Problem with ADE 2.0, Nook Color

We're having problems with an ePub exported from InDesign CS6 (v8.0.1). It seems to crash on Nook Color (
Nook Color Model BNRV200 Software Version: 1.43), Adobe Digital Editions v2.0 (both Mac and Windows), and the culprit may be black & white TIF files that InDesign exports as .PNG files. Has anybody seen anything like this before? Crash reports follow, for those that can use them; I can add complete crash dumps if needed:

I have seen errors not quite the same, but maybe related.
Random (as far as I have identified) books will not work on my Bookeen Opus.
Sometimes the book just won't display, sometimes the Bookeen jumps back to a higher level menu, and a couple of times the Bookeen crashed completely.
Being a much more basic device than your Nook, it doesn't give any details about what it thinks the error is.
I've never been that keen on any of the books involved, so just moved onto another book.
Next time I find one I'll have a look and see if it could be related.

Problems with ADE and the Nook

I've encountered an interesting issue with the ADE and the Nook. ADE dumps the titles in the root directory, which the Nook is unable to see. I have to manually move the "Digital Editions" folder as a subfolder into the Nook's "my documents" folder. It's more of an annoyance than anything else, but is there a workaround so that when one drags and drops the book title, it is copied into the right directory?

Only if you can find the book!!!!! ADE has 300+ of my books.....too bad I can't even get the from any library on ADE.

Problem with programmatically control histogram color

Hi,
I'm developing a function to display multiple channel histogram. But I can not programmatically control the color. I use XY graph to display, and there's no problem with other type of plots.

Y 70-70 screen : problems with the black and white colors

Hi all, I just bought a Lenovo Y70-70 and already encountered several problems with the screen :- I had to change the notebook twice because of clearer zones on the black and because of dead pixels- The model I have now still presents irregularities in the black : if the screen is black, I can still see a few clearer zones on it, especially (but not exclusively) on the edges- concerning the white, I am a bit disappointed too : this color present zones that are sometimes ok, sometimes more yellow. Even if it is subtle, I nevertheless particularily see this effect when reading or typing, due to an optical effect that amplifies the phenomenom when text is displayed which tires my eyes. I also see it on colors like beige or grey. As I use this computer to play but also to work, it is uncomfortable. What I would like to know is if these problems are inherent to the screen, or if it is a defect. What should I do ? Did other people encounter the same problems ? I didn't find any setting to improve it. Installation of Mavericks is the culprit here. Lightroom versions 4.4 and earlier are not fully compatible with OS 10.9.x. There will be no more updates to Lightroom version 4.x so the only fix is to upgrade Lightroom to 5.0 or later or reinstall an older OS on Mac.

There can be several things that could effect your issue. If you are using a color calibration device, it may change your white balance. Check and verify that you really are using pure white when filling, a value of 255, 255, 255 thats red, green, and blue. Check and see what color mode you are in, are you in 8 bit, 16 or 32 bit. Are you in RGB, CMYK, or other color mode.
I am sure there are a few other things, that I haven't thought of at the moment that can effect your issue.
The next question is what do you mean by black and white? or should I say how did you make it that way. Was it already a black and white (grayscale)? or did you convert it in photoshop and if so how. The reason I ask is there are more than one way to convert a color image to black and white and how you do it will effect the final outcome.

Are you writing of problems with the image displayed on your screen? Anyway that you can post a screenshot (to make a whole screenshot, hold down the Shift, Command and 3 keys at the same time). Upload your screenshot using the camera icon in the composition bar above.

Problem with adjusting both transparency and color of an object

I am writing a program where when an object is picked, both it's transparency and color will be altered (the object will become opaque, and its color will turn to a predefined "selected" color), while the previously selected object will return to its original transparency and color. I am able to get this to work, except that objects that were picked two or more picks ago will remain in the selected color, albeit in their original transparency. This problem only seems to occur when transparency is factored in. The picking/color & transparency altering code is as follows.

