Problem with browser in Nokia N8

Hello everybody
I just installed Symbian Anna in my phone, everything works right but one thing.
When I try to open a link included in an email the browser opens and immediately closes and I cannot see the contents of the link.
Same happens for example when I try to update Angry Birds from inside the game, the browser opens and then immediately closes without telling me if there is an update.
I tried turning off the block pop ups setting but it is not that.
Anyone has noticed that? Does anyone knows how to solve it?
thank  you!

Good point.   I know the button he clicks on says CONTACTS, and the screen he gets is not the call log - it's the screen you would see after clicking on a particular contact, so the phone is ready to call that person.  The contact that shows up, is the contact for the last person he dialed.
This may well be due to my phone having SPB Mobile Shell on it, but it's easy to test if someone else has a N8.
Call someone in your contact list, anyone.  Hang up.  Go to CONTACTS and click on it.  Do you get the contact information for the person you've just called (as he does), or do you get the normal list of all your contacts?
I will ask if he is willing to test out your other idea - he can download the trial version of SPB Mobile Shell, and see if that changes anything.  Personally, I don't see how anyone would not want to keep SPB once they've tried it, but that is irrelevant.  I'll also go check the SPB settings - I think the program gives you some options of what should happen when you select various things.  Maybe that is why my phone is working as it does.  I'll have a better answer to that, once someone else does the above test on their N8, so we'll know which of our phones is doing what Nokia intended (unless there's some hidden menu somewhere I haven't yet been able to find....)

  • Problem With Browser

    Hi,
Can any one help me with a problem with my Firefox browser, I have recently been troubled with "Bing or Conduit" taking over as the apparent browser.
Not sure whether or not I have inadvertently clicked on something?.
    Blackrockguy

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, back up all data, then follow these instructions.
If the instructions don't work, proceed as follows.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). From the Finder menu bar, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder…
Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If it does, delete the selected item.
    Repeat with this line:
    /Applications/Toolbars
Now you're deleting a folder named "Toolbars". You may be prompted for your login password. Next, copy this line:
    /Library
Select Go to Folder… again and paste. Don't delete the Library folder. Delete only the following items inside it, if they exist.
    Application Support/Conduit
    InputManagers/CTLoader
    LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
Close the Finder windows you opened. Log out and log back in.
I've seen a report that Conduit may be bundled with a scam "utility" called "MacKeeper." If you installed MacKeeper, you should remove it according to the developer's instructions. It's worthless and causes many problems reported on this site.

  • Problems with browsing on Safari and Firefox since Leopard upgrade ??

Ever since I upgraded to Leopard, I am experiencing consistent problems while browsing. Both Firefox and Safari stall when I click on links or try to load pages. The browsers just appears dead and the loading icons just stall. Firefox is much worse than Safari with every 3rd or 4th click causing a stall. I have to wait about a minute before the click is recognized and the page is loaded.
I thought it might be my airport connect but I have other Windows comps on the same network and they don't have the problem.
I haven't seen any thread in the Safari discussions about this and can't find anything on the net about it either.
Anyone know what the problem might be?
    Safari 3.1.1
    Firefox 2.0.0.14
    Leaopard 10.5.2

There were no error messages in the console for the stalling. However after I plugged the ethernet cable into the Imac, the problem seems to have gone away.
This is good but how can I fix the problem with my airport wireless connection ?

  • Problem with sending sms - nokia x3

    Hello,
I've got a problem with sending sms in my nokia x3 - actually with recently used number. I sent messages, but the list is the same. There is only one number although I used many more. I removed this number from the list, but is still here. I also tried to turn off the phone and pull out the battery, restart factory setting but there's no change.
    Could somebody help me, please?
p.s. Sorry, but my english isn't well. I hope the post is understood

Check if there is any relation with the LOG... When you clear the log.. (selecting ALL).. is it removing details from the RECENTLY USED too...
To confirm this select Clear Log.. and check if that one no. you are talking about still remains or not.. If its no more there means you must have cleared the log just before using the last no. that is appearing..

  • What's the problem with T-Mobile nokia phones?

I recently bought a nokia 5300 T-Mobile here in Kenya but then am experiencing problems accessing local networks that is SAFARICOM and CELTEL.I tried consulting and everyone seems to believe that the T-Mobile phones are just like that...have network problems. I understand T-mobile is south African (though not sure. Could somebody out there help me? what do I need to do to help solve the problem?

