fixed the only solution was to disable OCSP completely.
Perhaps the problem is that the OCSP connection timed out rather than being refused or unresolvable, but recognizing multiple timeouts as a connection failure might be more user-friendly.

  • Problem with some virtual sites and WebDAV

I have a handful of virtual sites on a snow leopard server that have WebDAV turned on to allows the owners of the site to update them. Things were working fine until this weekend when a site owner informed me he has having problems. I use Dreamweaver CS4 to edit sites and when I set them up, I add my admin account to the WebDAV realm allowed to Read/Write and update the site. I confirmed the problem that the owner was having and had the same problem with WebDAV on that site. I quickly checked several others and found that some work fine while others give me an error. Here is the error message I get from Dreamweaver.
I checked the log files for the site and received no useful information. I also looked in /var/log for any entries with WebDAV (grep -i webdav *), and again get no useful information. I tried setting up a new site and got the same error. One thing that I did notice is that the site did not have it's ownership changed to _www and the other sites were and get a feeling that might be part of this. Changing the ownership of all files and directories to _www did not fix the problem.
I'm mystified as to why it works for some sites and not others and am not sure where to go to debug this issue and get it working again.
DNS seems to be OK on the server.
    minime:~ admin$ sudo changeip -checkhostname
    Password:
    Primary address     = 207.65.119.2
    Current HostName    = minime.theporch.com
    DNS HostName        = minime.theporch.com
The names match. There is nothing to change.
    dirserv:success = "success"
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

I'm also having the same issue. I have a feeling its related to a problem with spaces and Java, assuming that the "Top Sites" is generated with some Java application.
Maybe Septembers OSX update will help.

  • Problems with loading certain sites

    Hello there,
I'm using Safari 1.3.2 /v312.6) under OS X 10.3.9 on a G4 machine. Since a few weeks, my Safari causes troubles in loading certain sites. For example: www.Gemm.com and then: advanced search. This won't load! I found out, that it will load, when I disable 'Javascript' in the Safari preferences. The same problem occures with some other sites, but try the GEMM one as an example if you want. The Javascript is up to date, however only actualized with Apple's software update and never using any other resources. Other browsers, as Camino or Opera 9 are working fine. Could anyone give me an advice, what to do? Thanks for your reply.
    G4 and G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I was actually coming in to post the same question but mine is slightly different.
One of my sites will not display correctly in Safari on any of our computers. I have two sites that work fine but when I try to view www.pokerplasm.com in Safari it doesn't display correctly at all. Unlike the previous post disabling javascript does not help at all. When viewed in Safari the site that usually is well formatted, etc. when viewed in FireFox, Explorer, etc. displays as a solid brown page with the normally formated text spread across it as just broken up text and separated by lines of numbers. Banners that are usually located on the right side of the screen are moved into the main body text and placed at the bottom [or not displayed at all], and any links to forums, etc. are not shown at all.
Does anyone know why Safari doesn't display these sites correctly. We validated the site last night thinking that may help, but it made no difference.
Thanks for your help on this.

  • Problem with Gmail, Adobe site, Opera, Safari...

    Hi guys,
Hope you can help me asap.
I have installed OSX Mountain Lion few minutes ago, but I have a lot of problems...
1.) I cannot access Gmail in Opera (opera web browser) - I have the latest version, also trying reinstall it. It just says:
    Secure connection: fatal error (49)
    https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&cont inue=http://mail.google.com/mail/&scc=1<mpl=default<mplcache=2
The certificate is valid, but permission denied.
I know, Opera isn't the best web browser, but because of my work, I need to use atleast 2 web browsers together... so I use Opera and Safari.
Never before had this problem with Opera.
2.) I cannot acces some sites on Safari... For example adobe.com (and it works in Opera...)
For example I cannot access adobe site:
Safari can't connect to this server
Safari can't open the page "http://www.adobe.com/ because Safari can't connect to the server "www.adobe.com".
    Please help me.
    Thanks,
    Filip

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.

  • Problems with all Adobe sites + Dreamwaver install

    Hi
Sorry to post here - the first half of this topic is general,
    the second half is Dreamweaver.
    1. I have been having loads of problems with Adobe websites
    a. could not get into Dreamweaver Trial download page because
my IP was blocked and I am no spammer!
I had to disguise my IP in order to download it - it seems
they do not want my money!
    2. Now in the forums, anything I search I get a error:
Error Occurred While Processing Request Variable
    FTVAR_RESULTTYPE is undefined. Resources:
    * Enable Robust Exception Information to provide greater
detail about the source of errors. In the Administrator, click
Debugging & Logging > Debug Output Settings, and select the
Robust Exception Information option. * Check the ColdFusion
documentation to verify that you are using the correct syntax. *
Search the Knowledge Base to find a solution to your problem.

It looks like they have a problem with Firefox 3.0.5 ?
Also sometimes pages do not load, I get a blank page, the F5
    and it loads!
    DREAMWEAVER
I have 'tried' to install CS4 (I do have MX2004 (time to
upgrade!) and I got a 'Found Trojan Horse Crypt.CFR' from AVG!
    So, I have now stopped.
Since I cannot search the forum I had to open a topic.
    Sorry again.
    Any idea?
    Regards all ...

  • Problems with Safari Loading Sites and Photos

For the past week (Feb. 2015) I've experience problems with Safari loading websites on my 2009 20" iMac desktop. Running version OSX Lion 10.7.3  4 GB.   Intel Duo Core 2.66 GHz
Mac also will frequently not upload photos at websites like Yahoo News or Facebook.   It does this throughout the day.
So, I downloaded Chrome, thinking it would be a better browser if Safari is not functioning.  Chrome is just slightly better, and when it won't load a website I get the following error message from Chrome: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET.
I'm debating taking the Mac to the Apple store for diagnosis or repair today, but if anyone else is experiencing similar problems, could you please offer some solutions as to what is going on.
    Thank you.

Non-responsive DNS server or invalid DNS configuration can cause long delay before webpages load - Apple Support
Unless you have a good reason not to, you should update the OS to version 10.7.5.
