Problem with Battery Driver in Windows SP 3

Recently I Installed Windows SP3 using bootcamp
after installation I proceeded to install the mac hardware drivers for windows.
for some reason I am not able to view current battery level in windows and it always shows that there is no driver for batteries and prompts me to find and install the drivers (found new hardware wizard). Even using the wizard i am unable to install any sort of driver. I have tried repairing the drivers with the mac OS X install DVD but the problem persists.
Please help. Thanks

Hi Linda and welcome to Discussions,
according to the list Apple provides here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3777 a battery driver is not included in the BootCamp Drivers.
Sorry

  • Problem with battery when using windows 7

I have a new 13" mac book pro. I install windows 7 and used autocad 2010 on windows. My battery usage is very high and i lost all my power in 2:15 hr. Is there anything wrong or if i uninstall the windows 7 again my mac has a good battery life.

The best of course would be to shutdown Parallels when you do not need it or use the feature called Standby to start at the same point where to stopped when Windows is started again in Parallels.
What I usually do is to have my laptop running on power as long as I am sitting on my desk during the day. Only when I am in meetings or work from my home office, I let it run on battery so that it gets de-charged from time to time to save some battery life.

  • Problem with bluetooth driver (bootcamp windows 7) ! Can't connect any bluetooth device...

1st word, so sorry about my poor English !
My device here is : macbook pro mid 2012 MD101 (MacOSX & Windows 7 Ultimate, my question here's on Windows 7) !
I have a bluetooth mouse and a speaker, at my workplace I need to use 2 devices wireless, although they have both got wires (for aesthetics ya know )
I've also installed full bootcamp drivers, but bluetooth driver's still not work at all ! So can someone show me how to install bluetooth driver correctly, please ?
Many thanks to ya all !

There are a number of posts related to accessing and/ copying issues between Windows Vista / 7 and AirPort Disks. Two potential solutions being forwarded are: 1) Changing the LAN Manager authentication level, and/or 2) Disabling the Windows Search feature.
To change the LAN Manager authentication level:
From the Windows Vista / 7 desktop, click Start
    Search for: security
    Click 'Local Security Policy'
Goto Local Policies > Security Options
Under Policy, double-click 'Network security: LAN Manager authentication level'
Change level to: Send LM & NTLM responses
Under Policy, double-click 'Network security: Minimum session security for NTLM SSP based (including RPC) clients'
    De-select 'Require 128-bit encryption'
    Click OK
     To disable Windows Search:
Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features
On the right-hand side, click "Turn Windows features on/off"
Scroll down, and de-select "Windows Search".
Press OK, close all windows and restart.
A third "solution," that has worked for me, is verify that both the AirPort base station and the Win7 PC are using the exact same Workgroup Name. In my case, I use "WORKGROUP" (without the quote marks) for this name. From the AirPort Utility, you would enter this value on the Disks > File Sharing tab. On Win7, Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Change Settings > Change > Workgroup

  • Problem with battery life on windows 7

    Hi,
I just got my mbp 13", formatted it and installed windows 7 because of my work and needed applications buy my battery says only 3hr 45min left
I thought it would last at least 6 hours
or I should update something ?
I had boot camp 2.1 but upgraded to 2.2 and it is the same
I read that some have boot camp 3.0 but I can't find where to download it and I am not sure if it will help me ?

For winscp try this though such capabilities are really built into the MacOS anyway.
For Telnet/ssh see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1078161 or http://www.lysator.liu.se/~jonasw/freeware/niftyssh/ or a heap of other Mac software options, free . shareware and commercial.
As far as HSLW goes, it seems you will need to convince the developers that they need to broaden their horizons if they don't want to miss out on a rapidly growing share of the market- see http://forum.hlsw.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1491&p=5454&hilit=Mac#p5454 - though there may be alternatives if you dig around.

  • W510 problems with Nvidia driver recovery under Windows 7 (64 bit)?

Lenovo W510, Nvidia Qudardo FX 880M video, FHD:
What I'm seeing on occasion is a Windows 7 (64-bit) recovery, screen blanks out, goes 2-3 seconds, then recovers, things go back to normal, but a message displays saying that an error was detected in the video driver, and it has recovered. The new Firefox (4.0.1) seems to be one of the things that may be a contribution, hard to tell.  Per System Update at least, I'm current on the Lenovo downloads. SIW shows the driver level as 8.17.12.5738 (2010-06-27). Nvidia web-site shows their current driver level on the wen-site as 270.61 (2011-04-18), which is a considerably newer date at least. So two questions:
Has anyone else seen Driver/Recovery issues on Win 7 (64)
Has anyone directly run the Nvidia video drivers and had them run OK?
Seems like it would be nice for Lenovo to update their drivers, if indeed this is a driver issue, they appear back-level.

I used to have this problem with my W510 running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, especially Firefox 4 crashing the Nvidia display driver almost constantly. I googled and found that this is a known problem between older Nvidia driver and Firefox 4. Later on I downloaded the latest version of Nvidia driver from Lenovo website (it was not posted on the System Update server yet but was available on the regular download site). I clean-installed it (i.e., removing all files and settings created by the old driver) and I haven't experienced the problem since then.

