Problem with blue colour

Good evening to everyone! i was given by a friend, an old but fully functional printer officejet g55. After working fine for a year, it suddently stopped printing blue ink, causing many problems as i tend to print in color a lot. I tried to manualy clean it, as i have the basic technical knowledge, but it just won't print in blue. So, i don't know what to do. I tried cleaning the catridges via the pc suite, and af course, replacing the ink catridges with new ones, but unforunatelly nothing worked!  What should i do, because i really can't transport it to a technician, as it is quite heavy and i do not have a vehicle! The most likely cause of missing cyan (blue) is an old cartridge.  You can check by removing the cartridge and gently blotting the nozzles on a damp tissue.  You will likely see a strong blot of magenta and yellow, but only a weak smudge of cyan.  A fresh new cartridge would likely resolve the issue.  You can check the warranty date on the cartridge as shown in the document here.  The cartridges do not have an expiration as such, but old cartridges may have one or more colors missing, depending on how they were stored.
In some cases you may be able to recover a cartridge by soaking the printhead nozzles down in about 2" of very hot water for ten minutes.  After soaking gently dry the electrical contacts with a lint free tissue and reinstall in the printer.

  • Problem with blue color in Photoshop CS4 after calibrating monitor

    Hi to all! I would appreciate if someone can help me!
    Before some days I calibrated my monitor with Pantone Huey Pro and after that I find out that photoshop doesn't show blue color corectly. I create a blue (0,0,255) page and it looks a bit like violet, while I don't have any problems with red and green (which are perfect), or with other programs (other programs display blue and all colors correctly). But when I save this blue page and open it with a different program I see the real blue color. So the problem is that during editing in Photoshop blue color isn't correct, it's a bit violet.
    Can anyone tell me why blue color doesn't behave properly in Photoshop? Is there any setting I should change in Photoshop Color Settings?
    I use sRGB on my camera, and sRGB in Photoshop (North America General Purpose 2, sRGB IEC61966-2.1, U.S. Web coated (SWOP) v2, Dot Gain 20%,  Dot Gain 20).

    I update Huey and Photoshop and did the calibration again but it didn't fix the problem. Is it possible that the calibrator doesn't work properly?
    My monitor isn't very new, so I don't think it has wide gamut display.
    When you say that "if your display is not truely sRGB" you mean that maybe the profile created Huey isn't correct? I have done many times the calibration and the result is always the same.
    I think that Paintshop uses color management, too, shouldn't it display the same wrong blue color if Huey's profile is wrong?
    How can I check if Huey works properly? Maybe I should try it on a different PC?

  • Sync Problem with Blu Ray

    I have a sync problem when using Premiere Pro CS5 to burn Blu Ray DVDs and wondered if anyone has had similar problems and has found a simple solution. 
    Equipment:  Panasonic HMC-150 (AVCHD), shot at 59.94 fps, 720.  MacPro with operating system up to date, quad core, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro 4000. PP CS5 also has all current updates downloaded.
    When the AVCHD files are imported, they tend to be out of sync by 8 to 22 frames.  I manually resync and edit.  Then burn a Blu Ray DVD using Encore and end up out of sync again.  I must be doing something wrong but can't figure it out.  At this point, the only solution I can think of is to try to figure out how far out of sync I am once the DVD is burned and offset the audio that amount before transcoding.
    Has anyone encountered this problem before?  Any suggestions?

    I have done some more tests and have determined that the problem only exists with Blu-ray.  When I burn a non blu-ray dvd, video and audio remain in sync. I attempted to export to Final Cut Pro 7 using the export xml feature, but it doesn't work.  I brought the original footage into FCP and burned a portion of it to blu-ray using the Share feature and there was no sync problem.  So I guess my only alternative at this point is to re-edit the entire video in FCP.
    In Premiere Pro I've checked to make sure that both the camera and the intake were set for no drop frame and they were.  I've tried double checking the audio sync using the audio line out from the Mac rather than the firewire out to the Mackie Mixer, just in case there was a latency problem, which didn't seem logical and there wasn't any difference.  It can't be a problem with the blu-ray burner since it works in FCP7.  I'm running out of ideas of things I can tweak in Premiere, other than guessing just how far out of sync the program pushes the audio and then unlinking audio and pushing it the same number of frames the other direction before burning the blu-ray, but that will be hit and miss and it will start getting expensive throwing away blu-ray disks. 
    Any other ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.  Jon

  • Problem with calendar colour categories in iOS 7

    We are running Exchange Server 2007 SP3 and Outlook 2007 SP3. I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4 connected to my Exchange account. When I edit items in Outlook and change the colour category, the updated item appears on my phone. However if I make a change to the updated item on my phone, the updated item appears in Outlook but with a different colour category.
    Here's how I can replicate the issue:
    In Outlook, create a new calendar appointment with the RED colour category labelled "Test 1"
    The appointment "Test 1" appears on my iPhone
    In Outlook, change the appointment "Test 1" label to read "Test 2" and change the colour category to GREEN
    The updated appointment "Test 2" appears on my iPhone
    On the iPhone, make any change to the appointment "Test 2" and save the changes
    The updated appointment appears in Outlook, but with two colour categories selected when there should only be one
    It's almost like the iPhone is picking up the colour category when the item is created, but if the item changes, the colour category value on the iPhone is not replaced with the new one. When the item is pushed back to Exchange, the category value differs from Exchange and is appended to the item on Exchange, thus resulting in two different categories.
    This problem can be replicated on the iPhone 5 and iPad 4, on every user account.
    I would appreciate any help on this one.

