Problem with case sensitivity 7.3.4

Hi,
We are having a problem with JDBC being unable to handle a lower
case on a SQL statement execution. For eg: Like '%S%' works but
not '%s%'.
Any suggestions
Thanks,

Hi Ganesh,
it's not a jdbc problem. when u try to query
using matches (%'s), it looks for exact match.
u can Compare the values by converting them
to uppercase using to_upper.
ex: where to_upper(table_field_name) = to_upper('%
ur_string_value%') ...

  • Installation of Flash Player 11.9 under OSX fails with case-sensitive filesystem!?

    The installation  of flash player 11.9 aborts with an unspecified error. I running OSX 10.9 with an case-sensitive filesystem. Can anyone confirm there are problems with the installer on case-sensitive filesystems?

    The problem isn't the filesystem per se. It's bad software quality if pathnames defined wrong or multiple times with different notation. Often there is only one or two letters with the wrong upper or lower case. I guess in the current Flash installer this is the case. With the previous versions I had no problems.

    My Mini isn't case sensitive, so I can't really say but I had two iMacs when I worked at Intuit that were case sensitive and they had all kinds of software installation issues. One of the Mac developers at Mountain View told me that Case Sesnitive shouldn't be chosen as a format except when a system is isolated and used as a testing server. For a workstation or home computer, it's a terrible choice for a setup.

  • Acrobat Reader 8, problems on case-sensitive HFS+

    Hi,
    I hope this is the right forum. I have formatted my Macbook to use case-sensitive HFS+ volumes, because I regularly use Unix programs (many of which have a built-in assumption that file names are case-sensitive) and now some functions of Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 don't work properly (e.g. printing and Updater). Since above formatting is the only change from my older installation, I assume it's because of the different HFS+ format. So I propose you test Adobe Reader on a Mac with case-sensitive volumes sometime.

  • ColdFusion Builder with case sensitive file system on Mac?

    Hi there,
    I tried to install CF Builder on my MacBook Pro (Intel), OS-X 10.5.7 with case sensitive file system. Installation went smoothly, but, when I try to launch CF Builder, I get an error saying that the "architecture is not supported". Is it just nor possible to have CF Builder on a case sensitive fs?
    Thank you
    Chris

    I am having the same issue and logged in here to see what the deal is.
    After I installed cfbuilder my flex builder crapped out as well.
    The cfbuilder logs (which were conveniently scattered throughout my system for no reason) report that I am running:
    java.vm.version               == 1.5.0_19-137
    But if I run "java -version" in terminal I get:
    daves-macbook-pro-2:~ Dave$ java -version

    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03-211)
    Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.3-b02-83, mixed mode)

  • FileVault Doesn't Work With Case-Sensitive Journaling?

    Hello,
    I'm not finding anything on this topic via searches. Bought Leopard, erased the hard drive, installed Leopard with Case-Sensitive Journaling, and now Leopard won't enable FileVault. This is being done on a MBP bought in August 2007; another MBP running Leopard with regular Journaling, and bought in early 2006, has allowed FileVault to be enabled. Both MBPs have installed the available updates.
    SysPrefs claims FileVault requires Mac OS Extended, and Disk Utilities clearly shows that the volume is formatted appropriately, but it's not recognizing this as being the case.
    See linked screenshots.
    http://www.emoore.org/etc/FileVault.Error.1.png
    http://www.emoore.org/etc/FileVault.Error.2.png

    In general it is not recommended to use the case-sensitive file system. Not all 3rd party apps can deal with it, especially if you have two files with the same name but different cases.

  • Problems with pressure sensitivity CS3

    Hiya! As my title says, I'm having problems with pressure sensitivity in CS3. I use an HP Pavilion tx2000 (or, more specifically, tx2115nr) hybrid tablet-PC. I used the help feature to see if my brush settings were set correctly...but it seems that CS3 just isn't registering that I'm using a tablet at all (it shows a little yellow caution triangle warning that I need a tablet for the pressure-sensitive settings; I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that or not). I used a (sorely outdated) version of Photoshop that worked just fine with my tablet-PC, and I find it rather discouraging that CS3 isn't working...can anyone help me solve this problem?
    If I'm missing any necessary information needed to help solve this problem, just lemme know and I'll post it ASAP.

    I have an nvidia chipset with an nforce motherboard...I don't know how to check who made my screen, though.
    The only way I know how to check if my drivers are updated is through Windows Updates...the only update I have that's not language packs is an update for Wacom (it says "Wacom - Input - Wacom USB Touch"), not really sure why though since I don't have a Wacom tablet, just my PC...anyway, I'm going to update and see if that solves my problem.

  • How can I deal with case-sensitive filenames referred to inconsistently inside other files?

