Problem with Blur filters in effects browser

Has anyone had a problem with the blur filters? Whenever I try to skim or apply any blur effect it freezes the viewer. Other effects are fine. Other functions of FCPX still work ok. The audio is ok, skimming works etc but the viewer is frozen. FCP then hangs on shutdown and requires a force quit, but relaunches fine. I have trashed FCPX permissions, repaired permissions for the OS, repaired the HD and redownloaded the application all to no avail. I also have FCPX installed on another startup drive and it does the same thing there. My computer is an iMAC 27 inch I7 with 4 gigs of RAM runing 10.6.8. FCPX is version 10.0.3.
I did open a copy of the zoom blur effect in Motion and the only unusual thing I noticed was that there is a project loop end marker set at frame 1 of the project. Don't know if that is a factor. Any help greatly appreciated!

I am refering to any of the blur category filters in the effects browser. I think there are like 6 of them sharpen, gaussian, prism, radial, and zoom. What happens is if I select a clip then go to the effects browser and scroll over the filters I will initially see a preview as you are supposed to. But very quickly that stops and if I go back to the timeline the viewer is frozen showing the previously selected clip. All the rest of FCP works normally ie you can scroll the timeline, select clips, use the tools etc. Only the viewer is frozen. You have to force quit FCP and restart to get back to normal. None of the other effects in effects browser cause any problems.
I said in my first message all the things I have tried unsuccessfully. This one is a real puzzler for me.

My system is Windows 7. (GB Ram 8.00 on a Dell Optplex 980) And Photoshop is my newly purchased in Portuguese, because I'm Brazilian. The problem appears when I try to use the Filters menu - finishes - lighting effects.
My old version worked just fine ...

Problems with Quicktime (Q?) in browser

I am having a problem with Quicktime working in my browser (we use Firefox). Quicktime is up to date, but everything in the browser that should be running just comes up as a Q with a question mark in the middle. I have checked the browser settings and everything seems fine. Any ideas?
whoops, just caught the other topic with the same problem....no answers there yet though...we did update our flashplayer and still no help.

Go to QT settings>Browser>Mime settings>Miscellaneous-Miscellaneous file formats and uncheck Flash media.
This has been going on for years and Apple computer refuses to correct the problem. It is beyond belief that Apple continues with this, but they can't market computers to the general public either. They send me e-mails to test their products and software that they want to test on a windows computer. I will consider doing it, but can't, with the Flash screw up going on...

Problems with drill filters

In BO XI, I am facing problems with drill filters. I have a report with eight tabs and each tab has data corresponding to a particular value in the drill filter. A particular value is selected from the drill filter and the corresponding data is displayed in each tab. I need to select a value from the drill filter and display the corresponding data in the tab; while doing so when i save the report and open it again, the data corresponding to the particular filter value is not present instead it displays all the data. The only other way i could solve this problem was by creating a report level filter in each tab but this doesnt seem to work in other reports. What is the proper way of using the drill filter in this case?

Problems with the OWB Runtime Audit Browser

I executed some mappings in my project
I go to the Client Browser Version of the OWB Runtime Audit Browser (before I Started OWB OC4J Instance).
I specified the Runtime Repository connection information and click in View
Deployment Report or View Execution Report, but, when I access to the Runtime Repository I dont see any data in the web page.
I probed with differents filters but I didnt see data!!!
What is the problem?

Yes, I am sorry, I wanted to say 'I do not see any data', but when I connect (using the access user credentials and the QA User role or any other role), and click 'view execution report' I do not see any data!!!! I dont have any data in the table (Only the name of the repository), I drill down to the details of the execution but I do not see any data!!!
In the Filter Options section are the mappings in a combobox (Execution Filter) but I do not see any data about its!!!
Besides, for example If I execute the query in SQL PLUS: select * from ALL_RT_AUDIT_MAP_RUN_ERRORS.
It has 581 rows
What happens?
Why I dont see any data?

