Problem with BO XI R2 ODBC drivers on Linux

I have a customer with BO XI R2 SP1 installed on 64-bit Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9) with an Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 database (on another 64-bit SLES9 server) for the CMS and Auditor repository databases.
I can successfully connect to, and run WebI reports from, Oracle and DB2 UDB databases running on other 64-bit SLES9 servers.
The problem I have is trying to connect to, and run WebI reports from, a SQL Server 2005 database running on 64-bit Windows Server 2003 R2 SE SP1 using ODBC from the 64-bit SLES9 server that hosts the BO XI R2 SP1 installation.
Iu2019ve got as far as the ODBC driver trying to connect to SQL Server 2005 but it fails with the error that the user I supplied is not a Trusted Connection.
Has anyone been able to get BO XI R2 ODBC (running on 64-bit SLES9) to work successfully with SQL Server 2005?
If u201Cyesu201D, can you please tell me what I need to do, including the odbc.ini settings?

Well as I understand it our 1st official support for 64 bit wasn't available until XIR2 SP3. Also something to keep an eye out for is the oracle DB version you are using. There is at least 1 known issue with 10.2.0.3.0 causes our LDAP to fail. You may want to try rolling back to 10.2.0.2.0.

Firefox 6.0.1 causes extreme problems with ATI Catalyst 10.x drivers on a Win7 x64 system. Took me quite awhile to identify, but when I roll back to Firefox 6.0, no problems. Once Firefox recognizes this and reinstalls the 6.0.1 update then severe display driver problems occur causing very erratic display behavior and ultimately rendering the system inoperative. The problem appears to occur within a minute or two after Firefox has been opened and it occurs even if Firefox has been subsequently closed prior to the actual event taking place. I have attempted this 6 times just to ensure that the problem was associated with the 6.0.1 update.

T61 - problem with Vista x64 NVS 140M drivers

Hi!
I have problems with Vista x64 and NVS 140M drivers. Thing is that if I install them, everything will be slideshow, even the audio shutters quite bad and CPU is constantly over 45%. I have tried different driver versions but nothing has helped yet. Any ideas?
I wonder if anyone has the old 7.15.11.0129 driver and could send it to me? Maybe that would help.

Try the following test:
- Go to Vista Sound Control Panel to view the S/PDIF out properties.
- Click on the Supported Format tab page, select Dolby Digital and click Test.
Is the test OK?

Embarrassing problem with ATI HD 5850 (Noise + Drivers)

Hi all. First of all let me warn you that I'm French so sometimes my english will probably be inaccurate.
I experience some problems with my graphic card, a MSI ATI Radeon HD 5850, my screen is a Samsung Syncmaster 2233rz.
The drivers I got with my box was the 9.12 version (something like that).
Here are the games I installed :
Quake 2
Quake 4
Quake Live
Killing Floor
Painkiller
Bioshock
Fear
Fear 2
Starcraft
I did some tests with some of them.
With the basic drivers for the CD of the box :
Quake 2 : Doesn't appear in fullscreen mode, or with awful colors, but if I put the opengl option in the video settings then it's ok.
Quake 4 : Seems alright, but I had to choose a particular resolution or the game would just appear in a small windows in the center of the screen.
Starcraft : The game is horrible, appears in a small window in the upright corner of the screen and with terrible colors.
Quake Live : Seems ok but difficult to find a good resolution so that the image takes the whole screen.
Fear 2 : Seems alright...
Now here comes what disturbs me :
Fear : Horrible sound when I enter the menu that comes from the graphic card. Like a whistling sound, like a teapot getting hot.
Painkiller : Same horrible sound, even louder.
This sound was terrible and I wanted to get the window streched out so that Starcraft and other games would appear in fullscreen mode automatically (I couldn't enable it in ATI Catalyst).
So I installed drivers 10.6 :
Quake Live : Problem with some colors, I heard 10.5 and 10.6 wasn't compatible with Quake Live...
Okay...
So I installed 10.4 :
Possibility to make the screen strech in the Catalyst menu so Starcraft was ok.
Fear : Terrible sound in the menu and game + the game crashes (frozen screen) after 30 seconds of gaming.
Painkiller : Terrible sound in the menu, didn't even play.
Quake 4 : Was pretty much okay, only little annoying sound, but crashes after 30 seconds of gaming (same as Fear).
Quake Live : Ok.
Quake 2 : Was pretty much okay, I could play in fullscreen with the opengl thing.
Fear 2 : All seems ok ( !!!!????).
So...I was pissed off because of Fear and Quake 4 crashes.
Then I went back to the 9.12 version :
Quake 4 : Unlaunchable (LOL, it was ok before I installed 10.6 and 10.4...?????????????????????)
Quake 2 : Impossible to go in OpenGl mode (Was possible previously...?????????????????????)
Fear : Horrible sound but the game doesn't crash it seems.
Fear 2 : Seems ok (good game ^^)
Starcraft : The game is horrible, appears in a small window in the upright corner of the screen and with terrible colors. -> Impossibility to activate the automatic stretching again it seems.
Painkiller : Horrible sound, didn't try to play.
Quake Live : Ok.
What can I do ? I'm currently downloading the 10.1 patch. I want to play all the games, not 3 out of 10 with each patch,
and what is this horrible noise my graphic card seems to do when I play some games (not even all...) ? I try to put the fans at maximum with ATI Overdrive (smthing like that) and that sound wasn't here, so where does it comes from...that's a mistery.
If somebody can be of any help I'll be really happy. I have no problem with the sound if that doesn't mean that the card has a problem and will probably explode one day, but the crashing sound and OpenGl problems and all...
What would you advise to that I get a perfect intallation of the 10.1 version ?