I've had this for sometime and this laptop for about 1 year. Never saw this before, but haven't tryed to line up with ITunes for a while. I get a notice from windows that there is a problem with the drive and it asks it i want to fix it. Nothing happens if i try, so I have not persued that avenue. ITunes says a IPod is detected but the identification cannot be verified. Whats up with that?

  • When I hook my ipod to computer it reads: there is a problem with this drive scan the drivenow and fit it (F) it doesnt work

when I hook up ipod up to to itunes it reads:  IP F  There is a problem with this drive.  scan the drive now and fix it.   When I do this, nothing happens.

    Hello,
I found the same issue. I have an iPod Classic 160 GB (Black) bought in April 2013. I'm using a Windows 8 Laptop bought in August 2014.
This is my account of this problem and why I think customers should just ignore the pop-up, but Apple (and possibly with Microsoft/Windows) should look at the issue.
Recently (approximately from early February 2015), when I connect the iPod to my computer I get a message saying there is a problem with the drive and it needs to be scanned and fixed. In full the message reads:
There's a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it.
This message appears very shortly and then immediately (once the message disappears, is clicked on, or x-d) brings up Windows File Explorer on the drive and its containing visible folders: which tells me nothing (though it can clearly open it and look at the files not locked to iTunes)
Other than this, the iPod seems to connect properly and work fine. iTunes (ver: 12.1.0.71 64bit) seems to find no issue. The iPod runs fine, it syncs properly (all of my music and podcasts). It responds as it always has and works for hours.
I did some troubleshooting: first on the wire, trying all ports and using an alternative, then on my laptop (all usb ports with other connectors and device drivers) and some basic testing of the iPod and iTunes. All of these seemed fine to me, no issue whatsoever other than the message every time I connect the iPod. So I just ignored it for a while.
Anyway, eventually I got curious (and had some more free time to look at it) and let Windows 8 do what it wanted (scan and fix the drive). Clearly the iPod works fine, and I have nothing important on it that isn't on my computer, so at worst Windows will break the software and I'd have to reformat the drive through iTunes (and Restore to Factory Settings) which I feel fine doing. I also took note of all of my settings on the iPod (like EQ, and the way I laid out the menus etc...) so I can redo those from defaults.
Prior to doing this, the iPod was version 2.0.5 (the latest version).
When I set the drive to be scanned, windows told me it identified the problem and would fix it. I don't remember the exact wording, as this message was immediately obscured by a pop-up telling me the drive was in use and software using it should be closed. So I closed iTunes which in turn caused the pop-up and message to disappear.
Windows then said it had succeeded and brought up the File Explorer of the drive again (now with some folders missing). When I loaded iTunes back up, it told me there was a problem with the iPod and it would need to be restored. Ejecting the iPod showed that it seemed to believe it had no content on it.
So I restored the iPod through iTunes, downloading the latest iPod update again and started syncing the iPod. After adding a couple songs, I ejected it and played them - they worked fine, the menus had returned to defaults but I quickly changed them to how I liked and overall the iPod is back to how it was. I've now set it to sync the remaining thousands of songs (and couple hundred podcasts). Edit - by the end of this post, this has finished copying Music, Podcasts, and Playlists. It's back to exactly how it was before.
Annoyingly, this has not removed the pop-up message when I connect the iPod, still the same as before - the most irksome thing being the file window opening every time i connect the iPod, though this is still minor (I just have to remember that this will happen and manually close it each time).
So I'm at a loss on the cause, and am going to return to ignore it. I'd greatly appreciate if Apple could look into this. I'm wondering if it is a recent update to iTunes or to Windows, but I don't trust that I won't be able to undo changes if I myself began looking through them (and I lack the time and expertise to do that effectively). I think there might be that Windows is detecting something in the way that Apple formats their iPod drives that it believes is an issue (even when it isn't). My guess is the way of formatting is unchanged (the iPod hadn't received an update recently to suggest and alteration to this) but maybe the things Windows is looking for may have slightly changed and disagrees with Apple's way of keeping the iPod Drive proprietary to iTunes.
TL,DR: Advice to others (and Ljchicago) searching this topic is to ignore the message for now.
    Thanks,
    Dixavd

  • Sync Problem - "There is a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it".

Have new desktop computer with Windows 8.When I connect my iPod to my computer to sync, I get the message – “There is a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it”. It is identifying the drive on the iPod as the problem. iPod works fine on my laptop computer and older desktop (both with Windows Vista). iTunes seems to momentarily recognize my iPod then it doesn't.  Any thoughts about a fix?