Problem with Flash in the odd browser

Hi y'all, I just created a website, client was very happy,
got paid, end of story...not quite :(
A week later the client called and said they had several
people visit the site who had a problem with the display of the
flash movie. on the home page. One of the machines was in his
office. It was a regular PC running IE6 service pack 1. I thought,
ah ha, thats probably it. Nope, I checked it out on another
identical browser config, and the problem didnt show up.
Here is the page with the flash on it..

Apparently the flash displays about 20 pixels lower on the
screen, creating a gap between the orange bar and the top of the
flash movie. Any ideas?

Problems with servlet filters

I'm trying to implement filters for some of the examples presented in the j2ee tutorial. Thus, I've realized a very simple filter that works very well for the Converter example (mapped to the index.jsp URL). But this filter doesn't work with the Duke's Bank application and I don't understand why. I've tried to map this filter to the Dispatcher servlet and also to different URLs, the filter is actually executed, but the client gets no response from the server.

As you're not actually doing anything in this filter but a quick System.out.print, there doesn't appear to be a problem with the filter code.
What does your web.xml file look like?
Does your IDE allow you to trace through the filter to the next target in the chain? If so, where does the code die? If not, use System.out.print statements to determine how far into the code you get.
No response to the client usually means that the response didn't have any content set. You can verify this by checking the state of the response object after doFilter has been called; if the headers haven't been set then something crashed in a bad way.

Problems with importing to After Effects

Hi,
I can't get my Motion projects imported into After Effects. I have read the manual and done exactly as instructed. When i try to import my Motion project file into AE, I get an error message in AE saying: "files of type "mofo" are not supported. I have no idea where the "mofo" comes from, since the projects are .motn format.
I was wondering if anybody else has same kind of problems, with Motion and AE?
The Motion version I am using is 3.0.2 and After Effects is the CS3 version.

Yes this is a known problem and has been discussed a few times on this forum. It only started being the case with CS3 unfortunately. The only work around is to rename the Motion Project with a .mov on the end of the name, and import to After Effects. This works but means that the very handy feature of 'edit original' stops working, and i've also noticed a number of instabilities (crashes etc) introduced as a result.
We have to hope they'll (apple and adobe) fix this in a future update.

Audio Problems with Fast/Slow/Reverse Effect in iMovie HD

I have been having problems with the Fast/Slow/Reverse effect in iMovie HD with my movie clips. Whenever I apply the effect (reversing at the same playback speed, not sped up or slowed down), when it is finished rendering the audio is choppy, yet on time (but still backwards, as wanted). Before applying the effect, the preview of it works flawlessly, it is only when it is applied that the audio gets choppy. Extracting the audio will not help either because the video will still be playing backwards while the audio will be playing normally (since it can't be reversed on its own). I have tried other effects on the same clips that don't effect the audio and they work perfectly. Any suggestions? I'd really appreciate your help! Thanks.

Have you got an isolated hard drive with ALL of the required applications and other resources together with the operating system ? Using an external HD to SAVE a running iMovie project is asking for problems. Back up the Project on another HD sure, but don't use System on one HD, running files on another.

Problems with Forms view in Web browser

I am having several problems with viewing forms in IE 7.
I am running Oracle 10g. When I run a form for the first time it seems to run ok. Then if I make changes and want to view the changes, the form does not refresh. I also have a problem viewing different forms...IE keeps displaying the initial form instead of the new one. I have to completely shut down Forms Builder and OC4J in order to see a different form, or changes to the current form.
Also, I am having the annoying text problem where after the first view, HTML code appears on the screen and I have to remove a digit from before the HTM part of the URL in order to even attempt to run anything. Refreshing the screen does not work.
Please help...this is really irritating...

is it important for you to use version 7 ?

Problems with lighting in After Effects CC using Mavericks

I recently upgraded to Mavericks this week and installed the Adobe patch so that AE CC will work properly. I am having issues in a comp where I have an ambient light placed in the comp with no keyframes throughout the comp. As I scrub through the timeline, the light suddenly shuts off at a specific point in the timeline. When I render the comp into a .mov file, the light is definately shut down at that point with no keyframe.
In addition, I have added a spotlight to a different comp, moved the start and end of the light to the place I need it. When I scrub through the timeline, the light is coming on about 5 seconds in advance of where I directed it to come on. When I go to a point before the the light is initiated via a keyframe, and the light is on, I click on the "eye" to disable the light and it does shut off. Neither of these were issues in AE CC before Mavericks as far as I am aware.
Can anyone confirm that they have had a similar issue or is there a known fix yet! Thanks to all of the engineers at Adobe for your amazing assistance!

