Problem With Browser

Hi,
Can any one help me with a problem with my Firefox browser, I have recently been troubled with "Bing or Conduit" taking over as the apparent browser.
Not sure whether or not I have inadvertently clicked on something?.
Blackrockguy

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, back up all data, then follow these instructions.
If the instructions don't work, proceed as follows.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). From the Finder menu bar, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder…
Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If it does, delete the selected item.
Repeat with this line:
/Applications/Toolbars
Now you're deleting a folder named "Toolbars". You may be prompted for your login password. Next, copy this line:
/Library
Select Go to Folder… again and paste. Don't delete the Library folder. Delete only the following items inside it, if they exist.
Application Support/Conduit
InputManagers/CTLoader
LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
Close the Finder windows you opened. Log out and log back in.
I've seen a report that Conduit may be bundled with a scam "utility" called "MacKeeper." If you installed MacKeeper, you should remove it according to the developer's instructions. It's worthless and causes many problems reported on this site.

  • Problems with browsing on Safari and Firefox since Leopard upgrade ??

Ever since I upgraded to Leopard, I am experiencing consistent problems while browsing. Both Firefox and Safari stall when I click on links or try to load pages. The browsers just appears dead and the loading icons just stall. Firefox is much worse than Safari with every 3rd or 4th click causing a stall. I have to wait about a minute before the click is recognized and the page is loaded.
I thought it might be my airport connect but I have other Windows comps on the same network and they don't have the problem.
I haven't seen any thread in the Safari discussions about this and can't find anything on the net about it either.
Anyone know what the problem might be?
    Safari 3.1.1
    Firefox 2.0.0.14
    Leaopard 10.5.2

There were no error messages in the console for the stalling. However after I plugged the ethernet cable into the Imac, the problem seems to have gone away.
This is good but how can I fix the problem with my airport wireless connection ?

  • Problems with browser loading and finder menus

I have a MacPro Tower using airport to connect to a DSL modem. Recently I am having problems with very slow loading of web pages, often showing "Can't Find Server" errors. The problem is not with my DSL provider, because I have two older Macs in the house using the same DSL line and they are working fine. Video tutorials on Adobe's site are freezing about two minutes in and never load entirely (not a problem on the other Macs). This happens with any browser so not a browser problem. Also when quitting applications on occasion the finder menu continues to show the menu for the application I have just quit and seems reluctant to go back to finder or another application.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Similar problem here: sometimes ALL browsers (Safari, Camino, Firefox) stuck randomly on certain web pages.
If I force close the browsers, the program remain in Dock (but not in Process Monitor or in Terminal) and the machine refuse to restart (but others programs works as well).
Even if I submit a "sudo reboot" the machine remains in unknow state.
The only way to exit from this situation is to do an hard reset.

  • Services are up and running - problem with browser access to Apps instance

We are using 11.5.10 and I have just finished a clone from our TEST environment.
We cannot connect to the login screen however.
I suspect there is a problem with the address we are using
http://*****.********l.com:8002/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp is the address for our TEST instance. and 8003 was for the previous encarnation of our newly cloned system.
Which configuration file can I check to see how this instance was configured?
I am looking at the adcfgclone returns and see nothing much except
Target system proxy hostname (used default)
Target system proxy port [80]: (left as this)
Should I check the context file for the new instance?
I am checking the webport , but no luck.
Again, in the context file, I see
    <oa_web_server>
    <!-- Host & Domain -->
    <hostname oa_var="s_webhost">****cl</hostname>
    <externURL oa_var="s_external_url">http://****cl.****.com:8004</externURL>
(8004 was the last port used for this instance before cloning)
Should I check any specific table in the new instance??
    Thanks,
    DA
Or am I jumping the gun here? Do I need to initialize paraemeters first? (note 216205.1)

Well, checking here oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/logs in the error_log :
    I see
    Cannot load /oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/libexec/mod_mmap_static.so
into server: A memory address is not in the address space for the process.
But the last date I see is for June (although the file itself is dated from yesterday)
Furthermore, in the error_log_pls, I see similar returns but again, the last date is from August:
    Cannot load /oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/libexec/mod_mmap_static.so
into server: A memory address is not in the address space for the process.
Syntax error on line 232 of /oracli3/oracle/devora/iAS/Apache/Apache/conf/httpd_

  • Problem with browsing Contacts!

