Problem with Adobe Fill-In Forms

We currently have some filled in Adobe forms created in Acrobat X residing on our website.  Apparently some end users cannot see all the information from whatever browser they are using.  I am asking if there is a way to convert the fillable form to a standard PDF, which would then be more compatible.  We tried flattening the form; however, on questions where there are multiple check boxes, all the boxes became checked on the fly.  Therefore, not seeing this option as a solution.

Some browsers like Chrome and FireFox do not handle PDF forms.
Macintosh's Preview damages forms.
Mobile device apps may or may not handle a form and if they do there is limited JavaScript support.
You need to have all the users use Adobe Reader on there computer. This may mean that they need to configure their browser to use Adobe Reader and the built-in browser.

  • Problem with saving filled-in form

    I downloaded an official state form and after filling out the required fields saved it.  When I retrieved the document, the filled in data appeared for an instant then disappeared.  I have previously downloaded forms from this State site and filled in the fields, saved the document and then retrieved it without a problem.  Now whenever I pull up a document.pdf the once filled-in fields vanish.
    I have not changed any settings on the Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional application that is being used to save and then retieve the document.  I am using XP Professional with SP2 and all other updates.
    Can anyone explain why the filled in form does not stay filled in when retrieved and how to fix it so it will not happen again?

    The form may be set to clear the fields when opening. There are various reasons folks select this option, but it is likely the problem.

  • Problems with unrestricted fill in forms

    i am using OpenOffice to create a fill in form. the security is wide open as i want folks to be able to fill in and save the form.
    with Preview on Mac OS X, this is working fine, i can save and then reopen and the fields are filled in. With Adobe Reader on OS X (9.4.3 and 10.0.1 have both been tried), i can fill in but am being told i can't save the form.
    if i fill in and save a form with Preview, then open it with Reader, the filled in fields only become visible when i select them. haven't explored any further, but this sure seems like a bug somewhere.

    The bug is with Preview. It has rather limited support for PDF forms and in fact corrupts them when it is used to save them, as indicated above. It's crazy that PDF forms have been available since Acrobat 3 but that Apple cannot (or refuses to) get it right.     Adobe introduced usage rights quite a while ago (Acrobat 5.1?). They unlock features normally not available in Reader, such as saving a filled-in form. Non-Adobe software is free to do whatever it wants as far as editing and saving a PDF, even ignore the security restrictions. Some do allow more than Adobe Reader, such as FoxIt Reader, which allows saving a filled-in form and adding annotations.

  • Continued problems with Adobe Reader 9.3.1

    Adobe Reader stops at the half-way mark in the progress block when loading a form to print.  Cannot get this fixed. Does anyone out there have a fix for this.  Is Adobe even recognizing that there is a problem with this.  Error message keeps telling me that there is a problem with Adobe Reader, exit and try again.

    I haven't been able to print any .pdf files since I downloaded 9.3.
    My message says Internet Explorer has closed it down because of data executable files.  I've changed my DEF settings to allow

    We are getting the following error "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)" and a gray screen appears (Image not viewable) with multiple users. We are using Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05) and (11.0.06). The current workaround is to log off the website and log back in. Once the user logs back in, the pdf will appear. However it occurs anywhere from 2-8 times in a day. Anyone else having this issue or know of another workaround? Any suggestion with how to fix? Please help!!

    Please let me know the version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader & operating system installed on your computer?
    Also, try this:-
    Launch Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
    From the menu, choose Edit -> preferences -> General
    Uncheck the option for "Enable Protected Mode at startup"
    Restart the Adobe Reader and web browser.

    You must have a Mac.  Try this.
    Quit Bridge, from user library (NOT system and root library) preferences folder find and delete the com.adobe.bridge5.plist file manual. Do this also in same user library caches folder (Caches/Adobe/Bridge CS6) and inhere find and the folder called 'cache' and drag it to the trash.
    restart Bridge holding down option key and choose reset preferences, then try again.

    I am having problem with Adobe Speedgrade CS6 on my Windows 7 machine with the following specs:

    750GB primary hard drive (Seagate ST3750528AS)
    2 - 2TB secondary hotswap drives

    Adobe Speedgrade 6.0.4x25
    It takes almost 3 minutes to open and when it does open it is slow to respond. After trying to troubleshoot it through driver updates, etc., I have done a totally clean reinstall of Windows 7, updated drivers where applicable, and disabled all malware and antivirus protection to rule out interference.  I have also tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it.  I have also applied the latest update through the program interface. The other components of the suite I have installed are:
    Premiere Pro CS6
    After Effect CS6
    Acrobat XI
    Audition
    Bridge
    Photoshop (32-bit and 64-bit versions)
    Lightroom 4.3
    Prelude
    The other components, including Premiere and After Effects open fine with no problem. I would appreciate any assistance with this problem that might be offered, as I am frustrated and stumped.  Thanks in advance!

  • Communication problem with Adobe 9.0 and HP Printer when I scan

    I'm having a problem getting a .pdf file to come up when I scan from a HP 5610 All-in-one printer. Have uninstalled and reinstalled HP software three times but when I scan and want a pdf file it won't communicate with Adobe 9.0 reader for some reason. Is there a setting in Adobe reader that's a problem?

    Thanks, but I use publish/export settings with GPU hardware acceleration and flash version 11.2 (and 11.8) but nothing happening.
    And why gif file is not all transparenty then I insert on lightblue background? It can't export good quality? Also I use Photoshop, After Effects, Adobe Edge Animate. And nothing happening.   • Could not complete the Render Video command because of a problem with Adobe Media Encoder.

    Dear community members,
    I have bought Adobe Premiere Elements  10 and installed it from the DVDs on my MAC OSX10.5.8 on december 27, 2013
    When creating a new project , I get the following message :
    following a serious error, Premiere Elements 10 must stop
    Then I click OK and I get a new message :
    The Premiere 10 application has closed suddenly after having been rebooted
    Then I end up to the error report window. I have sent the error report  to Apple  ( I can send it to you if you want)
    I have also got the following error message :
    DW046 : following conflicting process were running, block : dynamiclinkmanager
    Notice : it seems this problem is occuring since I underwent a power failure while working on a project. When I want to open an existing project I get the following message :
    it seems that Premiere Elements has closed in an unexpected way during the last session. Do you want to open the previous project?
    When I say YES, I save it and it comes back to the welcome menu and I cannot see this project.
    I have tried to deinstall and reinstall Premiere 10 : this is impossible since I am required to deactivate dynamiclinkmanager that I cannot find.
    Notice that Adobe AIR is unable to find a solution whilst it recognizes there is a problem.

    Do you go to the last AutoSave to open that or do you go to the save location of the project file (project.prel) to open that file?
    Are you getting message to close the dynamiclinkmanager so that you can move forward?

    No bug. Just the way the .psd for the Scary Halloween template was put together.
    You are going to have to get into the .psd for the Scary Halloween template and rearrange the
    Layer Sets. Do you know how to do that? If not, I will give you very specific instructions on how to
    do that.
    You want the order of the Layer Sets to look like
    That is what worked for me just now to get the disc menu Preview to open to the main
    menu with the red highlight under Play.
