Problem with bookmark

I don't know why or how but when I go to safari and apple web page opens ,the area for bookmark is shaded gray and I cannot type anything in the bar or move to other search engine sites can anyone figure this out?

Check that you are using a qualified hostname in the URL .. if this is not the case, the system cannot locate the object.
Perhaps, by subsequently refreshing, the hostname is filled.

Problems with bookmarks after update to version 16

My bookmarks used to appear in the bookmark drop-down menu but now are only available in the bookmark sidebar. I have tried the reset to default option. I have tried deleting the places.sqlite file and the localstore.rdf file from the profile, but no change. Should I also try deleting the places.sqlite-shm and places.sqlite-wal files??
How can I get my bookmarks back to where they were?
Also, I am unable to export bookmarks to html -- goes through the motions, but no file is created.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Had problem with bookmarks, history, back button and google links not working.

For the last five days i've had problems with firefox. First, i noticed that it was running incredibly slowly and then that all the links in the google search were not working. Then i noticed that neither was the history, bookmarks or back button. I went on to facebook chat to ask for help. First, I was told to reinstall firefox, which didn't work. Then i was told to do a "clean" install where you rename the old firefox folder in the programs folder so that it makes sure when it's installed that everything is new and nothing is corrupted. That didn't work either. I then disabled my antivirus software and firewall to see if that was causing the problem. It was not. Then I installed an anti-malware program to remove any adware or spywar,e which it did remove from my computer, but it didn't solve the problem. The chat person was at a loss and I don't blame him/her because so was I.
The reason I'm writing this is in case anyone else has the same problem. The only way I solved it was first by uninstalling and making sure to check the little box asking if you want all personal data and such associated with firefox also removed (which removes cookies as well) and then I finally thought to delete all the cookies from the rest of my computer also. Once all the cookies were gone and i had fully uninstalled firefox and personal data, I reinstalled it with a newly downloaded file and it is once again functioning properly. Hope this is helpful to anyone who's been ripping their hair out. :)

Upgraded to 3.6.9 and now will not bookmark, automatically reloaded 3.6.2 twice, now on 3.6.10 same problem with bookmarking, safe mode makes no difference

After upgrading to 3.6.9 firfox will not bookmark some pages, once would not load, has twice atomatically re-installed 3.6.2. Upgraded again to 3.6.10 had have same problem with bookmarking

Try updating your drives firmware. Click 'Firware Updates' on the right hand side of this page, then follow the instructions and download the update, then install. See if that helps. Its worth updating the firmware anyway :P

I have a problem with bookmarks, all the time when I start Firefox the bookmarks is deleted, or not there. And I need to import them again and again, also the cookies, cash are deleted.

Problems with BookMarks Synchronization through iTunes

Hello,
I would like to synchronize Safari Bookmarks with iTunes.
I have no problem with my iPad and my iPhone 4S, as soon as I unactivate Safari iCloud Synchronization, I can choose in iTunes to synchronize bookmarks.
But with my iPhone 4, when I unactivate iCloud Synchronization, in iTune, it's written that My bookmarks are synchonized in OTA mode on my iPhone from MobileMe ....
I don't know why we are talking about MobileMe ...
I suspect that the iphone have still some information about an old MobileMe account (before iCloud ...) and I don't know at all how I can delete that ...
I have receive my new iPhone 5 to replace the 4, I was hoping that this problem would be solved, but as I have restored an iPhone 4 backup on my iPhone 5 in order not to hav to define all parameters again, I now have the same problem on my iPhone 5.
If someone know haw I can delete these old MobileMe information in order me to be able to simply synchronize bookmarks through iTunes, it would be wonderful.

1.Make sure that the files that you are trying to sync are of the .Mp4 formatt.
2.If so, skip to step '4' If not, go to download.com and search for "free ipod video converter"
3.Follow the steps provided by the program to convert the files
4.Drag and drop the .mp4 files into the ipod icon in itunes like you would for a song.

I have a problem with bookmarks page not allowing me to move up and down the page on the "show all bbokmarks" "bookmarks menu"page

I am trying to set up Sync to enable me to use bookmarks on my desktop and laptop. When I have either one using sync, I can open the bookmarks page using "show all bookmarks" "Bookmarks menu" .But when i try to navigate the page, the page locks up and I can not page up and down the page. the page seems to be locked. Any ideas or should I delete the account and attempt to start over?

Problem with Bookmarks in Adobe Professional 9.3.2

I recently upgraded to Word 2007 and Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.3.2. From the Bookmarks tab on the Acrobat PDFMaker dialog box, I need to select both headings and styles to create the bookmark hierarchy required for the PDF files. However, when the PDFs are generated, the section titles in the Bookmarks panel don't reflect the hierarchy I established on the dialog box in Word, and many of the section titles are missing. This functionality had worked correctly with Word 2003 and Acrobat Professional 7.1.
The only workaround I found was to select all three check boxes at the top of the Bookmarks tab and then delete the Word Bookmarks "chapter" that is added automatically at the bottom of the Bookmarks panel when the PDF is corrected. Also, this solution only works if the Word document has at least one manual bookmark inserted. Does anyone now how to correct this problem? Thanks!