I have the following problem: Whenever I try to browse my Contacts through Phone Browser, "Explorer.exe" hangs. I noticed that this happens when selecting Contacts for which I have specified an image on my phone. Browsing other Contacts works fine.
It is really frustrating, I have already installed PCSuite more than 10 times. Occasionally PCSuite will fail to detect the phone and the only way to get it working again is to reinstall (repair will not do).

  • Problem with browser in Nokia N8

    Hello everybody
I just installed Symbian Anna in my phone, everything works right but one thing.
When I try to open a link included in an email the browser opens and immediately closes and I cannot see the contents of the link.
Same happens for example when I try to update Angry Birds from inside the game, the browser opens and then immediately closes without telling me if there is an update.
I tried turning off the block pop ups setting but it is not that.
Anyone has noticed that? Does anyone knows how to solve it?
    thank  you!

Good point.   I know the button he clicks on says CONTACTS, and the screen he gets is not the call log - it's the screen you would see after clicking on a particular contact, so the phone is ready to call that person.  The contact that shows up, is the contact for the last person he dialed.
This may well be due to my phone having SPB Mobile Shell on it, but it's easy to test if someone else has a N8.
Call someone in your contact list, anyone.  Hang up.  Go to CONTACTS and click on it.  Do you get the contact information for the person you've just called (as he does), or do you get the normal list of all your contacts?
I will ask if he is willing to test out your other idea - he can download the trial version of SPB Mobile Shell, and see if that changes anything.  Personally, I don't see how anyone would not want to keep SPB once they've tried it, but that is irrelevant.  I'll also go check the SPB settings - I think the program gives you some options of what should happen when you select various things.  Maybe that is why my phone is working as it does.  I'll have a better answer to that, once someone else does the above test on their N8, so we'll know which of our phones is doing what Nokia intended (unless there's some hidden menu somewhere I haven't yet been able to find....)

  • Problem with browser fill

    Hi guys,
When adding a browser fill, the image covers the whole page, am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks!

Also , please check if you have fill set to transparent as that could be the reason why it seems like image covers the whole page..
Please note that when you add the image to browser fill it will cover the white portion as shown in below image. This means the actual page area (in brown) is always by default above the browser fill.
    take a look :

If you're getting prompts that say something like this:
To view this web content, you need to install the Java Runtime Environment
then the Apple Java runtime is not installed. Some third-party web plugin is installed that depends on Apple Java.
You may have installed the Oracle Java runtime, which is different. Neither installing nor removing the Oracle Java will have any effect on the prompts. The only thing that will stop the prompts is either to install Apple Java, or to remove the web plugin that depends on it, as I wrote earlier. I don't know all the possible plugins that might be involved, but I mentioned a couple of common ones.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.

  • Problem with browsing

Initially I was able to browse normally using the data package from my mobile provider, recently I have not been able to, in the browser options the default browser configuration is set to Wi-fi Browser as an only option, which previously would have had Internet Browser as an option as well. Is there any way to reset factory settings so i can browse through data package again and not throught the wireless only.

Well today my phone is in bad mood and doesn't connect to my home wifi, so I guess another firmware is coming.
No idea how my phone will behave with the new 7.40 firmware now available at Nokia's website.
You could check if there is a firmware for your specific phone following the instructions at this main nokia website. Remove the battery and write your product code since you will need it when checking if the software is available.
There are several posts about how to update your firmware but one thing is sure, you must do a complete backup of your phone and be prepared to reinstall some of the software you installed later and even the ones that came with your phone so have your registration codes writed down.
You need to have the latest Nokia PC suite or download the NSU (Nokia software updater), have the battery fully charged and SIM must be inserted, backup also the memory card just in case.Message Edited by robmir on 01-Dec-200701:36 AM

  • Problems with browsers after update to Safari2.0.2 (416.12)

I have been experiencing problems with browser use on Safari today (the first time I have used the browsers since automatic update of OSX.4 was performed on 4.11.05).
Safari opens general web pages but stalls on many data base searches (spinning pinwheel).
All users on my network running 2.0.2 (416.12) have the same problem - those running earlier versions continue OK.
Does anyone have a fix or is anyone experiencing a similar (new) problem since 4.11.05?
    thanks