In addition to the previous answers, the problem with the Seagate HD's involved in the recall is that they have a very high failure rate, to the extent that Apple expanded the recall to cover more computers than it initially did. For example, a user on Macintouch (another online Mac support community that is well worth checking out) reported that his company bought 40 iMacs and 25 of them needed their 1TB Seagate drives replaced.
So if you can, get somebody with access to your computer to backup its HD as soon as possible if you don't already have a full backup.

  • Problems with browser loading and finder menus

I have a MacPro Tower using airport to connect to a DSL modem. Recently I am having problems with very slow loading of web pages, often showing "Can't Find Server" errors. The problem is not with my DSL provider, because I have two older Macs in the house using the same DSL line and they are working fine. Video tutorials on Adobe's site are freezing about two minutes in and never load entirely (not a problem on the other Macs). This happens with any browser so not a browser problem. Also when quitting applications on occasion the finder menu continues to show the menu for the application I have just quit and seems reluctant to go back to finder or another application.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Similar problem here: sometimes ALL browsers (Safari, Camino, Firefox) stuck randomly on certain web pages.
If I force close the browsers, the program remain in Dock (but not in Process Monitor or in Terminal) and the machine refuse to restart (but others programs works as well).
Even if I submit a "sudo reboot" the machine remains in unknow state.
The only way to exit from this situation is to do an hard reset.

  • Strange Problem with my E7 - Nokia

    Hi Readers,
I have encountered a stupid problem with my E7. Last night while talking on the phone (on Low Battery), the phone suddenly turned OFF, so I thought this was due to Low Battery rather No Battery. Later last night, I came home and plugged on the charger and ever since I have been getting this Light (when the phone is on charge) which is Blinking. The whole night it was on charge, only to realize, this blinking light stops after a certain while, this morning I tried to restart my phone and it bloody doesn't turn on... so:
    1) Is there a problem with the phone/battery
    2) is the Blinking light at the charging point common
Note: The screen is been blank till now (its been what 12 hrs approx)...
    So any suggestions please...

    Hi ksarat16,
Sorry to hear about the issue but welcome to the forum! The light next to USB-port is meant to blink while the phone is being charged. Try the following actions to make your phone working again.
Press the power button until the phone vibrates 3 times (approx. 10 sec). Then turn it on.
If this does not work, then try to connect it to PC with USB-cable and open Nokia Suite. Try to power on again.
In case you can turn it on, you can perform these actions in order prevent the phone to freeze again:
First of all make a back up with Nokia Suite. Type in *#7780# = soft reset, no data lost.
You can also reinstall the phone software. The process is the same as when updating with Nokia Suite, but at the end select "Reinstall".
Type in *#7370# = hard reset, phone memory will be wiped. Restore back up.
If the first 2 actions fail, please take the phone to your local Nokia Care point and let them inspect it.
Hope you get your phone working again!

  • Services are up and running - problem with browser access to Apps instance

We are using 11.5.10 and I have just finished a clone from our TEST environment.
We cannot connect to the login screen however.
I suspect there is a problem with the address we are using
http://*****.********l.com:8002/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp is the address for our TEST instance. and 8003 was for the previous encarnation of our newly cloned system.
Which configuration file can I check to see how this instance was configured?
I am looking at the adcfgclone returns and see nothing much except
Target system proxy hostname (used default)
Target system proxy port [80]: (left as this)
Should I check the context file for the new instance?
I am checking the webport , but no luck.
Again, in the context file, I see
    <oa_web_server>
    <!-- Host & Domain -->
    <hostname oa_var="s_webhost">****cl</hostname>
    <externURL oa_var="s_external_url">http://****cl.****.com:8004</externURL>
(8004 was the last port used for this instance before cloning)
Should I check any specific table in the new instance??
    Thanks,
    DA
Or am I jumping the gun here? Do I need to initialize paraemeters first? (note 216205.1)

Well, checking here oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/logs in the error_log :
    I see
    Cannot load /oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/libexec/mod_mmap_static.so
into server: A memory address is not in the address space for the process.
But the last date I see is for June (although the file itself is dated from yesterday)
Furthermore, in the error_log_pls, I see similar returns but again, the last date is from August:
    Cannot load /oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/libexec/mod_mmap_static.so
into server: A memory address is not in the address space for the process.
Syntax error on line 232 of /oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd_
    pls.conf:
    Cannot load /oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/libexec/mod_mmap_static.so

  • Weird problem with my phone (nokia 5233).. :|

    Hi,
I purchased a nokia 5230/5233 a month ago, everything worked fine until until the day before, at about 7:30 in the evening the day before, I discovered my screen wouldnt go into the landscape mode upon tilting, i restarted the phone, removed battery, formatted my memory card (could be a possibility of some corrupt 3rd party software install), later my friend suggested restoring the factory settings, I did so and everything was normal, the screen would go into landscape mode, but yesterday at around same time the problem recurred exactly after about 24 hrs, restored the factory settings and now things work... what could be this problem? can someone throw light into this?

