Problem with buttons in Safari 6?

Have a strange situation where in Safari 6 a site I am working on has a Previous and Next button on the page. Works perfectly in Firefox and in Safari 5.1.7.
In Safari 6, however, selecting the 'Next' button also highlights the 'Previous' button and when clicked takes you back to previous page. If it was a css probelm, surely this would happen in Firefox or Safari 5 as well. Can't work it out - any ideas?

The Safari parallax scrolling jitters is the result of a fairly severe JavaScript performance bug in the update of Safari that Apple put out with OS 10.9 Mavericks.
I expect a couple things will occur in the next month or two. First I'll be surprised if Apple doesn't release an update to address the issue (though I don't have any inside knowledge on it). It affects many sites, not just those created using Muse. And second, we (the Muse team) are working on changes to our JavaScript library for parallax to improve performance in all browsers. For most browsers and moderate use of parallax effects, improving performance isn't strictly necessary. However, as the total number of attributes being animated on objects on a single page via scroll effects increases so does the processor load during scrolling and when it overloads the device things appear to jitter. Thus we're working on improving the performance of Muse generated scroll effects in order to increase the number of objects that can have scroll effects on any given page without overloading the processor on lower performance devices and/or slow browsers.
