Problem with bit rate ?

Hi there,
Using FCP7.
After compressing a FCP project with Compressor and burning DVDSP with DVDSP, I realized that  scenes containing objects or people in rapid movement where showing jerked images.
The slow motion scenes are fine.
I checked the following
settings for DVDSP burning: VBR two pass;
averageBit rate  4,0,
max rate 7,0
1) the self-contained QT that I started with is not showing this problem.
2) the m2v file obtained from compressor (I use preset setting for high quality compression) does not show this problem when I view it with MPEG streamclip
3) I tried to burn directly the QT file  with Toast 10 …get same problem if not worse !.
settings for Toast
automatic re-encoding
average rate 4,0 Mbps
max bit rate 8,0 Mbps
MPEG-2
I guess my problem comes from the bit rate I used ?
I am now confused and I am not sure I understood the impact of the bit rate setting on the quality of the resulting DVD, and I believe that using a high bit rate in DVDSP might result in problems for some clients to play the DVD on their player ?
Could it be something else ?
could someone please give me advice ?
Many thanks in advance
Ivan

I can only think of two possibilities based on the info available:
1. Old DVD player (choking on the bitrate spike)
2. You need to set some compression markers around the scenes while in FCP. This would flag Compressor to pay extra attention to that area. After you output the new clip, I suggest you use the standard High Quality preset (in Compressor) for your program duration e.g., "Highest Quality 90 minute". Don't get creative with the encoding set-up. And ALWAYS used AC-3 audio.

  • Importing Problems. Bit Rate Variations

    I've customised my CD importing bit rate to 192kbps. However, when importing songs they can be anything from 180-195kbps when stored. This started all of a sudden - I have 4000 songs at 192kbps. Any ideas?

    I just noticed in that after updating to 7.6 that if you're attempting to import discs to AAC using VBR that it shows up as a constant bit rate now. It seems to be the flip problem that constant bit rate users had with 7.5. I'm kind of annoyed by this because I'd been importing my entire library (A thru S) using the VBR settings and now everything seems to be coming in flat when I start ripping. Or are they VBR and just showing as constant? Either way, I hope it gets fixed. I hate having 3/4 of my files showing VBR and the rest CBR.

  • PCM problem - Muxer Bit Rate Too High

    I'm continually receiving the error "Muxer error Bit Rate Too High." I've narrowed it down to the PCM audio that I'm using. I know many would recommend that I switch to .AC3. Unfortunately, that is not an option.
    I received audio from 3 sources. From an audio post house, the quicktimes produced on my mac and the encoded PCM files from the Maestro real time mpeg encoder. The weird thing is that the PCM files from the real time encoder work fine. If I remove all the audio, but leave the PCM from Maestro...there are no issues.
    I have even gone as far as outputting from FCP to dbeta and then re-encoding with Maestro and that didn't work.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Erik, you may be about to hate me, but I am just making sure I understand the process of elimination, you deleted all audio from all tracks and ONLY left the PCM audio on the main track and it did not build? And the same thing for each of the menus (all audio out of the project except for a menu at a time?)
    1.) Not sure how you made the menus or you default preferences within DVD SP, but if the encoding rate for menus was high and it was a motion menu the spike could still happen.
    2.) If the steps were as above, take a look at the build file on your computer to see where it is crashing out and/or watch the log to see what is being muxed when the projects crashes
    3.) If in fact that leaving just the PCM audio in the track by itself (not the 5.1) you may want to delete preferences and the MPEG/PAR files that DVD SP creates and also repair permissions. Then take the PCM and try rexporting from Quicktime to AIF and use a different name for the file such as "SecondTry.aif" so it is clear it is the other file.
    BTW which version of DVD SP are you running and which version of QT?

