Problem with advanced threshold in OCR - Vision Assistant 2013

I'm facing a problem with Vision Assistant 2013
The OCR charter set file advanced threshold data is always fixed at 255 upper value and optimize for speed is checked.
I edit them and reopen the file but no change.
anyone facing the same problem ?

Thanks for your answer. Yeah I have seen the examples and I´m familiar with the use of the OCR VI. I have use it a couple of time already with good results.
My problem came last week. While I was trying to run OCR on my image in my LabVIEW code. The algorithm did not detected what I was expecting.
I decided to run the test on the vision assistant and it worked perfectly. I assumed my code had different parameters, so I decided to generate a VI from the vision asssistant and run it on LabVIEW for the same image to verify.
I did not change anything on the VI (all parameters are the same), and used the same image. Surprinsingly the results are different between the assistant and the VI. That strikes me a lot!
I´ll start a new thread as you recommended. Hope to find the solution soon. Thanks

Vision Assistant 2013 returns faulty Kernel Sizes

When playing around with custom kernels in Vision Assistant 2013 I noticed that in the function "Filters" unter "Convolution - Custom", the size shown in the "Kernel Size" Control does not match the size displayed in the matrix view on the right of the control, as displayed in the attached picture #1.
Sizes larger that 5 grow to 17 instead of 7, 21 instead of 9, 25 instead of 11 and so on. When I hit OK and re-enter into the setup dialog, the Kernel size control shows "17" when I left it before with 7. I can then decrease the size from 17 to 7 and will finally get my 7x7 kernel.
Also, when using "Convolution Custom", and entering the first "customized" value, the focus in the filter selection list suddenly jumps to "Convolution - Highlight Details". If I decide that this shall not disturb me much and keep on entering the values, all is fine. Until I hit ok and then realize, I might have made a mistake, which makes me doubleclick the Filter Setup again. this results in a total change of the kernel I entered into the standard "Convolution - Highlight Details" with all those -1 s and the high positive number in the middle, see attached pictures #2 and #3.
Can anyone confirm this odd behavior?

Problems with the vba command sendkeys in Access 2013.

Hi, I have problems with the vba command sendkeys in Access 2013.
I use a text field (no control) in a form. By means of the VBA command SendKeys "+ {DELETE}", 1 I get the text in memory from the text field, then place (paste) the text in a Word document. The command line sendkeys
is followed by moving the focus to a particular control. In Access 2003, which went smoothly. Now the sendkeys command is executed only in Access 2013 in the control that then receives focus. If the procedure ends with the sendkeys command then it works well.
The procedure with the sendkeys command is activated by a button on a form.

What did you mean that you no control? And how did you get the text in memory from the text field? Also I am not able to understand the exact reason that the command doesn't works in Access 2013.
And based on the test, sendkeys "+ {Delete}" works well for me when I set a focus for the textbox control. Here is th test code:

Problem with Advanced Healing Brush on LR 5

I am experiencing a problem with the Advanced Healing Brush on LR 5. Using, say, the Heal option, when I have marked the area I want to heal, and then move to the source I want to copy, I cannot get the colour of my selected source point to remove the heal spot.
I have looked at a number of tutorials and working comments on using this function, and I am pretty sure that I am following the correct procedure for using the Advanced Healing Brush. I have the same problem when I try to use the Cloning option - the colour just does not fill the area I want to fix.
Is there possibly a bug hanging around? Can anyone give me any possible solutions to my problem? I so want to try out this terrific new feature in LR 5.

I was expecting the demarcated area to have adopted the chosen source color, but it hasn't, by a long shot. I've tried evry which way to get it to work, but no luck.
I even tried using the Clone option, choosing the same source color and painting over the orange feather, but that also didn't work.

Problem with iPhoto 9.3.2: Any assistance or how to re-install?

Hi all,
I've got a problem with iPhoto 9.3.2 whereby upon startup, I get a spinning wheel which goes on forever (I've left the computer alone for 5 hrs and coming back, it's still spinning). Symptoms are it pulls up the Library with Events, Photos, Faces, even Albums. But I don't actually get any photos displayed on the right.
I've tried :-
1) reinstalling Mountain Lion
2) using Disk Utility Repair Permissions
3) Rebuilding thumbnails & library
4) Creating new library
5) starting up under a new user account (therefore not a problem with a config file in my homedir)
6) Starting iPhoto up in Safe Mode
Note during the spinning wheel, I can access the menu as such I can quit, import photos, etc.
It actually works (worked) under the following conditions :-
a) Until 31st July iPhoto 9.3.2 was working fine. I cannot remember what I did/installed/uninstalled/changed/deleted to cause it to have problems
b) I can get access to the very same library with Aperture with no problems at all (i.e. no library issues)
c) Photos will only display if I import a picture. Then all Events will appear. I can get into each event, I can even select the photo I imported and delete it. This is my current workaround to accessing photos in iPhoto. However I cannot switch to any of the albums I created. It will only display Events. Clicking on Photos, Faces, Places, and any of the Recent doesn't do anything.
So finally now is to try to re-install iPhoto 9.3.2. Can any one please let me know how I can do this? I've tried Option-Click on Purchases tab in the App Store but I get a greyed out INSTALLED in iPhoto. Similarly I found a link that provided the iPhoto9.3.2Update.dmg but in attempting to installing that, it tells me it can only be done via the App Store.
Any advice?

