Problem with Acrobat 8 Pro on a WIN 7 64bit system

I have installed Acrobat 8 Pro and my Win 7 64bit machine and am having trouble printing web pages to pdf
but can find no exact reason why the just hang in the spooler just saying they encountered an error.
Any help with that?

The updates may resolve the issue. To update you may have to go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/ to get the updates and install them in order.

  • Problem with Acrobat X Pro 10.1.1 update (multiple installs)

I updated my Acrobat X Pro to version 10.1.1 when first notified of the update. Since then I have been constantly bombarded with new updates are ready to install from the auto update downloader. I was fooled the first time when it re-installed the 10.1.1 update. In all I've now installed this same update at least 4 times trying to get rid of the update messages, but I'm still getting bombared with them. Something is wrong with this last update. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Anyone know how to stop this insanity? When I manually check for updates in Acrobat, it also says there are updates available. Thanks.

Are you sure that Updater is trying to update Acrobat? What is the title of the Updater dialog?
Do you have Reader installed? There is an issue with Updater where on the systems with 2 Readers of the same major versions, User gets prompted to update again.
If you have 10.0.x Reader and 10.1.x Reader, you might be it.
The fix is to uninstall all Readers and install latest one - should take about 20 minutes.
If that does not help, search Forums for AdobeARM.exe and how to enable verbose logging for updater, than check for updates and provide AdobeARM.log file - I'll try to see what is wrong.
    Good luck.

  • Serial number problem with Acrobat 9 Pro

I removed Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro from a workstation and determined later that I didn't have the CDs with the serial number to reinstall.  I did not check the option for it to remove the serial number when I unisntalled so I am hopeful that it is stored somewhere in the registry.  I have looked there myself but haven't seen anything in the obvious places.  Does anyone know where the serial number is stored?
    Thanks!!

Yeah, sorry should have mentioned that.  It wasn't registered.  We don't have the receipt for Adobe to look it up too.
Sorry. Sounds like you just threw your money away.

  • Font problem with Acrobat 8 Pro

When I print to pdf using Acrobat 8 Pro, I find that the fonts don't always look the same in the created pdf file as they do in the original document (whether created in Pages or Word). They look a little squished or altered slightly in a way that isn't as smooth as the original. And I'm not even using rare fonts but ones like Arial.
However when I open these pdf files in Preview the fonts look the same as the original. And when I open them in Reader on a PC they still look as bad as when viewing in Acrobat on the Mac.
I've tried adjusting the settings in Distiller and have printed the pdf files using a high quality setting that embeds all fonts and still the fonts come out looking not quite right.
This has been very frustrating to me as I never had this type of problem when using Acrobat on Windows before. The pdf files always came out exactly like the original source document. Is there something different about Acrobat on a Mac or is there a setting or something else I can fix?
    I'm running OS X 10.5.4 on a Macbook Pro.

Have you checked the font embedding inside File / Properties / Fonts /?
Are they set to embed or not since High Quality DOES embed the fonts ...

  • Shared review problems with Acrobat X Pro

I have used Acrobat X Pro many times to create a shared review without any problems. Yesterday I went to share a few files for review and kept getting the error "could not save the shared review enabled pdf file." I googled this problem and have tried all suggestions I could find, but none really worked. I deleted and recreated the PDFs and eventually got 3 of the 4 documents to send (I have ABSOLUTELY no idea how) but can't get the last one to send. I keep getting the same error. I tried deleting and re-installing Acrobat. The file is not in the same location as my server. The only difference from the other 3 documents is the content. They were all generated the same way (SmartPDF in Altium). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any tip or solution anyone, please?

  • Problem with Acrobat XL Pro

    Hi,
I have Creative Cloud for teams (one year membership). I used the free trials first and downloaded the programs I needed afterwards. InDesing and Photoshp work normally but now I can´t open/use Acrobat XL Pro.
I always get this notice that my trial time is over and I should register the program but when I use the serial number I have, the program doesn´t accept it. What can I do to make this XL Pro work?
    BR. Johanna

Jodua have you removed Acrobat XI Professional and reinstalled using the installation files you received with your purchase?  Alternately if you have a Creative Cloud membership Acrobat XI Professional is currently included.  For information on how to install the Adobe Creative applications included with your membership please see Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

  • Install and setup problem with Acrobat XI pro

I have downloaded the Acrobat XI Pro trial program, with no error messages. When I clisk on "setup.exe" the following error message appears, see screen shot :
"This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exixts and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windose Installer patch package"

Searched for and found the install folder and have tried install by clicking on"setup.exe".  Have not tried a fresh download, did the MSI logging, see next reply.