  • Problem with exchange rate GBP/EUR

    Hi everyone,
    I have an issue regarding 2 documents that have been posted the same date (31.05.2011) but with different exchange rates.
    The first doc is type ZP, posted with exchange rate GBP/EUR=0,88XXX (entry date: 26.05.2011, T.Code: F110)
    The second one is type BK, posted with exchange rate GBP/EUR=0,87XXX (entry date: 01.06.2011, T.Code: FB01)
    Both documents use the same exchange rate type EURX.
    I checked in OBA7,  there is no default value for the field "Exchange rate type for foreign currency docs" in both cases.
    Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Soumaya

    Hi,
    If the exchange rate is maintained in OB08 once a month, and in the meanwhile, if you are trying to post any transaction with foreign currency, the system would pick the last available/maintained rate in the table. For Eg: if the rate is maintained upto 30.04.2011 with 0,88XXX and if you have made a document with ZP with posting date as 31.05.11, the system would pick the rate of 30.04.2011 only as there is no rate maintained as on 31.05.11 on the date of transaction. And later, if you would have maintained the exchange rates for the entire month for the individual day of May, and when you processed a document type BK, the system would have picked the actual rate maintained in OB08 as on 31.05.11 ie 0,87XXX. Hence may be the difference.
    Please check whether the above was the scenario with you (by referring to the changes option referred by the experts).

  • Problems with Sampling rate in LabVIEW with 1/4 bridge strain gage

    Hello,
    I have a question.  I have SCXI 1001 and am trying to read strain gages and thermocouples.  In the slot 1 I have a 1122/1322 with thermocouples that works great.  In slot 2 I have a 1121/1321 that needs help.  I cannot figure out how to make a LabVIEW program to read the strain gage.
    Is computer hardware a factor?  I have a relatively old Dell, 1.7 ghz, 256 MB RAM, and all of my programs bog my machine down.  My thermocouple program with 1 functioning channel takes almost 2 minutes to load.
    Anyway, I program the DAQ assistant like I think it should be done, but I am having problems with the sampling rate.  Everytime I run the program I get an error message saying that it could not get the recommended samples in time.  I have had my delay time on my While Loop as low as .25 s and as high as 1.5 s.  I have changed my sampling rate from 1 hz to 1000 hz.
    I would really appreciate any and all help on this matter.  I am still very new to LabVIEW. <I could not contain my excitement when my thermocouple program worked>
    Thanks,
    CDawgttu

    Hi CDawgttu,
    I think the best thing that we can do for the moment is to try and see what the maximum rate you can get on the 1121 is, when working on its own.
    According to the DataSheet the 1122 is more likely to be what's slowing you down.  There could also be some concerns with how the internal jumpers are set on the 1121, so you may want to make sure that the settings there match how you have configured your board in Measurement and Automation Explorer.
    -You can set this up by right clicking on the SCXI module and adjusting the Properties.  On the Jumpers Tab you should then make sure the values match what you've set internally (SCXI-1121 User Manual - Chapter 2)-
    When you use just the 1121, see if that makes a difference in your overall application speed.
    Finally, it may be easier to use an example program than the DAQ Assistant since you are using such an old machine.  You can find Strain Gauge examples by opening LabVIEW and following this path:
    Help > Find Examples > Browse > Hardware Input and Output > DAQmx > Analog Measurements > Strain > Cont Acq Strain Samples.vi
    I hope some of these tips get you pointed down the right path.

  • Issues with bit rate on Itunes purchases

    For some of my purchases I cannot seem to upgrade the bit rate from 128kbs?  How do I do this. also, some of my album purchases seem to have disappeared.  How do I get them back?  regards Edward

    I know that Itune sPlus ended but I understood that you could delete your downloaded files and redownload them and they would be at 256k.  is that correct?
    Edward,  Yes, if you subscribe to iTunes Match.  Look at this document, and read the section on "Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?":
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1711
    iTunes Match costs $24.99 in the USA iTunes Store, probably a bit higher in the UK Store.
    I have an album that seems to have disappeared from my purchases on the itunes store.  how do I get that back?
    Do you mean that it disappeared from your library?  If so, and assuming it is still available in the store, you can redownload fresh copies by following the link in my earlier post.  This action does not require Match.

  • Problem with frame rates

    Hi all
    I imported HD footage using easy setup and apple intermediate codec i50 (I am in Australia) assuming that was correct. When i exported the sequence to soundtrack it identified the video as being 1920 x 1080 and at 29.97 frames per second. I checked 'item properties' on my clips in the sequence, and they came up as 1440 x 1080 (which acording to my camera specs is correct) but they also identify the frame rate as 29.97.
    Is this right? I would have thought the frame rate should have been 25 fps since i used Apple intermediate codec i50 when i captured from tape. I am assuming my Sony A1P would use 25 fps as it is an Australian purchase. SD projects i have shot were all in Dv-PAL. Am a bit concerned as i am about to render and export. Any thoughts or advice much appreciated...