    I have downloaded into Dreamweaver an existing web site that I'll be taking over from someone else.  The site was built with Microsoft Front Page and apparently now runs on a Windows web server.  While redesigning the site, I'd like to upload it to a web server belonging to me, where I can maintain a work in progress that is accessible to others (so they can give me input as I go along).  But my site is running on a Unix system, where filenames are case-sensitive.
    In the site I've inherited, I've discovered at least one file that is referred to in other files sometimes with one character in upper case and other places in all lower-case.  The actual filename contains the upper case character and locally, on my Windows system, it doesn't matter.  But on the server the file is not found when it is referenced in all lower-case.
    Of course, I can create an all lower-case symlink on my Unix server for the mixed-case file that I know about.  But I don't want to look through every file on the site for other files which may vary, case-wise, in how they are referenced.  Is there any way that Dreamweaver can help me;  for example, by going through and changing all mixed-case filename references inside files, to be consistent with the actual filenames?
    I know this is a lot to ask of Dreamweaver and I'm not optimistic.  But if anyone knows of a solution, I'd appreciate it.

    he means that if you use the file > find function
    (on windows this can be called upoon using CTRL + F)
    you will be able to go through all the files which are cauing you a problem and change their names so that they are all in the same case
    be warned thou
    if case sensitivity is your problem,
    and
    if some code references to your files are written in one case and some are written in the other case, simply changeing the case of the file names will not help.
    what you are trying to do will only work if
    > ALL of the file names are in one case
    or
    > ALL of the files names are the same case
    bcause this will mean you can change the one which does not always match using CTRL + F
    if there is a mix and match on both sides then you are in for a lot of work, if this problem involves multiple names then i would advise you to simply start over!

  • HFS File system with case sensitive is not accepted to install creative cloud? Is there any other way but install the whole MacOS again after formatting the drive. I cannot belief that Adobe is so bad to it's Mac customers..

    After many hours setting up OS10.10 from he scratch the last step should be installing m Adobe apps again.
    trying this I always get the error message that creative cloud does not accept case sensitive file systems and I shall use another drive.
    This means I have to set up the whole machine again after formatting without case sensitive but then having copy problems with my NAS?
    I cannot belief that Adobe is really demanding this. If so this would show how urgent this market need alternatives and some more competition...

  • Still need help with case sensitive strings

    Hello guy! Sorry to trouble you with the same problem again,
    but i still need help!
    "I am trying to create a scrypt that will compare a String
    with an editable text that the user should type to match that
    String. I was able to do that, but the problem is that is not case
    sensitive, even with the adobe help telling me that strings are
    case sensitive. Do you guys know how to make that comparison match
    only if all the field has the right upper and lower case letters?
    on exitframe
    if field "t:texto1" = "Residencial Serra Verde"then
    go to next
    end if
    end
    |----> thats the one Im using!"
    There were 2 replys but both of them didnt work, and the
    second one even made the director crash, corrupting even previously
    files that had nothing to do with the initial problem..
    first solution given --
    If you put each item that you are comparing into a list, it
    magically
    makes it case sensitive. Just put list brackets around each
    item.
    on exitframe
    if [field "t:texto1"] = ["Residencial Serra Verde"] then
    go to next
    end if
    end
    Second solution given--
    The = operator is not case-sensitive when used on strings,
    but the < and > operators are case-sensitive.
    So another way to do this is to check if the string is
    neither greater than nor less than the target string:
    vExpected = "Residencial Serra Verde"
    vInput = field "t:texto 1"
    if vExpected < vInput then
    -- ignore
    else if vExpected > vInput then
    -- ignore
    else
    -- vExpected is a case-sensitive match for vInput
    go next
    end if
    So any new solutions??
    Thanks in advance!!
    joao rsm

    The first solution does in fact work and is probably the most
    efficient way
    of doing it. You can verify that it works by starting with a
    new director
    movie and adding a field named "t:texto1" into the cast with
    the text
    "Residencial Serra Verde" in the field. Next type the
    following command in
    the message window and press Enter
    put [field "t:texto1"] = ["Residencial Serra Verde"]
    You will see it return 1 which means True. Next, make the R
    in the field
    lower case and execute the command in the message window, it
    will return 0
    (true).
    Now that you know this works, you need to dig deeper in your
    code to find
    what the problem is. Any more info you can supply?

  • BUG - FTP with case sensitive server

    My provider uses case sensitive file and directory names. I
    created a directory 'OtherStuff' on the server directly (not from

    and PUT it, FTP failed to find the directory but continued and put

    Yes, I erred. However, it would be good if Dreamweaver would
    stop when it encounters a cd failure.