Hi, it may have nothing to do with it, but have you cleared the privacy data in your browser since you got the phone ? It can use up a lot of phone memory and slow things down !
    Good Luck

Now the problem is, even when i am in the open area where satellite status  shows more than 5 available, i am unable to get a lock on my current position. Instead i get "GPS works poorly on indoors..." message. My mobile is still under warranty. Should i need to go and check with Nokia Care center? or is this could a confiugration problem?
i have Assisted, Network and integrated enabled and have GPRS enabled.
Any help would be realy apprecieated
Not to mention, i am on 4x firmware with latest Maps software and also have downloaded India Maps using maps downloader

    Hi KarthikK
This message sounds as if device can't communicate with the "Positioning server" so I would check that it is "supl.nokia.com" and confirm in Destinations > Internet that your desired network access point is prioritized.
Latest Nokia Maps v3.04Beta also utilizes an additional positioning method, Wi-fi/Network to speed up positional fix especially indoors as per screenshot:http://i43.tinypic.com/2mrcq68.jpg

  • Problems with Camera on Nokia n73 music edition

I have a nokia n73 music edition and this is the issue
When I slide down bac cover to open camera sometimes the I don't get image from back camera at all but only from front.
Another this is that today I opened the camera and with the shouter I couldn't take pictures.
I pressed it but nothing occured.
I tried to update the software but no luck because it says that phone has newer software.
I also when I go to the Camera through the main menu then it shows the video of front camera

Format your memory card and try again. Remember to backup all your stuff in the memory card before formatting.
If you still have problems, then try these options one by one:
    1. Turn off your phone and leave your battery out for 5-10min. Then, put them back in and turn on the phone.
    2. Restore factory settings: type *#7780# at the standby screen. Enter 12345 for the security code or the one you've changed it to.
Before you try the next two steps, backup your phone memory using PC Suite.
    3. Soft reset: type *#7370#. Enter the security code when prompted
    4. Hard reset (Last resort, nothing else works): Turn off your phone, press and hold down these keys: 3, * and the call (Green) button. Turn on your phone without releasing them. Leave the keys only after you see the Nokia logo on the screen.
If none of these work, then take it to the nearest Nokia Care Point.
PS: There's no use posting more than once, under irrelevant threads. It'll only delay help

  • Problem with GPS in Nokia 5800

I'm in Nokia Maps, I click in "my position" and it shows me the red dot in south of Portugal (Algarve). Well, that would be cool if I were there, but I'm not! I'm in the north (Braga). I want to connect via sattelite and not via internet, cause I want to use it when I'm driving. Can somebody help me?

    Hi gui94
If you won't give the Assisted GPS feature a network internet connection albeit to download 7 kb of data then your first fix is going to take longer to achieve and would suggest you go outside away from tall buildings preferably with clear view of sky.
The position achieved using the Network GPS (cell tower location) can sometimes be well off the mark unfortunately but not usually by that much and then you will get a "Black ring" around the centre when locked on to position at which time you will see next to satellite icon green bars instead of yellow.

  • Problem with WLAN in Nokia N82

I can't set correct key in settings for WLAN connect.
Access Point use Pre-Shared Key Format: Hex (64 characters)
Phone allow to input only 63 characters.
    Model of Phone Nokia N82.
Can anybody help me in this problem?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
It appears that Nokia haven’t implemented the standard fully. According to our router the Pre-Shared Key Format should be either 8-63 characters OR 64 Hex digits.
See the section on “Security in pre-shared key mode”
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_Protected_Access
But the N82 is only accepting the 8-63 character setting not the Hex option.

I had the same issue with a 5530. Facebook is not listed for 5530 in ovi even if 5530 had it when new. I had to go to ovi, and change my phone to be a 5800 (the closest to 5530) and then download to my computer and install. To download computer add or append "/download" after the series of numbers that appear like http://store.ovi.com/content/60837?clickSource=bso -> http://store.ovi.com/content/60837/download (this link is not for the application, is an example) It is hard to tell, which one would be the closes to C6, but the one for 5800 is touchscreen same type and resolution on screen, same s60 5th, etc. I should be a close enough match.