Look for latest game patches, try different VGA drivers if needs too.
It's not hardware issue.

An error with the 7.7 ODBC on the Linux

I have some problems with a new version (7.7.06.09) of the MaxDB database.
My application is a web application on the ExtJSApachePHPZendFrameWorkMaxDB platform.
The MaxDB and other parts are installed on the Fedora Core Linux server.
The PHP is connecting to the MaxDB via ADO+unixODBC interfaces (unixODBC 2.2.14).
I had no problems with the 7.6 version of the database.
But, the problems are appear then I was install the 7.7 version.
A sample query for selecting all children for the current parent have an error now.
In my PHP application I have no answer from the database. If I execute this query
via isql program (DSN with 7.7 ODBC) (from unixODBC) then I see a segmentation fault error.
But, if I connect to the MaxDB 7.7 via ODBC 7.6 driver (from Version = 7.6.06 Build 003-121-202-135)
I have no problem in my PHP application and isql too.
If I execute this query from another computer with Database Studio and Winodws, I have no error too.

Attention! About problems with Oracle 8.1.6 on newer Linux distributions!!

Hello all, I've just got some feedback from a helful person at http://www.crunge.com/ about the problems concerning RedHat Linux 7.0 and Oracle 8.1.6, this MAY apply to other newer linux distributions.
I've tried, without luck, to install Oracle on RedHat 7.0 and Slackware 7 (the newest one), and it would not install properly, kept stopping right about when the database initialization started at 80% finished install procedure. Sp i wrote them a mail, not expecting an answer really, but I did got an answer, and below is what the person said;

Oracle 8.1.6 does not work under Red Hat Linux 7. Yes, that's the problem
that I mentioned in the doc--you get to 80% and the DBCA crashes and the
Oracle executables die.
I've heard, but I haven't tried it myself, that if you install the latest
glibc errata (2.1.94) then the DBCA completes but the Oracle executables
still die. The DBCA problem was apparently a Java issue that is fixed in
the errata. But you're still out of luck since the exes won't work.
It might appear that this is a problem with Red Hat Linux 7. But it appears
that it is a problem with some assumptions that Oracle made, assumptions
that worked with glibc 2.1.3 (the C library included with RHL 6.2) but which
prove false with later glibc versions. As other Linux distributions adopt
the new glibc Oracle will fail to work on them as well.
The best advice I can give at this point is to install and run Oracle on
Red Hat Linux 6.2. Hopefully Oracle will address the glibc issues with the
8.1.7 release.

So i guess one sollution to the problem is to try a bit older version of the linux you are having problems with (i tried it on RH 6.1 and it worked like a dream).
Another solution can be to wait it out to check and see if Oracle put a fix out here on technet...?

OK, so i followed your instructions to the letter (several times), sure I get past the 80% bug but now I have new erros coming up , -"Error in invoking target install of makefile /usr/oracle/sqlplus/lib/ins_sqlplus.mk". I get a whole series of these errors for various mk files. These errors apear during the link phase of the install, prior to the glibc workaround I was not getting this. I am a newbie to Linux and trying to give it a serious go but so far I have had little luck
Any help appreciated.

Translating the local spanish message, should be something like: "Can't find data source and no default driver defined."
I don't get this error if i access through the same driver but not on web server Tomcat 4.0.1. And I don't get this error even under Tomcat with other jdbc drivers (mysql for example).
Someone knows what is happening here?

If you're running on Windows, you need to create an ODBC datasource to connect to.
To accomplish this, you need to go to Start >>> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Data Sources (ODBC),
2. On the User DSN tab, click add
3. give it a name, this is the name you will use in the connection string. jdbc:odbc:<name>
4.Click Select, then find your mdb file, or other database file.
5. click Ok.

