Problem with Adobe Update Manager

Hi there
I'm having trouble with AUM. I have a MacBook Pro running OS10.5
I have been looking around the Forums and have tried various solutions such as going to an individual product's update page (eg Flash) manually downloading the update, but this does not work.
This is the message I get when AUM fails:

If you just open the Application Manager by itself, does it successfully update?
As for Illustrator, you can download the offline installer from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2014-direct-download-links.html (CC 2014).
Make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions on that page.

Hello. Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe's latest updates to CS3 on Leopard (Macbook Pro)? It seems to hang on the Flash update. The update caused chaos on my Macbook Pro, constantly writing crash logs as soon as I quit a process another started up. I resorted to a clean install (my 3rd since Leopard) and exactly the same thing happens when Adobe Update Manager kicks in and gets stuck on Flash 9.0.2 update even when running as root. I reproduced the same results on my G5 too so at this point I can only assume the problem rests with Adobe. Anyone else?

What is wrong with Adobe Update Manager???!!!

Why in heaven's name can't Adobe fix their broken Update Manager?! Once again, the Update manager tells me that I have updates available, but the information is completely bogus. Two updates are listed: Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 and Illustrator CS5 15.0.2. The problem is that I am already running Photoshop 12.0.5 and Illustrator 15.0.2.
Is it really too much to ask that the Update Manager for this very expensive software work properly???!!!

I appreciate your reply, Steve. But it sounds like you're saying that the way to fix the Update Manager's whacko behavior is to tell it not to check for Photoshop CS5 updates. But that's its job! Still sounds broken to me. I understand that the 12.0.5 security update was issued "outside the AUM framework", but why do it that was if it was going to confound users?
For me, the same thing is still happening today—not just with Photoshop CS5, but also with Illustrator CS5. AUM tells me that the 15.0.2 update is available, but I am already running Illustrator 15.0.2.
It's not a temporary hassle, it's a permanent hassle because the AUM clearly cannot be trusted. It means that the only reliable way to update any of my CS5 apps is to manually go to the Adobe website and drill down to the relevant section for each CS5 app individually. This is shoddy customer service at its finest.

Problem with Adobe Application Manager

Adobe Application Manger fails to connect with internet ("computer is offline") while checking the License of my CS6, but i am definitly connected with the internet - what is the problem ?
The Version of Adobe Application manager is 3.1, System ist Windows 7.

The thing is that I have installed the Adobe Application Manager and the problem persists.

You need to uninstall the CC desktop app & reinstall it. You can refer to :
1.Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps
2.Creative Cloud Help | Creative Cloud for desktop
you can't install CC without Internet access. Even if you can download the apps separately, you still need the application manager and it needs to connect to the servers to provide the licensing and activation.

Problem with Adobe Extension Manager CC. Does not show installed extensions.

Adobe Extension Manager CC does not show installed extensions for Photoshop CC 2014 or Photoshop CC so that I am unable to uninstall extensions. This means that I cannot install updates to extensions.

Hi JJ - thank you for getting back to me. I got onto an Adobe tech and we tried various things including re-installation of Extension Manager, which didn't fix the problem. We then updated Photoshop (I was one point release back) then re-installed EM and this has fixed the problem.
I did check online and quite a number of people seem to have had this problem, so I guess Adobe has fixed whatever bug was in there.

More Problems with Adobe Application Manager

I just reformatted and upgraded from XP to Windows 7. I am trying to reinstall my Adobe applications, but AAM hangs with the message Waiting to Install... I have more than enough space. I tried rebooting my system. I deleted and reinstalled Adobe Application Manager. Nothing seems to work. How do I fix this problem?

You can launch the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) from the Start Menu on Windows or from the Applications folder on Mac OS X. It will look like this:
Just click on the Install link for the program you want to try. You will see a progress bar for the download and install and then be able to launch the program once it is complete.
Alternatively if you are signed in with your Adobe ID on the Creative Cloud Apps page at https://creative.adobe.com/apps you can click the Try link. AAM will launch, download and install the program.

I Have a problem with adobe updater. It says "Updater cannot start"

Problem with Adobe Updater

Recently reinstalled CS3. On first opening the system pulled down updates. These won't install. The updater is caught in a perpetual circle of trying to update and stopping. My instinct tells me this is something simple but I can't find a clue anywhere.
Version of the programme I'm trying to use at the moment is Photoshop CS3 Extended v10.0.1
OS is Win XP Pro SP3.
Microsoft updater performing fine but there is a similar glitch with MSFixit which was installed but will not update or re-install which I think is linked.
Anyone got any ideas?

Are you able to manually download and install updates?
All Adobe updates start here and select product, install in number order, updates are not cumulative http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

Problems with Adobe App Manager installation.

When I try to run the Adobe App manager a message appears saying it is corrupted and I need to reinstall it. But when I try to do it another one comes stating that "Adobe App Manager failed to install". What do I need to do to fix this problem?

Could you please follow this step and let me know if it helps.
Rename the OOBE Folder to OOBE.old from this location.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
Once done then please download Creative Cloud Desktop App from creative.adobe.com.

Return code of 37 means that the Adobe genuine Validation check has failed. This means that your media got corrupted while downloading or copying. You should re-download it from Adobe.com and make a fresh package using AAMEE 3.1.

Problem with Adobe Extension Manager

Hi, I run Photoshop CS4, Bridge CS4 and Dreamweaver CS5 on a Windows 7 pc.
I've been trying to download the BridgeExportToJpegCS4 plugin but keep getting the error message "This extension can not be installed, it requires Bridge version 3 or greater. The version of Bridge is 3.0.0464.
I have two version of Extension Manager - CS4 and CS5. I've tried loading the plugin to both EM's, but it will not load. I've tried saving the file to another folder which it seems to do, but then the file cannot be located. When I go to the windows but and type in BridgeExportToJpegCS4, it shows as being in whichever plugin file I've tried but when I check the folder, it is not there!!
Any help with this would really appreciated.

Well, you could start by disabling norton and see what
happens. Though I'm
guessing it's more than likely an Adobe issue more than
anything. Otherwise,
maybe try the usual suspects: Windows firewall, etc.