@mende1, perfect! That was easy! I thought I had to clean out plist files from my home directory, etc. Upon deletion and reinstallation, iPhoto started working again!

Problem with advanced sidechaining in logic x

probably best i explain what i'm trying to do first!
I'm bussing 4 different audio tracks to bus 1 (for example) which has eq / compressor etc and outputs to the master and also to bus 2
bus 2 has a drastic high cut on it but has no output, it is intended to be used as a silent sidechain effector
bus 3 has a compressor set to sidechain to bus 2, but instead of sidechaining to the high cut signal, it uses the dry one.
i used to route the same thing the same way on logic 8 and 9 but on 10 i have encountered this problem, is there a setting i need to change or is it a problem with the softwar that i'll have to add extra busses to route around?

When you send (or change the output) of a channel to a bus, an Aux is created automatically in the mixer for you. You can create more Auxes manually and set their inputs to the same bus # if you need to. For example you could create a submix of 4 gtrs by setting the output to bus 1. In the mixer you will now have an Aux with bus 1 as its input. You could create 2 more Auxes with bus 1 as their input. So you have 3 channels all with the exact same submix of gtrs. Now you could do some parallel processing: 1 Aux has distortion, 1 Aux is clean, etc. Say you wanted to filter the crap out of the gtr submix and use it for a sidechain on something else, you take your third Aux and put your crazy filter on it, and change its output to Bus 2. A new Aux is created, but you can either delete it or change its output to none. Whatever you want to listen to the crazy filter in its sidechain listens to bus 2, where that filter has been sent (from the 3rd aux above).

Does the AUX output to Master & send to Bus 2? or is it bad grammar (not criticizing) and you mean the 4 audio tracks also go to Bus 2?

OK so far
bus 3 has a compressor set to sidechain to bus 2, but instead of sidechaining to the high cut signal, it uses the dry one.
I think what you want is to set the output of the AUX with the high cut to an open bus, and use that as the sidechain for whatever is on what "bus 3" is.
Maybe think of it like this: busses are pathways, they can even be potential pathways. If you send something to a bus it's like you plugged in a cord to a jack. The other end of that cord might not be plugged into anything. Or it might be plugged into the sidechain of a compressor, or an AUX channel. In Logic's virtual world, that cord is like a Y jack with, like, 250 ends on it. If you plug one of those ends into a filter, and one into an AUX channel, and one into a sidechain, the sidechain isn't going to hear what came from the filter. You need another cord (bus) to come out of the filter and then into the sidechain.
If you want to be 'clean and conservative' with your busses (and who doesn't in this economy?), you could skip the intermediate bus/channel. Unless the compression is critical to the silent sidechain signal, you could skip sending the compressed signal to bus 2. Change the input of the drastic high cut channel to Bus 1, and set its output to Bus 2, Make sure no AUXes are there with Bus 2 as their input.

Problems with black color creating PDF from Excel 2013

I want to create PDF from Excel 2013 using Adobe Acrobat distiller. When I do so I have problem with black which is 300 percent black instead of 100K. Problem is only with drawed lines from Excel's symbol menu (text is fine).
I use Acrobat 9 Pro and few days ago switched from Office 2000 to 2013.....and problems started.
Office 2000 and Acrobat 9 Pro worked ok and everything including drawed symbols like lines or squares were 100K black in PDF. Now in the case of Excel 2013 it is not so but when I use export function included in Excel and export file to PDF output is 100K. I am not sure if this kind of export is good for me. I use PDF's as inputs to InDesign. So I would like to have more control when create PDF from excel. But in Excel setup I can choose standard and minimum size and that is all.
I imported Adobe PDF Settings from computer where these settings worked with Excel 2010 but they do not do same job for me in combination with Excel 2013 (I have 300 black).
To explain my workflow:
I am a publisher of crossword magazine and I use Excel to write crosswords. Then I create PDF's and import them into InDesign.
Should I use internal export included in Excel 2013? Are these PDF's ok for working in InDesign and finally for print purposes?
Or If you have any suggestion how to create PDF via Adobe Acrobat distiller setup (which I prefer) please give me advice.

