Problem with AppleCare Registration

Hi,
I've purchased an AppleCare Plan for my Unibody MBP, but I have some problems during registration. It says my serial number is not valid, and when I try to see the warranty status, it says that my product serial number is not valid.
Can anyone tell me what I have to do in order to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance

that happened to me with my brand new MBP. Went to register it and it didn't like my serial #. I just called in and spoke to apple. They did it on their end and all was well after that.

    Mac G5 OS X 10.4.8, Studio 8
With every few launches of Dreamweaver or any of the Studio 8
applications i get a window saying that there's a problem with my
registration and that I need to reactivate my license. I have to
enter my license again (and again) and go through the activation
process and then get taken to the registration page at Adobe only
to discover that I can't register because I am already registered.
That's not the problem. The problem is having to keep re-entering
my license number at, usually, the most inconveniet of times.I have
completely uninstalled Studio 8 per Adobe's instructions, did an
Archive and Install of Mac OS X and reinstalled Studios 8. All is
fine for a few weeks and then this starts all up again. Why is this
    happening?
    Thanks!

MTSTUNER's advice is right on in this case.  I've seen problems with the older versions of Photoshop not being able to write to their installation areas because of UAC.
If Run As Administrator doesn't work, one additional thing you can try is to turn the UAC level down to the lowest setting, run Photoshop once, then return UAC to its default (or leave it off, your choice).

  • Problems with my registration of Photoshop CS2

I have owned different versions of Photoshop over the years, and the latest version I have is CS2.
I have it installed on two computers, one running Windows XP and the other running Windows Vista.
Apparently,  Adobe has me under two IDs, both  using the same email address,  but with different physical addresses, my old one and my new one.   All my registration information is apparently stored under the one with the old address, but I can only get access to the one with the new address when I go to the Adobe website.   That one doesn't see my registrations.
For the past several years I've worked primarily under Linux, using gimp, but I just got a new printer, which is not supported under Linux, so I have to use Windows and Photoshop to print.
Every time I start Photoshop CS2 on the second computer, it tells me I need to register.  If I do---needlessly I presume---it accepts the registration, but then the next time I start  the program, it does the same thing over again.
I can live with this, but if there is some simple way to fix it, I would like to do so.  I've spent a lot of time talking to Adobe on the phone or using chat online, but haven't got any help on this matter.
Also, I hope to make some changes to my system in the near future.    First, I will probably upgrade both computers to Windows 7.  Second, I may replace one of the computers with a new computer.  Finally I may  upgrade to Photoshop CS5.
Can anyone give me any advice about how to go about these things so as to end up with two legitamate versions of Photoshop on two computers, and so as to avoid problems..    I am worried that I may have to spend hours on the phone trying to get it done.

  • Macbook Pro - Finish flaking off...  and now a problem with AppleCare

    Hello,
So basically I am here due to that a year into having my 15" Macbook Pro the finish started flaking off to the left of the trackpad. It has progressively gotten worse and I figured being more of a cosmetic thing there was nothing that I could do about it. So I started researching it last month to find that a lot of people have this problem with the finish coming off the 06/07 Macbook Pro's. Some said that Apple have replaced the bezel around the keyboard or the entire top part of it that the flaking is happening.
So On October 2nd I called AppleCare and spoke to someone and described my problem to them. They said that it would be covered under the AppleCare Warranty and I was extremely happy to hear that. He then explained to me that the Apple Store who replaced a bad hard drive for me once only does things like hard drive replacements and ram replacements. Something as in depth as replacing the cover in question would need someone with more specialized training. With that being said I asked if there are any local places that could take care of it so the shipping in of my laptop and shipping back to me wouldn't be needed (hoping to speed things up a bit) and they said yes and gave me a name, address and phone number of a local computer repair place that is certified to service Apple products under AppleCare.
I think dropped off my Macbook and a week later get a call saying that Apple requested pictures of the flaking finish and then denied the service saying that it was normal wear and tear (even though other people I know with Macbooks that use them far more than I have no problem like I do). I did call and speak to a supervisor at Apple and got nowhere with him, insisting it was just normal wear and tear on the laptop and that his does the same thing.
Now when I dropped off the Macbook I did explain I had contacted Apple who assured me that this would be covered. When they called me saying the service was denied by AppleCare they did state my computer was already apart anticipating parts and the repair would be carried out. Now they are holding me liable for a charge of at least $45 since they normally charge $90/hr.
Basically I am writing this to find out a couple things. First off is the finish on the Macbooks a common problem, and if so have you had it fixed under AppleCare?
Who should pay the money to get my Macbook back? Since Apple first assured me it would be covered (on a recorded line) and then they change their mind.