  • Installation problems with Acrobat XI Pro

How do I install Acrobat XI Pro on my MacBook Air? I constantly get the message "installation failed".

    What type of download?
Did it have ending of .dmg (pronounced Dim-edge)?
    Or .exe (execute)?
If .exe you've downloaded the wrong version, Mac are based on FreeBSD UNIX any files end .exe is a foreign object.
    If that not the Issue.
    Try redwnloading the installer.
    Now that you have redowloaded
Restart the Computer in SafeMode (Hold shift key down while restarting computer)
After Progress bar disappears and your asked to sign with your username and password and finished load then try the installer.

  • Problems with Acrobat 9 Pro

I have Acrobat 9 Pro. All of a sudden, it no longer creates PDFs. Is Adobe no longer supporting this?
I uninstalled and reinstalled the program. No luck. (It still reads PDFs though).
If I upgrade to Acrobat XI, will that enable me to create PDFs?
I don't also have to buy a monthly subscription, do I?

    Hi Cynthia,
You should be able to create PDF's through Acrobat 9  as the functionality has not been taken off .
On other hand , you can surely upgrade to ACrobat pro XI and that will surely lets you create the PDF's as well . To buy a prepetual license or a subscription would be upto you as you will have the option for either . Please use the link mentioned below to find out the pricing structure.

  • Rights problem with Acrobat X pro and Windows 8.1

We have bought a CS6 creative suite, including acrobat X. If we use the acrobat X in cooperation with windows 8.1, then we cannot delete or amend files without needing to save them under another name ....
If we install the try out of acrobat XI, then we don't have these problems ....

    Hello,
Yes we have done all updates that were still pending.
After a few day, the acrobat XI gives the same problems ... so I uninstalled the XI try-out and installed the bought X pro version again .... also here all updates have been done ...We really don't know how to solve this ..
We had the same configuration on a Windows XP and a Windows 7 pc, and there all went without these issues.
I also have another Laptop with the same configuration Windows 8.1 + XI pro, and there we also don't have the issue ....

  • Problems with acrobat 9 pro install

My PC will not read my install disc.  while trying to install acrobat 9.0 pro.  an suggestions?

Not to solve your problem, but some things to check:
    1. Is the CD scratched or dirty?
    2. Have you tried to copy it on a separate system, or at least read it? I think that the EULA allows one backup, but you can check that. If you can copy it, then you could try to install it from the backup.
    3. Are you sure your CD ROM is good? It may be out of calibration or such. That was the purpose of makeing the backup on another machine, in case the CD and the CD ROM do not match well.
If it is scratched, your only solution may be to try to get another one from where you purchased the CD. Just in case, it is always good practice to not put your hands on the CD surface, treat them just like you would old LP records (OK, a lot of folks abused those too, but true LP fans only handled them by the edges).
At least this may give you some things to consider, not necessarily solutions as I said.

This is a 3D question - I don't see how to post to a better thread position.
I have Pro Extended 9.2 installed.
Attempting to make a PDF from a DXF file created by DesignBuilder crashes Acrobat.
Found and attempted to install 3D Update Ac9ExDupd.exe - fails with "No qualifying products found..."
Where is the complete reference on creating PDF from DXF?

  • Problem installing Acrobat Reader Pro in Mavericks

Acrobet keeps crashing and I get "configuration error 16." I have deinstalled and reinstalled, but still doesn't work. I'm working on a new MacBook Air 11" with Mavericks and this is a first installatoin. I had no problem on my old MacBook Air 13" also with Mavericks.

Thank you for the reply. I'm afraid I was unclear - it's a problem with Acrobat XI Pro, not Acobat Reader. My mistake. The link you provided was just for Reader. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.