These are tough issues I suspect and the answer you need is probably trivial (it is finding it). I will make some suggestions, but I have no idea if any will work.
- In the printer under the Properties>Layout>Advanced>print quality, I use 300 dpi (default is 1200).
- Under the printer preferences>settings>edit the settings file, I use again 300 dpi (default is 1200 dpi).
These may not fix your issue, but migth be worth a try. You could also try using the preflight script to change to gray-scale. It may not make any changes, but again may be worth a try.
All I am trying to suggest are the things I would be looking at. Maybe they will lead you someplace. Others may be by with better suggestions in time.

Problem with URL:s containing scandinavian characters (Office 2013 / Firefox / SP 2010)

We are encountering problems with document opening when URL contains scandinavian characters (ä,ö). This issue occurs only with Office 2013 when using Firefox. With IE it works just fine. And Office 2010 works nicely as well.
Error message: "We can't connect to 'https://intra.../Test powerpoint.pptx' Please make sure you're using the correct web address".
This issue only occurs when document or document set name contains scandinavian characters. If I rename it, document opens without any problems.
Any idea how I could fix this?

Hi Law, try changing the settings in the library to "open in client application." You should also read the following links for solutions:

Problem with 'Advance' entry

Griends,
I am getting this strange problem. Does it happens with you also? Any solution..
The problem is as follows;
1. Transaction PR05
2. Enter only advance and save it with status Request Recorded/To Be Settled.
3. OPen the trip again, Simulate, the advance is visiable.
4. Click the 'Advance' tab.
5. As soon as you open the advance tab, the advance amount is grayed out (disabled)
6. Simulate now and the advance is shown as 0.
You see, only clickig the 'Advance' tab cause the adance to be ignored.

The poblem is solved now. Actually the problem was due the field 'Settlement amount' in Advance tab, which I made hidden. Upon clicking the 'Advance' tab, the system was moving 0 to this field. When I made this field visiable (still no input allowed), it started getting the corect valuse. I still feel it's a bug. Even if the field is not visible, it should contain coect value.

Problem with Advanced queueing

Hi,
I'm having the folowing problem:
I'm trying to implement the Monitor feature from within VB. I used the sample code posted in: re:Rollback segments and odbc and VC++
I created the class with the method NotifyMe, just as described.
When I try to start the monitor, I get the following VB-error:
Runtime error: -2147213295 (80042011)
Method 'MonitorStart' of object '_IOraAQ' failed.
I can't seem to find the problem, am I doing something wrong?
B.t.w., normal sending and receiving works fine.
We are using oracle database 8.1.7.0.0
CLient: 9.0.1.0.1
OO4O: 9.0.1.4.3

Problem with advanced action and a counter.

Hi!
I got a problem on a project with a counter and advanced action.
I got 7 words (3 wrongs and 4 rights), each associate with captions that shows on click
When the students had clicked on the 4 rights (and their captions are shown), the 3 wrongs captions are shown.
variable:
v_count
on wrong words:
simple action: on click, show captions
on good ones:
advanced conditional actions:
1) IF 1=1, THEN show > caption and v_count = v_count + 1
2) IF v_count=4, THEN show> all captions of the wrongs
The problem is: (Only when seen in browser) when I click on 3 rights (and not 4), all captions are shown! I have tried to put v_count=5, but then nothing happens.
Really, I'm lost! Have an idea of what could cause that problem?

Mx_internal_uid problem with advanced datagrid

I have a XML structure like this:
<Projekti ...attributes>
<Tehtava ....attributes />
<Tehtava ...attributes />
</Projekti>
<Projekti...>
...etc
And I'm populating advanced datagrid with this hierarchial
data, so I can get a tree view in datagrid where there is Projekti
-nodes and inside them is the Tehtava-nodes.
Problem:
When I bind the XML, and the hierarchialdata (that is created
from the XML) flex automatically adds
<mx_internal_uid>a324235351514......</mx_internal_uid>
-nodes inside of the Projekti-nodes. And this causes empty folders
added in a tree view when user clicks them.
Is there a simple way to:
a) prevent thos uid-nodes being created?
b) filter thos <mx_internal_uid>-nodes out from the
dataprovider of the advanced datagrid?

I know this is way after-the-fact, but I just ran into this problem myself today. I found that it generated the mx_internal_uid if the node I was selecting was an XMLList instead of XML. A simple cast fixed the problem.
P.S. "And this causes empty folders added into a tree view when user clicks on them." makes perfect sense when you're using the XML inside a <mx:Tree>. As soon as you select the item (whether by clicking or programmatically), you get extra nodes in the tree.