A Behavior is the preferred way to make changes in a scenegraph. Here is an example from a previous post that changes the appearance of a shape when it collides with another shape.
The javadoc for javax.media.j3d.Behavior appears to refer to the issue you have.
Transparencies are confusing, different display adapters deal with them differently. Suggest you search the forum at

Problem with Epson 2400. No color management settings

All of a sudden when I try to print from Aperture (or Photoshop) and I select "Print Settings," the window that opens only shows Printer and Presets. There is no third menu for Color Management or Print Settings — which are crucial to my printing.
I have downloaded and installed the latest Epson driver for Leopard. Still I can't get the full menus.
(No trouble on G4 PB with Tiger)

Problem with changing calenders and reminders colors

Hello,
Somehow the colors of my two of four calendar just changed them self. I've four calendar:
Day Off (mark in yellow), Home (mark as purple), Work (mark as blue) and School (mark in green).
The two calendar of Home and Work swap their color so Home is mark in blue and Work as purple.
I've tried to change it colors many time, tried difference ones two but it keep turning back. Only this two calendar infected.
Same problem in reminder. it keep turning orange from purple.
All attemps in iPhone and in iCloud.com failed.

even "increment and decrement" buttons of JScrollbar are getting updated with "Button.background" colorWhen you invoke the updateComponentTreeUI() method I believe the code updates the properties of components that use the UIResource interface. The default Colors for components use the ColorUIResource class. See [url http://www.camick.com/java/blog.html?name=uimanager-defaults]UIManager Defaults.
So to prevent a component from being changed you need to replace the ColorUIResource with a Color class for the buttons in question.
You might be able to use Darryl's [url http://www.camick.com/java/blog.html?name=swing-utils]Swing Utils class. You can use the class to get all the JButton components used by the scrollbar. Then for each button you could replace the background by using code like:
button.setBackground( new Color(button.getBackground().getRGB(), true) );

Problems with ADE 4.0.2 - eBooks are not visible

Hallo,
i've installed the latest ADE-Version 4.0.2.
After installation i've deauthorisied and re-authorisied my computer with my AdobeID. I got the Information that the Authority was successful.
But the AdobeDigitalEdition Programm doesn't show my eBooks anymore. All of my eBooks are located in the C:\User\...\Documents\My Digital Editions - Folder. And If i drag and drop my eBooks to the main window of the ADE i get the message: "The document can be added, because it is already available at the library". But the Book doesn't come up at the ADE-mainwindow.
The next Problem is, that i haven't got access to my Kobo-Reader reader. The Reader exists under the rubric device, but if i open the reader ADE breaking off and shut down and show a messag: "ADE has got no solution for the problem."
Please, can anybode help my?

I just compile a kernel with gcc4 and the archck7 patch. I crapped out on the module for my DVB card but I hardly use it anyway so I just disabled it and it compiled cleanly. I'm going to take a closer look at that error when I get some free time but for now, it's given me a working kernel at least

Printing problem with the HP LaserJet 100 color MFP M175

I have recently upgraded to Windows 8. When running Windows 7, I could print as may documents from Word or Excel as I wanted. Now, with Windows 8, I can only print one document. When I try to print another, the program freezes. The only way I can print another document is to restart the computer. Any ideas?

Apple TV problem with video artifacts and pixel color changes

I noticed that in the most recent software update on my Apple TV there is quite a bit of pixel noise on the screen. In dark colors of the picture they really show up, bright green and white dots appear...random pixels that I thought at first my plasma was going, but I paused a movie the other night on my Apple TV and the Pixels also Paused, so I know it's the Apple TV and it does not occur on any other programming inputs. It was fine till the last Software update so I am thinking something is wrong with that update.

Video should work regardless of the wifi card you are using. Whay exactly is happening when you say video won't work.
You can use network utility (in your Utilities folder) to learn more about the network capabilities of your mac.

Problems with using the 'Dip to Color' dissolve

On a short project we decided to use the dip to color dissolve. We wanted the scene to desolve to white and selected the color without problems, however, on applying the dissolve it goes to white as intended but then dissoleves to black halfway through the transition. We should like this to stay white and then fade to the the next scene from white.
Any suggestion would be welcome.

Well too me it looked ok, but I have now adopted a work around - by using opoacity over a white background on a lower track which produced the desired result.