Access vba problem with ORACLE database via ODBC

I get a problem when using MS-Access 2007 DAO recordset built on table hosted by an Oracle database 10g and connected thru an ODBC link (the id is generated by a sequence/trigger associated to the table).

I tried also with the same table in a SQL Server database table. In this case it works fine in all cases.
So, I seems that the problem is due to the Oracle ODBC driver.
I search on Internet but I have not found any explanation or solution.
Does anybody experiment the same problem (and find a solution)?

Problems with Samsung dvd and nforce drivers..

Something funny with my pc.
I just got everythng and insalled Wiin xp. Everything working..
both of my cd rom drives show up
1 lite-on cdr
1 samsung dvd 606f
then I install Nforce driver pack from Nvidia and everything works ... but
with Nforce ide controller idriver installed ....
Only one of my drives is detected.
1 lite-on CDR
no DVD
If i switch it back to windows standard IDE Primary and Secondary drivers it comes back..
Any thoughts.....

the Nforce drivers tend to be a bit picky about jumper settings ensure that your optiacal drive jumpers are set to master & slave. Nvidia doesnt work to well with cls. Alternatively you can just run wwith the MS ide drivers.

Problem with SDA Deployment for JMS drivers for Tibco EMS

I was trying to deploy the latest JMS driver files for TIBCO EMS 6.0.1.
I have followed all the procedure that was given in the note 1138877 and also referred the following article

As per the error message it is mentioning about a missing jar file, but I have added all the required jar file in the sda and updated the same in the provider.xml.
So just wanted to make sure if I have missed anything.
Other thing what i wanted to mention here is, while adding the jar file to the default com.sap.aii.adapter.lib.sda file, there was a jar file named "com.sap.aii.adapter.lib_api.jar", I deleted this and added the updated Jar files for the EMS 6.0.1 drivers, Is this correct or do we need to have this com.sap.aii.adapter.lib_api.jar file as well in addition to the required driver files.
Please let me know your thoughts and if I have missed anything.

Having problem with loading Oracle 8.1.7 on Linux-Mandrake 8.0

I have done all necessary files that needed to be downloaded and installed. When i try to run "./runInstaller" it gave me an error saying that a whole bunch of files were unowned and on top it would say System Monitor ok. Please help....Thanks

I've installed the updates for glibc but the installer just hangs at the first screen. I get to the screen where I can click to see previously installed products, deinstall products, or click next to continue with the install. When I click next though nothing happens.
I've done the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 but it didn't change anything.
Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this situation?<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Are u using KDE? try switching to gnome. I hit this problem after updating to the lastest kdelibs but switching to gnome work fine for me. Remember not to create the database during installation, apply the oracle patch, then everything will be OK.

Problem with oracle 10g express edition installation on linux(opensuse)

This is the error it give's me when i install the software. The error come after i set http port and the acces port to database

Numlock Problem with Sun Solaris 10 remote login into Linux

Hi,
I am using a Sun Solaris 10 system in a network. The Num lock key works fine when launching application locally on the the Solaris system.
However, when I login from the Solaris 10 machines remotely into a Linux machine, set the display to my machine(i.e solaris 10) and then launch GUI applications, the Num Lock key does not work as expected.
Can any of you help me with this issue ?? Is this a documented problem ?
Is there any workaround for this issue ??

Need help in making SAS/Access to ODBC work with Oracle on a Linux OS machine.

Problem with Flash 10.0.12.36 in Linux

I am a Linux user who has regularly updated flash player --
until now. In the past, I download the .tar.gz file from the Adobe
web site and copy the libflashplayer.so file from the file into my
~/.mozilla/plugins folder. As soon as I did this, my Firefox and
Opera browsers were updated to the latest version.
This simple procedure no longer works. When I copied the
10.0.12.36 version of libflashplayer.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins
folder, Flash Player ceased working in my browsers.
Is there a bug of some sort in the latest release? Is there a
different procedure for updating Flash? The installer script
doesn't do anything besides copy the libflashplayer.so file to the
folder specified. I can do that without the help of the installer.
Also, I noticed that there is no flashplayer.xpt file contained in
the .tar.gz file. When I run the installer, there is no
flashplayer.xpt file copied over. Is this a change from the
previous versions?

As I told you in your other post (but I'll do it again for other users):
The libflashplayer.so goes into the /home/<username>/.mozilla/plugins directory
After that, restart Firefox and off ya go......Back to XP, because Flash is still not working with Linux It's still choppy and fullscreen hangs even more.