This is a user forum and for everyone that responds you will only be getting an opinion. Try calling AppleCare and speak to a customer representative about the issue. Be nice but firm. I'm afraid they will have the last word.

  • Trouble with applecare registration

    hi all,
i've had my mac for over eight months now and am getting down to registering my applecare protection plan which i bought with my mac (btw i'm from india). however i'm having trouble actually getting the registration done.
i follow my booklet that i got with the plan and it directs me to the following page:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/Agreements.do
this site was down for a couple of days, but is at least working now.
i follow the "get started" link, and it next asks me to login, which i do. then i have a single link saying "Register an AppleCare Agreement" which i click. it brings me to the following page:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/RegisterAgreement.do
this is where i can't continue. i get a drop down menu to select my country (i do) – and that's it; nothing else. all the titles, "review terms and conditions", "provide your address information" are greyed. even after selecting the country nothing happens; it does not ask for any further information, the page doesn't even reload.
i was wondering if the site is itself down, or if i'm doing something wrong.
can anyone help me, please? thanks.

Some unknowns which could impact the ability to load the page properly:
    1. The routing across the internet to your internet service provider in India is any better or worse than our own.
    2. You haven't stated what web browser and version you are using, or if any settings are turned off, or you are using the default settings.
    3. You haven't stated if you are behind a router/firewall, or directly hooked up to the internet provider, and if it is high speed or dialup.
    4. A continuing issue loading specific webpages on Apple's own website, which we wouldn't know unless we were also registering AppleCare at the time. If you call AppleCare, they would be getting additional calls to that effect if it were the case, and could tell you that you aren't alone.
That's why I recommend calling them, since they would be in a better position to know #4 if it is the case.

  • PROBLEMS WITH APPLECARE!!

I bought this MBP and my serial numbers don't match in the database. It says I have a glossy MBP even though I have a matte MBP. Applecare had to talk to a special person to add applecare to my MBP since the serial numbers don't match. Should I ask for a replacement? I'm afraid this is going to give me problems down the road....

Actually, the latest 15-inch MacBook Pros are called MacBook Pro Glossy. I think this is to distinguish it from previous models that ONLY had the matte screen available and not the optional glossy.
I bought my MBP in June and ordered a matte screen one but it is also listed as MacBook Pro 15" Glossy.
I don't think there's anything wrong with your serial number and MBP.

  • Problems with the registration pop up menu

is there a reason why that when i go to open a document in either photoshop or indesign, the registration pop-up window comes up completely blank, won't go away and i can't go on to type or edit the document at all? i've just tried illustrator now and that is the same.

    Hi,
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • Serial number problem with aperture registration

I bought Aperture several months ago, and am trying to download it to my MacPro laptop (2ghz Intel Core). I have the original box with the original stickers etc but I've tried every combination of numbers on the stickers (including the one that looks most obviously like a serial number), and all I keep getting is a message saying that it's not a valid serial number, and - eventually - the machine cuts me off and I have to start over (and over and over and over...).
Can anyone tell me what how the serial number is formatted (letter first or 10 numbers or anything that'll give me a clue)? Or what I should do?
Getting to the local Apple Store is a pain. I don't want to have to drive back, explain I bought it three months ago etc etc.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks...

    Hi Robert,
I recommend you do your changes in your file/XML file before you load your form. It's much quicker and easier this way
    e.g
//make your changes in your xml form
    SBO_Application.LoadBatchActions(ref YourXMLFileString);
    Cheers, Lita