    You can enable case sensitive link checking in the site
    manager.
    However, this is more the issue of the OS, rather then DW.
    Windows -
    which is the OS you use, I assume - is about the only OS
    (that I know
    of) which is case insensitive!
    All Linux/Unix based servers are case sensitive.

  • Problems with context-sensitive HTML made from importing FM 10 to RH9

    This worked in October and it doesn’t work now.
    Start with a clean, well-formatted Frame 10 book with multiple chapters.  Chapters, Heading 1, 2 and 3 headings have various FM Markers TopicAlias with ID for calling the help.
    Example of FM marker: ID_HELP_SYSTEM_DEFAULT
    Import FM book to RH 9 –pointed to an AllStyles.fm doc as a template, pagination on the above 4 headings, cross-refs mapped, on the Other Settings page the Context Sensitive Help Marker is set to TopicAlias.
    Import looks spiffy;  great TOC, Index, formatting, links, everything is exactly like I expected. Create chm file help. It looks great too. This part works well IMO.
    My.h file is formatted with Hex number to match the application’s call.
    Example:
    #define ID_HELP_SYSTEM_DEFAULT 0x3F131
    #define ID_HELP_EDITDATASET_TOOLBAR 0x3F132
    Rename my mapping h file to BSSCDefault.h and put in root directory replacing the one RH makes.  [When RoboHelp makes an h file, the numbers it assigns do not match what my application calls for. Changing these is not an option. I have hundreds of mapped IDs.]
    Reopen RH  and view the BSSCDefault. h file from RH. It has magically changed the Hex numbers to 6 digit numbers.
    Example:
    ID_HELP_SYSTEM_DEFAULT              258353      Saving Project Defaults as System Defaults
    ID_HELP_EDITDATASET_TOOLBAR  258354      Editing Datasets Using the Mouse
    The Mapped IDs are blue and are not locked.  My FM TopicAlias Markers are all listed as Map IDs, I have Map#s for them and they point to the correct topic.  The center panel  shows Assign as grayed out. The project that worked in October looked just like this too, I checked.
    Recomplie. Place new chm file in application. It will open from the menu item for Help, it will open from F1 but it will not open from any of the mapped Help buttons.
    I uninstalled/reinstalled RH 9 and tried reimporting/compileing with an unpatched version. No change, still borked.
    There has not been a change in the application; there are no new IDs in this version. I tried the new compiled help in an older version of my application and it will not work. Same behavior.
    Any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem? What am i missing?

    I dont use the settings file, I use a FrameMaker doc as a template. It has all my styles and I set the others before the import. There arent very many.
    But, since you import from Frame, would you look at this and verify?
    Looking at Map File in the Edit Map IDs dialog On the left the panel the Map ID is listed, then the Map # and finally the topic title.
    Do your Topics show a notation at the end?
    Example: Averaging Datasets #CSH_71
    Then on the Topic panel if you find that same topic you see
    Topic symbol -Averaging Datasets   [and the Topic properties show “no map ids for this topic]
    Bookmark symbol -Averaging Dataset#CSH_71 [topic properties show the map id when you select it]
    Bookmark symbol -Averaging Datasets#IX_averaging_datasets
    Bookmark symbol-Averaging Datasets#XREF_25075_Averaging Datasets
    I understand the Index and cross ref markers, but the isolated book mark is odd. You would think the notation would be on the topic
    The chm file from October works in my latest build, and the developers swearz they changed NOTHING in the way it is called. I still have to talk to QM who do the builds just in case.

  • Problem with CASE and Object tables.

    Hi guys,
    Have a problem which I am unable to understand how to solve.
    I have the following object
    create type obj_numeric_id_table as table of number(30);
    create type obj_search_rec as object
    ( zones number(4),
      locs obj_numeric_id_table
    create type obj_search_tbl as table of obj_search_rec;
    /Now this object Obj_search_tbl is being passed as an IN parameter to a procedure...actually the object has many more columns but the problem at hand is with the locs column.
    The problem is - if I use the count for the locs column in an IF statement, then all works fine, but if I use it inside a CASE statement in the SELECT clause, it gives me an error.
    create proc proc_1 (abc obj_search_tbl) .....
    L_search obj_search_rec;
    begin
    L_search_rec := abc(1); -- for the moment there is only one record.
    IF L_search_rec.locs.count() > 0 then -- this works perfectly
    END IF;
    select (case when L_search_rec.locs.count() > 0 then 1 end) from some_table;
    -- now this case statement gives me the following error
    "PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "L_SEARCH_REC"."LOCS"."COUNT": invalid identifier"Am I doing something wrong....am unable to understand why this is so...
    Thanks,

    Other possibility:
