Problem with brush definitions

Hello:
I have just started using Illustrator but I do have some experience with PS. My OS: Windows 7 64bit
So, I have been learning my way around and was playing with the Brush tool but when I went to reset the brush to Basic under Brush Definitions it would not stay on Basic. Also, when I go to set a different stroke size it keeps reverting back to 1px.
Any ideas? Or should I just call tech support on Monday?
Just thought I would ask here first.

Problems with site definition in CS5

I am trying to define a new site in DW CS5. When I enter the site information in the dialogue box I get the following message:
The spry assets folder is not inside the site. Please select a valid folder in your local site root.
The program automatically creates a folder for Spry assets but the error message still appears. I tried creating a new folder, but had the same results. I can't get past this screen. Why is this happening?

Thanks for your prompt response. The problem is, if I am defining a new site, there are no pre-existing folders. I am calling my site "HF", so Dreamweaver automatically chooses "/Users/Aaron/Documents/HF/SpryAssets" as the default folder for spry assets. If I use the "browse for folder" icon, I can select another folder, but what else would I choose? (I tried choosing other folders, as well as creating a new folder, and neither worked).I'm really stumped!

Yes, it's an annoying bug. In the Site Definition dialog, go to the Advanced > Spry tab and use the "browse for folder" dialog to select your SpryAssets folder and it will fix the path for you.

Problem With Brushes Pressure CS5

Hello all.
I'm using a Photoshop Cs5 with a Wacom Cintiq 12wx Tablet (I'm using PC with WinXP).
I'm having some problems withe the pressure, it doesn't work on Photoshop, (I tried it on CS3 & CS5), and I did clicked on the Tablet options in PS.
The pressure just don't responds.
I Think its becuse I can't change the Minimum Diameter in any Brush.
Plus when I change the Control part to Pen Pressure, a little warning sign is appering ( a triangel with an exclamation mark insaid ), how ever when I click on it [to see what the problem is ,nothing happens].
I have to point out that in the Cintiq Tablet Properties it's all fine, the pressure respond(in the meter)
I tried making a different settings for Photoshop, it didn't help. Can any one Pleas help me?

Usually, this is an issue with the wacom driver needing to be updated.
A few people have also found that the Windows tablet settings can also mess things up.

But are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance like repairing permissions, purging PRAM, font validation, etc.) yet?

Elements 12 problem with brush cursor

I have recently bought Elements 12 (I have used Elements 2 for many years) which I am running on a Dell laptop with Windows 7. Every time I change the brush cursor size, the cursor becomes corrupted. It changes to strange shapes and does not work properly. I have found that I can rectify the probem each time by pressing the spacebar. The cursor then becomes circular again and works properly, but only until I change the brush size again. So I have to keep pressing the spacebar all the time when I am trying to use the brushes. Has anyone else had this problem and know of a fix please? I have not encountered any other problems with Elements 12.

Sorry I didn't spot that box and many thanks for the diagram. I have now reset the brush tool which does revert the cursor to the circular shape and sets it to a small size (13 px), but the problem reoccurs. As I increase the brush size, when it gets to 250 px, the cursor goes to an odd shape, then it reverts to circular at about 800 px. A similar thing happens if I then reduce the brush size.
I am new to this forum, as I didn't have any problems with Elements 2. After I posted my question, it listed similar questions from other members. One member descibed an identical problem with an earlier version of Elements. That post was a very long dialogue and I have just quickly read through it. He could not fix it and people's suggestions were that it was probably a deficiency with his graphics card. Unfortunately, I suspect I have the same problem with my Dell laptop. I imagine there is nothing I can do other than buying a new PC, but if you guys have any further suggestions, then that would be great. Many thanks!

Problems with Brushes & Actions on Photoshop CS6

I'm using Creative Cloud and Photoshop CS6.
I work a lot with brushes and actions.
Everytime I close Photoshop, all my brushes and actions disappear and everytime, I need to upload them onto Photoshop. Over and over again.
What is going on?

Problem with Schema Definitions for Persintence Units

Hello,
Is there any way to explicitly specify SCHEMA types for the persistence units which are under use?
Details:
In our SOA application, we have to use two different data sources within a single business component. For that I have created my persintence.xml file with two persistence-unit definitions and is using @PersistenceContext(unitName="") to get an entity manager reference.
Things were going smoothly until we had 2 different users for the respective database schema's.
Now, as per the change request, I am supposed to use only one database user account, who is having only the read and modify privileges on both the database schema's. I would like to know, is there any way to explicitly specify the schema type for both of my persistence-units. I tried with the default-schema in orm.xml, but for both the data sources, that schema is getting referred. As a work around, currently I am using the SCHEMA attribute with all my @Table annotation of entity classes.
Any input which will give insight to this problem will be appreciated.

orm.xml is the default mapping file for a persistence unit. Can you try specifying a separate mapping file where you define the default schema for your unit and reference it from the mapping-file element in the persistence.xml as follows:
<mapping-file>META-INF/secondORMap.xml</mapping-file>

Detect edges problem with brushes since 3.2 update

When using any of the brushes with the detect edges on with a raw image, they start to apply the change with a small area of the image effected but then stop applying the effect. If the colour overlay is turned on a straight line is seen were the affect has stopped being applied. turning of detect edges returns the brush to its normal function. This problem is making the detect edges function unusable and very anoying as I do use this a bit. This has only happened since upgrading to version 3.2.