    Actually I realised the problem- the footage captured correctly at 25 fps but the sequence itself was set to 29.97fps. So all the stills etc I added are at 29.97 fps- I will try to cut and paste into a new sequence hopefully that works.

  • Problem with Exchange rate field in MBEPOH in 4.7

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on data transfer of POs from 4.6 to 4.7 using the standard extract program RM06EEEX and then loading it using LSMW.
    Problem is with the exchnage rate field(WKURS). Length of this field in MBEPOH is 9 characters in 4.6 and it is 1 character long in 4.7
    So the data is getting truncated becuase of this mismatch. Is there any sap note avaliable to correct the field length MBEPOH-WKURS or any other way to pass correct data to the strucure.

    Maybe you can use Idoc PORDCR1 (Create Purchase Order) as import method in LSMW.
    Exchange rate field (WKURS) corresponds to field EXCH_RATE in E1BPMEPOHEADER segment.

  • Problems with bit shift left in Formula Node

    Hi,
    Sorry but my English is not good.
    I'm trying to execute a bit shift left in the Formula Node, but the shift left is not working as I expected.

    controle = parametro[1]<<8 | parametro[0];

    indiceResposta = (controle >> 10);
    valorAmostra = valor & 0x7FFFFF;
    valorAmostra = valorAmostra*(2.4/8388607);
    if((valor & 0x800000) == 0x800000)
    valorAmostra = valorAmostra*(-1);
    the input param array is of the type uInt8, as I saw in other topics that does not shift with uInt8,
    I copy the values of param array to parametro which is of type  uInt32, but still did not work.
    Testing the input param with the following values:
    param[] = {10,14,10,0,16}
    the valorAmostra returned is 0,00117188 when he should be 0,300003.
    Can someone help me please?

  • Problems with sample rate

    hello:
    I have a sound blaster audigy platinum ex and I'm trying to make some recordings with adobe audition, but this program works at 44khz and the sound card seems to work only at 48khz, so it doesn't let me recording. how can I change the sampleing rate of the card?
    thanks.

    By setting it in Audition audio settings. W/ ASIO device drivers you can have 16-bit/48kHz (and IIRC, 24-bit/96kHz) mode(s) only). For other modes you need to use other device driver mode. Also, Asio4All should handle all modes (16/24-bit and 44.1, 48 and 96kHz).
    - http://www.asio4all.com
    The quality in 44.1kHz mode is POOR for your card. If you switch to 24-bit/44.1kHz quality is otherwise better but the frequency gets cutted already around 15kHz.
    You get the best quality by setting the sample rate to 96kHz (16 and 24 bit resolution are ~same in these cards) for recordings (for project?) and then when export the final mix just use SRC to CD quality (Audition do have quite good SRC quality but, if you use additional software for SRC (like Voxengo r8brain (free)), export the final mix using 96kHz and then execute SRC).
    Something more on Creative ASIO -

  • Problem with exchage rates

    Hi all,
    We have an issue in the customer profitability analysis report as the exchange rates are not updated in the report when
    compare to r3 report.
    We have done the required changes to be done RSA1>>SOURCE SYSTEM>>TRANSFER EXCHANGE RATE>>transfer exchange rates again. later we check the TCURR table in bw and r3 the entries are correct and are same number of records and we execute the report again, still the user are facing the same problem .
    For Oct,Nov 2010 and jan 2011 the exchange rates are correct but for december it is giving november's exchange rate.
    I check in the customer profitability analysis report, In filter the fiscal year variant is set to K4.In the properties of
    the revenue key figure I found the corrency conversion "Y rate currency conversion for billing" under the currency conversion
    key.
    Is there any thing needs to changed please help me.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    You need to check the currency Conversion type which you have maintained in Tcode RSCUR.
    Also Check if at all any Exchange rates are maintained for the month of December. If no exchange rates are maintained for the month of December than the latest applicable exchange rates will be effective. Double check the entries in TCURR table for the month of Deccember and the date of effectivness of the exchange rates. the date being in other format you can translate the date using Exit 'CONVERSION_EXIT_INVDT_INPUT'.

    Hi
    In you queries....are you using any calculated key figures?
    There is a option in calculated key figures to maintain currency conversion at the query level.   So if you are using a calculated keyfigures go to the properties of the calculated keyfigure and key figure in query....all the properties you have option of giving currency conversion...........uncheck them and execute the query
    Assign points if useful