The highlighted button in the Comp panel enables Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) Correction.
So, instead of stretching the footage horizontally, you create a Composition with the same frame aspect and Pixel Aspect Ratio as your source footage (just drag the clip to the New Comp button in the project panel and AE will automate this) and then enable PAR correction and After Effects will give you a corrected (deanamorphized) preview so you won't see it squeezed at all on a computer monitor. When you export it, it will look squeezed until you take it to the target video application. Any professional video application will handle this correctly.Millions of people do this every day, since non-square pixels are still dominant among the most popular video formats.
Even Photoshop has had support for non-square pixels (and PAR correction in the document panel) since CS (ie. Photoshop 8.0).
Note that when you turn on PAR correction (just like when you use odd magnification levels) AE switches to a draft filtering mode, which makes type and other elements look a bit jagged. Don't worry, it's just a preview.
The ideal solution, and the one video professionals rely on, is adding video output hardware to your computer, so you can connect a professional video monitor. After Effects can provide a live preview using such a set-up.

Problems with anamorphic in after effects...HELP!

I've just been given the job of designing a title sequence.The problem is that it's been shot in anamorphic.My question is how do I design a title sequence when I have been given the footage in anamorphic which I have to stretch out to fit the 1920x1080 project composition settings,design the titles and then pop it back to fit the original format for export?All my design work will go to waste as the final sequence will consist of bunched up text and obviously look terrible.There MUST be a simple answer to this problem....

Some problems with my imac + after effects

Hi everybody! Fisrst of all, sorry for my english, i've just started to study seriously...
My problem is: I have an iMac with a few years on its back. Here the specs:
     - iMac
     - Intel Core 2 Duo
     - 2,8 GHz
     - 1 (Processor)
     - Core number: 2
     - Cache Level 2 6Mb
     - Memory 4 Gb
     - Bus speed: 1,07
I'm trying to use after effects in order to make a simple 2' video. And the computer became slower than my turtles...
Any idea or any advice? maybe just add some extra memory? or just a new computer?... Any help will be greatfull!

Mac requirements are v10.7.4 or later > Adobe After Effects CC for Mac tech specs
If your Mac is running v10.6 as noted in your profile, you need to upgrade at the least to v10.7 Lion to run After Effects.

Problems with photoshop elements 11 - effects won´t load

I have problems: when I want to use effects, the stiles and effects on the sidebar won´t load. I ve reinstalled photoshop three times now, it works a day or two and than the same problem occurs. (I ve bought the program for download on amazon). Has anybody an idea, whats wrong? (I´m german, sorry for my english)

You need camera raw 8.4 for your camera, if it’s Digital Rebel T5 EOS 1200D EOS Kiss X70. It is not compatible with PSE11; so it’s a bit odd if that software was bundled with the camera except that it will work with jpegs. I suggest you download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your CR2 files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the DNG files will editable in PSE11(keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)

Problem with IDoc filtering in the distribution model

Hello Experts,
We are using a distribution model in which we have set filters as like the following
Filter Group 1
Plant : XYZ
Sales Org: SAP1
As far as the documentation says this Condition should work with AND logic between Plant and Sales Org
(i.e ~ Plant XYZ and SO SAP1 ) but the IDoc gets created even if any one of the condition is met(looks like working in OR logic).
How to achieve the AND filtering between the different objects.
Would appreciate your kind help.

So that's the filtering problem.
I would check in which segments are the "filtering objects" located (BD59) and whether it is a mandatory segment. If it is a mandatory segment - IDoc should not be created. If it is an optional segment - this segment and its subsegmets will be filtered out - but IDoc will be created.

Filter Group1 OR Filter Group 2 OR ... Filter Group N

Filter Group 1 Object 1 Value 1 OR Filter Group 1 Object 1 Value 2 OR ... Filter Group 1 Object 1 Value L
