Starting with release 7.00 based system you have to set
    login/no_automatic_user_sapstart=0
in your instance profile and restart the instance.

  • Apple ID Problem with Incorrect username/password setup

    Hello all,
I'm trying to help my sister-in-law with a problem with her Login details for Apple Store. She has no skills in this department, so she asked a friend (?!) to help her. Somehow things were done that allowed her to establish an account, altho frankly I am not sure how it was activated. She used her old email address at that time, which she has in the meantime replaced with a new address from another ISP. I managed to establish an ID using the new address, but she has an iPad registered under her old Apple ID.
Nothing was written down, and nowhere can I find an 8 letter password with the Capital Letter and Number system as required by Apple. The help questions which were established when compiling the old address can't be answered, because she didn't write down either the data, or the answer. From all this, you can judge that I'm frustrated at trying to do more for her.
I can't understand how, or if, one could cancel the old details in favor of the new. Or whether it might work if I "Restore" the iPad according to the instructions in iTunes when the iPad is attached, and try to register it under the new user/password I established.
We live very remotely, so popping into a local store for help is not possible. I've tried, with my limited knowledge, everything I can, but I've got nowhere. So, can any kind soul who might have had to go done this route, or who might have a possible clue to what I could do, perhaps help me out? I'll bet its staring me in the face, but as an old guy, my instincts aren't as sharp as they were.
Very many thanks to anyome reading this post, who might be able to give me some assistance.
    Barrie

    Hi  barrie,
Well, sounds like you have half the problem fixed. But for the original account, even though you can't remember the answers to the original security questions, you CAN contact Apple Support to have them reset them for you. Once they are reset, also reset the password to whatever the password on the new account is so they are seamless.
Also, on both accounts be sure to set up a RESCUE EMAIL ADDRESS with the Security Questions. This will prevent any issues down the road with forgotton passwords/security questions, and will allow you to recover in a much easier way than this has been.
But again, for the original account. You need to do the following:
    1.  Contact Apple Support, provide them with the Original Apple ID, and let them know that you need to have the Security Questions reset.
    2.  Once that is done, set up new Security Questions for that old Apple ID as well as a RESCUE EMAIL ADDRESS with those new Secuity Questions
    3.  Reset the Password on that Old ID to be the same as the one on the new ID (and keep it consistent - any time you change the new one, change the old one)
    4.  Sign into iTunes one last time with that old ID and use up your $15
Now, forget the old ID altogether except when you need to update the password to match the new one. Once you have done your final redemption, only the new Apple ID should exist for you. All apps and music purchased in the same iTunes Library with either ID will be able to be loaded onto the iPad. When one of the apps needs to be updated, it may display the old ID, or it may display the new ID - if the password is the same, it won't matter which is displayed for the update. Put in the password, and it will update.
Whatever you do - Don't delete the apps purchased with the old ID. Once you get it squared away it will just be like a "phantom" id in the backround. Not really used, but still associated with the apps purchased under it. As long as they all live in the same iTunes Library, the ID they were purchased under is irrelevant. The only thing that matters after that is the password (as explained above) for any updates.
For the iPads themselves, make sure that the new Apple ID is showing for the iCloud account. This is what ties the Apple ID being used to do purchases via the iPad.
I hope the info I have provided has helped, and that your trip to Canberra will be a success. Sounds like an all-around nightmare, and you have been a very patient and sweet brother-in-law to stick with this whole thing.
Best of luck, and do let me know how it all turns out! I would love a line from you as the adventure progresses!!!
    Cheers,

  • Having problems with key chain password

I just got my mac book yesterday, and I'm having problems with my keychain password.
My keychain password is not the same as my login password, it won't accept it, so i think i made a typing error.
Each time i go on to safari, it asks for the password, which i don't have. i've tried the key chain first aid, and that still doesn't work. I've also tried keychain access, and that also doesn't work as it asks for the password first!
Is there a way that i can reset it?

There are user passwords and Administrator passwords. The only way to check your keychain password is to be the administrator. In an effort to secure my MacBook, I have an administrator account that I don't use at all and I have a user account that is all I use. It is a great way to protect your MacBook info from others.
As to your question, passwords are case sensitive. You can try to change the password by inserting the CD's that came with your MacBook and reset the password. Seeing that you just got it yesterday, you probably don't have much personal information on it yet, you could use disk utility from the CD and reinstall the Operating System.
    Good Luck.