  • FYI: MS-7125 BIOS has problem with Hard Drives withNative Command Queuing (NCQ)

For those the have messed my two treads on which both ended up being cause by K8N Neo4 BIOS problem with HD's with NCQ.
Will wonders never cease? MSI Support finally conceded the BIOS has a problem with Hard Drives with NCQ and they have forwarded the problem to their programming department.
However, do not look for any results for above two weeks.
    Roger

The problem that this thread has been trying to follow is the incapability of the nVidia RAID Controller with Serial ATA Type 2.5 drives.  I know the threads has been hard to follow and part of that is because when I started the thread I had what appeared to be three totally un related problems, but all three were traced down the common problem of the incapability of RAID Controller with Serial ATA Type 2.5 drives.
The title of this thread is MS-7125 BIOS has problem with Hard Drives with Native Command Queuing(NCQ).  The statement was true at the time it was written and has nothing to do with memory problems.
Sense the thread was started MSI has fixed the BIOS part of the problem, but we have sense learned the nVidia RAID Controller Command software and its driver has problems too.  I have been working MSI Support, they have been using me to test pre-beta BIOS and Drivers soon.   Of the testing I have done the pre-beta BIOS worked and the Pre-beta 32-bit driver works.  I am assuming that the latest BIOS V1.B had as part of it included fixes was the needed fixes for working with the nVidia RAID Controller as I have test the pre-beta RAID Driver with BIOS Version V1.B as the Raid array function fine windows XP Pro 32-bit Edition.  As I have had no communications with MSI support of over a week now I am hoping for a release of 32-bit and 64-bit RAID Drivers.   But, nobody should get the hopes up, because through other backdoor sources nVidia is having a hell of a time.  One reason for this I heard is that the nVidia RAID Controller is fully software, no hardware other than the electrical drive interfaces.  Their problem started when they tried using the old 32-bit code Controller with new 64-bit hardware drivers and now they are having to totally rewrite the controller core in 64-bit code.  But, knowing my source, it may all be fiction.
The RAID Array you say is up and running, are the drives full specification SATA 2.5 in other words do the both have 3Gb/s speed and NCQ.  If you send me the full part numbers I will check the specifications a get back to you.  Because if you have nVidia RAID 0 Array you working you will be the first to have done it and there about 230 people around the world that would like to know how you did it, even MSI, who's pre-beta nVidia RAID Drivers that will work with BIOS V1.B for 32-bit Windows only and nothing for Windows XP 64, would like to know.

  • Problems with shutdown, expose and window switching

    Hi there,
Recently I've been having a few issues with OS X. First of all it wasn't shutting down properly -- the menu bar would disappear and it would look like it was going to shutdown, but it never did. I could move down to the dock (on auto-hide) and it would re-appear, at which point I can bring up a terminal window and use 'shutdown' to do the job. On startup I'd reset the PRAM, and then do a disk-check, but the problem keeps coming back.
Subsequently, I've also been having problems with expose and switching windows (i.e. command-tab). Namely, neither of them work. Expose won't fire from either hot corners or the keyboard, and if I re-launch the app from the Apps folder (without trying to kill it first, I should say), it does nothing. Cmd-tab gets interpreted as just tab, and the keyboard shortcut for dashboard also fails (although I can start the dashboard from the dock).
I read in another post about an invalid jpeg in the downloads folder being able to cause the Expose problem (seems like a most unlikely bug?). Anyway, I cleared all pictures from my downloads folder and functionality came back, but now it's gone again. It's really very frustrating as it makes moving between windows a lot more hassle.
Any thoughts would be gratefully received.
    TIA,
    Mat

    This sounds interesting.
Can you post a copy for the rest of us to see?
As for actually helping you, and not just satisfying our curiousity, if you start cutting pieces of the code you will probably end up finding the source of the problem (and we won't have too big a program to handle). Since DSC is a likely suspect, you may want to start there.
Also, are you creating an installer and using that to install? If not, you may wish to try that.
Try to take over the world!

  • Problem with battery for MacBook Pro 2007

I have a problem with battery that was replaced during video card service 1.5 years ago
Battery health was around 80% and it stopped to work, I continued to use notebook with power cable and after week the battery become like this!
spoke with person in Apple store and got answer that it is not covered by Apple and I will need to buy another new battery.
For me it looks like manufacturing problem and I'm not expecting that after 1 year my battery will die like this! Thanks that it didn't explode!
What I should do in such case?

    Thanks for your reply!
All my battery story is ending with bad taste...
I always relied on quality of the Apple products, it brought me to change all computers and phones to Apple brand. I was ready to pay extra for their products...
This battery has an Apple brand on it and I'm expecting that Apple will take some responsibility for it.
First battery on my MacBook Pro 2007 worked without any problem for 4 years, then it was replaced by Apple service tech person for unknown reason. This "new" battery failed just after ending of 1 year warranty coverage and even deformed in such scarry way. And now I don't have any option to ask if there is possibility that I'm experience a manufacturing defect! And I know that it is possible, internet is full of negative comments for these batteries!
Now I'm asking myself again, if it worst to buy Apple products? Are these products have proper quality?

You should be able to use the battery if you get a car type charger which recharges mobile devices.
The full size iPads use a 10-12W charger, whereas the mini uses a 5W charger. Many car chargers only supply 5W. But at 5W, the car charger should give you some extra time on your iPad. It would be best to use a 10-12W car charger.