Strange problem with bookmarks

Longtime user, first time poster, as they say.
Using InDesign 5.5, I am creating documentation for a software product and I have about 1600 pages of documentation split over three volumes. I'm using the Book function and to start with I have three standard documents in each book - ToC (with front cover), Intro, all the chapters as separate documents, then an outro (with outro text and back cover). I have use a single document as the basis for all these documents, which was created based on a previous version.
Most of the chapters work well, with their contents getting put in the single ToC at the start of the book however at the end of the PDF I have several bookmarks that are taken from the original document that I used as a basis. It isn't going to be easy to talk about this in the forum without showing you at least the PDF, but I'm not really willing to post my work online directly since it is commercially sensitive.
Attached is an image showing the Bookmarks panel of the PDF for one of the volumes, but since all are based on the same initial model document, all three have the same problem to a lesser or greater extent. You will see several "Introduction" groups that contain the same info as the ones that are opened.
Clicking on the bookmarks in these repeated Introduction bookmarks takes to the "right" place in the document in the sense that they are legitimate Introductions, just not a single generic bookmark. That's to say that although the bookmark text is repeated, each one takes you to a different introduction.
I've had a look in the binary for each document file and effectively there are mentions of things like "Preparing the Hard Drives for Basic Network Rendering", but there aren't in the docs inside InDesign or using Ctrl-Y (just in case).
Any ideas?

Replying to my own question, I'm sure this is just a patch over the problem rather than a resolution, but I have found that if I go to the page indicated by the "false" bookmarks and actually create a Table of Contents that I place off the page so it won't be seen in the PDF, all is well.
Posting this in case a) someone can give me a more correct solution and b) to help anyone faced with the same problem.

Why is my Mozilla Version 6.0.1 having problems with Bookmark Export and Import (html) ?

I have used this feature numerous times with no problems. Starting yesterday, when I export html bookmark file, I get a delay - and then the html file is extraordinarily large (16,400 KB versus 782 KB normal file size).
Also, when I attempt to import a saved html file, the new file will not save. Again, when I hit the "Export" or "Import"button, there is a prolonged delay.
Should I delete Mozilla and reinstall ?

Thanks for the insight. I seem to have solved the problem and can now sync iCal with my phone's calander as I used to without using iCloud. I am running the same setup as you (iTunes 11.0.1, osx 10.6.8, iOS 6.0.1) so, if you want, I'm sure you can do this too (although it seems you now hae found a good solution yourself). Anyway, here it is for the archives:
When my phone was connected to iTunes, iTunes was showing that my Calander was being updated over the air by iCloud. It was not giving me any other options to choose which calanders to sync etc. So...
On your iPhone, go to settings>>iCloud and turn calandars OFF.
Now when you connect it to iTunes you can see all the old options under calandars and syncing between the two devices is back to 'normal'.
I don't know when this iCloud setting got switched on my phone (I didn't even know it existed before this episode), probably when I updated iOS/iTunes recently.

Safari problems with bookmarks

I am sometimes finding that Safari > bookmarks > show all bookmarks … is not showing all bookmarks. It shows the latest bookmark in a black rectangle and a blank space where it would normally show 'Go to …' The infamous coloured wheel appears and the screen locks. I have sent reports to Apple as requested. Anyone else finding this problem or have ideas as to the cause. Note; it is not invariably the case, just now and then. And does not occur in Firefox.

Thank you for your interest, Allan. I have only 6 extensions, Adblock 2.7.5, Helvetica The world, WOT, Translate, Ultimate status bar and ASC power tools. Following your suggestion, all aspects were disabled and turned off. The situation remained until I noticed an unapplied update from Adblock 2.7.5. to 2.7.10. I've now applied that, turned everything on and I will check further but signs are that things are back to normal. I'll mark your post tomorrow, Allan, if all stays good. Thank you again.

OK, it now sort of works. A couple of problems here:
After updating IOS, Safari iCloud was "automatically" switched off
Switching it on had no effect
resetting my iPad automatically switched off safari iCloud again
after switching it back on, it said "turning off safari data"
switched it off and on again, now it said : "turning on safari data" and the sync worked
On IOS 7 no problems
The bookmarks not being displayed was because after pressing the book icon, it defaulted to showing the history and I had to press "Back" to get to the other options

Im having a problem with Firefox opening web pages that i have set as my home page such as Google also will not open Yahoo but will open most bookmarked pages

After starting Firefox the Firefox homepage comes up with the google search, but if i enter anything in the search bar, nothing happens it just says done. Also my homepage is Google, imported from Internet Explorer, but doesn't come up when i start Firefox, And Also at the top on the tab it just says untitled. Now with that being said if i enter in yahoo or yahoo.com in the search tab or even enter in the actual web address, it still doesn't open it just says done at the bottom of the page and nothing happens, But if i go to the Bookmarks also imported from Internet Explorer it will open or display most all of the web pages it just seems to be having problems with search engines such as Google, and Yahoo. Now if i enter Ask.com in the web address search tab it will open that page but if i enter Google.com or Yahoo.com nothing. Also like i said most all bookmarks will open but yahoo or my yahoo that is saved in Bookmarks will not. and nothing happens with any entry made into the Google search displayed on the the Firefox Start Page.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.

PDF Initial Browser doesn't open PDF with Bookmarks as initial view - Problem (Help)

page opn my client and it opens with the bookmarks. I publish the
file from my PC via Contribute and open it with my browser and it

I don't believe this is a "Contribute" issue at all. I'm having the same problem with a .PDF of my own that I've published to the Web and I'm not using that software.
I had one original .pdf file that had no bookmarks. Bookmarks were then added to the doc and resaved. On the new version I have the document's file properties set to open bookmarks on initial view. The document opens fine locally on my computer, but when I publish to the web (not using contribute), and then try to open the .pdf via hyperlink it opens in MSIE and the bookmarks do not appear on initial view. It's driving me crazy.
I'm wondering if this is some sort of adobe cache issue? Where it's opening the document like the original? Or if it's something to do with MSIE? I have already cleared my browser cache and I also updated my adobe acrobat preferences to NOT restore last view settings when opening documents.
I have tried adding #pagemode=Bookmarks to the end of the URL to the doc...
Everything I've read and researched on line tells me I have done all I can do. Are we just $#!+ out of luck here or what's the deal Adobe?