    Hi
When am trying to download acrobot standard its prompting with user login password and its not getting downloaded.

When you (or someone) first switched on your computer, you (or someone) had to choose a password. This protects your computer, and you need it to install most software or change the system. We can't help you if you forget it, sorry.

  • Loaded atv 4.2.2 problem with netflix login.  Has anyone solved this problem?

Cannot login to Netflix on Apple TV after the 4.2.2 update.  Ihave done a restore, unplugged and restarted, called netflix and they changed password.  Was able to login to Netflix on Mac Air.  Netflix says call apple.

I am also having this, and I am 4.4.3.  I'm guessing it's a problem with the Netflix app and how it send the password.  It seems that only passwords containing all numbers work, but I would like to have a more secure password protecting my Netflix account.

  • Sun 7120 - problems with resetting root password?

We have just taken delivery of a Sun 7120 system, did the initial config today no problems, then came to log in to tweak it and it refused my root password. Logged on the serial console with the same password fine, logged out and now it won't let me back in, just says "login incorrect". Have reset the CLR PW jumper on the mainboard, and rebooted and it then comes up in the preboot system, but reports errors about the ILOM. After powering down and removing the jumper, the root password is still there!
Output on bootup attached below, can anyone help?

  • Problem with Application Login after upgrading to Oracle 11g

I have a home-grown application with Oracle 10g database running under Windows XP Pro. Recently, I installed Oracle 11g and imported the application database from 10g to 11g (still want to keep the 10g running for a while). However, I now having problem with the application logging into the new 11g database. (Keep getting invalid user/name message).
BTW, I have no problem accessing the 11g database through SQLPlus (logging in with the same name and password that I use for the application), and the connection test of NetManager (again using the same name and password that I use for the application) was successful.
The application itself uses the old Borland BDE (Borland Database Engine) to access the 10g and 11g database. Testing confirms that BDE can access Oracle 11g with no problems.
Any idea about the probable cause(s) of the problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    sg2000

11g by default is case sensitive username/password.
You can disable that with setting parameter SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON to false.
    SQL> SHOW PARAMETER SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON
    SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON = FALSE;

  • Problem with username and password

I've been trying to set up a new back up from scratch, and after losing my network and wifi connection, I just about have it all working again.
I have wireless connection, and I have the TC appearing correctly in Airport Utility, green light, reporting no issues, and seemingly ready to go.
It shows up correctly when I select disk in TM's system preferences, and it shows up and connects OK i n Finder, under shared items.
However, when I try to initiate a backup, its reporting a problem with the username and password, even though I'm entering the correct password.
I've checked it in the keychain, changed it in AU to be sure etc, and when I enter a wrong password, it just tells me its the wrong password, rather than this longer message explaining there's a problem with the username or password.
So I guess it could be with the username, but not sure what that might be - any ideas?
The only thing I can think of is that the name appears as Time Capsule b7e45c in AU, but as Iain MacDonald's Time Capsule on Time Capsule b7e45c in TM's system prefs.
Message was edited by: Iain MacDonald1

Exactly the same here...error 107 is reported when I try to back up.
There are 4 computers sharing the time capsule and only one of them reports this error.
Is there a way to remove the sparsebundle and start again for this computer without having to lose all the others?

  • Problem with Mac Office Password Protection

I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.5 with MS Word for Mac 12.3.5 and MS Excel for Mac 12.3.5.
I created a Word (.docx) and an Excel (.xlsx) document on my Mac at home, both with password protection.  I uploaded the documents onto Google Drive.  I was able to open the documents a few times with the password on my Mac at home, and on my PC at work.  However, now upon opening the docs, Word and Excel say the password is incorrect (both home MAC and work PC).
I know I'm entering the correct password. I'm 100% positive. I was able to open the docs a few times previously just a day before.  Now they're completely inaccessible. My questions are:
    (1) Is this a common problem with Mac for Word/Excel docs?
    (2) Are there ways to recover the password (a dictionary based brute force solution is unlikely to work, as I use non-word passwords with numbers)?
    (3) If this is a common problem, are there other alternatives to password protecting or encrypting Mac for Word and Excel docs that don't cause problems?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Could just be thats the way it runs on Rosetta. I called in apple to ask if I could return office '04 because I didn't want to take the chance, they were more than eager to return it for me because of the fact it would be slow/maybe have problems running in Rosetta.
I just got iWorks instead till the universal version of office comes out (which if you buy office '04 you'll have to buy the new universal version as well, or so the rep told me).