Could you please check the behavior of the crop tool? In Ap. 3.1.3 when I grabbed the crop-frame on one of the middle handles only that side of the frame was moved. In Ap. 3.2 the opposite side moved too.
An example: grab the middle handle on the right side of the frame and move it to the right.
Aperture 3.1.3: the right border follows the mouse, the upper and the lower frame border goes up resp. down by resizing the crop-frame.
Aperture 3.2: the right border follows the mouse to the right side and the left border goes to the left side, the same amount you move the right frame border to the right side.
What about Aperture 3.2.1???

Problem with Brush + fill (gap) in 7 & cs4 (pic attached)

So starting sometime yesterday every time I draw with the brush (stroke a path), then fill it with the paintbucket there is always a gap between the fill and the brush. This is happening in 7 and cs4. See attached image I've tried googling this problem but the search terms (brush, gap, fill) are too generic. I've reset all photoshop settings and brushes in both 7 and cs4. I'm lost, any help is appreciated.
in this screen shot you can see the gap between the brush and the fill, but there is no gap with filling a marquee.

I also tried brushes that include a hardness control slider in CS3. They all produce the gap following your technique even with the hardness setting maxed. I assume some anti-alias must be included.
On a whim, I tried a brush from the "square brushes" set that is included in Photoshop. I selected this set because it lacks a hardness control slider. This particular brush set produced no gap when using your technique. I assume there is no anti-alias built into brushes that lack a hardness control slider. My theory is that previously this is the type of brush you have used to stroke your boxes.

Problem with Application definition Editor

Hi All,
the problem is that when the application definition contains Arabic text (e.g. in Labels region) the Application definition Editor didn't open and i got the following error:
"Application Structure File appears to be in an invalid state"
also i couldn't run the JHeadStart generator
any one have an idea about this problem

i found that the JHeadStart 10.1.3.2 application editor didn't write the version & encoding line in the application definition file (e.g. <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1256'?>)
so it can't opened the application definition file if it has Arabic Text and didn't run the JHeadStart generator
so is there exist any why to enforce the application definition editor to write the encoding line ???

Problem with brushes in PSE 9

My brushes in PSE 9 seems to live a life of their own. Eks: I click in my photo with the eraser/dogde/clone and so on.. and the "work" is done in a different place in the picture. Hope you understand my explanation. Does anyone know what to do about it? It has been like this for a while.
I have tried resetting the tools.
Was also adviced to: Go to Edit>Preset Manager . . . don't change anything . . . and just click Done. That did not work either..

When you right click on the desktop you don't see personalize at the bottom of the menu?

Problem with partner definition in JIT agreement

Good morning,
I have a wrong partner definition in the JIT agreements.
I would like to change it and put the right partner definition.
In the first time, I changed the partner definition in the customer (transaction XD02 parts "Sales area data" and parts "Partner functions" (field KNVP-KNREF).
But my modification do not appear in the JIT agreement already created (approximately 400 JIT agreements) (transaction VA32).
Is it possible to change the Partner definition in the field VBPA-KNREF with a function modul or BADI ?

What do you mean by permission on the system obhect, i define it as in SP2, is there something new in sp 9 ?
I note that for each iview we can now define autorisation schema and i set it to the same value of System : UIPWD.

LR 3.2 Keyword delete Problem with brush Tool

I Can't delete any Keyword with the Brush Tool. The brush Icon was not change to the rubber icon when I take the Brush with an exsisting keyword over a photo in the grid view.

Problem with brush preview in PS CS4

When my instructor shows the brush preview mode, his brush looks like the selected brush, which means that if there's a lot of feathering on it, he can see that. In the same mode and with the same cursor settings in the preferences, I only get a circle indicating the size of the brush. There's nothing to see about the relative hardness of it. COuld this be because I'm running on Windows XP? If not, how can I get to see the brush the way he does. Thanks for your help.

Problems with brushes showing in Brush Preset fly-out window - CS6

I've loaded a set of brushes I created into CS6. They show up fine in the menu bar brush window, in the Preset Manager, in the Brush Preset palette above my layers palette, but they will not appear in the brush preset fly-out window. This is where I do all the manipulating of my brushes, of course, so this is essential. I have created many, many brushes and done this many, many times and have never had this problem. Any thoughts on what's going on? PS CS6 on a Mac.