    Hi guys --
These boards are provided for us by Apple so that Mac users can help each other. This is not apple support, but a gathering place for people with questions, and people who try to provide answers.
When updating Safari you should be careful that any third party "Internet Enhancing" apps are still compatible. Programs like SpeedDownload, iGetter, PithHelmet, Acid Search, Safari Enhancer all needed updating starting around 10.3.9. Also Norton apps (with the "possible" exception of NAV) became incompatible about 8.6 or 9.0. Definitely not good for OS X. Virex can cause problems as well.
So everybody check to see if you have any of these apps, and let us know.
Also, here's my laundry list of things I do if & when Safari slows down.
    1. Empty your cache & History settings via the Safari menu
    2. Trash your Icons Folder:
    HD>Users>Home>YourName>Library>Safari -->Icons
Restart Safari and a new folder will be automatically regenerated.
(This folder saves favicons of all the sites you visit. Needs cleaning periodically -- or you can change that file's preferences to "Read Only"
rather than "Read & Write." This will keep it from growing in size.)
    3. You might want to check all three "auto" preferences in Safari. Sometimes those lists gets very long and need pruning. (I turned all autofill boxes off, and have no problems.)
    4. Launch Font Book and check all fonts for duplicates. A duplicated font will have a bullet beside the font family and you can resolve duplicates by selecting the font and at the menu bar, go to Edit > Resolve Duplicates.
Do this for each font with a bullet next to it.
    If you're still having problems:
    5. Shut down your computer . . . unplug the computer, modem, and router, if you have one. Let everything sit for 2-3 minutes. Plug everything back in, start up your modem & router, then restart your computer.
    Hope this helps

  • Is anyone having a problem with the new iPad (Gen. 3) not staying connected to the charger? It seems to ALWAYS get jiggled loose and no longer be charging. My iPad 1 has no issue but I can't browse Internet w/o new iPad unplugging. Horrible!

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?
    Thanks again!

  • Adding To The LIst Of Problems With Internet Explolrer 11 And Another Browser

I've b1 of the EA6500 router and like the othe posts I can't use IE 11.  The "solution" is to use either Chrome or Firefox but not my Chrome has stopped working.  All I get now is the LInksys Blue background.  When I first see the site it looks like it's trying but then gives me a blue page.  I've included screen prints of what I see when I go to Linksys Smart Wi-Fi page and below that is the version number.  I have deleted my browser history, cache, saved form data, etc. but the result is still the same.  And it doesn't matter if I use the router IP address or the Smartsys Wi-Fi link.
So right now the only broweser that will let me do router administration is Firefox but something tells me it too will have problems eventually.
the problem I'm having isn't with the router, it is with the company.  People have tried to blame Micrtosoft in these posts for the problem but it's not their problem.  The real kicker is that these Smart Wi-Fi routers are not old. nor are they cheap.  LInksys announced this line at CES 2012, then again in April, and the last one announced for thie "initial" line-up of new routers  was the EA6500 (the EA6500 was anounced in June 2012).
I've been mostly happy with LInksys reouters but if this is the way they are going to conduct business, then maybe I need to make certain adjustments with the networking products we purchase.
To put it bluntly...this situation is unacceptable.

Believe it or not I stumbled across the solution to the problem and need to partially retract one of my previous statements.  In a sense part of the responsibility does go to Microsoft because during one of their infamous "updates", the default version of Internet Explorer was changed to use the 64-bit version.  I rarely used the Internet Explorer (64 bit) link in my Start Menu...I always used the "default" which apparently was the 32-bit version because there are plenty of companies that have not updated their software for 64-bit.
The article I came across is Problem With Internet Explorer? Maybe You Need Fewer Bits.  The fix is simple and all it really takes is to right-click the icon for Internet Explorer and choose "Properties".  When that comes up change the value in the "Target" field from "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe".  Once you make the change save the change and then use that link to get to administer your browser.  I tried it and it worked.  I guess I missed the post from Linksys Support about that possibility.

Hi, I got the problem with Firefox 27.0.1. I can not run Selenium on Firefox after login a website for automation testing. The browser is not responding. However when I close Nunit, the page is back to be normal. The title is returned to the name of website without "not responding". I sure this problem did not happen on Firefox version 26. I just got this problem when firefox upgrading automatically to version 27. Please help me fix this problem because it is very important for my work. If you need more information pls send your concerns via my email address.

Hi, the work around suggested above should put you in working mode in the meantime. However to help investigate the issue it is possible to analyze what is not loading or taking a long time by analyzing the network traffic or http headers of the Nunit web page.