  • Using Tiger 10.4.7 with AD 2003 and problems with rq'd Password Change

I have been able to successfully change my password 4-5 times before in my scenario using Tiger v-.2->.6 and have never had a problems.
Now I just changed my old expired password, as req'd from the AD policy, to my new Password on my XP box and have a Mobile account on my Powerbook that won't let me in now using my new Password. It says I am unable to use this <name> account at this time. Is there a propogation time to pass?
Local Admin account on PB can sign in fine- My alternate Systems Admin account <mobile> can sign in as well fine. Other local accounts work well as well.
As a mobile account I cannot change my password without being connected to the AD network at this point (no access through local System Prefs). Has anyone ever experienced this? Or is everyone still shying away from Mobile accounts usage and Homesync (Works great on my machine - problems with other accounts/computers)- I'm sort of a Mac/AD Daredevil here in XP-land, since we only really support Macs because our CEO won't (refuses to) use XP and I am a Jedi Knight inside the Dark Star (Just learning XP/AD to get steady work).
Anyone out there have anything to add/suggest? THX

The admonition not to use the Tiger install disk utility only applies to repairing permissions. You can use Disk Utility from the install disk for verifying and repairing your hard drives. However, with Tiger, you can now verify your boot drive with Disk Utility from your boot drive itself (this only works if you have disk journaling turned on and it's on by default). If the drive would need any repairs then you would have to boot from the installation disk to repair it.
Disk Warrior is probably the best hard drive maintenance utility in the entire Macintosh universe and it works fine with Tiger. Just make sure you have the latest version which is 3.0.3 I believe.
In my opinion the iLife suite of programs is absolutely essential for the complete Macintosh/OS X experience. There's nothing like it on any other platform, period. It's a true work of excellence.
You will enjoy the stability and compatibility of Tiger especially when on the Internet. The latest version of Safari is the best yet.

  • Problems with Keychain, login etc etc .... help please :-/

    Hi guys,
My G5 iMac started playing up a couple of days ago.
First of all in Mail it kept asking me for my password for my email account, it wouldn't accept it and kept asking me to set up a 'default Keychain' which I did but still the 'password' window appeared every time I opened Mail ??
I ran Disk Aid and other than a couple of files out of order everything seemed fine.
I looked on the Help menu for Keychain advice and ran Keychain Aid, upon completion it said there were problems ? didn't say what or how to fix them ?
No passwords I entered into Keychain would work at all.
Then yesterday when I turned my computer on it asked for my password ? it's never done this before ..... I entered it and when the computer restarted it was all different ?? There were files on the desktop from 2-3 years ago ?? and when I went into my Pictures, Documents, Music etc there were no files there from the last three years ?? real odd i thought. Opened safari and all my Bookmarks were from 2-3 years ago too ??
Looked on here for hints and tips, did a 'safe' reboot ? installed my original OS X disc but ended up reinstalling OS X.
Then every time I switched on or restarted, it would come up as my computer and ask me to enter my name and password, neither of which it would recognise ??
Again off the installation disc I ran 'Disk Aid' with no problems then started to change passwords etc after logging in as a System Administrator in a new account :-/
Going into Users via my new account I can see two old one's both bearing my name although slightly different. One I can see is from when I originally got this computer, the other is obviously my most recent ? as all my iTunes files, documents etc are there. All that is missing now is my Pictures as all that is in that file is iPhoto. Somehow all my saved pics etc ended up in a Pictures folder within my Home (folder/file ?) within my last account. Obviously as I can't log into that account anymore I can't access my Home menu under it :-/
Any suggestions guys ? does it make any sense ? sorry to babble.

If i go into Macintosh HD then down to Users I can see my two old Home folders. If i go into the most recent, like I said earlier there is only iPhoto in the Pictures folder, this is due to an error I needed to correct before all my hassle with Keychain and Passwords started. If I could log in to that Home folder I'd be able to access my pics but my Mac isn't recognising any passwords for it ??
When you open the Finder window and you can see Desktop - Home - Documents - Music - Pictures and Movie folders there used to be nothing but iPhoto in the Pictures folder, however if i clicked on my Home folder in the Finder menu my pictures could be found within the Pictures folder in there.
Although i can see my other Home folders under Users in the Macintosh HD, when I go into System Preferences - Accounts - the only one present is this new 'system administrator' one I set up yesterday ??