    Hi jazz1, are you having the problem with all print jobs or just when you try printing via ePrint e.g. sending a piece of content to your printers email address?.
    If its happening when you're using the printer "normally" (just printing to it from your desktop or laptop PC via the driver) then you need to print a print quality diagnostic page from the printer software on your desktop to see if one or more of the colours is not printing. Checking the ink levels could also tell you if you're out of one or more inks.

  • Is anyone having problems with the colour picker?

    I'm having trouble with the colour picker, I've got some type on a 50% tint of black, when I go to the colour picker and change the colour it still stays as a tint of black even though the colour parameters have changed. It's only when I choose a set colour does the display of colour change on screen, then I can change it with the colour picker as normal. Is this something simple that's changed? Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

    This is a major problem with Lollipop, but yo said it started 2 months ago.   Several people have fixed problem by removing FaceBook And Face book messenger and then re loading the apps again.   You might want to clear your cache before reloading.  Not sure this is your problem, but worth a try.  Good Luck

  • Menu Problem with Blu Ray

    Can anyone help? I've created a project that contains 2 edited movies. I have added a main menu, and given both movies a main menu marker, and an end marker. Normally on DVD's this would send you back to the main menu when each of the films were completed, but I cannot get this to work with Blu Ray. Am I missing something here? What happens in this case is that the Disc starts with the menu, but if you pick the first item, the film will play OK, but instead of reverting back to the main menu, it carries on and shows the next .. and on completion, just terminates - does not go to the menu. The same if you select the second item. it just plays through and terminates. It seems that the End markers are being ignored. Has anyone got any ideas ??

  • Having problems with Spot Colour gradients

    Hello All,
    I have little experience in dealing with spot colours.  I'm trying to blend two spot colours for a print job.  Unfortunately the spot colour gradient (left image) does not blend like the process colour gradient (right image).  Instead they fade to a lighter colour in the center where they meet.  I'm sure someone out there can help as I think this is more of a technical issue that I am simply unfamiliar with.  Thank you in advance to all comments!

    Hello, i run into this all the time.
    What you can do is actually make one spot color overprint (or darken, or multiply) on top of another one.
    that will work,
    What I see you have is one spot color at one end  and another spot color at the other, where they meet you get the "grey".
    The 4/c gradient is a blend of the C<M<Y<K, inks.
    I usually rant over the fact that Illustrator does not have an Ink Manager, to make a swatch of 2 (or more ) spotcolors.
    As far as color gamut goes, 4/c color printing is so passe, right.
    Till Adobe recognizes that printers print with more than the 4/c color space, hexacolor, opaltone, optimized 7, and 8 we just have to improvise.

  • Problems with Blue Tubes software.

    I have just bought Blue Tubes software from Nomad but have been dissapointed with it so far. It does not work with my version of Logic Express or Garageband (or at least - I cannot get it to work) and now I would like to maybe make some mp3 recordings and give them this 'warm analogue sound' that blue tubes is supposed to provide.
    has anyone here had experience of feeding mp3s though blue tubes software - or even getting it to work with 'Blue Tubes' whats the best way to do it.
    any help would be welcome as so far I have been very underwhelmed by this software - as it seems unable to work with anything (I see the options in Logic express - but they are all greyed out).

    I have their "Vintage Studio bundle" which includes those plugins.
    They have worked for me snce day one.
    Please tell me your exact setup, as follows:
    Mac computer type (Intel or PPC)
    Mac OSX version (10.4. which one???)
    Logic Express version.
    Garageband version.
    Blue Tubes version (you do have the latest from their website, yes? juts makgin sure...)
    Then I might be able to help.
    Also, you could ask Nomad Factory themselves. they are very good at finsing and solvign issues when installing their plugins.
    Now, I have had this question asked before, so I'll ask you:
    Did you download and install the AU VERSION??? There are three different installers that Nomad provides: 1. RTAS, 2. VST, and 3. AU Universal Binary.
    If you ONLY downloaded ONE version, and it is NOT the AU version, that is why you cannot see the plugins neither in Logic Express, nor Garageband.
    Please verify this.

    I have a problem importing photos from iPhoto Library 11 to iMovies 11 in order to build a video HD 1080p.
    When iMovie creates the snapshot of the photo, happens that dark photo's colours (above all black) appears ginned with low resolution and, even after the rendering in 1080p, wathing the video via apple TV or in Blu ray disk, this unliky effect on black colour is rilevant

    As a Test:
    Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
    Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
